Cool story bro. Your point?

I guess the point was that all thing should be made in America, I mean we're doing such a good job at producing things valuable.... or will Bitcoin be the first?

What are you, a bunch of nerds or something?  Quit using it.  It makes otherwise intelligent people look like little children name-calling.  Find something more clever or just keep quiet.  I would love to see the dudes discussing the NYSE on CNBC being like "TROLL!   TROLL!   TROLOLOLOL!"  Seriously.  This is the reason none of you scored any pussy in high school.
Hey! You just worry about that 10hours of prayer..... (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27500.msg374431#msg374431)
There should at least be 244hours of that by my count

I recall seeing a Bitcoin meme thread before, but I can't find it anymore, so let's start a new one! Cheesy

I'll start out with this one I saw in another thread:

Who is that guy and why is he related to gox? i see his "normal" photo everywhere

See...  I can see where he's coming from.

He doesn't want to open his system up to the public yet because he's concerned about being hacked and people breaking his shit, so he's having a limited invite.

If you want to make your site hack proof, open a demo site to the public then declare in a loud voice, "My Site is Un-Hackable!"

Then just wait for the 'loz' and the 'ur code sux cuz I haxored u' to roll in.

Once the drama is over and you fixed all your code, and you pay your bounty to those who helped...do it again...

Honestly.... I'm not opening my site up for business till every hack in these forums has had a go at it.

edit: Didn't see the updates to the OP before writing this...soz.

edit: edit: Just another quote to keep in mind:, "Good software does what it's supposed to do.  Secure software does what it's supposed to do and nothing else"

Thats an awsome quote, and its soo true too!

Xen, I just have to say:  This is the freakin' way to get a reputable site going in this community.  Produce a beta and say "hack this sh*t!".  Once you have done enough testing it's ready for release, provided you don't plan on adding new features without additional testing.

I have a feeling your next project is going to make waves.  Push forward brotha'!

Thanks mate!

Yeah exactly I want everyone trust that their Bitcoins are in safe keeping with all these "hack" going around and loss of Bitcoins at random.
My business plan is to purchase 3 USB drives all of which have the same identical single wallet address. all the Bitcoins get sent to this address and when I'm ready to ship products I pull one out of the lock box(Looking into magnetically shielded lock-boxes, any ideas where to find them?) and convert Bitcoins into fiat and purchase another shipment.

2390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Computers, Phones & Devices CANNOT be used to Keep Wallets - Safety for Dummies on: August 05, 2011, 11:51:34 AM
Not trolling but this thread sparked this idea up. Soon people will have there Bitcoin addresses printed on their body as tattos so they can scan their money when they go to the market. This is the part where the Christians say "OMG THE APOCOLYPTIC CURRENCY HAS AWOKEN!!!". But in reality I'm highly religious so not trying to offend anybody here.

That would have to be a centralized currency, not a decentralized one, like bitcoin, and it's completely off topic to boot.  Wink
Not entirely off-topic, I was trying to give suggestions as what mediums we could safely store addresses(obviously not private keys) but also adding a religious pun to it.

Safety of address isn't realy an issues?

Every used key is know anyway... Also, you need private key to make a payment...

About the safety of addres isn't issues...question. If someone has your private keys someone the jig is up if someone takes it and then asks for you address.
Thats what I was intending to mean about safety anyways.

Hmm, I'm not in to math, but can't you connect public and private key to each other, if you know the limited pool of public-keys(the chain)?

Yeah your correct. My imagined scenario is this. If they have access to your private keys they 100.99(Repeating of course) have your public key regardless....

When are you ready to start this?

I want to join in, but I'm not always available.

btw.: Starting a Hack-A-Thon is a great idea!

I'm hoping my website will be released at the beginning of the next month if everything goes according to plan. So the hack-a-thon should be some time after the 26th of aug if I finish the site by then and I plan for the even to be an on-going week event, where i just sit back and watch my programming crash & burn(sort of speak).

2396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [RESOLVED]SSL installation help with CA running Apache2/OpenSSL please? on: August 05, 2011, 07:11:14 AM
So I don't know what happened but I made a self-signed certificate and I got it to run successfully by typing in https://mydomain.com here. The problem is that when I try to use a Certificate Authority supplied certificate by comodo. It dosn't want to work. Apache2 restart [fail]'s but no errors really.

I have repeated the step in this tutorial:
https://support.comodo.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=881&nav=0,1,84

as well as this one on a different occasion
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/ssl/ssl_faq.html#keyscerts

I think the part I have most trouble is why there are so many files, and why do they need some many places to put them.
I've been able to take my csr(i think thats which file type im talking about) output and copy/paste that into the comodo interface so they supply me a certificate or .crt file.
Then i take the certs and just stick them in a root only access folder in this case /root but I've also tried /etc/apache2/ssl same results. I also might think it could be im not doing virtual hosts config correct somehow with the SSL file linking. (This server hosts another website that wont require SSL so i'm pretty sure virtual hosts is a must)
Beyond that I have no clue what to do. i just get the normal messages from apache2 and then it just displays [fail]
2397  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many violent type weapons have you purchased latley? on: August 05, 2011, 06:36:12 AM
Okay bitcoin community... How many slice-n-dice, not for kitchen use, ninja, dagger type items have you purchased in the past year? and if so please let me know what kind and any links if possible. Thanks for participating in my survey. Smiley

First, how's about you actually make it into a survey.

Second, WTH are you actually talking about ? Who buys "daggers"
these days, and to do what exactly ? Defend yourself ? How laughable.
I'd pick a tazer, mace or a gun over a "dagger" any day.

I see what your saying but there are things beyond what is first seen, Some people like to collect things such as that. I have a few suppliers in store for my up and coming business and I'd like to invest in profitable products as well as attend to various items such as collectibles.
2398  Other / Meta / Re: Forum software on: August 05, 2011, 05:43:38 AM
I'm sure SMF could have more features but I say we stick with what is working at the current point in time. If the OP is suggesting some features that is a must such as a reputation system with some encrypted authentication method for signing then maybe its time to upgrade if I knew of such open source software. Besides that I think its hard enough for new commers to get use to bitcoin let alone fancy widgets to get when they need help in the forums.

Mining farm does some of the similar codes located in the blockUpdater.php file in side of the /req/cronjobs/ folder.
2400  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: v5.6.0 ][ Open-Source Pooling Web Software on: August 05, 2011, 01:44:12 AM
I'm with you Xenland.  Adding value to the community is paramount.

Smiley Honestly if we had more then 5 suppliers that only used Bitcoins as payment(including wages, taxes, etc) the Bitcoin worth would skyrocket! I hope to start the trend of secure, fast, friendly eCommerce store and set the bar for online Bitcoin business model. I think since we are technically early adopters still(in the sense that their is still real business's and niches to be made and filled) its our job as a community to shun out the the useless projects and turn our eyes towards the future that we want Bitcoins to improve our life. Not to say fiat won't be helpful, but there will always be same Bitcoin community no matter how diluted it gets with new comers we just need to set the bar and build a base of what we all think the direction of bitcoin should go.
