2341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox won't "indulge" us with an answer to conflict of interest. on: June 23, 2011, 04:43:04 PM
The market will decide.

If enough traders pull their funds and don't use them, they die. If they stay, they live. It's pretty simple.
2342  Economy / Marketplace / Re: BITCOIN FLASH PYRAMID - INSTANTLY EARN 10% - NO WAIT TIME! on: June 23, 2011, 04:36:53 PM
I'll happily add my own account as double-secret-probation-escrow, in the event of the contest ending in a draw, I promise to hoard the coins until the price reaches $100.

See below...

Thanks!
2343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why no decent price app? on: June 23, 2011, 03:32:48 PM
I've seen a site circulating that had some competing bid/offers of different exchanges, but I would like to see a GBBO (Global Best Bid/Offer) synthesized out of that data.
2344  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Value of Gold Value of Bitcoins on: June 23, 2011, 03:31:00 PM
If someone made a gold coin with an embedded chip that contained 1 bitcoin, I think everyone's head would explode. Also, I like the idea of having a physical coin, for the irony. It wouldn't be practical, more of a collector item.
2345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: .bitcoin top-level domain coming soon? on: June 23, 2011, 03:25:37 PM
It would be easier to have your own bitcoin DNS server to redirect to a custom domain.

Even that would cost of course, seeing how bandwidth and hardware aren't free...
2346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining on: June 23, 2011, 03:19:32 PM
No, sorry, douchenozzles won't keep the video card cool enough. Maybe a full immersion technique, but that is beyond the scope of this thread.

I don't mind the video cards exploding, just as long as they're not near anything flammable, that could get nasty quick Smiley

At least difficulty would actually go *down* for once. What an event that would be!

Keep 'em comin' folks!
2347  Other / Off-topic / Re: Stuck USB stick with 500 BTC...is it gone? on: June 23, 2011, 08:35:11 AM
I'm touched by your story.

Please submit a donation to the "allinvain" sub-par security church (address below) for consideration. Induction into the "BTC Fool" sainthood will be judged, first by how much BTC you lost, and the tenacity of your efforts to get the media to parrot your story. Only if you can get on an episode of "Dr. Phil" or equivalent will you win your prize.

Enter often, for a chance to win!

Thank you for your support.

Please, sell all you can.

I'll be there to buy them up from you, silly trading newbies.

2349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just got hacked - any help is welcome! (25,000 BTC stolen) on: June 23, 2011, 04:03:02 AM
Dude, no - I am super serious. I understand the breadth of your loss. Now I know how you feel. If only some generous people could donate to my address below, I would find some peace.

1,000 BTC may not mean much to you, having lost so much more, but I can tell you I do nothing but think about those coins, rattling around some nasty netbook somewhere, scared and alone.

Please, while I know 25k bitcoins is a lot, consider looking deep into your soul and sending something to make up for my measly 1k loss.

I thank you in advance!

Stop trolling. I know for a fact, from my side investigations, that you only lost 600 BTC.

Okay, I see where you are going with this. I know that allinvain has made people cynical with lack of proof, but there is no reason to accuse me of falsehood.

While I would be ecstatic to even recieve just 600 bitcoins, I am afraid that I cannot rest until the full one thousand have been recovered from wherever they have been spent.

Please don't hate, I am only seeking justice in the same manner as the 25k patron saint of non-security.

Donate below, it will do you a world of good!

Thanks!
2350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is Mt. Gox gonna cover the bitcoins transferred out? on: June 23, 2011, 03:58:52 AM
Most likely reclaiming the bits of metal from exploded miners video cards. As you know, there is a pervasive trend in MtGox and Stolen BTC posts, at first I thought they were trolling, but I realized the actual effect such threads.

Every time one of the above threads get started, a video card blows up. The miner, dejected and horrified, hurls the smoking relic into the trash, only to be recovered and stripped by a gang of recycling hooligans. Please, don't perpetuate this trend, the difficulty plummeting would send the wrong signal, for sure.

Be careful, whenever someone posts a Mt.Gox thread or BTC Stolen threads, your video card may explode.

I think that is why they're so persistent.

2353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just got hacked - any help is welcome! (25,000 BTC stolen) on: June 23, 2011, 03:00:34 AM
Also, if you would consider helping me with my 1,000 BTC loss I'd be most grateful.

We BTC losers have to stick together!

Just donate below,

Thanks!
2354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Lost and Found on: June 23, 2011, 02:47:25 AM
I've lost about 1,000 BTC reading all of "allinvain" threads.

Just donate below, thanks.

I've lost my belief in humanity reading all your inane posts.

Reason bitcoin may fail = people like you..

Oh man, wouldn't you know it? After reading your post, my 1,000 BTC was stolen! I can provide the address in blockexplorer if that would help. Just make sure you donate to the address below.

Thanks!

Dang, another Mt.Gox thread. I think I heard a miners video card explode down the hall.

No wonder you guys make so many Smiley

2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I still h ave faith in bitcoin's value on: June 23, 2011, 02:27:03 AM
I find it funny too that the last trade is 15.40 on Tradehill, yet everyone thinks it is going to zero...

Oh, about volume, since it isn't the same volume as Mt.Gox, I guess it would be easier to crush to zero, but jeeze, just doesn't seem to be happening.

It's okay, we'll wait while all the CRASH CRASH CRASH fanatics readjust their theories... comon boys, if it is so easy - why am I not seeing it trade at 1? 0.50? 0.01?

2358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Mt Gox Master Plan on: June 23, 2011, 02:24:45 AM
Every time a Mt.Gox thread gets posted, a miner's video card explodes.

That can be the only explanation for this exponential flood of hysteria.

2359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2.0 - Bitcoin backed by "junk silver" - coin dealers become exchanges on: June 22, 2011, 08:05:35 AM
After thinking about this some more, I see what is going on.

When new technologies are introduced, we try to relate to them on prior terms. Let me drag out the old reliable 'car analogy'. When cars were first made, people really wanted to figure it out. How they would fit into their lives. At first, most thought going faster than 30 mph would kill you (really), and stayed away.

The first autos were "Horseless carriages", because that is all we could compare it to, not having seen one before. So I see this happening with bitcoin. We want to embrace the freedom and open transactions, but feel the need to saddle it with "Backing it with something". Or, "Hey, lets just make it a fractional reserve currency - you know, just so it is familiar."

It is the same struggle that any new technology has to deal with.

I think we need to adopt it, and make up terms along the way, just like we've done for the computer over the years - and the internet.

2360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone hacking mybitcoin.com accounts: Proof on: June 22, 2011, 07:51:21 AM
My balance on mybitcoin is now 0, too.

My bitcoins went to 1MAazCWMydsQB5ynYXqSGQDjNQMN3HFmEu as well.

I had only 0.84BTC, so I don't really care, but I just wanted to confirm what the OP said.

However, it is possible I used the same password for my Mt. Gox account (which I never really used. I had no $ nor BTC in Mt. Gox, so once again, I don't really care).

But you cared enough to post.

CONTRADICTION COMPLETE.
