Just mention your optimism chart more here: it did well in the past even if "past performance is not indicative of future results".

What it could be wrong with Cryptopia? Why their wallet is not broadcasting transactions since December? @tonych will they contacted you for help?
This situation is getting a bit annoying. They don't even answer to tickets anymore

It is a know problem from an unknown cause.

At all: never... NEVER... NEVER! leave your crypto at any exchange unless you are a dayly trader.

Your coins feel much better on your local backuped wallet.

Its almost certainly a wallet upgrade issue - when they upgraded from 1.7 to the current version (with an upgrade in between), it seems they didn't know they had to use an SSD for Syncing. (Just like me.)

See this post on Reddit for more:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ByteBall/comments/7pxko2/gbyte_down_on_cryptopia/
I know, sadly, I know but sometimes one needs to use exchanges. My bad I did that at the wrong time.
On the other hand, my personal light wallet is safe, I have a full backup and I plan not to do anything with my GBYTE before the March Airdrop.
I do hope Cryptopia will solve the issue before then!

$12000 in 6 hours confirmed

Hey Mate! Is this what your beloved optimism chart say?
I know it can do better than that: am I right?  Wink

I agree with this one.  Cool

Do you know what? Sorry to say but I tremendously feel I miss the old fashioned camel running. It's kinda strange the whole rebrand. Can't adjust myself to it.

I am trying to avoid anything that can be printed and/or created out of thin air (i.e. fiat money, tether, whatever)
Do you know there's a thing called bitcoin? I'll stick to that
2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 27, 2018, 08:48:16 PM
I did want to urge you to not hook your channels up to the major nodes forming up; sleepyarc, spock, #reckless, etc but to small nodes.  If it is truly going to be a mesh and not a hub and spoke it is up to all of us to manifest it that way.

It seems you are a bit more up on LN things than I am. I heard about an "autopilot" mode. I figure that's good enough to start ?

I believe the defaults are indeed set up to hook you to smaller nodes, yes.  Not sure I'm more up on it...just read some superficial stuff.

Is there a guide to hardware/software setup somewhere?
I have some spare server hardware kicking around that I might use to set one up too.

Edit: lol Kart beat me to it.
Am I Kart? Grin
Nice nickname!

Anybody has a link to approximate hardware requirements to run LN?
Do you actually need RAID and lots of memory or reasonable PC is enough?

A raspberry pi is enough. Seriously!
https://medium.com/@stadicus/noobs-guide-to-%EF%B8%8F-lightning%EF%B8%8F-on-a-raspberry-pi-f0ab7525586e
Hardware Requirements

The following components are necessary:

Raspberry Pi: version 2 or 3
Micro SD card: 8 GB or more, incl. adapter to your regular computer
USB power adapter: 5V/1.2A (more ampere is fine) + Micro USB cable
External hard disk: 500 GB or more with dedicated power supply

So, futures are done, can we release the bulls now ?

I hear a low rumble growing from the direction of Pamplona...

''Interview: Meeting DECENT — blockchain technology that you can actually build on''

Interesting read, well done. Distinguishing form the crowd of those crappy promotional material is the way to go. Deserved a merit point.
Keep it up.
2351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 26, 2018, 02:08:31 PM
This asshole selling thousands BTC at bitfinex with multiple 200 BTC walls is the culprit of today's drop. And why he is selling so much in such a noobish way, I can't imagine.  Probably too lazy to place multiple 20 BTC sell offers instead of several 200 BTC. Well, if he is happy to lose milions because of his stupidity, so be it.
Who are we to judge? Let him lose his money.

Let these futures die for good and let's see what to expect for the future (!). I still have to figure out what is going to be the price on Dec. 31st 2018. This way I'll never get it!
In the meanwhile I'll open a LN channel. Might help to do the trick

I think everybody who participated and contributed in sponsoring Eidoo throughout the Bounty campaign would be very grateful if any project representative could provide us with any information regarding the payment.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, well, whatever. Please give demerit points to these guys. I can't stand it.

Get a Nexus 4 ($100) and build AOSP yourself.

If there's a way to install a custom ROM on this rugged phone I would use it to store some crypto.

Thanx !
B for Eth and C+ for BTC !? ok, whatever.
paid fud^ Wink  ... umm C++ ? :-D haha

"Bitcoin (rated C+) gets excellent scores for security and widespread adoption. But it is encountering major network bottlenecks, causing delays and high transactions costs. Despite intense ongoing efforts that are achieving some initial success, Bitcoin has no immediate mechanism for promptly upgrading its software code."
Bold text is enough for me. Even if we don't need no rating agency to tell us that since Bitcoin is like that by DESIGN!

Who sodl at the bottom? Ztay wins the prize today

Ok I sold some. My sacrifice to the sharks. Price will go up now. I have excellent record for selling the bottom.
Thanks for the 12% rise!
We do appreciate your help, ztay. But politeness apart, next time just hodl, will you?

On a different note, but not too much, I wanted to remind all of you who correctly picked the Real Bitcoin ATH of 2017

I miss Carolina, gentlemen, moon and Choo choos.
Carolina loves you. She loves gentlemen that travel by train.

The price doesn't move based on good or bad news, it moves based on charts which reflect how investors invest based on the direction of the price.

All of those n00bs that bought in thinking they would make 10x their money are now getting out because they didn't realize the price could go down. rekt!
Fixed that for you.
And it's good they are getting rekt. We need strong hands (hodlers)

This is going to be the Bitcoin chart. You heard it from me first.
Quoting again for reference. It's astonishingly similar to BRK.A
Wait for us WB

It is not meter how many competitors we have. There will be place for all of them, and I believe-Decent will be one of the leaders
Competitors are necessary because without competition there would be no further improvement. I don't want to make names but there are some coins and/or ERC20 Tokens to follow within this domain.
I have waited 5 yrs for Bitcoin to become what it became. I can still wait to see other projects succeed if they deliver what they say.
2360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DECENT Announcement - Decentralizing Content Distribution on: January 21, 2018, 11:34:11 AM
I thought Decent was my best buy in 2016 but the development delays made me exit my investment even if I still am keeping some. There is a lot of competition in the same market that decent is targeting. If these guys keep the promise this project might turn into a no brainer

Hello, the milestones promised in our development plan such as launch of the protocol has been all achieved on time together with some addition - DGo online wallet, GUI client etc. Updates roadmap is coming very soon. Could you please explain what are you missing?
No offence in my words. I am still invested in Decent since the beginning even though I admitted I felt necessary to diversify my portfolio among several competitors (DCT still leads my shares anyway).
I'm looking forward for your 2018 roadmap. I think you've misread my comment Smiley
