I do would love if the Avalon-team just for 110% focusses on the development of their product as I know it will be fantastic, and not wastes any time on their opponents.

I'd love to if you can respond to this message BitSyncom.

No need for that as long this will continue the "word-fight" right? No one needs it...

BitSyncom,

Just let it go..There is no sense to loose your time for it...just personal opinion.  I do like tom very much indeed but i am wondering why he avoids simple yes/no answer if he had the chips - asked over and over from his own customers in his own forum (as long people like him so much of his openness and frankness)? The second thing i just can not understand as long as he was about to deliver week ago (if the chips were ok), why he is getting the pcb schematics from his engineers yesterday (famous powers of two  - bla bla - it was just a trick to reduce refunds, because by that time he knew that he will not deliver)? If i were him and i was waiting for the chips i wold have schematics revised many times + full populated PCB mounts ago in hands of software developers. It seems that his PCB (Asic board) is not produced yet. Let us say that he had the asics chips OK. How can he promise that he will deliver a couple of days after, when it is obvious that the board did not enter factory yet? What about the software for mining it needs at least some time to be developed also? Or this is just me thinking like that?  What about testing hardware itself (it needs at least a couple of days) and fixing hardware bugs if any? Adding all even chips were ok a week ago makes his delivery in as he stated 15 of January - just my math ..In general tom is not telling the whole truth - personal opinion...That is all

Doc,
Is there a way to force cgminer not to use var diff?
I prefer to mine at diff 1 as long as it possible....

I have just restarted cgminer

Yep. Viva la backup pool.

Doc,
Pool is still dead for me..It happened an hour ago. When pool was dead  I garbed latest cgminer 2.9.6 and something is wrong. From the other hand i see that some folks are mining...

Probably the only one experienced from BFL team was the "old nice looking lady soldering singles" picture , but unfortunately even that picture was removed from their website lately. So guess what no one of the "experienced" employes left Grin
I am just wondering who will solder BFL ASIC's as long as lady has gone??? Huh

PS:Just found it in Google cache...
It is prety obvious that she is in top form and 1000+ Asics for 10 days are not an issue for her Shocked

crazyates,
Just do your math. Having asic in your hands with current difficulty and any power consumption = ROI 2 weeks top
From the other hand having ASIC when dif is 30x-50x (and constantly increasing) with zero power consumption = ROI months or even years

2330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: December 06, 2012, 07:37:04 AM
I am smiling because i feel the news will be good for us for sure. I do not care about other vendors at all. There is pretty good chance Avalon to be the first! that matters for me. No power consumption no hash rate. It is most likely that they will say something good and push the delivery to happen soon. Once again it is just personal feeling..
2331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: December 06, 2012, 07:28:22 AM
I guess they are pretty bad Tongue
2332  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICs for EU-market on: December 05, 2012, 01:41:56 PM
that sounds very good - let us hear if it is time for this...
As i said it is early for this yet. I just do not want to start another thread. According to Avalon statements if they are on time i will start the thread first or second week of January when time comes of course.
2333  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICs for EU-market on: December 05, 2012, 01:28:00 PM
Guy's

When time comes - Avalon second batch i will start a thread for group buying. I do have some Lancelots for trade in (400 USD trade in price as initially announced from Avalon team), i can handle EU customs also and reship Avalons to EU without any taxes (EU to EU delivery). Just to let everyone know, if you are going to buy Avalon - second batch check the forums. For sure there will be reduction from Avalon price + VAT + shipping for all of us. I am not going into details, because it is to early for that.
2334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: December 05, 2012, 01:14:11 PM
The chances that all four companies currently nearing the end of their product development cycles are scamming is effectively zero. ASICs are coming to bitcoin mining the only question is how soon and how efficient. Some early adopters of ASIC mining hardware will surely be rewarded with a very low ROI. For instance if I had my 2xbASIC01 units that cost a total of $2168 right this very minute they'd mine enough btc to pay for themselves in EIGHT DAYS...including power cost.
+1
Refunds are going just because of that if they are not the first ones ROI can be years though...
I have my favorite ASIC vendor and i am aware of the fact that my ASIC will not be one of the first ones. Unless he becomes first which will be good surprise for me. But that is me. No one is willing to have ROI in years eventually. And no one cares about power or actual hash rate, the only thing that maters for most is to be the first ones mining with it
2335  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: December 05, 2012, 10:46:49 AM
Pretty sad   Sad

I've been reading over at bASIC's thread, alot of refunds going out,why  Huh

How many refunds have been given, any idea  Huh

I really wish Tom all the best & hope he gets his product out soon  Cool

Even if BFL delays again,I still won't look for a refund,I'm riding this till the end  Wink

Refunds are not going out because of Tom or anything related to him. I think that community just realized that whole "ASIC" story will end for miners in LONG ROI if it happens at all. And when they see that they are not having the advantage to mine for a month or two alone, they are using the delay for the reason to ask for refund. We shall expect a lot of refunds to happen to the other companies also these days if the customers has the right to ask for them of course.

Doc,
Are you restarting pool? A lot of rejects and 503 open id login error?

PS: I just saw your post..Is DoS affecting mining or just web is attacked?
2337  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: December 03, 2012, 08:30:53 AM

Lets just wait another few weeks untill BFL will ship before Christmas, if not i will hoard as many gpu,s as i can... Cool

Do you still believe in "Santa Claus"? Cheesy Who knows people say that miracles still happen by Christmas time....
2338  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Development Status [Batch #1] on: November 30, 2012, 08:33:47 AM
easy!
they are just eating our pre orders!  Grin

 Grin
Absolutely not. Yifu attend a meeting in Macau these days, about BTC environment and economy, no direct relation with Avalon project.

when he is having a big dinner on that table,  Avalon team is at Beijing, China, working hard and eating instant noodles.  Sad

We know:)

Whatever DOC made if he made something at all he deserves it. Not mentioning the fact that probably some of the pools have some "bugs" not showing the orphans like Ozcoin according to DOC post. I do not know if they are paying the orphans or not though. I have not mined there and i am not bashing at ozcoin at all. Some of the pools "officially" do not support merged mining. And as we all know it is not a rocket science to merge mine especially when you are pool operator. And to take 2.5% (All NMC income) on top of their 4% donation right?

Doc please do your math and tell us what shall be minimal donation in order for pool to stay alive. You are the last one who shall pay for it

2340  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL shipment date update on: November 27, 2012, 08:33:04 PM

If they were going to take everyone's money and run, it would have been done a long time ago.  They are very likely losing money by having to give out refunds vs the number of new orders they might be taking in.
I am really sorry about BFL. I suggest all of us to send them some money so they can cover their loss and make some money on top? Or just to speed the proses up? We all know that long term winners are ASIC producers themselves. Right?  If i were one of you guy's who preordered almost half an year ago i will feel like i am badly F....D UP. The winners eventually will be the lucky ones from us which happen to have ASIC's delivered first. Actually i am starting to doubt about this also.

hardware manufacturers always win, forcing you to buy a new firmware, new improvements, new product generation.
BFL double wins, can earn by selling hardware and using it for mining. With your money making machine to make money. And for the year, they will force you to bought the second generation. This is a good business Wink All this is hypothetical because there is no guarantee that they will succeed.
Nobody is forcing you. I do not agree with it. It is a decision made by us. But is about time for the community to give them what they deserve. I mean that everybody shall ask for refund that is what they deserve. And if they have invested any money in chips which is doubtful also They will get bankruptcy!
