2341  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Casascius 2011 Error Coin MS-65 on: May 24, 2014, 04:12:37 PM
http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/grades.shtml

Sums it up also...no Casascius to date has ever gotten better than MS-67.  Only 1 of the brass coins has ever gotten that (probably by luck / grader in good mood?).  Most of the 2011 errors I have seen grade MS-60-66.

Great link Smiley
2342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is that it for Darkcoin? on: May 23, 2014, 09:16:56 PM
I bought litecoins for nearly 40$, but look at it now  Grin I am still holding, because I invest only money that I can afford to lose. That should be your lesson.
Goodl luck!

Hang on to those litecoin Wink
2343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is that it for Darkcoin? on: May 23, 2014, 09:15:18 PM
The price is only down 10% in terms of BTC, compared to what you buy for - this leaves you with a choice, realize your loss (10%) or hold the altcoins.
I you prediction is that altcoin will go over 0.0269 within the timeframe you have in mind then should you hold, else sell.

Keep in mind that bitcoin has gone up more than 10% over the last 2 days, which in reality leaves you with a profit in terms of dollars (why sad about that?)

You cannot expect all altcoins to always goes up, there is also a tendency that the altmarked drop when bitcoin jumps, that is logical, since some want to cashout and take advantage of the high dollar price.

Another free advice: If you are investing (in anything, stock, metal, crypto), never put all the eggs in one basket, spread out the investment. E.g 50% BTC, 20% Altcoin1, 20% Altcoin2, 10% Altcoin3.
If you but everyting in altcoin, then are you more gamling than investing, you might as well roll satoshi's dice.

I read once here at the forum (i don't remember who wrote it): "always keep one bitcoin safe and never use it".
Personally I like that advice a lot Smiley
2344  Economy / Goods / Re: WTS 2013 Casascius Silver Bitcoin with Gold B (1 BTC) Funded on: May 23, 2014, 07:23:48 PM
is it just me, or does it seem like there's something wrong with the sticker on the bottom? was it not put on perfectly, been handles, etc?

I can vouch for wafdawg, he is a numismatic and experienced coin collector, I bought 3 different coins from him, they where all authentic and in perfect condition.

2349  Economy / Collectibles / Re: CASASCIUS PHYSICAL BITCOIN - In Stock Now! (pic) on: May 18, 2014, 12:53:49 PM
Hey Icey,

I just got my order of 5 coins back from ANACS after grading. I live in Australia. I sent them using Aus post with 5k of insurance (I sent 5x1btc 2011 series 1 with error). I asked ANACS to send back with 5k of insurance. Received the return parcel without any problem though the package seemed to indicate only $100 insured value - luckily it made it to me without a hitch. I have followed up with ANACs to see whether it was insured for the requested amount or not.

How much was the total cost shipping, insurance + ANACS fee ?

2354  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ►฿ ► ฿ ►฿ LEALANA PHYSICAL BTC & LTC RESUMING SALES (UNFUNDED) on: May 16, 2014, 03:02:23 PM
Awesome Smoothie!

It will be interesting to see if the self-fundend coins will achieve a high premium price (over time).
The "old" funded coins on has a high pretty high premium price right now on the 2nd market.

2355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: May 15, 2014, 07:18:09 PM
It does not work in practices if:
-You have infinite funds.

The martingale rely on the exponential function 2^x.
And x will not need to be very high before you are out of funds.

Each "coin flip" has no memory of the previous roll, it is surprising how likely it is to flip the same face e.g. 16 times.
If that happens, then would an inital loss of $1 take $65536 dollar to recover, which few people is prepared to gamble anyway, and if they where, then would they most likely not start out with a $1 bet.
2356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 15, 2014, 07:10:33 PM
I think BOTH bitcoin and gold are good long term investments.
I think it is wise to have investments spread out, personal I hold both silver, gold and bitcoins.

The two major differences (imo):
Bitcoin is extremely easy to move / convert.
Gold has an instinctive value.

2359  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 oz Silver American Eagles on: May 02, 2014, 05:19:14 PM
American eagles are Minted by the U.S. government and yes they are legal Tender.  If you go to a store to buy something with them the cashier will look at you like you are crazy but they have to accept it is cash.

how to distinguish if it legal tender or not: If it has a Dollar value like $1 Dollar then it can be used as tender(provided it's minted by The U.S. government). If it just says 1 Oz. silver then it's just bullion.

Here is the U.S. gov link showing they are legal tender http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/american_eagles/index.cfm?Action=american_eagle_silver

Very interesting, thank you for writing.
