2361  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The fuel crisis issue in Nigeria and what I found out. on: January 21, 2023, 03:06:01 PM
I'll continuously ask this same questions:
✓ what are the use of the government owned refineries that we have laying waste, getting dilapidated by each day with no government intentions of revamping them but rather stuck their guns on refining our crude oil outside the country?
✓ Is it that there are underlying factor's holding each administration that comes into power from making use of our refineries in Nigeria or are these foreign refineries owned by those in government in disguise?
✓ Is it not same crude oil we have that other countries such as Saudi also do have and are using it to gainfully develop their country and improve lives of the citizenries or it's ours a curse one?
like where did we really go wrong as a people!!

Going by the situation, this is election period and the so-called incumbent party in government are still campaigning for us to vote for them. Like on what ground should we vote for them, if we can't have access to fuel at affordable pump price now is it when they come back for another four or eight year again that we will. Like this is insane, ridiculous and inconsiderate on the part of the incumbent government of which they don't deserve our vote this time.
2362  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 21, 2023, 02:51:11 PM
A very fair result for Liverpool and Chelsea in their game. The reason is that the two teams have the same erratic appearance, also the two teams in this match are both very difficult to create an opportunity. They are still level on points now, with Liverpool ahead by a game in hand. They haven't shown a change, so to talk about them going into the top 4 in my opinion now is not the right time, because they have to improve their game first.
It's better to cast mind away from thinking that either Chelsea nor Liverpool will be able to find their way into top four this season, there's nothing to show that there is an improving on the way. Imagine the form of Arsenal, Newcastle, Manchester United and Manchester City as teams that are currently on the top four position on the table, do they look like teams that would be losing form anytime soon? I don't think so!

The only room for succour to Chelsea and Liverpool this season is the Europa league hopefully, cause the UCL is a no way route as it stands. My personal opinion though!
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why will Bitcoin have value? on: January 20, 2023, 09:56:38 PM
Bitcoin's Utility & Growing Globally Adoption
Bitcoin's value is maintained as it is exchangeable with various products and day by day various circles, famous people, institutions, countries are recognizing Bitcoin around the world.  Moreover, various business organizations are accepting Bitcoin as a payment system for their business.  Because Bitcoin is such a global revolution, its value will always remain.
The global reception that bitcoin had about ten years ago can't be quantified with what it is today and that a milestone progress for the crypto coin, and it's a way to show to everyone that it's value is something that's utility bond and as such the tendency for more and more adoption is possible. Just recently as I heard some rumors that  the Polish government gave binance a licence to operate within it's domain, yes despite it's a centralized exchange it indirectly going to boost the usage of bitcoin in that country which is something.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Basra Stadium Stampede (football match). on: January 20, 2023, 06:38:32 PM
There was a stampede at the Basra stadium just before the kick-off time, and this stampede happened as the football match fans matched up their way to the Basra international stadium for the match between Iraq and Oman. According to the Iraqi football association 4 Iraqis dead, 20 suffocated cases and about 80 injured during the stampede which the match organisers allegedly blamed ticketless fans for the stampede as they tried to scale through several possible loopholes and avenue to have access into the stadium.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.aljazeera.com/amp/sports/2023/1/20/stampede-mars-iraqs-3-2-victory-over-oman-in-gulf-cup
I understand this to be a sad moment for the Iraqi people as many lives of family members have been loss due to this unfortunate incident which would have been possibly avoided given the antecedent of situation outside the stadium early before the stampede took place.
In recent years there has been cases of stampedes in events such as this in different parts of the world. And my position here is, who's to be blamed in such situation just like this one at Basra stadium, Iraq. Is the fault from the side of the football fans or is due to poor organisation from the side of the organisers?
Can we also recommend possible ways with which such cases can be arrested or adverted in the future.
2365  Economy / Economics / Re: Another Boom for the crypto market. on: January 20, 2023, 12:20:51 PM
A lot of policy compliance must have gone underground for such acceptance by the Polish government for binance to operate in their territory but it's all good looking at it on the brighter side as it will encourage more polish citizens to get involved in crypto boosting a wider acceptance and usage, and know for themselves the advantageous differences between centralized exchanges and decentralized.

Even though binance is a centralized exchange, taken that away from them I can boldly applaud them for taking crypto to places and spreading the awareness.
2366  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One of the things that make people to make good content in posting on: January 20, 2023, 10:10:23 AM
I don't know maybe it's me that's not getting your point straight or the collocation of your grammars here but every merit you received must have complied to this posting etiquettes https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184741.0#post_altgiveaway and receiving merit is at will, if you're hunting for merits obviously you may not get because you're not giving the expected result to qualify for receiving it, post quality is judge by the recipient we feels he got touched and imformed by what you have posted and this does not need to be a whole full page, with merit or not people will make good post with a desiring content while some will not.

To an extwnt you're very much correct in addition to the criteria put down by the link of the thread in your comment.  But I'll like to remind you that there are certain posts that do got merit's (in rare cases) out of the discretion of the reader and not because it posseses all the quality you or another person might feel that such post must posses to earn merit.

In other words, what am saying is that, some times readers discretion plays a role in meriting a post.  Don't you think so?
2367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: January 19, 2023, 09:36:48 PM
OP it's as simple as ABC, check in the gambling board there are lots of casinos to choose from. Check their cryptocurrency for use, although almost all the casino's in this forum uses bitcoin.
One thing I can tell you is that in your quest to get a casino you would be gambling with make sure not to settle for the less, engage with one that meets your expectations and interest. Gambling should be fun, interesting and profitable too
2368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: January 19, 2023, 12:22:54 PM
@Sithara007 Saudi Arabia is keen to host the 2030 World Cup, and that’s why they targeted Ronaldo because they knew that his signing would bring almost every soccer fan’s attention to their league and that would boost their chances of hosting the 2030 World Cup. Also Eden Hazard is the latest player being linked to joining the Saudi league, and if he too signs then he’ll play with Ronaldo which will further improve the optics for the league.
The question is whether FIFA wants another world cup in the middle east or not. Many of the fans were not happy with the restrictions imposed during Qatar 2022, but in the end a lot of people were awestruck by the hundreds of billions of USD splashed by the Qataris to prepare for the tournament. In the end, it's money that talks.

Even though it sound so true that it's those with the deep pocket that has the upper hand in hosting looking at how football is now business for many and not just about entertainment and fun. But that been said, the interest of the football fans should be taken into consideration more like priority, cause as a football lover I can go spend my hard earned money in an area with so much ridiculous restrictions to me having fun and catching cruise just like other world cup tournaments that have been held in other countries around the world.
2369  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i am a housewife want to invest in bitcoin on: January 19, 2023, 11:07:41 AM
hello everyone,, I am a housewife who wants to join this forum and ask for your help, so that you can guide and advise me, especially in terms of investing in bitcoin.

as I said above that I am a housewife. and I plan to invest in bitcoin.
and I want to invest in bitcoin using the money in my piggy bank, because if I have money left over from shopping that my husband gives me, I always put it in my piggy bank.

but what makes me want to invest in bitcoin is because,, if you put it in a piggy bank for a long time I think it will be affected by inflation.
so in my opinion if my invest in bitcoin, of course it will have good potential for the future. but I will ask everyone,

is it too late to invest in bitcoin?
because I saw on the internet that bitcoin is currently experiencing an increase.

and whether my decision is right or not, to invest in bitcoin?

please guide for all the friends in this forum?
Like you said your piggy bank might be affected by inflation, you should also be aware that bitcoin is also affected with volatility, so if you want to invest as a house wife make sure to be ready to make your investment a long term one, as BTC market price can be static for long time and anyone without a long term plan when investing would perhaps loss hope and patience and withdraw at loss.

It's not late talk more of too late to invest in bitcoin, but that depends on your investment plans . Is it for a long term?
2370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's a shame people still falling for this on: January 18, 2023, 09:19:57 PM
In this space nobody is a fool except you are totally new to crypto and you decide to take a step without doing research, how can a stranger send you their log in information for an exchange and tell you that they are entrusting you with their money and you believe?

How can someone have access to millions of dollars and you are the God sent stranger they can give the key to the millions and you are promised a share part? Do you work for the money?
I once had this experience some months ago, I received an SMS from an unknown number which was hidden anyway, the  informations the message carried were; password:......., Username:......., And a link I should click on and then key in the said password and username.
Like they said curiosity kills the cat. Though I was skeptical about it but I end up clicking the link ,keyed in the informations as given then an account worth some huge amount of usdt opened, (I can't really tell if it was one of those virtual accounts) , but when I scroll through the account I discovered it requires a payment password. Lol, I guess that's what the sender is in search of and I don't understand why he/she thought they could get that from me
I just had to delete the whole link cause it done on me it was a scam thing. Let's be guided about this trick.
Here's a screenshot.

2371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: January 18, 2023, 08:51:42 PM
For any gambling company to mark out a minimum amount for deposit then that means they must have already made a name, more like gotten a popular brand in the market with a wide patronage too. No gambling company would want to put up a minimum amount that would look discouraging to new customers when they are just starting business and need high patronage, not until they must have gotten the level of customers they had wanted then some rules would now start changing so to condition their customers, maybe to mitigate unnecessary in and out influx.
2372  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining at home on: January 18, 2023, 02:32:49 PM
Interested in mining bitcoin at home, I know that isn´t profitable like some years ago, but it´s an experience that I would like to live during my bitcoin journey.

What´s the process to mining bitcoin? Do I need an ASICs? Can I do it just with my computer? How this works, I need to go to some specific website to generate bitcoins?

Just living with experience in business without corresponding profits could that be encouraging at all. Be careful on what you choose especially for bitcoin mining that's expensive to run, and at the end it's experience only you're talking of, hope you know experience won't replace worn-out equipments but profits can?
Another thing asking if you need ASICs. Yes! You do need it.
2373  Economy / Economics / Re: More Money Problems that Bitcoin Solves on: January 18, 2023, 11:08:17 AM
Most governments resist using bitcoin to coexist with ordinary money because they want to create tough monetary policies and financial scenarios that would have a negative impact on the people. This is done to ensure that they can keep the citizens at bay.

If not tell me why won't any country not adopt bitcoin as a legal means of payment considering the potential that it possesses.

Every day, the IMF and the WORLD BANK will announce how this or that will have an impact on the global economy, yet bitcoin can easily fix half of the issues they are predicting.
No individual would wanna lose possession of it's stronghold not to talk of the government that is power-centric, do you expect them to reduce their power by giving room to competition (Bitcoin) which they very much understand that it's not in there reach to control like they do with the fiat.
They understand the potential but it might threatens their autonomy in many ways which is what they don't wanna see happening.
2374  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I feel happy on: January 17, 2023, 09:36:01 PM
I feel happy because I haven't look at the market in a long time, suddenly the price of bitcoin has gone up, and the most meritorious thing that made me invest is because of my friends in this forum who give me encouragement and support
I hope you would have still felt happy should the price of Bitcoin had gone more bearish from the very price you at which you invested and not cast blame on your friends from their encouraging to invest? Cause volatility in the market is unpredictable and non controllable by anyone. Am convinced your friends must have also told you the bitter side of crypto the journey is not always rosy as it requires patient, carefulness and strategy to stay on board.
2375  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Mining farm electricity requirement question on: January 17, 2023, 09:21:18 PM
You get the transformer from the power company, at least the places I know. Assuming the location can be serviced with such amount of power.
Apart from just getting the transformer from the power company he can also do well to get into an agreement with an electricity company (they could set up every requirement needed) on how much power they could supply to hi. It could be on a cost effective rate based on their MOU.

For a high bettor like yours you ought to earn bonus as some form of encouragement to increase in your bets the more (I thought bonuses are made by betting sites/ casino's to encourage gamblers to stake in more). Or perhaps they ain't bliss with your rate of wins that are far much more than your losses. And this case of OP is part of other reasons  that I always raise, that these gambling sites ain't here for our best interest but in the overall of theirs. They don't care you lose or snooze  Grin.
Gambler should always scout for casino's and bet sites that gives them a sense of belonging everything being equal and, in case you feel dissatisfied with their operations don't think twice to leave for another better one. There's no loyalty in gambling!

2378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be fool! on: January 17, 2023, 08:59:18 AM

I'm not saying this to inspire you or anything. The point of writing this is to inform all of you fiat bros and sissies that Bitcoin is the hope.

You can travel anywhere in the world with just 12 words stored in your brain. We have money that is visible to everyone on the planet. Everyone can keep track of any transaction, very secure and does not involve a third party. Bitcoin held by someone else is not yours. So, no manipulation or corruption.

A thing but visible line should be made to sound it obvious that there's a place for bitcoin and fiat and both plays a significant role specific to each. Bitcoin creates honesty, neutrality and equality in the network transaction among peers unlike fiat that can be manipulated by a few greed persons to their interest but still bitcoin doesn't serve all purpose yet, it's still in it's experimentation stage in many parts of the world unlike fiat that's conventional. When I first heard about bitcoin I had some reservations towards it not until I took time to do some research and study about it, I tested it gradually and finally adopted it for few usage and transact where possible. So for those that have no idea about it and prefer fiat to bitcoin it's advisable to give them time, eventually they will come to it's reality.

As for storage of private keys in my brains or that of another's I strongly refute the idea, it's not a good way to go, for now the best is just metal storage of keys.
2379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 16, 2023, 09:57:32 PM
In gambling dealing with losses has to do with ones psychology, once you have a locus of control of your psychology to accept defeat when it comes in form of losses in your bets then you see yourself not bothered about losing, every gambler had to understand that it's either you lose or win don't be one sided in your expectations while staking your bets in that way you're already prepared for the worse or good results.
The way we don't take winning personal when we win it's same way we shouldn't take losing personal too when we loss or losing, for there's always another day to try again. With this ideology in mind you're in full control.
2380  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are the Whales Control bitcoin price? on: January 16, 2023, 09:35:23 PM
we all know no one can controls the bitcoin price because bitcoin isn't like bank, stock and valas. but if the whales owned 51% of bitcoin, can do it?. if happen, does decentralization not exist?
There's no such thing as bitcoin being controlled by any individual or group of individuals called whales, it might seem they have a good amount of ownership of bitcoin but that doesn't give them a chance to alter the decentralization that exist within BTC. They might influence news and speculations about the coin to trigger some actions amongst the small boys in the market (it's all market psychology strategy) but that doesn't in anyway make them have control to market price outcome.
