Sens. Paul, Ernst, & Boxer Introduce Legislation to Arm the Kurds in Support of Fight Against

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Joni Ernst (R-IA), and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) introduced bipartisan legislation to provide for a temporary, emergency authorization of defense articles, defense services, and related training directly to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Other cosponsors include Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Marco Rubio (R-FL). This legislation would allow the U.S. to provide direct assistance to the KRG, a critical partner in the fight against ISIS. The companion bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives andhas broad bipartisan support across the ideological spectrum.

The legislation provides temporary, emergency authority for the President to provide weapons and training directly to Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces. The three-year authorization seeks to reduce delays in arming Peshmerga forces to fight ISIS, while in consultation with the Iraqi government.

“Defeating ISIS requires active participation from our allies in the region. I support sending arms to the Kurdish fighters who are providing the vital boots on the ground. This Administration claims they need the legal authority to arm the Kurds. This bill removes any doubt that they have the authority and the renewed encouragement of Congress to provide our Kurdish allies the support they need to continue their fight against ISIS and radical Islam,” Senator Paul said.

Consistently, Rand keeps Hillary a point or two lower than any other republican candidate. Yet you'll rarely see it mentioned on mainstream news, including Fox. And even if they do mention it in passing they surely will never focus on it to let it sink in with the viewers.

No crap Congress doesn't act like they even know about it nor do they ultimately care, outside of a couple dozen libertarianish members of the body. Furthermore, these revelations by Snowden don't get the kind of coverage they once did so less americans get hip to it. Oh well.

Talk about pesky versions of authoritarianism, North Korea engages in stupid cultural infringements from time to time as well.

When you're a slave to these high risk passions, things like this are bound to happen. I don't feel bad for those that engage in stupidity.

If you're in your lower 30s or younger and have 10k or so, and you really are sold on what Bitcoin can do, you might want to be north of 50% in Bitcoin. Plenty of time left in your life to earn it back should it go sour. Doubtful at this point tho.

Sanders, majority of Dems favor socialism

With more than 50 percent of Democrats viewing socialism favorably, 2016 Independent presidential candidate Sen. Bernie might be taking away some of rival Hillary Clinton’s steam from her progressive voter base. Even though socialists have historically done abysmally at America’s national elections, the Reason-Rupe poll revealed several months ago that America’s political climate is changing, as socialism continues to be presented in the schools and media in a favorable light.

However, Sanders’ own party is not as inclined to jump on the socialist bandwagon, as only 33 percent of Independents have a favorable opinion of socialism, with just 26 percent of Tea Partiers giving it a thumbs-up. Surprising to many, only 55 percent of Americans view capitalism favorably, compared to a slightly lower 53 percent of Democrats.

With more Americans embracing the failed political and economic system of socialism, Sanders’ platform is anticipated to gain a higher resonance with voters, come 2016.

Mike Huckabee becomes 8th candidate in presidential race and appeals to southern Christians – but not Web surfers – as his campaign site goes dark and flickers throughout announcement

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee launched a second bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Tuesday eight years after winning eight states in the 2008 primaries on a platform of embracing evangelical Christians.

His tech team, however, had a bad morning.

The ordained Baptist minister-turned-politician re-introduced himself in his hometown of Hope, Arkansas – the same small town where former President Bill Clinton was also born – along with a slogan of 'Hope to Higher Ground.'

His campaign website went offline just before Tuesday's launch event began, however, and only flickered to life a few times as his wife Janet introduced him.

Viewers could see a hint of an Eisenhower-era throwback slogan – 'I Like Mike' – then nothing.

Huckabee's campaign spokesman did not respond to a request for comment. A half-hour after he left the stage, the website was still functioning only intermittently.

But Barry is the one that promised another bubble for the price so I'd think his GBTC would have something to do with it.

No kidding. Where the hell is this BitLicense, it should be due pretty soon. I presume the Winks have their operations pretty much set up but will just have to have a review process once the damn license comes out and then they should be ready, perhaps late summer/early fall.

Yeah, I imagine that many of these shareholders are holding shares bought in the 500-600$ range so they'll have to sit back for a while unless newer investors are gonna start placing bids/bets in higher territory in large swaths.

Yeah, this does seem like a huge vote of confidence in the coin when people are already willing to purchase at beyond the ATH price. Likely, these guys are showing everyone where the price will be going if people just hang in there. Granted, we'll need to see more action to make these prices seem legit over just a few speculating.

If you take them at their word, they've said many times in interviews that they haven't sold a coin. I presume they relish their credibility and are pushing a big vote of confidence in bitcoin. And of course, they're already sitting pretty so they have the means to see this through and make even bigger money in the future. Also, rich folk have an ego to upkeep among their peers so being the first to create a monster US based exchange and ETF while making stacks off of it in such an emerging market, will make them superstars at some point.

Detroit prosecutor resigns after saying Baltimore rioters should be shot

DETROIT (Reuters) - A Detroit prosecutor who said on Facebook that people involved in Baltimore rioting should be shot has resigned, after her comments ignited fierce criticism, the prosecutor's office said on Friday.

Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Teana Walsh had posted comments about this week's unrest in Baltimore, which was sparked by the death of Freddie Gray after he was fatally injured in police custody, according to a screenshot of her page posted on MyFox Detroit.com.

She described "large swarms of people throwing bricks etc at police who are fleeing from their assaults" and then suggested using guns.

"Simple. Shoot em. Period. End of discussion," Walsh posted.

The comment, which was criticized by local defense attorneys, has since been taken down from Facebook and Walsh's page is not accessible.

The death of 25-year-old Gray, who was black, has become the latest flashpoint in a national debate over the treatment of minority groups by U.S. law enforcement.

The populations of both Baltimore and Detroit are predominantly black. Nearly two-thirds of Baltimore's population and 83 percent of Detroit's is black. Both communities also experienced brutal race riots in the 1960s.

Walsh called Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Friday afternoon to say she was voluntarily resigning, and Worthy accepted, said assistant prosecutor Maria Miller in a statement on Friday.

Maybe, tho I doubt a few share buys is possible to calculate 10% of the portf at this point. Their broker should sit back and observe before they buy change on a first move. I hope this happened for their benefit.

From what I've read the last few pages, I'm leaning on that no one knows what's going on here, sorry. Almost no volume at high levels is going on, a few buying chump shares at high prices means nothing yet.
