Great phishing attempt.

I like how Bitcoin has smarter users, however, this is going to be sad when the little kids doing this to everyone take their show on the road.. ie "IRL" banks that have customers easily duped.  Sad times.

Antisec?
2362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EFF donations and the Bitcoin Faucet on: June 20, 2011, 09:00:35 PM
The faucet is dead as an idea now.

It was created ages ago to give people their first "feel" in the bitcoin world by handing out a few cents.

Way interesting post.  I have been "into" Bitcoin for a few weeks now.  Was in on Gox.  Now I'm "in" TradeHill (or at least pending).  But that faucet, well damn, just heard about it this morning from the Newbie forum, and I have to say that gave me that first 'feel' of Bitcoin, and after having my information possibly stolen this weekend and having to change a lot of online things, it was nice to show up and see a place where they are just handing it out to ensure people get some.

This Faucet needs to exist to counteract the fear that it could all be gone.

Or not.  Either way I liked it and I guess even used it for the true purpose just today, thanks Gavin Smiley

Suggestion to push the chances that you will move both more goods as well as possibly get more BTC related traffic.  Start up an ETSY shop, and give discounts to those who wish to pay with Bitcoin maybe (this would have to be done not through ETSY's cart system I'm sure).  This would give you a proper store front Smiley

Good luck
2364  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just wanted to announce a site I made that exclusively accepts bitcoins on: June 20, 2011, 08:13:08 PM
Shit, I think I might start offering my graphical works out to people in need.  I know so many are motivated to get themselves out on the market, ignoring how they will be looked upon by outsiders (just accepting that most of the BTC community will be fine with them, which is true, but go full force, big exposure for yourself and the coin).

But yes, I must think on this.
2365  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEWBS WANTED on: June 20, 2011, 08:10:57 PM
If you need help with the look and feel of your site feel free to msg me. I'm willing to work for BTC  Grin

Same here.  I mean, if you want something like I did for my signature, done.   I can't stand horrible MS Paint logos Sad
2366  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BTC getting bad press? on: June 20, 2011, 08:05:07 PM
Let the mass scare.  Buy low.  Keep buying low.  Put back into the markets.

Or sell high.

Either way the coin isn't dying, so keep putting money in BUT secure yourself people Smiley
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TRADEHILL COMPROMISED - HACKER ATTACK IMMINENT on: June 20, 2011, 08:04:06 PM
Good times.

Password change time again everyone Cheesy

Even if it is fake, maybe everyone should just get used to changing shit hourly.
2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Plan to Buy Bitcoins During Crash = 40% off all SquareWear Shirts on: June 20, 2011, 08:01:14 PM
Not only do I like a design or two on that site, but I want to maybe submit a design Smiley

However, Friday is payday, so I guess I'll check to see if the deal is still going on then, and even if I have leftover cash.
2369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Preview build of our new client (only for the adventurous!) on: June 20, 2011, 07:49:15 PM
The catch is - we're closed source, at least for now. We feel that earning people's trust is about more than
just dumping the source code. Our source tree also has a lot of work in progress on cool features that we
would like to be the first client to support. Once we're ready to come out of beta, we'll re-evaluate this
decision. I am well aware of how well this will go down around here and I preemptively support your calls
for my head on a spike.

Nothing against that, your choice, your program.   I am curious if you have some credentials on projects you have worked on/been a part of, web sites, anything, that would make me want to put an executable file form you on my computer.  Good luck btw, I know security is of course priority one, but if people want things to expand, they have to think of the UI too.
2370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange Can You Trust? on: June 20, 2011, 07:38:06 PM
Honestly, after all of this, I would trust mt gox the most. Nothing encourages you to invest a lot in security more than being thoroughly pwnd.
It's funny and it's true.
2371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: onlyonetv.com going live with tradehill/mt gox @ 9ET on: June 20, 2011, 07:37:45 PM
+1. LOL. Love your sig. BTW.
Like government stimulus is the essential drug for the mainstream economists, Bitcoin is the best made financial porn for geeks, I am lovin' it.
Please donate to keep the signature alive :p

Yeah, as someone who has enjoyed the stock market, video games, and of course porn, I really like that analogy.

Staring at the charts is making my head hurt, just waiting for the markets to be stable again, and will buy back, good or bad, when TradeHill or Gox comes back up proper.  Still tons of faith in the coin and what it is standing for to know that people will just now stay away from places that gather coin in one place, that whole decentralized part of Bitcoin will be more of a reality for people who are invested in this idea.   Market trading is just for those people, the market itself has people that will be buying and selling even if the coin is down a bit for now.  Because really, it is still worth a lot more than it was not too long ago, where most merchants had their money invested anyways.

tl;dr Fuck charts, market will continue to be a gamble like any market should be, the coin itself will continue based on what it stands for alone.

Digging the unprofessionalism of the video overall so far, like homemade porn, still watching now, surprised this doesn't have more views.
