Even though there are many smaller teams in the Europa League the champions have still been big teams for many years. Still teams like Villarreal and Frankfurt won the title in a row in the recent two years though. This might have made people give more chance to such teams from now on. But this season looks different to me.
There are so many powerful teams that have come from the Champions League as well. It feels like this time the title winner will be one of those big teams. It is bad to see Barcelona or Manchester United saying goodbye already though but hopefully we will enjoy this matchup anyway.

![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2Fjwvf503%2FHLTV.png&t=663&c=7WTD5AwNDGmdVw) We are nearing the end in HLTV's list of top 20 players. The 7th name was M0nesy, the 6th name was Broky, and the 5th name was Niko. Only 4 names left. 4. name, to be announced on January 13, 22:00. The Player of the Year will be announced on January 14 as part of the HLTV Awards Show. Can anyone guess who is in 4th place? S1mple is definitely among the top three names and I think it can even take the title of the first best player again, but this year it seems a little difficult because Navi has gone down a bit. It looks like m0nesy is the victim of his team's being unsuccessful for a long time. Otherwise he has made a huge effort in many tournaments so far. I think he is undoubtedly the best player of his team although there are great names like NiKo. This is like a proof that this list is made considering team successes as well. I don't know if this is fair though. Because they are saying that this is a list of top 20 players but they take their teams into account as well. Some players deserve higher ranks because of this.

I have been making live bets on the matches by following NBA for a while. However I wouldn't have imagined an odd like this. Congratulations really. I haven't seen a combined betslip with this much high odd on any platform for a long time.

Lorient vs Monaco was quite competitive just as I expected. I was seeing Monaco one step ahead anyway to get a win here.
Actually they could have made it but they wasted many opportunities. There were a couple of shots coming back from the goal post for example. I must admit that Lorient were really impressive in this match. They made a comeback after being 1-0 behind and got 2-1 ahead. They were nearly winning if it weren't for the goal came in the stoppage time. Ben Yedder really saved the team but I don't think they are satisfied with this score at all. Because the gap with the Champions League are has got bigger now.

I don't know how much good this transfer will be for Beşiktaş. After sending Weghorst from the team they are expected to sign Aboubakar to fill his place. Aboubakar has a really good history with Beşiktaş actually. He joined them two times in the past and both of them were productive time periods. Weghorst and Aboubakar are both 30 years old now by the way.
If Aboubakar hasn't still lost his magic I'm pretty confident that he would adapt to the league easily again and start performing like in the old days. But I still feel like Weghorst is better than him now.

I wonder how successful run Roma will have in the Europa League. As you know they are the newest Conference League champions. They might want to do this again this time in the Europa League. But this tournament is much more difficult than that. Especially in this year and in this stage there are really challenging teams. It is like the quality of the tournament is a little closer to the Champions League.
I think Roma will eliminate Salzburg but it is hard to tell anything about next stages. One of the favourites is going to be eliminated after Barcelona vs Manchester United matchup ends which is a good thing for Roma of course. They aren't doing very well in the Serie A so they had better do their best for the Europa League title.

According to AS, Aubameyang wants to return to Barcelona now. It must be because of the horrible condition of the team first of all. Besides he hasn't been able to play like he was doing at Barcelona. And now there are new alternatives in the attacking line as well. There are Felix and Fofana as well with the hope of increasing the productivity in scoring goals. Nkunku is another player who is expected to join by this summer. Aubameyang will need to work much harder to earn his place in the starting eleven. But I don't think he can be as productive as his Barcelona performance. I also think that Mercedes know what they are doing with not copying the other biggest teams. They still have great engineers and we all know how successful they have been until this new era in F1. They just weren't well prepared for the previous season and it was quite late when they started to catch up with Ferrari and Red Bull.
However at least we saw some really good signals in the latest races last season. We are likely to see a much stronger Mercedes this time but let's see how competitive they will be for the championship. It'd be lovely to see Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes all fighting for the championship for a long time.

Tottenham have been experiencing some problems. There is a significant drop in their performance level and it reflected on their Premier League matches as well. The Crystal Palace win might be a good morale but they have another tough match against Arsenal this time. Besides their schedule until their Champions League match is very tight and difficult. If they don't finish these matches with positive results in general then it might affect their motivation in the Champions League as well.
Because they haven't been like Liverpool. I mean Tottenham haven't been much different in the EPL and CL in terms of effort.

I don't think Chelsea would be very sad if Felix shows a wonderful performance until the end of his loan contract and goes back to Atletico Madrid later on.
Because Chelsea would just think of increasing the productivity in the attacking line to finish the season properly. Even if they lose Felix in that case then they would be ready to pay a big sum to sign another good attacker. Nkunku is already going to be joining the team by this summer as far as I know. Maybe there wouldn't be any need to sign another striker in that case. I'm curious about David Datro Fofana's effort in the remaining time period of the season as well.

It is interesting that some websites are showing Mbappe as injured and some others say that he is suspended for one match. But it looks like it is the truth that he will miss only the Angers match. I don't think this will be a big deal for PSG as they have Messi - Neymar duo. Messi hasn't been playing nearly for four weeks. He must have had a good time in the meantime by celebrating his World Cup title. But from now on the team needs him to start playing seriously again.
Especially in the Champions League his services will be needed very much. Because the Ligue 1 is already easy for PSG but it isn't the case as for the Champions League.

It looks like Trossard is staying at least until the end of the season. Because Brighton have just rejected an offer by Tottenham.
It is said to be even a verbal offer. Trossard has been one of the attention getting players in this season. His productivity has drawn the attention of bigger teams as a result. However I don't know if Tottenham are in such need now. Because they already have very good attackers. They have players like Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison who can play as wingers. Maybe there has been some injury problems for Tottenham recently but they will leave these days behind.

The Manchester derby is also closing in now.
Manchester City are of course the favoured side for the win. But I don't think this match would be too easy for them. Because Manchester United have had a really good form in the league recently. In addition to that they have had successful matches against big teams in Old Trafford as well. They even defeated the current leader of the league there. Guardiola needs to make his players well-prepared for this matchup. Chelsea already surprised them in their previous match by showing a good performance for some time. Manchester United can do better than that.

Liverpool's job will be pretty difficult in the Champions League if they maintain this performance now.
Actually they weren't playing in the same way as for the Champions League. It was like they were focused on this tournament more and this was helping them collect three points in nearly all of the matches. They are seven points away from top four now in the English Premier League. They still continue to lose points because of their weaknesses in midfield and defense. The defense can be fixed actually but they need to transfer a midfielder for sure. They had better do that before the Real Madrid matchup.
Even if Liverpool manage to solve all the problems with the defense and midfield, the games against Real Madrid will not be easy. For Liverpool, the stage has already come when any actions cannot guarantee a result - the opponent is strong and you can lose even showing your best game. Another thing is that Liverpool, in principle, is far from its best form and is still unstable - 3 goals conceded from not the strongest team is a terrible result. It is the truth. Real Madrid are actually like their nightmare now because they don't have a good history against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Liverpool failed against them quite much so far. Considering this fact, Real Madrid have a really nice psychological superiority to Liverpool. I know that Real Madrid newly lost to Villarreal in the La Liga but I don't think this is enough to say them they are inconsistent now. But we are able to say this easily for Liverpool considering their results since the start of the season. Real Madrid are the most successful team in the Champions League as well so Liverpool's job is really hard.

Zinedine Zidane has newly turned down an offer by United States. I'm not surprised at all.
Because he hasn't been thinking of being the manager of any club for a long time. To be honest it would be better to see him managing a club in Europe rather than a national team. I remember his successes with Real Madrid very well. They had great a few years with Zidane full of Champions League championships as well. It is impressive to watch a tactician like Zidane to manage a big team. Maybe it wouldn't be Real Madrid again but I wouldn't say no to a different big team this time.

We have started to see interesting names in top 20 players list in CS:GO.
I wasn't expecting to see KSCERATO and stavn in top 10 to be honest. Both players made a huge improvement in their performances in last months of 2022 though. But I don't know if they were both good enough throughout the year to deserve to be in top 10. Heroic had a really good time period for a long time so maybe this was also a factor in stavn's entering this area. But KSCERATO is a FURIA player and his team haven't been that much successful to be honest. His improvement in his individual performance last a few months should have made a good impact.
