2361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin being killed by ethereum dump on: August 13, 2014, 02:07:58 PM
unless they dump slowly.
That's what a smart scam artist would do, after letting the hype build up the value for some time. Slowly trickle out your earnings so as to not set off any alarm bells that could slow the tide of profit from morons.

BTW Bitcoin has already begun its recovery from the low point of 525, back near 540 now.
2362  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: NEW SITE TO HELP SPREAD ADOPTION - PROFIT FREE ORGANIZATION on: August 13, 2014, 01:49:06 PM
Trying to help spread adoption through learning - site is new - trying to add a call center and pay some guys to take the time to teach people via phone as well - This tech for me represents freedom - and I will do everything I can to help spread it.
You have my sword.

-The blockchain is the brilliant technological innovation, and the source of Bitcoin's intrinsic value.
-Bitcoin is merely the first app developed on this new protocol layer (blockchain). Think of it like HTTP.
-The blockchain is the birth of Internet 2.0 and Money 3.0
-Will make you insanely wealthy, if you want.
-Will change the way human beings think about money forever
-Is a pandora's box that has been opened and can never be closed.
-Even if bitcoin were to die (spoiler: it won't), crypto would live on in some form. Fiat's days are numbered.
-Could very well be the beginning of the end of perpetual fiat-fueled nation-state war.
-Will make your corrupt, useless piece of shit government and their artificially propped-up funny-money obsolete and worthless, in time.
-Represents the dawn of the true information age, the age of reason. As long as we don't have a nuclear apocalypse in the near future...

A must read for all those getting scammed into ethereum: http://gavintech.blogspot.com/2014/06/bit-thereum.html

And for anyone who honestly believes bitcoin is being "killed" by this non-factor new altcoin, have a look at the big picture reality:

All of this has happened before, all of it will happen again. And again. And again. And again until fiat no longer exists.

2370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Ordered this to be my dedicated android cold storage wallet on: August 12, 2014, 04:38:00 PM
http://www.everbuying.com/product567122.html

It uses Android 4.4 which is pretty good, and its VERY cheap . It will be NON-rooted - I wont put a simcard in it.. and most of the time in Airplane mode. Unless i need to take some funds out of my cold storage. I will take it online ONLY to broadcast the transaction and then back offline once again.

I will have the stock apps that come with the phone + Avast Security & Virus + Mycellium  << These are the only 2 apps I will install . ( I know the avast security is more just a placebo app lol, the way I will be using this phone wont even have a chance to get a virus)

I think this is much neater and more comfortable than a laptop. Bear in mind I will not keep Private keys on this phone. When ever I want to spend some out of my cold storage, I will open my SAFE take out my phone + a Metal Key <<with this KEY I will then go to my other Camouflaged safe which doesn't look like a Safe but has my paper wallets in there I will use my encrypted version to scan QR code and write my sentence password  to decrypt. Once it decrypts my wallet is now in Send/receive mode instead of RECEIVE/VIEW mode only. I then send the funds to one of my spend wallets and delete the key from mycellium rendering it back to VIEW ONLY MODE. Place everything back into my separate safes. and go spend some BTC Cheesy

If you're disabling Airplane Mode at any time, your funds may be lost. It doesn't matter, when you let your phone access the Internet. If there should be malware installed on your phone, it may wait for those moments and transmit your private keys to some attacker!
He's right. The very moment you EVER turn off airplane mode, your "COLD" wallet has just become HOT and it will FOREVER be hot from that one single moment online.

DON'T MIX HOT AND COLD STORAGE. If you'll use the phone for cold storage, use it for that purpose ONLY!

CASH and other paper currencies can expose users to a number of risks, including counterfeiters and scammers trying to take advantage of security weaknesses in the technology, a U.S. consumer protection agency warned Monday.

Cash and other popular paper currencies such as bank notes offer fewer consumer protections than traditional gold coins and other metals, the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) said in a consumer advisory. The six hundred-page document appears to be aimed largely at new users of paper currencies, and it includes an explanation of virtual currencies and an advisory on how to buy them.

“Paper currencies may have potential benefits, but consumers need to be cautious and they need to be asking the right questions,” CFPB Director Richard Cordray said in a statement. "Fiat paper currencies are not backed by any rare metal or other scarce resource, they are susceptible to TOTAL LOSS in the case of a fire, and at this point consumers are stepping into the Wild West when they engage in the market. They risk losing untold millions to inflation if the government decides to print more of these dubious "reserve notes".

Paper currencies offer the potential for innovation, but “a lot of big issues have yet to be addressed,” the CFPB’s advisory said.

The CFPB advisory notes that paper currencies are targets for “highly sophisticated counterfeiters,” and they can cost consumers more to use than gold or silver coins. It also warns users to be prepared to weather large price fluctuations, as this new form of money is not pinned to the value of gold like traditional bank IOUs.

2372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin BULL/Rally Forming? on: August 12, 2014, 03:33:42 PM
So I seen we've climbed overall from around $400 to $600 with bitcoin, then stopped at around $600. If it repeats, then we should be at $800 soon enough.
This belongs in the speculation sub-section. Flagging for move.

You won't need to introduce them, this isn't some shitty religion. Your kids will introduce themselves when the time comes, just like they do with the internet, smart phone, car, and any other useful tool in their lives.
2375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Bitcoin, US consumer agency warns on: August 12, 2014, 01:55:41 PM
And yet the average consumer gives a high value to anything "government backed" without knowing what exactly it means.
"Government backed" means backed by armies and violence, basically.

When you support nation-state fiat scrip, you support violence.

2377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin changing my ideology from socialism to libertarianism! What about you? on: August 11, 2014, 05:06:46 PM
I think survival (and education) is a birthright, and we should work only to gain access to our various luxuries.

Unh hunh. And where, pray tell, is all the free food and shelter going to come from?
Once capitalism is abolished, we'll have access to twice as much food as we won't be wasting 55% of all food produced globally for the sake of maximizing profits.

Some say capitalism is good when it is 100% free market legit..but all the trouble with capitalism, in the world that we see today are all due to crony capitalism.

is capitalism by itself causing this 55% food wastage or is crony capitalism causing food wastage?

All the criticism of capitalism from Beliathons side are examples of crony capitalism.
I wonder how he would react if I would mix up "soviet socialism" and "socialism"?
I'm afraid that just like theists and their all-powerful, infinitely-loving God, the perfect version of capitalism that you advocate exists only in your imagination.

It never has and never will exist in reality.

This is the definition of economic fundamentalism.
2378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Britain May Embrace Bitcoin As A Legitimate Currency on: August 11, 2014, 05:02:03 PM
The title assumes the sovereignty of the nation-state, and is therefore fallacious and outdated in nature. Bitcoin is the only sovereign now.

In the near future, the only question that will matter is: Will the Bitcoin network recognize Britain as a legitimate sovereign entity?

The answer is: Probably not, because nobody will care about nation-states in the crypto-liberated future. They will be as irrelevant to the people of the future as Kings and Queens are to us today.
