wow. 5 btc a pop. what were they worth then? not even pennies huh? Yup, sub pennies. I'm betting most of the people back then cashed out as soon as BTC price hit a buck or so. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

I wanted to see a full movie length documentary after this. Is The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin still relevant and worth watching?
Yes it's worth watching. A few things are a little dated, but overall, this goes in depth much more into the details: https://vimeo.com/115481112Both are good documentaries. Inside Man is like eating a slice of pizza, Rise and Rise is like eating Veal Parmagiana with Broccoli Rabe on the side.

I highly doubt that will happen. I think Bitcoin will become a world Currency but the price wouldn't rage higher to be honest.
The market cap of bitcoin is less than $4 Billion. If it becomes the world's reserve currency that will not be sufficient for a large city, much less the world. 6 years dude, Bitcoin has more VC investment capital and development than the Internet had in the early 90's...

easy to do .. i've been surviving on bitcoin for years. Haven't had a bank account since 2010!
If that is the case, that is quite impressive! Kudos to you! I can hardly imagine that. From my experience living only with BTC alone is impossible at this point. And of course a huge difference is your whereabouts. Maybe in some higher developed countries it will be possible but I am from EU and I could not do it here for sure. I need to convert BTC to standard currency to be able use it in most cases. It is possible for you in the EU: https://xapo.com/wallet/With a Xapo Debit card you can swipe just like you do your regular credit or bank debit card.

OT: Whenever someone says Mr. Antonopoulos I think of Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.
Personally, whenever someone mentions Andreas, I immediately visualize an older Eddie Munster for some reason... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fvignette1.wikia.nocookie.net%2Fmunster%2Fimages%2Ff%2Ff6%2FEddie_Munster.jpg%2Frevision%2Flatest%3Fcb%3D20120420120118&t=664&c=B4aHF1cpqPUNKw) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Faantonopoulos.files.wordpress.com%2F2014%2F02%2Fdscf9899-2.jpg&t=664&c=6bG01qViYyM_LQ)

Buffett's been right so many times in the past, been right about stock picks for so long, and where to invest, and what makes a good investment that it really is hard to argue against anything he says. He is the most successful investor of the 20th century and for good reason. That all said, this is the 21st century, and even legends like Warren Buffett, see their time pass. He's what they call "Old Money". He along with others of his ilk like George Soros and Carl Icahn did it their way, with brilliant stock picks and positions, brilliant hedges, dealing with risk, holding onto winners, and cutting losers quick. They all grew up around the Great Depression and know the other side of the coin in dealing with adversity. Now with this new era of Digital and Cryptocurrencies, their era is now coming to a close. They've all accumulated so much fiat during the 20th century, it really doesn't what the dollar does in the next decade or so before they pass. For the 21st century, if all goes as planned, these new innovators and investors will be new Buffetts and Soros and Icahns. It'll be the Vers, the Winkleviis, the Andresens, Voorhees, Drapers, and last but not least Nakamotos that'll be considered the brilliant financial minds of our time. Long story short, yea Buffett's wrong. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

There is ALWAYS a reason to slap someone in the face: Man, Woman, Trisexual, Hermaphrodite, etc... Doesn't mean you SHOULD. Restraint is a virtue in itself. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2F24.media.tumblr.com%2Feda3c99e6ff29890c33d51a9eaf1cbf3%2Ftumblr_mj0kuevY5W1rg8ypco1_250.gif&t=664&c=L3IhC1sZqSh4hA)

I'm actually in my late thirties about to enter forties soon, so when I first heard about Bitcoin I was skeptical as most people are to anything new and different from the norm. I heard a bit more references to it in different media reports, mostly through Silk Road 1 transacting this new form of currency called Bitcoin using a Tor Browser. I thought to myself, man these criminals will do anything to buy drugs and weapons online.... And then year after year, this thing called Bitcoin kept sticking around. Mt. Gox was an actual exchange moving tremendous amount of money around, and people actually could participate in it by "mining" on their personal computers at home using CPU's and GPU's. I thought to myself, maybe there is something to this Bitcoin. Year 6 and I've read the Whitepaper, read and watched all I could to understand Bitcoin, participated as a miner, trader, buyer and seller of goods, and have no intention of turning my back on this thing. I've seen this all before...with the advent of the Internet in the 1990's, the advent of social media in the 2000's, and now the age of Crypto especially Bitcoin in the 2010s and beyond.... Glad I'm able to live long enough to enjoy the ride! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Yeah, The best thing is to keep on accumulating Bitcoins, When the price of Bitcoins will be $1000+ one would make good profits. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) And if it never goes that high again? Best to use the coins to do what you like. Spend them, accumulate more, trade whatever makes you happy. He's essentially getting the coins for free, so yes, he's free to do what he likes with it. That said, since he's only dealing with $25 chunks of Bitcoin, and is essentially getting it for free, why not accumuluate more? He's basically receiving free Bitcoin every month with zero risk involved. Turn that zero risk into something more substantial, rather than pissing it away on alts or mining or unnecessarily spending it. And if it never goes that high again? No skin off his back, because once again, zero risk involved....

Garbage. That's the whole strength of Bitcoin, is it's transparent, trustful, trace any transaction to the Genesis Block Blockchain Ledger.
Having an anonymous blockchain seems shady, seedy, and made for illicit activity.
Thank God this thing is pretty much dead on arrival anyway. Soon to be forgotten in the annals of Crypto history.
RIP Cryptonote.

How about saving so it can be much more useful in the future when it will probably worth a lot more. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Okay, I will consider that. I might just put aside the $25 every week from the sig campaign, and then I have $1,300 at the end of the year. And if BTC is up... You answered you own thread topic. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) BUY, HODL, ACCUMULATE MORE!

Either way, we all know the reasons why Blizzard didn't do it. Pretty much the obvious ones, regulate their own in game currency, change terms, credit/deduct, transfer, change value overnight, etc...have complete and utter control of it.
We all know Bitcoin is unpredictable and volatile, decentralized, etc, but it'd be cool if a famous or known high profile game developer/publisher like a Blizzard, like an EA, like a Take 2 or someone anyone just stood out of their own comfort zone and be like.....we'll be the first one to innovate and step out of the box and integrate Bitcoin into either their payment system, their system for microtransactions like "horse armor", or their in game currency.
That would truly be mind blowing. But for now, they all play it close to the vest and safe...
Pussies.
