2361  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to keep Bitcoin while getting benefits on: August 09, 2021, 08:59:11 AM
I use a certain percentage of the current price of BTC as collateral to obtain a loan and earn interest. If the price of Bitcoin doubles, can I get the loan again?
I am sorry that I am totally got confused with your statements.
Because, if you go for loans then you need to pay interest and you will not be in a side to earn interest.

If you mean that you use your bitcoins as collateral and then if you get some USD to lend out then you may earn interest but for that you need to earn more interest than your BTC loan (because for your BTC collateral based loan also you must need to pay interest and those interest-free loans may not be availed for long duration).

Could you please elaborate on what you are exactly looking for? So that, people here might be helping you up to your precious expectations.
2362  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is margin trading good for beginners ? on: August 09, 2021, 05:16:44 AM
margin trading is meant for professional traders not beginners, please avoid it for now if you were planning on trying it out.
Exactly this is what in my mind as well to suggest to OP (I guess they might have decided about margin trading by this time already). Anyhow, for all the people who are having idea about margin trading, must need to follow this topic kind of things to stay safer in crypto trading. I read that some governments are in plan to ban margin trading completely due to higher levels of manipulations.

In margin environments, there are lots of possibilities to make you liquidated when you have open positions will availed higher leverages and some exchanges are malpracticing that as an advantage to make easier commissions.
2363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always take profit on: August 09, 2021, 04:41:09 AM
Sometimes, it's best to sell them at an early stage, due to the hype they create when they first launch. I had two different tokens, which had some kind of value when they first launched, I decided to hold for a while, but then I forgot about them, their value was zeroed.
For most of the altcoins and tokens, I agree that taking profits as early as possible must be a good thing. IF we go for waiting then we will lose value and I have few coins and tokens which finally got delisted from exchanges hence now I am unable to encash them. So, taking profits time to time in this crypto space is more important.

Some people do argue like the December 2017 must be a right time to take profits for all bitcoin holders so that they could buy back by December 2018. In some sense, they are all right but being a long term holders, I never plan for long term/short term trading of my bitcoins.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Weekly/monthly financial statements, which do you prefer? on: August 08, 2021, 04:12:47 PM
somehow a gambler must occasionally make a list for his month in gambling and the income he gets from gambling.
Even you are a successful gambler, probably you will never do that.

When a gambler is continuously losing then definitely he will hate to see his losses again and again which must be the reason why such a gamblers are never preferring to go for summarizing their gambling activities in terms of profits and losses.

When you are profitably gambling then probably you will never find time to go for preparing those financial statements of your gambling activities.

But, when you are making statements of your profits and losses which definitely bring changes in your habit of spending for gambling.
2365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 08, 2021, 01:42:47 PM
I never knew these European countries also play cricket. Glad to see a few new nations playing cricket, these countries are known for football only and since the India VS England test match has been delayed I want to know where can I watch this tournament? I did a general search on Google but was not able to find anything
The origin place of cricket is Europe.

Most European counties are having national team, you may find more information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Cricket_Championship

The current England and India series is being covered by Sony (hopefully worldwide they do) and you can watch on sonyliv web and app but you must need subscription.

(I rarely watch cricket these days and today's India-England test match may end up in draw due to persistent rainfall but England might be the happier side even with the draw).
2366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market is recovering, what steps are you taking? on: August 08, 2021, 12:43:23 PM
Now our focus maintain this price so will growth day by day and perhaps no more fud come to us in next few days. dont forget to always take profits in our trade and rebuy when price corrected.
I have tried to book profits so that I may buy back when prices turn cheaper but unfortunately most of the times market keeps moving up after I started book profits which led me unable to buy back lower than my selling prices. Honestly I will not try to "trade" any of altcoins hereafter but I will simply book profits and then move on to a new coin.

Only for bitcoin, I am planning to add more when prices corrected but without booking profits until end of this year. I guess I might get some profits from bitcoin to cover the losses I made with altcoin trading.
2367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC still top1 on the cryptomarket? on: August 08, 2021, 07:18:29 AM
What keeps BTC so high? If we speak openly, then BTC has no role in itself, it's just a dummy compared to other technologies on the other crypto
1. The innovations which includes the problems being addressed by bitcoins at very first time in human history.
2. Characteristics of bitcoin as a speculative asset.
3. Technically compatible in these day's Internet and smart phone's era.
4. Its strong community.

I guess this list may go endless but I tried to mention only the few which are more vital than other factors. I believe bitcoin will retain its place for sure in coming decades as well which may last up to centuries too.
2368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the crypto hype over? on: August 07, 2021, 08:06:12 PM
For some reason, Elon Musk stopped tweeting about DOGE and even Bitcoin, making people lose interest in crypto these days.
A baseless claim.
What made you to assume that people already lost interest in crypto these days?

If anyone finds time to analyze about the defamatory characteristics of bitcoin then definitely will think about investing with it. Hence, we do not Elon Musk to keep tweeting but just talking to our friends and colleagues alone more than enough to keep moving this crypto space.

Crypto space is slowly getting into bullish mode right now and I guess we will see new ATH for most cryptos incoming weeks which may happen without tweets from Elon Musk as well.
2369  Economy / Economics / Re: EU wants to ban crypto anonymous transactions and wallets on: August 07, 2021, 06:59:02 PM
In other words, for each transaction they want to identify the user who sends and the user who receives the transaction, which is easy if one of the parties is a registered exchange user. If the other party is not identified, the transaction is blocked.

I don't know how those who have their funds in hardware wallets and don't want to identify themselves would be. I suppose that at least they would be very limited in their ability to send funds. And then banning anonymous wallets is another blow to privacy.

I don't know what you think about how this could end up.
I just wonder why no government is taking any step to prohibit the usage of VPN but they are concerning only about the anonymous transactions in crypto space. If all the governments look for regulating anonymous transactions and then they will realize their failure later from achieving that hence they will simply move on by agreeing with evolution of technology along with individuals' privacy.

Governments cannot do anything about barter system and similarly they cannot do anything about anonymous transactions and individual's privacy.
2370  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a speculative asset or as currency on: August 07, 2021, 03:55:28 PM
Probably neither.

Fact of the matter is that bitcoin is a long term store of value asset due to its disinflationary properties.
Don't you find yourself contradicted yourself with above two statements. I cannot agree that bitcoin cannot be either one of speculative asset or currency. It will definitely. Moreover, right now people are making use of bitcoin for both speculative asset and as currency and it is purely depending on how much risk you are ready to take with the bitcoin given that considering the conveniences and advantages provided by bitcoin.

for most of the people at this time bitcoin is being recognised as store of value and asset which can give high profits in the long run but with btc becoming mainstream it will be used as currency.
Being used as store of value and asset may lead to mainstream adoption, I agree. But, when bitcoin will be valuing massively then people may not prefer to use it as a currency. So, I am not expecting bitcoin to remain as a currency or will turn as a currency in future.
2371  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is Happier: Stock investors or Bitcoin investors on: August 07, 2021, 03:16:42 PM
Both of them are happier now, because some of the bitcoin investors was also a part of stock market. They've been dealing with this strategies for so many years, when they seen a declining value of cryptocurrency; stock exchange is their relief.
I'm not following stock market but how you're saying that people who have invested in stocks are also happier?
I read most of the stocks are not performing well but only healthcare and few other sectors which are related to pandemic and FMCG alone performing well and this way, there will be less probability for stock investors to remain happier right now unlike how bitcoin investors are doing from the beginning of this year.

In my opinion, bitcoin investors must be more happier than any other type of investors as bitcoin has grown from less than $10k levels to $40k levels in last one year of time.
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 07, 2021, 02:14:40 PM
At the age of children, they don't really understand it yet. They are more interested in games and social media.
Yeah I have noticed under age people are first watching videos if given access to smartphone and internet and then slowly start downloading games and these days there are too curious on watching youtube shorts and tiktok videos. And I am afraid their next leap might be toward gambling. Because, no one is getting into gambling on all of sudden but most of the people get linked one by one even they start using Internet for academic purposes.

Honestly I believe these days we cannot keep our kids not getting exposed to gambling. Because even television are continuously showing advertisements on gambling and gambling houses then definitely one day or other they will check it out for what is that and what is going on there.
2373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should online gambling companies be responsible for harm related activities? on: August 07, 2021, 09:28:33 AM
Have these companies taken any steps to minimize the harm related to online gambling?  Is their CSR functional? Not all bet sites encourage responsible gambling because they rely on revenue from the losses of  gambling addicts. My question is, should online gambling companies be responsible for the harm related to their activities because of their current failures in the implementation and control of CSR policies?
I have seen that many gambling houses tried self-locking facility kind of things to make sure their core business will not impact their customers in more depth but people do find their own way to breach such things which eventually ending up blaming the gambling houses.

Whatever CSK practices being incorporated by gambling houses, when gamblers are not ready to feel their responsibilities then we cannot expect any changes in gambler's approach toward gambling. Changes should begin from the gamblers which may grow up to effective levels when houses also join with gamblers to co-operate.
2374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: August 06, 2021, 08:42:12 PM
Maybe that gambling site needs to improve their game, interface, or bonuses, something like that, to attract more customers. I guess that will work to get more attention from them so the number of visitors on their site can grow. Yes, I admitted that every gambling site wants to get as many members as possible because that will make them make much profit and grow to be the top of gambling sites among the other sites. But that needs time and constantly update their site to gain that thing.
I think it is not just about being crowded, I rather have 10 whales gambling on my website than a million small fish. Obviously the more people you have on your casino that means there is a good chance that you could end up with a lot more chance to get whales as well.

However since we do not have any sort of method to only get whales, people (casino owners) usually focus on getting as many as possible with hopes that many whales will come that way as well. Once again, this is not because they want a million people, sure that is a good thing as well but if none of them are whales then it is not a good thing, only good if you are brand new casino.

A place like stake for example do not need a thousand new gamblers who will not gamble even 10k a month, they would rather have a guy who bets 10k per bet, this is a fact and I am sure of it (did marketing for 2 casinos in my life). So, the "hook" is basically stuff that attracts whale customers.
2375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is stop loss and how it works on: August 06, 2021, 07:24:49 PM
I have been in trading for some time now and as I become more experienced in trading; I discover some terms in trading that have captured my interest, as these terms help me gain knowledge to maximize profits and minimize loss.

One among them is the (stop loss feature) some exchanges have developed this feature to help traders set limits on their trading to help put a hold on trading once a certain price is reached, but again most traders still run into losses because they inability to use this tool effectively.

That brings me down to my question, what is the best way to apply the stop loss features that will guarantee zero loss, and which exchange has the best and easy-to-use live trading features.
I don’t think there is any stop loss that stops your trade from making any loss at all. There is still going to be loss, just that you now have a tool that can help you to shorten that loss. That’s the actual work of the stop loss tool. And when you’re making use of the stop loss tool you’re the one that sets up the order it takes. So, it is working according to your order. Let’s say that you decide to set it to stop loss at -2%, the stop loss is going to activate once the market goes below that 2% and save you from further loss. If you set it at 2%, that doesn’t mean it’s going to stop exactly at 2%, it’s going to stop anywhere around that.
2376  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbet.io - Main sponsor of Southampton FC on: August 06, 2021, 05:32:05 PM
Spurs at their peak when they did finals would be in finals again, as long as Spurs is good, as long as any team is good they will have that chance to go to champions league finals anyway, and if they suck then instead of getting scored 4-5 goals at champions league, they will do like hardcore fighting at conference league, which makes things a lot better for the viewers as well since we will see more games between close level teams.

I agree in this way, that Conference League is not going to be as boring as people think it is because there will be some quality players and quality teams at some stage. I mean if you see midtable teams in England Spain Germany Italy France sometimes they have very good matches and high quality,,, just not enough to compete at the top consistently.
This is EXACTLY because of that. Think about it, most of those high level leagues have teams at 5-6-7-8-9-10 positions (okay 10 might be maybe too much) which is not horrible, hell I am 100% certain that some teams from lower level national leagues end up going to champions league while much better team in a higher level national league ends up going to europa or conference, that is the only thing to take care right now.

Definitely Croatia or Slovenia or whatever type of leagues do have champions and they are not bad, we have seen that recently, but let's be honest just because they are champions doesn't mean they deserve champions league, whereas 7th of premier league usually is a much better team. That should be the focus point from now on and we could be actually end up with amazing three leagues that would be insanely good to watch, not just champions league but all three.
2377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: August 05, 2021, 08:04:07 PM
What scares me the most about Mercedes at this point is that they ended up somehow find a 0.4 more seconds per lap on their car, I think it is 0.4 seconds faster than Red Bull even, since they were slower that means it could be even more seconds. Which is scary for Red Bull, look at Hungary qualifiers, with 1-2 of Hamilton and Bottas it shows how fast Mercedes car got, that is a ton of pace to be scared of.

If this was just crash and that's it and Max will return to fight then there is no problem, we will see a very entertaining season. However if Mercedes actually found a way to get the car 0.4 faster than Max every lap, then it is going to be a nightmare second half of the season for Red Bull.
It depends on the track.
At the moment it seems Redbull is the fastest track in the fast track while in the slower track Mercedes is better (and is superslow Ferrari is competitive but they stopped the upgrades on cars in April to save money for 2023).

After the summer we will have fast tracks like Spa and Imola and BRB should dominate there.
That is why I said just a new situation, it is not really something guaranteed and we will have to wait and see, was this just one track fluke where Mercedes raced a lot easier because of their car being more fit for the track? Or was it them having a new build that they are testing which ended up making them a lot faster?

We can never be 100% certain if they stopped improving on this year's car or not, and Mercedes usually stops with this year around these times already and on top of that 2022 is a whole new car that will be quite exciting to watch, which means that they should probably not improve this year's car at all, but maybe they did and found something new, I really do not know because it was a very very clear Mercedes win for this race. If it is like you said and BRB comes back in faster pace tracks then I guess we still have a big competition in our hands.
2378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: August 05, 2021, 05:54:57 PM
It is a good lesson for us not to use too big money while we can build a new business that can give us profit in the future.
There are lot of other useful things we can do with what we are spending in gambling but while gambling you will ever realize this fact which is the reason why you are spending all your hard earned money in gambling in quicker manner. I am sure this kind of lessons have been shared in this community for more than one hundred times still people are committing same kind of mistakes again and again which means people will never learn anything out of this forum but each and everyone coming up with their own lessons for others and that too after losing big bankroll.

Found nice image on FIBA page:

End of era of two legends. We enjoyed watching them playing for maybe 20 years. It's sad that this day come, but that's life
Awwww this is a very good picture Sad. It just reminds me of the old days when they were both amazing. I remember just 5 years ago or so I was in a NBA2K league and played with people and Scola was one of my best bench players, he played a decent minute at PF for me and I usually put him on the corners because he was so smooth shooting from corner threes and it was so much fun because nobody expected that from 35 year old Scola but dude was a hidden gem that played at the wrong era, if he was a number four (even a center at the current situation because people play small ball) that would basically make him a very very wanted player at the current year.

Pau at least got the recognition he wanted, he could even be a HOF after a while as well and won two rings with Kobe so his career was awesome. Also Marc Gasol retired from international game as well with his brother, but he seems to be still considering another season at Lakers.
2380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 04, 2021, 03:03:40 PM
Most of them will only imagine "What 'IF' i win 1000x of this amount and i'll be able to do this and that"
That is commonly known gambler's fallacy. As per basic psychology of human beings, we are all imagining like we got super power to manage everything and why not gambling; it is like we are watching, reading and seeing that almost all the gamblers are suffering everywhere still we are assuming they are missing something and we can fix it so that we can make good profits out of gambling.

even if they get pocket money and use that to gamble then they'll slowly develop the habit of gambling disregarding short-term winnings - if they occur.
Even adults are getting into gambling that way only then how we could expect children to stay away from gambling once they get to know about it. There are 200% chances for children to get addicted once they are introduced to gambling.
