2361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be banned or stopped by governments on: January 04, 2023, 10:17:56 PM
Indian government (maybe other also)  say that " to ban cryptocurrency we need global help" my question is : can bitcoin be banned if all government will agree to ban bitcoin

i am something less experience and has bad english so ignore

Did the US government would be part of it? I don't thinks because bitcoin has been already sold by US Marshal auctions - around 185230 BTC https://jlopp.github.io/us-marshals-bitcoin-auctions/
Without their support this can be an useless battle at least for western part of the world.
Moreover at this stage it's kind of impossible and the technology is widespread and accepted by many merchants.
Plus this is a decentralized solution...

2362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The founder of Clucoin just quit after admitting to have gambled investors fund on: January 04, 2023, 10:02:34 PM
I am not an expert, but in such a case, "public admin and public confession", are there no grounds/options for requesting compensation from the investors/hodlers/figures perhaps involved in the various stages of financing?
Its really frustrating see this impunity related crypto projects scam Sad
2363  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: January 04, 2023, 09:47:36 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
How much faith do you have about the crypto world?

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?

personally,q I have something near the 0 as trust in crypto world. I don't trust other crypto project... in the long term these will run to have a meaningless value, and only few projects (maybe) could survive.
Its completely different if we are talking about bitcoin because I have trust in bitcoin and in the blockchain related to bitcoin.

I think people can store their wealth in bitcoin but only at condition they understand what is it this technology, how it works and what is the advantage/disadvantage of a solution like this.

wow really awesome Wink it is a nice idea to enhance such a piece
I think several "options" can be printed also for other coins as suggested by @Kryptowerk
Just fit the "pocket" where the coin rests and it's over...

However the idea/design it reminds to me "Uncle Scrooge" and his "Number one" (Zio Paperone e la Numero Uno)...

I hope for @gbianchi this is the first piece of a long series and this is just a start Wink
2366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 04, 2023, 12:11:42 PM
The industry has not interest to have an "educated" player, and hence in some cases is something impossible because it means provide a real education about maths/stats and so on...

I think that the real factors that lead to addictive gambling are intrinsic of player approach... First of all the lack of information about the real chance of win or RTP. Most players are missing from such basic information. It's like smoking cigarettes or using drugs. You know that these are giving addiction and you don't start to use! You have a basic information about this argument...

By the way I think that all information/factors illustrated in this topic, mixed together will lead to addiction! Probably some players are more inclined to become addicted to gambling...
2367  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: January 03, 2023, 10:22:30 PM
Nice idea to ask directly to forum members! I think you can setup a poll with the most/popular suggested options Wink

Meanwhile, I think my favorites are "free rolls" like some free games in slots, "free bets" likewise a bonus of xx usd that need to be wagered xx times only for certain games.
Nice bonus are related to free cash bonus for VIP / people that played games with low RTP.

Others funny bonuses are related to cashback or bonus linked to specific games (likewise collect xx usd if you get 3 Blackjack in a session...)

2369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing national lottery smart or waste of time? on: January 03, 2023, 03:05:55 PM
I have never bought a lottery ticket in my life.
I consider it a waste of money, a vain hope, in short, something that "potentially gives the illusion of being able to win" but which on balance is really impossible to achieve... ok people like to dream but... Roll Eyes

Many are inclined to gamble because they would like to change their lives, but statistically only a fraction manages to get a big result. If you count how many tickets are played and the number of people able to achieve a decent winning, you could realize how it is really impossible something like this.

I have found several news here in Italy about people not able to "handle these avalanches of money", and they have wasted big fortunes in a matters of a couple of years.

I don't like these "big groups" full of people that are wasting time posting such useless prediction...
I can have some hints by reading suggestions from some reputable experts about a sport, I can take information everywhere...personally I prefer basic stats... At the end the final decision or "the interpretation" on a bet is only on my own! I will never delegate to anyone this choice Wink
2372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 02, 2023, 10:10:32 PM
Happy new year people!

I'm curious as to what the ratio is for users on this forum in terms of sports vs casino betting.

I personally bet on sports 95% of the time because you can actually make money on it.

Slots and other casino games are a waste of time in my opinion.

I can't understand why people would waste their crypto on casinos where the odds and algorithms are stacked against you.

I am planning to put 3-6 BTC on Novak Djokovic to win the 2023 Australian Open.

I just need to find a trustworthy sportsbook who will not only accept the bet but pay me too.

I've heard and read too many horror stories.

most of us will play much much more on sports bet.
about Nole betting, I don't know your size wallet, but this seems to me a really risky bet with an huge amount... probably he can win (of course he is the favorite... ) but after he loss against RUNE the final of Paris Masters, I will play on him carefully and be ready to cashout.
If you have seen this match I think you can easily understand my point of view Wink

2376  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Auction - Bid on a prize where 98% of each bid is added to the prize. on: December 31, 2022, 05:53:16 PM
the idea itself is something funny and a nice application of betting with blockchain but a whale could easily have a monopole on that game vanishing all players effort to get a result Sad
I think it should be added some "lucky" factor not related only to bigger bets....
24 hours is a long time to place a bet... whales will have time and interest to place a bigger bets even I am not sure most of players will participate since it can be easy get "trapped" with higher and higher amount Wink

2378  Local / Off-Topic (Italiano) / Re: Sprechi energetici. on: December 30, 2022, 10:55:37 PM

2379  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 26 BTC Stolen on: December 30, 2022, 10:44:57 PM
....
I received a screenshot of the BitcoinTalk message I had sent to minerjones which is how I had confirmed that it was the same user from here.
...

did you have a screenshot of this conversation ? did you saved the image of PM received on telegram?
I think this is the most weird part also because:

Quote

Being able to access to PMs is one of the bounty https://bitcointalk.org/sbounties.php regarding forum security...
I don't want to doubt what you say, but actually you were clearly told (to your direct question) that you were interacting with a scammer/impersonator...
