2382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Asic Resistant mineable altcoin? on: July 24, 2017, 06:54:52 AM
As i read from a site

Some developers have attempted to create mining algorithms which are not only ASIC resistant, but which also do not offer any significant advantage to GPUs.

Does this means coin with ASIC resistant are coin that are only mineable by GPU?

Thanks

2387  Economy / Trading Discussion / Good site to trade Cryptocurrency CFD? on: July 22, 2017, 07:17:17 AM
Hello

As currently i am using whaleclub, that platform seems great

It has a spread of 0.33%

Financing rate of 4% which is around for BTC/USD pair

So 1 BTC CFD for 24hour financing rate will be around 0.05 BTC

Is there any other similar site?

Thanks

2389  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Is 1 Confirmation enough to prevent double spend? on: July 21, 2017, 03:06:08 PM
The blockchain size really has absolutely nothing to do with the difficulty.

Ouh it doesn't? I see, i always thought that blockchain size does affect on the difficulty xd So amount of miners do affect it?

Previously i've seen most casino only credits payment after 2 confirmation

Recently i've deposit into several site like casino, purchasing site. And most of it uses 0-1 Confirmation.

Therefore come to our main question, in the current state, is 1 confirmation enough to protect and prevent double spend?

Quote
This does have something to do with difficulty. As the difficulty increases, it becomes harder to mine a block and will need a lot of hashpower to even get a block. In most of the attacks an user can execute, loads of hashpower is needed and it becomes unfeasible to double spend a transaction.

Most of the casinos allows for 1 confirmation deposit since a long time ago.

Just a small correction: It is impossible to prevent a double spend if the transaction is made after the checkpoint. The risk is insignificant if its for daily purchases with the assumption that the attackers are looking for profit.

For this point : Transaction is made after the checkpoint, is there something called as 0 confirmation? Is checkpoint mark when a coin sending command is execute or it only starts to check once 1 confirmation is done?

Thanks

As the blockchain growth time by time, which means the difficulty tend to become harder and harder.

2391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Low market cap crypto investment ideas on: July 21, 2017, 09:00:31 AM
Anything over $1million wouldn't consider really low imo

Anything below $500,000 is something low as it will fall within Page 3 and behind on coinmarketcap.com

Btw Darcus is a good investment in my opinion
2392  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your biggest regrets in cryptocurrency? on: July 21, 2017, 08:54:05 AM
Invest 0.1 btc on neutron

Bough at 300 satoshi

Sold at 1200 Satoshi

After sold, the following next 2 days it peaked at 15,000 each Neutron

0.1 > 0.4 BTC

Potential Lost : 0.1 x 50 = 5.0 - 0.4(What i sold) = 4.6 BTC
2393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a term when you long/short the coins? on: July 21, 2017, 08:50:02 AM
When you trade coins to coins, we called it trading
When you long/short currency, we called it forex

When you long/short crypto>crypto OR crypto>currency, whats the terms of it?

When you trade one currency for another, that's a spot trade.

When you go long/short that's called a CFD, Contract For Difference.

Thanks for the explanation! cause i was finding a term which i can refer to when i explain to my friend xd

2398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the fear gone right now with the BIP91 activated? on: July 21, 2017, 05:08:54 AM
Bitcoin now rally to 10,000 USD  Cool
This is optimism.
This won't be happening as soon as we want. It still needs to take some time. Maybe, after the official announcements, if BIP91 will now be adopted, we are a step closer to 10,000 USD in this mile-long journey.

IT is possible, but wouldn't be that fast as what he said. Since BIP91 is adopted, after 2 weeks when segwit is activated, we can expect it break the $3,000 resistance

2400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is the fear gone right now with the BIP91 activated? on: July 21, 2017, 12:41:22 AM
Will the market get into mess again?

Since BIP91 is activated, is BIP148 still activating?

I mean we already got our segwit activated, this means UASF of BIP148 is no longer needed?

Or that will be BIP148 regardless if BIP91 pass and soon we will have price resistance due to BIP148 again?

Thanks
