Of course, big bang has never been proven.

Not only has it not been proven to be the source of the universe, but it has not even been proven to be something that is possible. We are so far from proving big bang, that even if it were proven to be possible, it still would have to be proven to be the way things came about.

Theories are changing. There are 3 major big bang theories. There are 4 major black hole theories. None of the black holes produced from the black hole theories could fit into any of the big bang universes produced from any of the big bang theories. The theories just don't match up mathematically.

Science has a long way to go to even suggest that the pile of BB math that they have is anywhere near close to reality.

Yep!

You gotta have a bunch of websites "under construction" in the wings. Then when you are hacked, you need to throw all the info up on the next one, and email all your clients regarding the change.

It's real work.

23703  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Well Dammit, He Fired Comey on: May 12, 2017, 03:24:41 PM
Trump fired Commey in a manner so bizarre that one may think He was still on the Apprentice Show. In my regards Commey should have been fired when Trump took office and his position given to someone else.

But we didn't hear him say 'You're fired!' Wink

The best part is, Comey was giving a seminar to new FBI recruits when he got the news. One of them saw it on TV and commented on it, he looked up, thought it was a joke, until he called to confirm his term had gotten 'abbreviated', so to speak.

He should have sat him down at the table, with the chair, and played the Apprentice theme. Or, he could have gotten Schwarzenegger to fire him, it would have made more sense and had better optics than this. And then I wake up to this tweet?

“James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!”

So given that was the most obvious threat in the history of presidential tweets, we can assume 45 may have said/did something compromising in front of Comey, like even discussing an active investigation with the director of the department that is running it? I'm sure that's all on the up and up, nothing odd here.

Trump, you know we can like, see this shit, right? Goddamned Deuterte is slicker than this. Not only do we have intrigue in the White House, but apparently it's as dumb as a brick shithouse.

I'm Filipino and I'd agree, Trump definitely bags the award for making a media circus out of everything. When Duterte decided to kick his vice-president out of his cabinet (he only grudgingly appointed her because of the backlash of not giving her any official position) he at least had someone text her "please stop going to cabinet meetings". Still definitely nowhere close to this Trump circus where it seems Comey was the last to know of his dismissal.

And not only that, but he didn't believe it when his people told him.

23704  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Atheist, Muslims etc that doesn't believe in the Bible be beheaded? on: May 12, 2017, 03:22:42 PM
I thought that Christianity is well past the days of inquisition and beheading. Nowadays this sort of behavior is more typical of the Muslims. Islamic militants have executed people just because they couldn't recite the verses from the Koran.

If it was legal where they live, Christians would be executing people the same way ISIS is doing.

Ideologically there is no difference between the Quran and the Bible.

I guess "moderate" Christians ignore/justify Leviticus the same way the "moderate" Muslims ignore/justify the violent passages in the Quran.

You have not the faintest idea how some people here think. You probably heard of boxer and part-time senator Manny Pacquiao, right? This self-appointed Christian preacher is in favor of death penalty, even mentioning in an interview that there's nothing wrong with capital punishment because it was prescribed in the Bible. He even went so far as state that it's "just as easy as kicking a chair". (I remember he did apologize for that remark because of the outrage. Can't remember clearly cause I switch channels when I see his face.)

Thank goodness his views do not represent the view of most people here (well, can't say about Muslims, we don't know their opinion on this but it'll probably be similar to the Pakistani gov't). Many people here are in favor of returning capital punishment but almost never spoken about using it against blasphemers. Their concern is mostly crime and hope that reviving death penalty would act as deterrent.

But of course, once you unleash the genie... It'll take just a single nut to sit in the Palace and we could be hanging atheists. It would become more troubling should we become a federation. Not hard to imagine any resulting Muslim state to insist on death for blasphemy.

That's because all af_newbie thinks about is $$$$$. The more he trolls, the more he gets paid.

Here is my fellow mate opinion regarding people who doesn't believe in the Bible and God.
The bible clearly states, with 100% crystal clear clarity, that the earth is flat and only ~6000 years old.
So no, I don't believe people that believe in flat young earth should be beheaded.

And all you have to do to see that the Bible is using figurative language when it talks about the earth being flat is look at the mountains and valleys.

Wink
I WOULD SUGGEST TO USE MARIJUANA AS A RECREATIONAL DRUG IN HOSPITALS AND BY physiatrist. IT REALLY HELPS A PERSON TO UNDERSTAND WHATS RALLY GOING IN THE WORLD AND DEVELOP A STRATEGY TO HANDEL THINGS.

I see you have been practicing what you preach. And you preach quite loudly Wink

But seriously if you've tried marijuana as an adult in a non hostile setting, I have concerns about a person's disposition and psychological state, if you didn't at like it at all. I get the experience being a bit much the first few times, but with the proper scene, that's half the fun.

Medical marijuana will be largely legal in the next five years or so. It will take another decade, however, to see recreational legal across the board.

We would need to do more to keep it from the kids, though. It's pretty strong now (I say this as a person very, very knowledgeable of the current state of marijuana genetics). It's a serious demotivator in youth/young adults,/they should regulate it just like alcohol. The new vape technology isn't helping; it's getting easier and stealthier to light up. If we can keep the kids away, then full steam ahead with legalization.

I take this back. Sessions just nixxed Holden's previous guidance on enforcement and sentencing. We are officially 'tough on crime' again, people.

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/sessions-directs-federal-prosecutors-to-seek-max-punishment-for-crimes/article/2622895

Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a memo late Thursday directing federal prosectors to more harshly punish crimes.

In the memo sent to all 94 United States attorneys' offices, Sessions directed federal prosecutors to bring the most "serious, readily approvable offense" charge in all cases moving forward — a major move by the nation's top law enforcement officer signaling that the Department of Justice is serious about being tough on crime.

The "Sessions memo" rolled back a memo issued by then-Attorney General Eric Holder in 2013 that encouraged prosecutors to use their discretion when filing criminal charges — especially in low-level drug offenses and other cases that elicited mandatory minimum sentences.

So curious to see how this will play out. The opium crisis is in the breadbasket primarily, but will we see greater enforcement in minority communities? How will this affect the opiod epidemic, on top of the fact the Dept that was oversight for said, has actually been proposed to be eliminated (94% cut, I shit you not). So we kill the drug prevention Dept, and double down on sentencing and arrests. Sounds like they want to put more people in jail, for longer. And that means CCA and private prisons will flourish.

Becuase tough on crime worked so well the first time.

If you can't see this agenda, your eyes are closed.

But what if you never smoked pot, and your cubicle in an office of dozens of cubicles was the only one where pot was never smoked? And the climate control machinery was broken down most of the time.

How do you get welfare benefits, or any social welfare, without a valid and unique SSN?

Oh.. common... we are talking about a country where there is no ID proof requirement for voting. Once an illegal manages to enroll in the voters list, he can cast his ballot in any election.
I'll concede that, in one of the States that doesn't ID. But being on a voter roll doesn't make you a citizen, it doesn't confer a valid ID, and it doesn't make you eligible for SNAP benefits. Even if they did manage to vote. SNAP is a federal thing provisioned by the state. The requirements are the same in all states.

BTW, don't you think it's odd that for all the millions of illegal votes, none had abnormal vote counts? How do you add extra people to a system, that only counts votes attached to a social?

https://www.quora.com/How-easy-is-it-for-an-illegal-immigrant-to-vote-in-California

The main point is that illegal immigrants generally avoid any interaction with local, state, or the Federal government if at all possible....

No they don't. At least where the majority in the local culture talks Spanish, and where the immigrant is Mexican.

And pray tell where would that be? A place in America where the majority speaks Spanish, including law enforcement?

Huh?

Man it seems there's a lot of places you have not seen.

Or rather, this magical  majority Spanish speaking place in the USA, doesn't exist. And yeah, I'm a homebody. Haven't travelled since I was a kid, in earnest at least.

Get out, go where the tacos and cold beer is, and have fun. Look for streets with lots of tire and hubcap shops. You can point at menu items and be understood. The key words are Cerveza and Tacos. Those will get you by.

Don't worry you will be accepted and sort of respected as one of the old white honkies. Just don't start prattling off that liberal horseshit or someone might decide you needed a lesson. They might be right, come to think of it.

I'm colored folk, for some reason I think me and the 'hombres' would be fine, I love vibrant culture, good food, and good people that can show me something different. And tacos are fucking delicious. The carnitas ones (slow cooker pork) are the best.

Although I'm a spirits guy, beer takes too long for me. Some tequila, racist bartender!

But seriously, you are describing SpanishTown USA. These are small communities in which the majority of residents are indeed Spanish speaking, but this doesn't include the law enforcement. Given that the majority of citizens in the US are white, the majority of police are as well, proportional. Ergo, no matter if the whole city speaks Spanish; the authorities that would interact with these 'bad hombres' and 'welfare queens' would not be the same ethnicity, and therefore have no tribal affiliation.

This is similar to ChinaTown USA, pretty much x town USA where x = an immigrant group that lives over here in a community. Shit, even whites and blacks do this, people always tend to cluster around others that share their culture. Not to their exclusion, but certainly for familiarity.

We have taken a diversion, but let's return to the priori dispute. I cited something that said that illegal immigrants avoid interaction with Leo's in order to avoid arrest, you disputed this with the assertion that this occurs in majority Spanish speaking communities. I concede that there are large concentrations of immigrants in these areas, but I advance that this still does not enable them the ability to vote, because of the nature of the process, and the language preferences of the community would not influence policing outcomes, as the police are typically of a different race than tthehe suspect, ESP in this situation.
I simply cannot envision a scenario where people would risk arrest to cast a vote, that barely even matters given the nature of the electoral college.

That's what elections are all about... in small towns especially. Get your people together and elect a mayor and town council who are going to do it your way if you don't like white cops. After all, some very big cities have many black and hispanic cops... even chiefs of police.

@popcorn - explain where did those natural elements came from.

@newbie - thats the reason why i believe that there is a creator because no matter how hard we find reasons for everything we would always end up to a thing that we humans cant explain

Completely false.
We might end discovering a cycle of things. Then we'll explain everything as the phenomenons are cyclic.

Moreover thsi is a dumb argument that I can use myself. If there is a creator, who created him?
If there is a God, where does he come from? How does he live? Does he have only one universe? What happens when he dies? If he doesn't die then what will happen when the world end? Will he create another universe? From what and how?

Dumb argument is dumb ^^

Agree you also look dumb on your argument. Can science answer the question of where all of this came from? Of course not, even the great philosophers cant explain it and end up into the fact that their is someone who designed all the things.

Edit: how pathetic that a person is too afraid to die sp they wont believe in god because of their is god then they should not die

Thanks so we agree! Those questions are impossible to answer so no need to say shit like "it means there is a god".
No
It means we don't know. End of the story. It can be god, it can be anything else. We don't know.

You are finally coming to understand the vastness of God a little.

Hey man.
Just to adress your big question of "religious being the big winner of Darwin evolution" as you say.

Simple question: do you think religion is a genetic characteristic?

It is!

But even our free will is a cause and effect thing in close to 100% of it. The tiny sliver of a percent that has free will in it, is the thing that God uses to judge how He will dictate the rest of our life through cause and effect.

In Lies We Believe About God, we see Paul Young apart from the subjectivity of narrative. And as he proclaims what he denies and affirms, he outs himself as beyond the bounds of Christian orthodoxy. This book is a credo for false teaching, for full-out heresy. I do not say this lightly, I do not say it gleefully, but I do say it confidently. Christian booksellers should be utterly ashamed to sell this book or any other by its author. Christians should not subject themselves to his teaching or promote his works, for he despises sound doctrine that leads to salvation and advocates false doctrine that will only ever lead away from God.

Now that I have read Lies We Believe About God from cover-to-cover, one of its small statements seems to take on outsized significance. “To understand who God really is, you can begin by looking at yourself, since you are made in God’s image.” The man who wrote these words has exposed his own approach, for his God is obviously and unashamedly fabricated in the image of Paul Young.

We might be made in God's image, but we are not in the image that He originally made mankind.

The only reason we are still in the image of God after we fell into sin is, Jesus God came in the form of man, took the punishment (including death) for imperfection that was due us, and carries the whole human race.

In the coming Judgment, He (Jesus) will separate the people who are in favor of God from those who are against God. Those who are in favor of God will go on to everlasting life, while those who are against God will go on to damnation.

Because our religion can know the rules of life and know how to be ethical.

You must be a wild animal if you need a Bronze Age book to tell you what is moral or ethical.

Most stuff in the Bible is either ridiculous or flat out illegal.
Funny I agree, and what is illegal you found in the Bible? It seems to me that the Bible is just a historical fiction story about how evolved human relationships. I don't understand why she give such a value?

Oh, I don't know, killing, stoning, cutting off hands, plucking out eyes, slavery, genocide.  All of it is illegal today.

You want more examples? Here are some:

That doesn't stop cops, the Government, and the military from doing things like this. But the Bible speaks against doing them.
