2361  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do You smoke? tobacco/weed etc on: June 06, 2014, 03:18:50 PM

1. Cannabis is the botanical term
2. Marijuana is the legal terminology for cannabis
3. Weed, grass.etc are just slang terms.

1,2, and 3 are essentially the same.  Grin
i thought it was same, because you never tried weed, but support cannabis Grin
why did you support it? it's not good for our body, and weed is expensive too
if someone addicted with weed and he run out money, i think they will stole money from someone and can make criminal action

It is better to our body than alcohol.
And if you are scared that smokers will rob ppl, you should support legalizing because then it would be cheaper Wink
And then ppl could grow it for almost free without risk to go jail.
Smoke of any kind is bad for you, as it is well known to be a carcinogen.

Re tobacco: I quit smoking cigarettes a few years ago, mainly because I felt like an idiot doing it. Every time I lit up I would think, why am I killing myself to make a tobacco company rich? 3 or 4 cigs/day is nothing, but I was smoking 30-40/day! It took me nearly 10 tries at quitting throughout my life, but I finally succeeded and have never felt better about a decision I made.

Re Marijuana: I used to be "chronic" (meaning a heavy user), but have recently cut down a lot. I only smoke socially now. Cannibas has amazing health benefits though and other than feeling sleepy and having a case of the munchies it has no detrimental effects. Also, if you are ingesting it by preparing it in your food the later is not an issue. I suppose penalty of law can also be considered as a detriment, since it is illegal in some countries. It would be interesting to find out if the anti-carcinogenic properties of cannibas counter the carcinogenic properties of smoking it. I would imagine that it does, but I would like to see an honest and proper study done on the matter, not some biased propaganda made for one side or the other which is sadly often the case.

Now that I think of it, using a bong (when smoking whatever you fancy) would likely filter out most of the carcinogens. And so a shameless plug is in order since this is a cryptocurrency forum. Check out Bongger! (Keep in mind the dev is a stoner, so not a whole lot of productivity going on, but still might be worth checking out.)

I just wanted to drop in to say that I think what you have done with PinkCoin is a wonderful thing. I finally bought some last night (TWICE, as a matter of fact) and am looking forward to seeing what this coin does in the future.

BTW I posted about PinkCoin on my blog: http://bitcoinmafia.com/bittys-blog/pinkcoin-breast-cancer-awareness/

Please feel free to check it out and let me know what you think!

Cheers,

Cynthia

Great article, Cynthia! Thank you!

I'm curious, do the cards have anything to say about Monsanto? IMO, one of the most evil, destructive and under-exposed corps out there.

Watching Pink on Bittrex past hour or so and it looks healthy!

Considering it was around 18 sats for a long while, people can finally see pinkcoin as a real contender.

Team and innovation played a big part, community will play a bigger part in the days to come.

Someone is soaking them up fairly regularly at 40 sats.

It could be my friend you are talking about. After telling him about PC he got REAL excited and has since become one of those on the rich list! If I had the means, I'd be one too.
2369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: June 04, 2014, 03:20:26 PM
Bitcoin's projected value is anywhere from $100,000 to $1mil. For all you speculators out there, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it's likely going to take 10 yrs (or more). IMO, cryptocurrency has a long road ahead of it, made even longer due to the speculators giving the general population a sense of mistrust.

$100K to $1 mil for 1 bitcoin?
What is your reasoning and logic behind that speculation? Or is it just a wild guess?

I don't know how you missed it, but if you would've kept on reading two posts down you would've seen that I posted the link to the article I read that says as much.

LLol man. If it is that easy to predict price movement, everyone would be rich.
Nothing easy about it. I have found that most people here in bct (especially the day traders) are just looking to make a quick buck, 10-15 yrs is far too long to wait. You just don't hear people saying, "TO THE MOON... IN 10 YEARS!"

Here's the article that I read.

Rickard Falkvinge - "My prediction of a mainstream breakthrough around the year 2019 remains, and it still depends on getting mainstream usability; a target market cap may be reached about a decade after that happens, as a technology typically takes ten years from mainstream breakthrough to maturity."

Now, risking going off topic, the more important question here is, will people continue to mine btc once it's mined out just for the tx fees and will they have enough storage space for the huge blockchains?

For those who read the article and saw the picture of Rickard Falkvinge, who else thinks he looks like No.2 from the Austin Powers movies?!

oops, only now I understood this payed vote thing!! man, it's tooooo expensive... I'd better stick to to clicking hourly there for the moment hehe

I can't afford to pay for votes either. usecryptos is free and you can vote every 1/2 hour. It would be nice if this coin was on Bittrex or Poloniex. These are mid-level exchanges that are trusted and used by a majority of people. After that you can try for Mintpal and Cryptsy.

I just refuse to watch any Nicolas Cage movies anymore.

The new Godzilla movie is sooo boring. Watch any of the older ones instead. (Even the Matthew Broderick version is better.) Cry

You guys have mined about 15K blocks in the last few days. Wooooo!!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! Bongger On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man how's the distribution of free Bonggers going? We need to reach more people, get some free Bonggers to as many people as possible.

I thought I'd mention a couple of sites where you can do giveaways.

1) https://cryptocointalk.com

2) http://altcoingiveaways.com/

Have a look.

You'll have to try and avoid fake accounts though. Maybe only accounts created before a certain date or something.

Anyway it's great that people are actively mining  Smiley

Thanks OBean I'm going to check the sites out. We've given away about 3.5 Milliion coins so far. Still have a long way to go and it'll take a year or so to give them out. We don't want to give them out all at once either and we want to have different give aways and bounties.

You can check out the list of BCT users who got coins at the link below:

http://bongger.com/Forum/showthread.php?11-Bitcoin-talk-giveaway-user-list

Woooooooo! Weeeeeeeeeeee! Bong!!! Bong!!!! Bonggerlicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's no need since Bonggers has it's own website and forum. To apply for the giveaway, just go to this thread.
2379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [BGR] Bongger! Wooooo!!! Weeeeeeeeee!!! Bonggers!!!!! Yeah!!! on: June 02, 2014, 12:45:04 AM
Finally, Bongger has a new ANN page... again. Looks good!

You should include links to the Bongger website, forum and github. Maybe include the Giveaway (and instructions on how to apply) and the Bongger specs in the OP too, that way all Bongger info is included and updated here in one post. Then post links in all the other threads you made and tell people to come here to learn and discuss everything about Bonggers or to just hang out. Out with the old in with the new, nobody likes "old bong water".  Wink

Wooooo!!! Weeeeeeeeee!!! Bonggers!!!!! Yeah!!!
2380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BGR] Bongger News and Bounties!!!!!!! Woooooooo! Weeeeeeeeeeeee! Bongger!!!! on: June 01, 2014, 05:24:24 AM

You need to make your own links or else people (like me, oops, lol) can change them on you.
