Hi lodcrappo,

Did you compile cgminer support for BFL singles into the BAMT version of cgminer?

Thanks,
James

Edited for clarification above.

0.4 no
0.5 yes

completely untested of course, but cgminer built and did not report errors.

PERFECT!

I didn't get a chance to try out 0.5 yesterday so i'll be going to the DC later today hopefully. Video to come!

gigavps, I had in mind that screenshots worth nothing because they can't prove anything.

lzsaver, if you read the entire OP, you will see that I provide video and photos, one of which is an screen cap of cgminer. This was required to collect the bounty.

If this is not evidence enough for you, please ignore this thread and certainly don't purchase a single.

More for me i guess!  Grin

I haven't seen any hashes come through my purchase.

NothinG: I would recommend you run your purchase on a pool that has the potential to make you back your money. btcguild is NOT one of those pools.

I've made a short list for you....

deepbit
ozco.in
slush
emc

Good luck.

i'm also happy for imsaguy to mediate... thank you.

can use 1Amw6UEAx8TovmRHg2vDeTW516cmXDCAgh for me.

+ 1 for imsaguy.

You would not believe how much work it takes to get 30Gh up and running, let along running 24/7 without issues.

I have a HUGE amount of respect for anyone who takes on this challenge and succeeds.
Sorry for my ignorance, but my PC hashes everyday without issue. What can be so hard about running a mining farm?

Well, when you have 16.5Kw per hour running through 18 computers, I guess you'll find out.
2387  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 1200 btc loan for mining hardware (w/ collateral) on: February 25, 2012, 12:58:16 AM
Wondering why someone would lend you the funds as opposed to use them to start mining themselves. This would remove the risk of getting scammed while keeping the upside.

Also, why just get a loan? Why not sell shares on glbse.com like all the other mining companies there. From a quick look, something like 10% of all bitcoins hashing power is a result of GLBSE mining companies.

Cost of labor/time investment for #1.  Investing in his mining operation is a click away.  Making your own mining farm takes a long time.

I had no idea how much BTC is owed through all of these mining contracts.

This is my fault, I did not do my due diligence before lending Andrew this BTC.

Please put me at the back of the line as it seems Andrew has much bigger debts to be repaid.

If the auto thing was undocumented but works, zefir will get the bounty. He seems to have pointed me to the magic (undocumented) pill.

I will not be able to find out until this weekend when I can get the latest version of BAMT working on a rig.

Here is a screenshot ~36 hours in. Around 25.5k shares accepted!  Cheesy

2391  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Compiled Undervolting Results on: February 24, 2012, 04:38:09 AM
Hello fellow bitcoiners,

I would like to compile a complete list of undervolting results the community has been able to figure out. I am particularly interested in 5970s, 5870s, 5850s, 5830s and 6950s. It would be great if they were posted in the format below. I'll go first with the results of my 5970 undervolting.

Miner: cgminer
OC software: cgminer
Card: 5970
Core: 680
Memory: 166
Voltage: 0.95
Mh/s: 630
Wattage: Huh?

Hopefully we can compile a complete list here so that others can easily find and utilize this information.

Thanks,
gigavps

Out of curiosity, where does Deslok fit into all of this? The Shades Minoco business was supposedly a collaboration between him and shakaru, so why is the thread concentrating on shakaru? Is Deslok not involved anymore?

This is not the case with my loan as far as I am aware. I only dealt with shakaru to fund the loan.
2393  Economy / Services / Re: Shades Minoco / Shakaru / Collections / Debt on: February 24, 2012, 03:52:39 AM
Andrew still owes 67.41 BTC from a 100 btc loan I made to him after the astana ordeal.

I am willing to forgive the interest (15 btc) to help him out but he must repay the remaining balance on the original loan which totals 52.41 btc.

Best,
gigavps

Now someone like giga running a massive farm if he does purchase 100 boards as he indicated he intends to (not sure if he is joking) will be able to benefit from lower host overhead.

Still most people aren't going to drop $10,000+ on FPGA to get the benefit you are talking about.

More profits baby!   Grin
2395  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Single in the wild (BOUNTY RECEIVED!!!) on: February 23, 2012, 09:26:01 PM
Wow those look really tempting now.  Pretty close to a 5970 / 6990 but without the power, heat, or noise.  But as was said, they're only *just* slightly more efficient for MH/$.

I'm not sure slightly is the right word here......

BFL Single 813Mh/80w = 10Mh/1w

At BEST, a 5970 can MAYBE to 5Mh/1w when it is underclocked / undervolted.

So if you consider DOUBLE the Mh/w to be slightly, then maybe I'm dumber than I have been thinking.

Ultimately what this means is, a BFL single will be profitable a lot longer when the next significant downward event happens in price or subsidy.
2396  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Single in the wild (BOUNTY RECEIVED!!!) on: February 23, 2012, 08:42:22 PM
OK. Now that the product seems to be genuine I have some questions for you all :

-what do you think will happen with the rest of the network ? Will all GPU miners cease to be profitable like the CPU miners ? What about free elec people ?

-has all the FPGA competition been wiped out with this weapon ?

-what will an ASIC do to the bitcoin network ?

-could this still be a long con and how can we see the warning signs in that case ?

Discuss !

Please take your FUD discussion elsewhere....

This topic was to validate that the BFL single is not a unicorn and to collect the bounty.

Did you play around with flags, oc?

This is what i have in my .bat file to start cgminer...

Code:
cgminer -o http://pool.com:8332 -u name -p pw -o http://pool2.com:8332 -u name -p pw -o http://pool3.com:8332 -u uname -p pw --failover-only -S COM5 --disable-gpu

gpumax is the shit!!!!!

btw: gigavps whats up bro? hows that BFL single? (im thinking about ordering 6 of them in march)

you going to enter a FPGA farm in next years mining rig contest? (for those who dont know gigavps is last years winner)

The single is doing great so far. 813Mh/s and rock solid performance so far (and pointed at gpumax!). 10 more are on their way so it'll be a nice little fpga setup once everything arrives.

I think the title "World's best rig builder" will suffice for one year. I don't want the contest to be over before it begins.  Wink

I don't know what has changed over the last 2 days (nothing on my end) but my speeds are awesome as is connectivity and no 'sick' miners in CGMiner.

Woke up this morning and everything is running 100% at top speeds without a hitch.

Thanks Pirate.

here, here. I vote moar hashes.

Anyways...11 posts and two days of trying hard to be nice in the newbie section... BOOMSTICK!

+100 to no sick miners this morning. gpumax is incredible!

awesome thanks! Btw how much is it pulling from the wall?

+1

No wattage reader around here, I'm too busy hashing away!  Grin

I think Inaba said around 85w....
