2361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 03, 2022, 03:14:04 PM
I believe that Curry would still be a great player if Kerr wasn't their coach.

Stephen Curry creates his own specialty as his advantage and the process is successful.

He sucks at inside scoring before and can't even do a good defense. When he entered the NBA, lots of big men are dominating the league at that time. He thinks of a way how to be a useful player so he decided to enhance his shooting ability in the 3pt area and that's the start of how he changed the most offensive plays that are now being used now in the league. No need for him to always drive the ball inside for a sure shot.

That was Curry's own plan for his development that's why regardless if Kerr wasn't their coach, the result is just the same.

I mean that’s how Curry’s game has been I would imagine his whole career. At least that’s how his game has been since he was at Davidson in college. I’ll never forget I was in Madison Wisconsin visiting my sister and as we were leaving a diner I saw Curry’s photo on the local newspaper being heralded as the star of the tournament. I remember thinking to myself he’d never turn out to be anything special..boy was I wrong.

You are lucky to had a chance to probably see him in person, for us who are living outside US, our best chance to see him is on live television only. Of course Curry is special, he change basketball and he is dominating it now, though some are not convinced yet that he is the greatest active NBA player now, but his achievement will prove that as continue proving.

I unfortunately have never had the opportunity to see him play in person. I’ve done a really bad job of going and seeing todays best players. I was infect lucky enough to see Michael Jordan play several times. My dads work tickets were always just a few rows from the court, so getting to see him and the 90s bulls of close and personal was something I’ll cherish forever.
2362  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: August 03, 2022, 03:11:18 PM
If the world reached an unemployment level or at least 50%, I think that we are all in a massive level of hurt. There would have to have been some sort of catastrophic event that took place in order for that to even be possible, which likely means unemployment is the least of our problems.
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why is bitcoin price important? on: August 03, 2022, 03:09:50 PM
Price to me is mainly important as it’s an indicator of the health of the coin overall. Not just health but it’s an indicator of adoption.  The more people that adopt bitcoin, the more it’s price will rise with it.  So they go hand in hand. Otherwise to me bitcoin is far less of an investment as it is a financial breakthrough tool/instrument.
2364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 03, 2022, 03:06:50 PM
If bitcoin ever reached $1000 dollars a coin again, I’m of the belief that it has failed and or more likely that there will be another coin that has over taken it as the most popular go to Cryptocurrency coin going forward, for whatever which reasons. I just don’t see it happening personally.

2366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: August 03, 2022, 12:25:50 AM
We haven't talked about the forum league in weeks. I thought it is a good time now with the Hall of Fame game next week and pre-season there will be only 4-5 weeks left. We should probably figure out the draft order first, i'd really want to know my draft position, i've been drafting against the cpu on fantasypros for the last week and a half.

...then let's create the actual league with all of the rules/settings as discussed, pay the entry fees, and agree on a draft date/hour. It's a lot of work, and it may take some time to get everything in order, so why not start early? Smiley

Agreed. Just need a commissioner to get it all going.

So what do you guys think about the Miami Dolphins news today? Dolphins owner being suspended for several weeks, losing a first and a third round pick, as well as being fined 2 million (pocket change) is nothing surprising to me. But the news of Brady having been chatting with them while still playing with the Patriots was kinda crazy to hear. I guess it’s not completely shocking, but not sure how I feel about it when he still had a season to finish with another team.  I guess I’m surprised the news seems to not be focusing on Brady’s part of it ad much as Bry are the dolphins owner.

Who the heck knows really. If I had to guess, I think they are likely lurking around on this forum from time to time and are likely working on another new project. Perhaps something having to do with smart contracts (something Satoshi refers to in his escrow thread). Either way, thank you Satoshi regardless of whatever you’re doing !
2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Early Adopters rich? on: August 02, 2022, 08:48:55 PM
I would say that the most likelihood is that most early adopters are not rich. One thing to keep in mind is that when you buy bitcoin at such low levels, and then it goes up even just a little in dollar amounts, that could be 100s to 1000s of % gains, and it’s hard to not take profits off the table. People have bills to pay and often needed that money to pay them. So everyone’s situation is different.
2369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The characteristics of people who are addicted to online gambling on: August 02, 2022, 12:38:31 AM
Yes, that's right, with what I do to make things better, this can be a strong control and basis for experience. Of course now gambling doesn't make it the main thing for me every day, only betting on football and sports betting that relies on a favorite team competing which makes it still possible to gamble, even though the determination of the prize results must wait a long time for the winnings to be distributed.
Some people have an evil mind and they can do so much harm to the other people for their benefit.
In our culture we pray that Lord keep us away from bad people and bad time. These kind of people are found everywhere. So better safe than sorry!

lol says the person who’s advertising for a known scam. What does your lord say about working for a company that benefits and profits from stealing from its customers, are they okay with that? Lol what a hypothetical scumbag.

What does this reply of yours even have to do with this persons post? Their speaking of gambling on football games of their favorite team, though it’s unfortunate that it seems to take a long time to pay out winnings. SMH
2370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2022, 12:33:26 AM
90's basketball is very physical, now it has evolved because a team who have great 3-point shooters will likely win the championship. Look at Stephen Curry, if he is not good at 3-point shooting, he will not become a great player, and also now, big men are already shooting 3's, we have good 3-point shooters like Jokic which is a good example.
Yes, and I believe this is the trend! It's normal for players' styles to change over time, just look at what basketball was like 40, 50 or 60 years ago.
Nowadays, an important attribute is the 3-point shot, most players can shoot the 3-point shot (of course, some have a greater difficulty and others not so much).

There are also unicorn players, who are basically big players (maybe over 6"-11' (211cm) or 7" (213cm), they are fast, versatile, have good ball handling, can shot short range, medium and long shots. distance, and who currently play as SF, PF or rarely as SG.
Some of these examples are Durant, Antetokounmpo (even Kristaps Porzingis and Jokic I imagine could fit in that category)

One player who has just been drafted to the NBA (OKC) and who I see has great promise and is also a unicorn is Chet Holmgren! I even imagine he could be an improved version of Durant, let's see how he will performs in the NBA.

Durant is arguably one of the best players in the league when he is healthy.  Chet hasn't stepped one foot in the NBA for a regular game.  An improved version of possibly the best player in the game is a reach.  I'd like to see how chet deals with big bodies in a thin frame, not many can pull it off.

Lol yeah calling anyone who’s entering in the league to be an improved version of Kevin Durant is praise that would likely put that person as the best thing to come in to the NBA since Lebron James. There is no question that Durant is still one of the very best players on the planet. When healthy I would put him in that top three right now.
2371  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we hodling BTC or we are hodling Fiat?? on: August 02, 2022, 12:19:35 AM
“Been that Bitcoin is not backed by any centralized authority, community or asset, it is therefore wise first as a currency and not as a store of value; especially for salary earners in developing countries, low income earners and those who live on wages.
Because to be profitable in BTC investment, one must be a high salary earner who invests with money that has no future need, with reasons that volatility will always be a key player as long as BTC exists”.

I agree with your first part here that bitcoin should be viewed as a currency, and that’s something I’ve felt firmly about for some time, but your second part here I don’t agree with. You don’t have to be a high earner to buy bitcoin, even if it’s a little part of one’s net worth, if bitcoin goes up in value, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got a million dollars worth or 100 dollars, either way the % gain will be the same.
2372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best Crypto friendly country? on: August 02, 2022, 12:14:49 AM
I think Malta is considered to the the most bitcoin / cryptocurrency friendly country there is. Some examples..

“ Malta’s strategy to become a global enclave for digital assets appears to be working, though lax regulatory oversight has raised concerns over money laundering and other financial crime.

Roughly $71 billion, or 60 billion euros, worth of cryptocurrencies has passed through Malta since the tiny Mediterranean state first adopted its “blockchain island” strategy in 2017, the Times of Malta reported Sunday. Although Malta has upgraded its crypto-focused regulations in recent years, financial watchdogs say the nation's anti-money laundering regime may have lacked proper protocols”. - https://cointelegraph.com/news/71b-in-crypto-has-reportedly-passed-through-blockchain-island-malta-since-2017
2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Borrow fiat with your Bitcoin and never sell on: August 02, 2022, 12:11:23 AM
There is always a level of risk involved in things like this, and if you’re borrowing fiat monies while putting up bitcoin as collateral, then you’re going to have to pay interest on those dollars borrowed. Are you aware of that being the case? I’m not sure this makes sense, would need a little more background info on everything.

Yall following training camp news?

I started reading some articles after reading your post and I am very shocked to learn that Russell Wilson is now the quarterback of the Denver Broncos. Has anyone posted about this trade in this thread? I might have not paid attention. Who will be the Seahawks quarterback? Geno Smith? This will not be good for their season.

It also appears that Jimmy Garoppolo might have another chance to be first quarterback for a team that might be satisfactory for him.

Wilson is a huge upgrade for Denver but don't go for <Redacted> he is being over hyped again.

I don't want redacted to go to Seattle either, that's too close.  I can just imagine Carrol building a line that makes redacted look like Brady and haunt us for the next ten years.  Roll Eyes

The thing is he's not that bad when he can stay healthy, and with a coach like Carrol he might actually be able to win a super bowl.

As of right now Drew Lock is the Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback and that’s sure as shit not going to be doing that team any favors so I think “redacted “ (I’m still not really sure why we are all calling him that right now lol) would be the best bet for the Seahawks. They essentially have to sign him unless they are trying to tank for a future QB in the draft.  I think Carroll has lost his edge, and don’t see him turning Jimmy G in to much more than the game manager he is. But of course I could see them having some decent success, after all they still have a potent offense outside of QB.
2375  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake Hardware Wallet on eBay (gnuzone) -KeepKey plagiarized on: July 31, 2022, 07:55:34 PM
Holy shit man. Looks like this dude could be planting malware on hundreds of peoples stuff... Selling a Rufus usb stick, i mean wtf right? Any idiot can figure out how to do that with a simple google search. Download rufus, insert USB, select ISO file, and hit Write lol.. ... Roll Eyes

I almost want to order one of his cheaper items and runt it through some tools on Kali linux just to see what the fuck is up there...

Normally expensive software on the cheap like that is always a red flag as well lol.

Yeah I mean I have no idea if there’s actually any malware built in to these, but dude is straight up lying about its features and functions and just plagiarized KeepKeys exact wallet description, which proves it’s all fake nonsense. I reported the listings, but considering messaging them.

Would be interested if you do buy one and test it out. I would if I knew how to do any of that stuff, as of course you know I don’t know how to do lol.

2377  Economy / Scam Accusations / Fake Hardware Wallet on eBay (gnuzone) -KeepKey plagiarized on: July 30, 2022, 09:43:39 PM
Came across two (edit- they have quite a few in their eBay store) eBay listings claiming they have a  “100% safe” bitcoin hard wallet for sale.

The first one looks to simply be a USB stick that works in conjunction with Electrum. The seller simply plagiarized the same exact wallet description that can be found on KeepKey’s website wallet description (as seen in the photos below).

Ebay listing  (notice how they even left the name “KeepKey” in the description. Also how they state the wallet has a display, which it does not )

KeepKey website description ( https://shapeshift.com/keepkey )

Though noted on the photo as “box for illustration only”, they designed a fake box to give the illusion of a legitimate hardware wallet package.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265792575291?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aGSPCmA-RLm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6B7-avqJQ5K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Here is the second listing. This I don’t understand. They label it with much of the same information as the other listing, and as a hardware wallet, yet there is no physical wallet, just a DVD labeled “GNU ZONE” (their User Name). I’m assuming it’s just a copy of Electrum on DVD?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265792577362?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aGSPCmA-RLm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=6B7-avqJQ5K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Needless to say this is not a legitimate hardware wallet, and could easily be set up to scam someone. I obviously don’t know for sure if that’s the case, but being a phony listing that plagiarized KeepKey, this seller obviously can’t be trusted. Seller has quite a few of these fake wallets for sale in their store -   https://www.ebay.com/str/gnuzone?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aGSPCmA-RLm&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=6B7-avqJQ5K&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
2378  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTS - Loaded 2020 Lealana Full KIZEKRA Set on: July 30, 2022, 05:44:54 PM
Hey that's correct, loaded with 84,7436 XMR  Smiley

This set is truly quite amazing, especially since it's the rainbow-housing and you have the steel certs which are also beautiful in themselves, as well as the amazing packaging(s)...

I have a few of these bars, and I can honestly say that taking good pictures of them is very difficult, in fact a video is best it seems Tongue

I have no idea how Smoothie ever got this picture so nice, it really captures them awesomely, but I would still give a kidney for this set.

Hang in there @JL95... Someone with deep pockets will eventually bite, I am quite sure... Patience will pay off eventually. Wink

I’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of my standing offer of one kidney for a Lealana King K set.

Does anyone know if these bars are still for sale by smoothie any longer or not?

2380  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Stacks Bowers Again - Summer auction on: July 30, 2022, 08:22:39 AM
I think it's so awesome that they are using Bitpay to facilitate the transactions!

Bitpay does a great job of introducing bitcoin payments to businesses, and has been for years.

Pretty cool stuff.  This is the first time they’ve auctioned so many and with these lower denominated coins.

I wonder how much armored shipping costs for a non registered business sale, or if it’s even available to just anyone. $500 doesn’t seem too bad. Though I’m curious how much sales and international shipping fees are.

“*Loaded cryptocurrency coins will be reserved at their intrinsic cryptocurrency value on the day of the sale. Lots realizing $25,000 or more will be delivered via armored carrier ONLY. An additional shipping charge of five hundred dollars [$500] will be applied to domestic armored carrier deliveries, with additional fees for remote and international deliveries. Winning bidders may also pay their invoice via BitPay for a 1% fee after authorization by Stack’s Bowers Galleries prior to the sale. Additional terms and conditions apply.”

Good pub. for the forum
