I've been tricked by this privnotes.com I just realized it when viz pm me that I'm using the wrong privnote.

I clicked the wrong link when searching privnote in google and its save to my browser so I've use it a lot in some of my transactions, luckily I didn't use it in BTC transactions so no I didn't lost any money.

2347  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help I’m a beiginner And I think I got got scammed out of 130$ on: June 15, 2020, 07:41:51 AM
So I sent bitcoin to this address 17oJbtksDxPF6jrKJyetqg9UBEoMyQyesY I look thru blockchain it said the address received it but btc not sent what dost that mean I’m lost somebody help me please

The address already received and completed all transaction in the address its already has its balance, I'm thinking if it doesn't appear in your wallet even if you already received the balance.

Surely the problem is the wallet you are using, if you have the private key it should be good to go, I suggest waiting for a few days maybe the wallet you use needed some time to verify if it doesn't go and report it.

Answer all of the questions @OP. I'm also confused what do you mean by not sent. If that address is owned by a person you're dealing, it's on that address and received and confirmed by the network which is basically the amount of $130 during the time(bitcoin plummet just now) you sent it arrived to that person.

Which means, that person is basically telling you that he hasn't received the coins? is that correct? But the fact that it's seen on the blockchain and confirmed which you seem to know it, the guy is fooling you that you haven't sent the amount.

It might be the wallet since I experience something like this when you're using a custodial wallet. Numbers in the balance account are just codes etc.

2350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap's new feature - Chat on: June 14, 2020, 03:38:48 PM
I guess no one has noticed and posted this so, I'll be posting it.

I've noticed that there's a messenger icon beside the search box and it's the new feature they have released, the chat. It requires logging in so you can chat with specific communities for each coin. There are channels made already there and you can join for those channels that you hold the coin. I didn't noticed that it was already announced last June 11.

https://coinmarketcap.com/chat/

News: CoinMarketCap Launches Chat

This feature is something everyone must know. This will help users to engage with other users in their community. Just make sure when using it keep all important information from being exposed. I recommend to make another alternative email account to log in, this will make the user more secure. But the feature look decent, I've tried it and so far no problem encountered.

We don't really visit coinmarketcap every day but it's a great feature to have on the websites having the opportunity to chat with other traders etc.

Maybe there is a lot of discussion on the websites that a lot of users could do but I doubt that a lot of people are going to take it seriously as the websites it didn't really focus on having social interaction.

If it doesn't require log-in or if there is a feature for guess log-in may be a lot of users will joining or gain interest in it as the websites might just getting personal information.
2351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Bitcoin as inheritance on: June 14, 2020, 03:23:03 PM
My basic ideia is:
1 - Encript the keys with your password, but must be a very strong password, resilient to brute force atack.
2 - Print the encripted keys in paper or some more durable medium and store securely in your home.
3 - Reveal to your family a limited set of characters with wich they can sucefuly find the password using brute force, in a short time.
4 - If you die, your family must get into your home/safe box, get the encripted keys and use the characters to perform a brute force atack in order to get the keys.

Does anyone have think about leaving bitcoin as inheritance? Is there already some solution to this? Thoughts?

Remind, Covid-19 is over here.
On the flip side, death is as scary as s**t! Well, some day one will definitely die. That's inevitable. But what matters beyond one's ability to secure one's assets the best way one can is the need to always do good while alive. One thing remains striking while making every attempts to safeguard one's Bitcoin, no matter whatever password one uses, is that there is always that loophole where a costly slip could happen and then make a complete mess of whatever security one had by breaching it. Hackers are a clever set of humans. They're always trying to beat the network.

The scary thing is we don't know when we are going to die  Grin, Even at this moment I already think of this but still not doing it maybe when I have my own family I would like to teach them about this bitcoin, etc.

Or Maybe just print everything that your family needs to know so that when the time has come they are going to read those and figure out about your investment or bitcoin. Another scary thing is when you don't have an investment for them to inherit  Grin
2352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "NEW NORMAL" Betting on: June 14, 2020, 03:05:35 PM
Sports and gambling will always be sports and gambling and promoters and gamblers will always find a way under strict circumstances, Bob Arum so far has done it in his weekly boxing matches, others are now following, life must go and so are sports because this is the lifeline of many people, so many are depending on it, we cannot just look at it while it's dying we have to do something.

of course, where some people when lockdown is still gambling or sportbetting, they will try new ways whether it's an underground boxing match and no media coverage, or whatever the type of sport that can be done in a small or closed place.

People are really wise and they will push the limit just to do gambling no matter the situation is. Having new ways of continuing gambling or sports events will really make it hard for those people who are addicted to gambling, but still Bob Arum get used to it because of his boxing matches that are on going. This NEW NORMAL is a hassle for them because of the risk of getting the disease.

Probably, there are new set of rules and regulations inside the casinos where they must follow to prevent the spread of the disease. It is true that there are some businesses that we should continue to operate for the country's economy to slowly recover from a down ward movement.

This NEW NORMAL betting is the answer for the government to continue the operation of casinos or sports matches where they can get a profit or taxes.

For sure a lot of this sports betting, casinos, etc. is going back to operation since they are going to lose a lot of money if they don't.

A lot of them are going to find a new way to implement their business since a lot of them could be restricted because of pandemic or COVID-19. A lot of people is going to be a risk and might not be interested if they don't have a strict rules and regulation in their business so it's necessary for their clients and their business as well. Let's just hope that it will not be the cause of the spread of the virus in different places.
2353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies take my advice on: June 14, 2020, 02:48:41 PM
Warning strictly for Newbies!!!

Do not ever try or think about getting loan or borrowing money to trade altcoins or invest, the damage will be so disastrous, many did this mistake in 2017 when all crypto coins are booming but I can tell you that until today they are still in heavy debt, losing your hard-earned money is better than losing loan money, imagine the frustrations Huh

Crypto investment is a high risk investment plan and they only way to get by is investing only what you can afford to lose... take my advise and let it sink in your head.

Sincerely I stand with you, anyone taking such steps to borrow is only killing himself, even those who  are investing more than they have are feeling the heat let alone someone who borrows. The simple way to do things, especially when it comes to investing is to stick to how much your account can bear without it affecting your personal life. The volatility of the crypto space is too much for someone to lack the right approach to investing. Lastly, I also have the mindset that it is not only for newbies but for everyone, because there are people who are still moved by hype.

Maybe without enough experience in the field, a lot of newbies need to play safe and maybe do a lot of research first before going for investment even if it's, not a loan.

Getting a loan is not a bad thing but you should know the risk of getting a loan or borrowing money for trading if you borrow BTC in the coming years or months the market value of the BTC you borrow could also increase its value over time or if your lucky its might do down.

If you have the money you could do a loan and still have the funds if you need it. But at all time the best thing to do is to risk your own money not a loan because it might be disastrous.

2354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One mistake and l have lost all bitcoin on: June 14, 2020, 02:15:12 PM
1.How did I lose my bitcoin?
I learned about the ETHBull and ETHBear Token which is the 3x leverage token of the FTX exchange. The price of ether was then below $ 100

At that time the price of ETHBear was $ 30 when I invested. Then the price of the Ethereum was around $ 120. At the same time, I panic and I made all my investments on ETHBear in the face of huge profit.

2.Big mistake of my life Angry Angry  Angry

this investment was done at the behest of a youtuber which proved to be a big mistake in my life. Now I have thought that do not invest at the behest of others.

When I lost my entire BTC, I felt very bad, please do not do it.

                                  Thanks for all

In my opinion, there are only a few cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, in the prospects of which there is no doubt, therefore, long-term investments in any amount in these cryptocurrencies will bring real profit to the owner. All other cryptocurrencies, as well as not too popular projects, carry a huge risk for the investor. Of course, in most cases, cryptocurrency users invest their funds not only based on the results of their own observations and full analysis, but also invest under the influence of active advertising, which is one way or another the engine for any project in the cryptocurrency market. But I believe that you should provide all the information about the projects and specifically about the owner of the YouTube channel, which seems to almost trap the investor. at least the community should be aware of the fraudulent actions of certain bloggers if they see unacceptable actions in their activities.
There is only one incomprehensible thing, when you say that you lost all your bitcoins, although in fact you invested in other cryptocurrencies in the project.

Maybe it could be a lot of YouTubers or youtube celebrities are very influential and a lot of companies are using them to promote something like an investment like this.

For sure a lot of them didn't really know the risk of investing in different platforms etc. Since they are just getting paid to do this and not really their own content a lot of people will be influenced to invest too if they see their favorite youtube promoting the thing. I've seen a lot of people loss a lot of money just because they fall into this, don't invest unless you know that you are trusting someone the have experience in the field.
2355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Fake Kraken Twitter Account on: June 13, 2020, 08:00:29 PM
Be careful, there is a fake Kraken twitter account. The UI is very similar and even the tweets are exact replicate. But you look at the spelling, it's obvious that this is clone site using homographic attack vector (typo squatting).

FAKE:
Code:
https://twitter.com/kakenfx

Real Kraken account: https://twitter.com/krakenfx

I guess its obvious since we could identify the real account if it has the blue check and also the followers.

Maybe we could just report the other account of pretending to be someone else so that the account will be block or deleted on Twitter. The fake account is trying hard  Grin .
2356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Coronavirus affects Bitcoin and when it will end on: June 13, 2020, 07:06:40 PM
We do not yet know how long the outbreak of the coronavirus will last. It will depend on the discovery of an effective and readily available vaccine. The vaccine may actually have a few more years in the overall field in the next one year. It is very difficult to say how Bitcoin is affected by the Corona virus crisis. But everyone should be mentally prepared for this.

Pandemic is probably going to last for years around the globe a lot of countries have low cases of COVID-19 but there are also a lot of countries that still don't even recover from the pandemic.

We market is already recovering from the dumps in the past months that I could probably say because of the pandemic or effects of the pandemic in the market but for sure the market is already recovering and sustaining its market price we could even see bitcoin market price back to 9k$.
2357  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Lost password and all access on: June 13, 2020, 05:50:50 PM
Try to reach out to WalletRecoveryServices (if you have an idea about the password and its complexity), I think they're the only ones who support cracking BIP38 wallets. They charge a 20% fee if they manage to crack it.

You could still try this suggestion but if you could just remember your password then it might increase your chance to recover your account.

Most of the time is already lost if you don't have your BIP38 key, I didn't try the WalletRecoveryServices but a lot of people still doubt them but I've seen good reviews too.

You could check this topic for some reviews:

2359  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Show total Received and Send merit on the Merit summary page. on: June 12, 2020, 04:21:08 PM
One of those things is the Signature Campaigns Management, to filter the spammer and shitposters now the campaign managers required a certain amount of merit to be earned in the past 120 days in order to accept participants.
Although I like the suggestion, I don't think the forum should adjust to make it easier for signature campaign managers. And they still need to review the Merited posts to check if the Merit was earned.

A third party service can easily provide this without involving Admin. I've been thinking about offering my scripting-services (example) for the benefit of campaign managers, but didn't get to make a topic yet. Apart from this example I have a much better working system to review and count posts, but it's non-public.

I like the suggestion and it would make it easier to check the merits and the merits earn in 120 days for a lot of users.

But @LoyceV have a point here, Hmmm I guess its because we need the information of merits for joining a signature campaign which should not really be the focus or should not be the focus here in the forum. Maybe we should focus or improve other parts of the forum which is more important than this matter.
