2361  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: centralized post of pirate payouts or other related news to the closing. on: August 25, 2012, 09:47:58 PM
Did not a single lender verify who pirate is? Not one???

Only name who came out is "Trendon Shavers"  http://bit.ly/QDxY52
And this pic that you find looking for that name is quite similar to the one of his "last supper" in Vegas:

And you're still not answering if those 40K BTC are all yours or if it includes your bondholder funds.
Let me put it in other words: You're scamming everyone that bought your bonds.

The subprime bubble was AAA+ compared to this.
I am shocked to not see any offer to buy 40K BTC of second-hand defaulted debt backed by an anonymous guy from the internets

2365  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NYC Gun Laws Ignored; 10 Unarmed People Shot on: August 25, 2012, 03:29:58 PM
Japan has very  strict gun laws, and less dead people pr. year from shootings. Look it up. The american way is horrible.
America already has a SHITLOAD of guns. It's too late to ban them now.

Switzerland and some north european countries have about the same amount of guns per habitants of US and extremely low gun killings.
Even Canada makes a stark difference.

Teaching friends and children to be free by demonstrating it is a much better use of your few minutes on this earth.

That may be difficult under martial law or in a FEMA gulag.

Anyway, an update with more freaking details:

I will prove I have over 10,000BTC freely available to me. If you do not believe this will happen, place your bets here in the following format:

If you don't have anything it would be a scam of n-th level.
Maybe it is time to start a black book or a contest of the 100 Greatest Bit-Con Scams

any other reasons?

2370  Economy / Economics / Re: Does much of gold's market cap eventually go to Bitcoin? on: August 24, 2012, 07:19:00 PM
So....in the rosiest of scenarios for bitcoin and humanity (ie, still a coherent civilization

As a savage, I find any talk of civilization very offensive

durability

Not much durability compared to gold: any SHTF event (from an EMP to coffee spilled on a notebook could mean disaster for noobs), not to speak of the next trendy p2p money which may take off any time.

does bitcoin simply replace gold since it's inherently more desirable in such a world

I will believe that when Indian, Chinese and Arabs forget about gold to buy just Bitcons
2371  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The gauntlet has officially been thrown down by Trendon Shavers aka. pirateat40 on: August 24, 2012, 01:21:22 PM
it would be very good for bitcoin if scammers and fraudsters would be caught and punished.

Time for serious providers of vengeance on the free black market.

If nobody bets anymore you could use the remaining funds to buy some Pirate debt.

Chungenung is looking for someone who buys at least part of his 10K at 60% discount.

It would be a pity to not show off all of your ginormous balls.   Shocked

In which form? Do you have some GLBSE bonds?
2375  Other / Off-topic / Greece Really Is Going To Start Selling Off Islands on: August 23, 2012, 01:01:56 PM

The national Greek tourism organisation states that there are 6,000 islands and islets in the Greek archipelago. Of these, only 227 are inhabited which means that the rest are potentially up for grabs. (Be warned – some are only tiny outcrops of rock so choose your deserted paradise carefully).

If BTC:USD goes as it should, we might as well buy one.
2376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 23, 2012, 10:26:56 AM

2377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 23, 2012, 10:16:40 AM
No escrow, fails to provide any sort of proof he could cover his debt when all it would take is signed address or a picture of the first bits of the bar(s). Yah ok.

Now I am wondering how many ppl here made naked bets.

2378  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Max Keiser - "Libertarians are Intellectually Lazy & Idiots" on: August 23, 2012, 08:59:15 AM
Besides, what is the point of taxes in a pure fiat money system?

This is simple.  It's obviously not to fund the government.  So the only meaningful aspect of taxation is the fact that taxes are "progressive".  The point is to stimulate constant economic "growth" by preventing anyone from becoming self-sufficient.

I would say that it is just to make seem that fiat money is worth something, and force ppl to work for the government (paying taxes to it).
2379  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 22, 2012, 10:26:04 PM
BTC is barely hanging on after the CRASH (It'll plummet like a rock if Pirate starts paying in any meaningful fashion.)

I don't get why BTC is supposed to plunge if Pirate pays. Just to release the panic and drama?
I am waiting some coins from Pirate and have no intentions to sell if I get them, even if I could make some fast bucks cheap.

BTW: it could be advisable to keep an eye on silver too.
2380  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] YABMC :: 55Gh Perpetual Mining Bond :: Coupons Now 2x per Week!! on: August 22, 2012, 09:56:13 PM
Also, please note, that we have hashing power far in excess of the 54.7 Gh/s of bonds sold.  Personally, I have added 25 Gh/s recently and know that hashking and PatrickHarnett have added to their operations since their involvement in YABMC.

Does this means that YABMC bonds are now paying more than 1 Mhs/s ppt?
