2361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will the Banking Industry kill Bitcoin and keep the Blockchain? on: October 13, 2015, 02:19:41 AM
Every financial institution and every Bank seem to have their eyes set on the bitcoin and bitcoin these days... But being Bitcoin as a currency the main competitor to banks and the traditional financial system, won't it be possible to see Banks trying to stifle bitcoin while investing in the Blockchain?
2362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital currencies to solve problems on: October 13, 2015, 02:12:55 AM
Hey guys, what type of problems do you think the use of digital currencies could help to solve?

Check the following article:
http://bravenewcoin.com/news/de-banking-is-spreading-commonwealth-investigates-using-digital-currencies-to-solve-problems/

Great article.

At last the banking industry is giving digital currency and the blockchain technology the deserved attention. I guess that from here to mainstream adoption it will be easy.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine's National Bank Issues Bitcoin Warning on: October 13, 2015, 02:10:33 AM
The same old bullshit talk.
It is not the first government to issue a warning about digital currencies nor will it be the last.
2364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This new Bitshares thing! on: October 12, 2015, 08:55:42 PM
Hey guys,

Well Bitshares guys are proudly walking around talking about this new thing of theirs. A coin that will have 3 sec blocks and will be able of 1,000 TPS. This will let them essentially compete with Visa!

What do you think about this? Are they up to something or is this compete BS and will never work?

Thanks for your opinions!

And it's not just competing with Visa. BTS introduces a very innovative and interesting concept.

As for a payment method, there are several companies trying to use cryptocurrency to compete with Visa or Mastercard. As an example, you can take a look at the Dnotes current project in which they say they'll have a new state of the art blockchain based payment ready by 2016:

2365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The state of crypto - The only serious thread on the subforum on: October 12, 2015, 08:48:38 PM
Great thread and very nice article.
thank you!
I totally agree with you! I also found a very similar article mentioning another point of view:

2366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Darkcoin aka DASH - The biggest ongoing SCAM in crypto on: October 12, 2015, 08:08:31 PM
This thread is to spread the word.

2+ million Darkcoin/DASH were instamined in the first 48 hours30 hours of launch. (1.5 million in the first 8 hours) Dev tries to make everyone believe it was an accident.

After the initial 2+ million coin instamine, they start using private GPU miners while convincing everyone else it's still a CPU only coin.

In addition, they:

- Lower the block emission 100x (500 coins per block to 5 coins per block)
- Lower the total coin supply that can ever exist from 80 million to 20 million
- Try and fail to bury the instamine by not mentioning it on the OP or the website
- Try to distance themselves from these facts by going through two rebrandings

They instamined at 100x emission and then drastically reduced the supply and emission rate once they had their fill. What a scam!  Roll Eyes

Spread the word, research.

To be convincing you should at least try to find some evidence before starting to accuse. Can you at least post some proof of what you are saying is true?
2367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Introducing the StakeBox, an energy efficient, dedicated staking device. on: October 12, 2015, 06:41:48 PM
After negotiating with some of our suppliers we are now able to offer the StakeBox at a reduced price. Starting today the most common version, with 16GB storage is now only $80 including shipping in the US. Check out stakebox.com/purchase for other options and prices.

I like the device. It is a very good solution for those who want to stake some coins without having a high electricity expense. I guess I'll have to send for one and try it!

2368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to exchange BCN to BTC? on: October 12, 2015, 04:13:24 PM
You can trade your BCN on HitBTC and Poloniex. I would advise you to use HitBTC as they have the BCN\BTC pair and Poloniex only has the XRM\BCN Pair
2369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] leonArdo - Graphical Trading Software available for Bitcoin on: October 12, 2015, 03:56:41 PM
I really like the software. It is very useful and handy. It has a nice and simple interface and it actually helps you to maintain your trading strategy.

2372  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here on: October 12, 2015, 02:13:38 PM
Hi everyone. A friend told me about this site and bitcoin. Thought I would register and see what this is all about.
He told me if i added bitcoin as a payment option on my upcoming clothing (shirt) website that it would help. And details about that?

Yep you can add Bitcoin payments to your site and by doing so you are helping the community in taking it to mainstream adoption. You can also have other additional cryptocoins as payment method in your site.
2373  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: October 12, 2015, 02:02:39 PM
OpenBazar is a real example of why decentralised applications matter. Its the best alternative to the centralized Ebay type of online market.
2374  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Digital currencies to solve problems on: October 12, 2015, 01:37:25 PM
Hey guys, what type of problems do you think the use of digital currencies could help to solve?

Check the following article:

Great article. Digital currency has a wide range of applicability. It can be used to solve all sort of problems. As the blockchain technology gets to be more and more used, new issues will come that this new technology will help to solve.
2375  Other / Politics & Society / Could The Blockchain Prevent the Rise of the Replicants? on: October 11, 2015, 04:02:47 PM
The first time I understand what was the real meaning of Satoshi's whitepaper... I saw the truth...
it was not just one more ponzi... (like my first approach made me think) I realized it was the FUTURE!

It almost instantly brought back to my memory one of the most Cult scy fy movies of our time! BLADE RUNNER
http://putlocker.is/watch-blade-runner-online-free-putlocker.html

I remember to be a little boy seeing a story telling us about a possible future where replicant's are rising against man.
In the future, can the blockchain be used to audit robotic systems and maintain them under control?

2376  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Halvening on: October 11, 2015, 03:59:59 PM
it is evident from previous halvings that bitcoin prices doubles after each halving, so i think that prices will not skyrocket after halving. 500 dollars is what i am speculating, as there is currently no news of mass adaption of bitcoins which can skyrocket its prices.

Yes, I also believe the price will rise before the halving. The tendency is to go up in price since it is the logic behind the supply and demand. However I don't think the price will skyrocket. It will probably double in price.
2377  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Halvening on: October 11, 2015, 04:49:44 AM
yes, I like the title too

like 'the quickening' in the highlander  Cool

its more like the shakening. People don't even understand what kind of shakening the 29th Thursday had. Nobody really understands what money is.

It's like borrowing Karl Marx to be a Communist symbol... or is it a Capitalist symbol?
2378  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: The fee income is the future for bitcoin on: October 10, 2015, 09:15:59 PM
I understand your point of view, but I actually think that it is not realistic. And more, in such conditions, given that mining will be increasingly expensive, mining will be already centralized...
2379  Economy / Speculation / The Halvening on: October 10, 2015, 08:55:08 PM
The Halvening

Spelled like this it looks like we're about to see an action sci fy horror movie. And in a way...

"It's going to be fascinating to watch as we approach the next halving. 41 weeks away right now (bitcoinclock.com).
FORTY ONE WEEKS.
That's not that far off.
Will it ignite the rocket ship? or lead to a collapse in mining if the price doesn't jump? or will we be range bound for another full year?
As other events that were widely expected to move the price come and go (from Gemini going live to the Silk Road auctions) , the halvening sits out there as The Big One.
Moon kids are already starting to hold their breath.
Bag holders are hoping that they'll be bailed out by the halving.
Buttcoiners are buttcoining
41 weeks. It's coming. And the effects of the halving may begin months prior to the actual date. It's been a fun ride so far, definitely getting some popcorn ready for the next 9 months.
See you on the other side Smiley"

2380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: quantum computer is here. and now? on: October 10, 2015, 08:48:34 PM
what is the future of bitcoin with quantum computers?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kTDmsNumVE

From my understanding, these quantum computers will mainly be used for medical research. Though it can be used to crack codes I think it will have no influence whatsoever in bitcoin.
