2361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 16, 2022, 09:00:26 PM
Well i cant put more words, the video says it all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsB15QKz9No&ab_channel=EBDSports

I really think this damage the trust in the sports bets , or anything related to the sport gambling, i know a lot can say its a kind of protest but still really unclear.

What did I just watch?  Cheesy Cheesy
Those players are plain clowns and paid to come to play nonsense for the league else no credible player will want to play with his career, the way they did it looks even too stupid and I'm surprised that the fans didn't invade that pitch in crowd.
This is just one of the reasons why I don't watch local leagues, so much corruption and manipulation of matches and this is clearly one of them, I hope FIFA is watching these and should take action against those who organised this event because this is a taint on them.
2362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Casino tokens such as BFG, OWL or TFS on: July 16, 2022, 07:02:25 PM
It looks like all cryptos went down in the past few weeks/months, Bitcoin is down, Ethereum is down.

Among the few ones that actually haven't lost a lot of value are cryptos that represent gambling sites, for instance:

  • BFG for BetFury - they offer currently up to 76% yields per annum on the BFG token that is paid in other cryptos such as USDT, BNB etc.
  • OWL for OwlGames - they offer 43% per annum on their OWL token, their currency has actually went up in value whilst all other cryptos went down - and why? Anyone knows?
  • TFS for FairSpin - not very popular but represents FairSpin, didn't go down in value much either.

Are these things similar to what we had in the 1990s and 2000s before Crypto - like buying "William Hill" or "Ladbrokes" stocks? Is it more or less the same thing just in Crypto?

And why OWL keeps on going up in price? Honestly their site doesn't seem to be very unique or impressive - anyone has a credible explanation who is behind the price rise of that OWL token?!

 Huh

I wouldn't compare them with rest of the tokens out there since they have a good use case and such will help grow the value of their tokens. However, looking at the three of the tokens you made mentioned, TFS is the only one with too much total supply, it wouldn't go far when you compare it with others and also, buying these tokens for the sake of APY reward in USDT and BNB is not too convincing. I know they are trying to avoid dumpers but they should build and increase the utility of the Casinos, they would worry less about those that will dump their rewards.
2363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: July 16, 2022, 06:41:29 PM
my experience is not big but
I think the fall of bitcoin for gmblrs is OK
you can buy it while it is cheaper as was said above
I think you can use other cryptos
bitcoin is just the most hype

Did you call Bitcoin the most hyped coin? You must be really good at making comparisons about altcoins with king BTC. You were fair in your first statement and then change your tone in the last paragraph. I hope you make a deposit next time on a Casino that supports Luna and other shit-related tokens.
If you play on a Casino that keeps a balance on bitcoin, buying bunch of bitcoin right now is the best as you will get more value when the price appreciates and have more dollars to wedge and less satoshi to pay the casino on games to play.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] Should Gambling be Banned? on: July 16, 2022, 05:28:39 PM
Allow me to use this analogy: Just because alcohol is abused and intoxicated by some people, I haven't seen the call for its ban, why should gambling be banned? Besides, it is a financial instrument for some people, they have made a lot of fortune from it.
I'm not too familiar with casino games but I can wage my last card for my club when they have matches against their opponent and when they are playing against a weak opponent, I may even stake a bigger amount I can afford to lose, this why they called it "play for the entertainment of sport and for the fun." Anything you see on earth has a pro and cons and because people abuse it doesn't mean it should be totally stopped, after all, there use to be warning in most bet mediums and the risk associated with them, I don't see any valid reason why gambling should be ban.
2365  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why no bitcoin swap on Trust on: July 15, 2022, 02:43:07 PM
Trust wallet swap will never support the trading of tokens, or coins into Bitcoin because Trust Wallet operates its cryptocurrency trading swap using the 1Inch network DEX and for the record, most DEX supported Wrapped Bitcoin and other token Bitcoin.
The only option you have is to swap your token into the Wbtc token and exchange it for the real BTC on an exchange like KuCoin.

It is not as if they cannot support the swap of native Bitcoin into other coins and tokens, it doesn't just align with their view of bitcoin. As you can see from the https://www.github.com/thorswap, they can fork their idea but I don't think there is a need to swap real Bitcoin to wrapped bitcoin, holders don't need it except the lenders and some decentralized finance who used it to bridge between blockchains and another reason I think Trust wallet wouldn't copy that idea is that native and wrapped bitcoin is already available in Binance, doing that on trust wallet is will be pushing some users from Binance especially those who don't want KYC.
2366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Its One Too Many on: July 15, 2022, 02:29:17 PM
Still, the player has to claim its right because they win the game if the player already complies all of the things needed for the withdrawal and the gambling casino does not take an action and ignores this scenario there's a chance that they will tag but still, of course, it will be deepen the conversation with the thread by that it can be the judge if they really deserve to get tag or not. Having proper evidence is a must of course.

An accusation has one thing which is been wrong and when that happens, it must be treated with fair judgement. It doesn't matter if the casino has been known for a good reputation for a long time, after all, good guys have turned bad in many situations, if the evidence found against them is valid, they must come out plain and pay out what they own except otherwise where the players must have invalidated their terms and policy, they have that right to penalise a player, especially the cheaters.
2367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 14, 2022, 10:49:05 PM
They can also get more deposits from users if they are very transparent and don't always find a way to hold onto player's money whenever they win a large amount with KYC and later change their mind that the players must comply and do verification even though they said it wasn't necessary at first and even after doing the verification, they should adhere to fair policy and allow users to withdraw their money, which will instil some level of confidence in the player. That money they withdraw will either directly or indirectly return to the casino, it could be they are putting the integrity of the firm they played and won with to the test.
2368  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why no bitcoin swap on Trust on: July 14, 2022, 10:27:02 PM

@2stout, that is what am worried about that I may likely find it difficult to transfer out the WBTC to exchanges after I have swapped to it or any other wrapped token of its kind. Is there another way to do it?

It is not difficult as you think if you have wrapped BTC or any other tokens, your choice of chain is arbitrary but fees should be your number one scale of preference. Most exchanges accept wrapped tokens be it BTC, coins or tokens, click on the deposit and you will see a drop-down menu of any blockchain they support, the popular ones are Ethereum, Solana, and Binance smart chain.

But do you really need wrapped BTC? It is stress and workload with all these conversions and swaps.
2369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In the next couple of years you will regret not taking bitcoin ✈️ flight on: July 14, 2022, 10:12:29 PM
A lot of shit coins out there have deceived people in cryptocurrency instead of them putting everything into Bitcoin they chose to was resources on shit coins and other stock, this set of people will regret not puttin100% into Bitcoin give them the next 5 years from now a lot will regret not getting on board on totality.

It is their choice, you can't force people to invest in something they don't want to but don't get tired of advising them to embrace bitcoin, some of them will learn after they get rekt especially during this kind of bear period that things are so hard for all altcoins. I also don't blame them sometimes because I was in one live stream on Tiktok and this guy probably gave many of his followers instruction to buy some shitcoins which didn't go as planned and was assuring them that bull run happens like crest wave yearly, i.e it will collapse a year and rise the second year, he was giving them words of confident that it will rise back next year and I was just shaking my head and smile. It is not as if they don't want to buy bitcoin, it is just that they receive wrong orientation from the beginning.
2370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful what you wish for, it might happen on: July 14, 2022, 09:51:07 PM
Sadly many wouldn't want that to happen because they wouldn't be able to do their usual fouls like favouritism, the corruption they called networking and cheating. I see nothing wrong with being taxed from your income, the only problem I see is how these taxes are allocated, spent, and get stolen by some groups. However, I think decentralization will solve this because you can't manipulate a public ledger that is visible to everyone, you see why decentralization will be massively rejected.
2371  Economy / Economics / Re: The fear of Bitcoin monopoly in El Salvador on: July 14, 2022, 09:25:04 PM
This move was unwelcomed by citizens as they grumbled over the supposed waste of public funds

This is funny and I somehow pity them with their ignorance, was not/it is not a forced currency imposed on people but as legal tender which means it can be used as a settlement of debt and exchange of goods without any problem within that jurisdiction, no business entity is or was forced to accept bitcoin, its a choice.

With it's adoption, the government introduced the use of chivo wallets because of its efficiency and lack of credit consumption

My concern about this Chivo wallet is that it is centralized storage which is not in line with my view of bitcoin adoption, every bitcoin in those wallets are watched and if things go south, they could be seized and even get arrested, you know the government and their shitty head especially if there is a change in the government or if another party take over democracy in El Salvador.

Quote
Granted, Chivo is a public ledger, hence the citizens can be aware of transactions and all that. But where I need your opinions is on this: can it be made public enough to scare off monopolists?

Same as I have said above, using of that centralised app is not a good choice of the wallet if Bukelle wanted bitcoin for everyone and not somebody(government).
2372  Economy / Economics / Re: The Growth of Bitcoin ATMs by Country on: July 14, 2022, 09:10:44 PM
Currently, the number of Bitcoin ATMs by country can be seen at https://coinatmradar.com/countries/ shows an increase in usage. Will the number increase or decrease due to the impact of the projected global economic recession that will occur in the future??

I have checked through the website and i must confess that I really find it very interesting but it is odd to me that in the whole of Nigeria, it has just two ATMs and all in Lagos. I'm not unsatisfied about them being in Lagos but the fact that it is just two could either be that the query was manually designed and doesn't automatically search or perhaps they don't want it all to be seen by the government. The Nigerian government has placed a restriction to crypto investors, it is possible that some are hidden from the regulators.
I have a question by the way, how do ATM machines work technically? I'm really interested in the behind scenes.
2373  Economy / Economics / Re: Capitalizing on the strong US dollar? on: July 14, 2022, 04:08:41 AM
I'm completely ignorant on buying currencies as a hedge or a safer place than the US dollar.

With a strong dollar would it be wise to scope a few percentages of like the Swiss Franc?

Is there anything like strong in paper currency? If there is, I don't think there will be parity between Euro to USD. As long they are fighting inflation by printing arbitrary paper with values written on them, they will always struggle to maintain them during crises.
Don't ever make the mistake of buying a currency as a hedge against inflation, you could buy as many bunches you want but trust me, in a few years time, you will only be able to spend them on pairs of shoes, clothes and dinner.

Just a thought I've never had before.

I hope you have heard of Bitcoin, buy it, secure it, and hold it for some time, you will know how transparent and very efficient it is to capitalize your investment on Bitcoin.
2374  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: July 14, 2022, 03:37:24 AM
Different people different choices. Some people like to rely on signature campaign while the other people want to work and enjoy other jobs as well.
That is personal choice - as long as the signature campaigns are running one should enjoy it. On a side note - why we are scared of signature campaigns to end? We have lost so many jobs in our real life - we find the other options when one door closes, have faith.

Learn to speak for yourself, and don't generalise people's mindsets. I have been following this thread and I haven't come across a comment that said they rely on this forum for a living, it is maybe a side hustle but wouldn't sustain you right now as a single person talk more of it as a family icon.
Again, you should also know this, there is no signature as forever, it is a privilege that you may enjoy for some time but most of them usually end with PAUSE until the team announce if there will be a continuation, most likely, that use to be the end. Now tell me, will you want to rely on such a stipend as a source of income.
You should also consider inflation especially now that we are in crazy times that almost all currencies are dying to hold their purchasing power, if the federal reserve is showing a CPI of 9%,  wonder how you want to manage signature payments to put food on the table. Besides, this is the US we are talking about as a developed country, Lord knows what developing and under developing countries, inflation will be right now.
2375  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How quick does the market grow during bull market? on: July 12, 2022, 01:29:36 PM
Let me quickly add this; I hope the coins or tokens or you are doing daily cost average are not shitcoins? The reason behind it is for your future return on investment. Most altcoins are a disaster if you hold them, some will bounce back after the bear market and many of them die and the few that do recover don't usually break the resistance of previous all time. If you happen to buy from the top to the bottom, you may likely not get back much profit that is why it's always advisable you buy and hold on to bitcoin.

One thing you should know again, bitcoin has never experienced this kind of growth, the institutional investors and the price discovery($67k), within last year and this year, lots of circumstances have happened that led to the heavy correction of the market, some protocols have become insolvent and now BTC is below 200MA for more than a week for the first time, you see why you need to relax, patience and be optimistic. If possible buy keep buying BTC and hold them in a cold wallet.
2376  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why no bitcoin swap on Trust on: July 12, 2022, 12:37:19 PM
As @mk4 has already pointed out you can't directly swap altcoins for bitcoin as the native chain is different for both of them.Like you can't swap ETH to BTC as the pair is not available and they have different on chain but like you can swap ERC-20 tokens for each other as they are on the same chain and Binance chain native tokens to each other but not to some other chain.

So you have to go through buying some bitcoin through exchange and then transfer them to non custodial wallet or hardware wallets as these CEX are not safe at all.

I've also thought of this few days ago because I'm planning to convert my holdings to stablecoin because of the unstable market condition. But I think it is really impossible to convert BTC to other token because native btc runs on its own blockchain while other tokens have their own too like erc20 or bep2 network so we don't have a choice but to make it WBTC or wrapped bitcoin on a network that we will choose.

It is possible!

Thorchain has that feature, it supports up to 7 different blockchains and as a multilayer decentralized protocol, you can swap between Native Bitcoin (on-chain bitcoin) to other supported coins and tokens like BTC(not wrapped) to LTC, BNB and ETH to BItcoin without being wrapped like other protocols out there.
It involves connecting more than a single wallet to the protocol, but when swapping, You have to connect a single wallet( The coins you want to swap) and then receive your desired coins/tokens at your receiving address.
These are a few tutorials on Thorswap interoperability on different blockchains using Ledger and other non-custodial wallets.

2377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: July 10, 2022, 08:19:15 PM
What is your opinion on Fake money gambling apps, do you recognize the potential I think they have to assist in reducing the number of gamblers who loose real money?

No because Fake money gambling apps is just there to entice players to gamble real money.
Gamblers need a rehab and commitment if they want to stop. Not another way that they can strategize or create methods they will later on try with real bets.

Do you honestly believe that a gambler who has consistently failed needs rehab? Contrary to what I believe, some people are just frustrated, and some gamblers' main issue is lack of focus. Some people simply need to switch up their approach to see if it works again. You never know when the flip of the coin will be on your side.
Fake gambling apps typically exist only to serve as a means of advertising. They will annoy you with irrelevant info and might prevent you from learning what you should have learned in the first place. Using these apps also puts your privacy at risk.
2378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Careful With Your Slot Activity! on: July 10, 2022, 08:01:31 PM
As far as I can see, there is no problem in slot games whom you say on this topic, where your friend was stuck in debt, that in the end, his family is now paying for this debt left by your friend. The very reason why you got into big debt is because your friend got addicted until he became so greedy here that he shouldn’t have been like that. Instead of being careful, it is better to avoid this type of gambling game so as not to lead to a situation like this. Because we know from the beginning that gambling does not bring any good to a player's once addiction enter to the gamblers.

If you look at what the op is talking about, it is a common occurrence in almost all games. These predictions most commonly occur in sportsbooks where some of these sure gamers/predictions offer a number to stake and guarantee that the result will be in the player's favour. It is not because the player is addicted, rather, it is possible that they showed him previous games they had won and winnings they had cashed out in the past and convinced him to stake a large sum of money. The majority of the men that provide this even baffle me how they keep tricking players into subscribing to their VIP shit advice and predictions.
2379  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: July 10, 2022, 07:31:00 PM
Even after knowing what kind of work 1xbit is doing, there is nothing more to say about the accounts that are defending 1xbit. When a lot of members start complaining about a website, other users will look at that website to save someone new from falling into that scam.

So the warning to refrain from 1xbit will make you feel like a troll, that's normal. Because you are a participant in their signature campaign, so you have defended them and are earning from the signature campaign.

If you have a predetermined opinion, you see it through a certain prism. You are looking through the negative prism. I see it through the prism that 1xBit pays fairly and super regularly to all participants of the signature campaign and it is a fact. This is my private and practice-based opinion. Why should I rely on other people's opinions?

Can you read what you just said, if you have a listener, play it perhaps you will know the magnitude of what you are saying because nothing makes a single sense about it. You are completely satisfied because they paid you from the money you are collecting as a weekly stipend, does that means you are working based on the pay rate, you don't care about the reputation they have in the community, you are only posting because you are hired to forcefully advertise even when everyone in the forum doesn't want to see you guys.

Who knows if your account was bought by 1Xbit to put in some statements about them, others are complaining of how their deposits were seized while you are making good reviews, nice try agent.
2380  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: duelbits.com scam me 16K USD with big proof on: July 10, 2022, 05:50:01 PM

I hope you are aware that the Job of the support is to forward your case to the technical teams who handle withdrawal and any problems that have to do with the funds of the user, the customer support can't do much unless he continues to forward your case subsequently but rest assure that you will see your money from Duelbits in full.
This is why it is always better to do KYC at first if you want to use Gambling services, you would hardly encounter any problems with them except when you abuse their system or found violating their privacy policy.
