It is such a strange thing this election.

We have mugshots of a candidate for president of the US. I think Trump will end up being elected president while in jail.

There must be someone already preparing a movie about this, I'm sure.

The idea is to prevent him from running. That is the message I get when I analyze the strategy from the Democrat party. And to be honest, I don't know how this will turn out. There is not enough opinion poll information to know whether Trump is going to benefit from all this drama or not. And as I have mentioned many times in the past, the POTUS election results are very dependent on what is going on in the swing states. So I want to know whether voters in swing states such as AZ, PA, GA and NV sympathize with Trump or not.

I have noticed that if the odds for al hilal are very small. I understand how al hilal is far superior compare dwith ettifaq but the odds like said if ettifaq had almost zero chance to win. Al hilal already got great result against raet but it would not be stopping there.
Neymar may not able to start his debut with al hilal soon. We will miss him. The club is still having mitrokovic as a key player to win against ettifaq.

If Neymar is not playing (not sure when he is going to join the squad), then why the odds are so high? I agree that they have world class players such as Sergej Milinković-Savić, Aleksandar Mitrović, Malcom and Michael. But Hilal's odds being 10 times better than Al Ettifaq is difficult to fathom. One reason maybe recent form of Al Hilal. They had a terrific match against Al Raed, in which they won by 4-0. And before that they destroyed Abha by a margin of 3-1. Only disappointment was the draw versus Al Feiha.

Here is another fun fact from NeonMan himself,

The record attendance for a FIBA game was 25 years ago, Dream Team II at 32,000. While the Arena in the Philippines and the attendance there was 38,115 fans rooting for Gilas to win, unfortunately, KAT was too strong. Kai Sotto try to guard him but it was clearly a mismatch.

But the good thing about KAT is that he recognized and respect the efforts of team Philippines.

The match was quite close. In fact, by half time, Dominican Republic and Philippines were tied at 42-42. Karl-Anthony Towns obviously top-scored for Dominican Rep and completely dominated the match and without him and the experience from NBA, the hosts would have easily won. In fact even during the third quarter, there were instances where Philippines was leading (although by small margins). But then Dominican Republic performed much better during the fourth quarter, and thereby won the match.

@Sithara007 the image is doctored as there is no Police logo which was contained in the Giuliani mug shot posted above.

Yes, this doctored image is being endlessly viewed and commented on, but like everything else surrounding #45, it's deception.

Well.. I posted it directly from his tweet. In my post, I have mentioned about what he posted. I never claimed that it is taken from the police website. Doctored? Well, he removed the logo, but everything else is same. If he wanted to fire up his userbase, from what I can see he has successfully done that.

@Sithara007. That was what I have always been telling everyone. The Democrats will make a martyr out of Trump. All of these indictments and charges against him will only give more attention to the name Trump and make him a more popular presidential candidate. If he cannot run for president, he can be a kingmaker and support another candidate. Who are the other candidates in the Republicans field?

If he can't run, then he will just boycott the elections and his supporters may either sit at home refusing to vote, or riot. It is going to be a very complicated situation. Trump doesn't trust anyone, not even his children. So in case he is unable to participate in the POTUS elections, then in all probability he will stay away and Biden will have an easy win.
2385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 06:36:16 AM
This had to be, the game with 5 to 0 is very important for motivation. The transfer fees for new players have been 165 million euros and they dont want to see games that they lost. Mane and Ronaldo both scored now 3 goals in 3 games, there is maybe also a small competition among the strikers. I wonder where Alex Telles is, he should also play for Al-Nassr, but has not yet.

Benzema has also scored a goal and he is with his team on first place in the league - 3 games 3 wins.

Once they finalize on the team structure, then it will get easier for Al Nassr. Right now, it is quite a bit messy with new players being added almost every other week. Team members have little experience of playing with each other and this maybe one of the reasons for their poor performance in the first two matches. But the third match went really well for Al Nassr They should take positives out of it, and plan for the remaining matches. I would still say that it may take some more time for them to finalize the right combinations for different positions.

Today is the match of Pakistan vs Afghanistan 3rd ODI. The match starts at 2:30 pm. According, to the last two matches Pakistan had a chance to win this, In the first match Pakistan won easily but in the second match, Pakistan won again but not easily, The second match was too hard for both teams. So, must watch today's match because the Pakistan vs Afghanistan series is very interesting.

Pakistan has already won the series 2-0. And I don't think that Afghanistan has a lot of positives to take away from the first two matches. Today is a prestige match for them. They should try hard not to get whitewashed by Pakistan. But weakness at crucial points would be an issue for them. Pakistan on the other hand doesn't have much to play for. They have already won the series and may be looking forward to test some of their younger players for today's match. This series will act as a morale booster ahead of the Asia Cup, and also for the ODI World Cup.
2387  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian ruble is scam on: August 26, 2023, 03:35:31 AM
Not Just Ruble but pretty much all fiat is a scam it is made from paper and backed by thin air and the government keeps printing it.

But we can't do anything in fact I'm still using it  Grin So funny Fiat Money is the greatest Magic on earth but here we are.

Here Example of US Dollar

✂✂✂✂

There is no doubt that the US Dollar has lost it's purchasing power very steeply over the years. But at the same time, other fiat currencies have performed even worse. Almost 99% of the other fiat currencies are losing their value against USD in the long run. Swiss Franc is a rare exception, were a fiat currency retains its purchasing power even better than the USD. Singapore Dollar and Brunei Dollar are other examples, but these currencies are not very popular. Japanese Yen used to perform well, but in recent times it has also gone down against the USD.

^^^^ 258 million views for the interview with Tucker Carlson. 1.5 million likes 216 million views for the mugshot tweet. Donald Trump for sure has some solid backing in social media platforms. I am not sure whether DeSantis and Ramaswamy (who I believe are the only other two candidates with even a remote chance of winning the GOP nomination) should continue with their presidential run, given the recent poll numbers and also looking at how Trump is completely dominating the GOP space. Shouldn't they try to get a VP spot this time?

Donald Trump set Twitter on fire with his mugshot tweet. 1.5 million likes and 215 million views until now. Elon Musk posted multiple times, including a tweet that claimed that there are approximately 10 million views per hour for this image. I am still not sure how all this drama will work out for Donald Trump in the end, but Trump has received a big boost as a result of all this.

Here is another Tweet from Elon:

2390  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of Russian and Ukrain war on world economy on: August 26, 2023, 03:05:14 AM
Yes you are right  Just as Ukraine is a leader in wheat production, Russia plays a major role in supplying oil, gas, grains, etc. to the entire world.  As a result of the conflict between these two countries, our entire world is suffering in one way or another.  They should think about their own good and the good of the people of the world and settle this mutual conflict.

Ukraine is not the leader in wheat production. That honor goes to Russia. And given the fact that Ukraine has lost control over large swathes of Eastern and Southern regions, the wheat production capacity is even lower now. On the other hand, climate change is helping Russia to increase their output. Wheat yield in Central Russia is going up every year, as a result of rising global temperature, while the bread-basket of Southern Russia retains the output. This year, Russia is expected to export around 47-48 million tonnes of wheat, way more than the EU (38.5 million). Others like Canada and Australia are far behind.
2391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 02:55:10 AM
One of the main reasons for Al Nasser' two match loss was their star player and key striker CR7 not in the squad due to a knee injury. If Al Nasser's star player is not in the squad in a match then it can be assumed that Al Nasser may not win that match. Al Nasser's picture was completely different in yesterday's match. Sadio Mane scored the debut goal of his SPL career yesterday. Sadio Mane scored two goals in yesterday's match and Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the team's main sticklers, completed the hat-trick. Not only did he complete his hat-trick but also had an assist and 11 shots. However, Al Nasser's total standing is not very favorable as they are in the 10th position in the points table and have only 3 points. Although it is only the opening game and there are many more games to go, it is not impossible for Al Nasser to finish in the top three of the points table.

Let's not talk about the standing for now. The season has just started and Al Nassr has played just 3 matches till now. I would say that they were rusty during the initial matches. But the big win against Al Fateh is encouraging for them. Now they have the momentum with them, and I expect them to continue with the same form in their next match (against Al Shabab on 29th August). Last year's SPL was disappointing for Al Nassr. Everyone had high expectations, but they were unable to lift the trophy. Hopefully this time it will be better.

Banning would be an overreaction but giving a penalty of 6 runs would be amazing but i think ICC is looking for some big controversy in some important match, similar to 2019 WC final.
✂✂✂✂

I was actually going to type "warning", but incorrectly typed as "banning".. sorry for that. Now it is being assumed that bowlers need to warn the batsmen for stepping outside the crease (some of the bowlers do that, for the "spirit of the game", while others stick to the rule and run them out). So if there is a need to warn the batsmen, then it should be the duty of the umpire to do that. And I like the idea of deducting 6 runs as penalty. I was actually thinking about a penalty of 1 run, but then it won't be enough to stop this practice of getting undue advantage.
2393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: August 26, 2023, 02:35:23 AM
It should not be like a leader giving appreciation to players who have made their country proud, if this incident were carried out in my country it would be fatal and could tarnish the good name of a leader, but every country has its own culture. And as a leader, you should think before you act or speak so that it doesn't become a big problem and is considered bad in the eyes of society.

I agree. Kissing someone in the lips can't be interpreted as giving appreciation for the good performance. IMO, he just misuses the opportunity for his own benefit. And I am quite surprised with the response from him. Luis Rubiales came out in the open and announced that he has no intention to resign. BTW, now there is another controversy that is coming up. A video recording form the final match has emerged, in which the Spanish coach (Jorge Vilda) is seen grabbing the breast of one of the female non-playing staff. Here are more details on this:

2394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 26, 2023, 02:25:11 AM
The answer to the question of who is the greatest between is becoming more complicated. The match was an easy win in the sense that Al Fateh was no match for Al Nassr. But Ronaldo has proved once again that he is indeed arguably the greatest of all time. He has started to enjoy his stay in Saudi due to the addition of more good players. His hat trick and Mane's brace were more than enough to give the club the maximum three points. Gradually Mane will forget all his struggles in Bayern Munich.

Al Nassr had a very poor start to the current season. They lost their first two matches, which proves that simply adding star players to their lineup is not going to reflect on their performances, unless the team bonding is good. But yesterday's performance was really good. Both Sadio Mané and Cristiano Ronaldo scored 5 goals in between them. I didn't watched the match, but looking at the scoreline it looks to me that they have successfully managed to put the ghost of the first two matches well behind them.

If we are able to check few things surely this will give us better updates as their policies are giving them edge too many immigrants are here, and they are having good facilities and other things which are helpful for having better training and financial packages, so this all is in favor of the USA, and they are ruling the sports world unanimously for decades few countries are trying to catch this all but its never been easy for them as things are never been on level.

Even their main sports are different like NFL, MLB and NHL but still they are best in quality and financial package which is not comparable in near future we can expect good changes but still no challenge for the USA in many sports with now they are getting better in soccer as well hopefully this world cup will bring few more improvements.

Leagues such as the NFL and NBA maybe wildly popular in the US, but at the same time their universities give a lot of importance to athletics and other Olympic sports disciplines. And that is the reason why they perform so well during the Olympic Games. And also, the US attracts a lot of talented athletes. A lot of them migrate to that country and attain the citizenship. In case of football, despite all this they are still unable to perform at the top level. Many of their national team players are of migrant origin, but in the world cups, they have performed poorly.

Recently he had surgery and last i heard he was still recovering from the injury. He's recovering well but still 50-50 chance that he will play in the WC or not.

But after reading posts. I thought maybe Kane Mama recovered, him being a coach was a nice one tho  Undecided. Had to recheck the team roaster for both the T-20 and ODI and ofc he's not there.

His last competitive match was in March 2023 (Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans, during the Indian Premier League). He got injured during that match and the impact sub (Sai Sudharsan) replaced him. So he has been out of action for almost 5 months now, and there is no hint that he will be back anytime soon. Anyway, New Zealand is going through a very tough phase. Their form has been down, and a few days back they even lost an international match to the United Arab Emirates. For the ODI World Cup, the outlook for them doesn't look very bright.
2397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 25, 2023, 07:58:58 PM
New Zealand has started their tour of England on a high note. They easily defeated Worcestershire in the warmup match by 7 wickets. Kyle Jamieson, Lockie Ferguson and Rachin Ravindra picked up 3 wickets to restrict Worcestershire to 124, and then the Kiwi batsmen chased the target in just 12 overs. I don't know how much we should read into this win, because Worcestershire had fielded a very young and inexperienced side. They have one more tour match against Gloucestershire tomorrow, and after that the first T20I is scheduled on 30th August.

Totally agree!
Even if they were best friends or lovers, that behavior was not appropriate, given the situation they were in.

Let's see what will happen. For now, the president of the Spanish federation has already informed that he will not resign.

He (Luis Rubiales) can say whatever he want. But the decision has been taken. The Spanish government has made it clear that they will be initiating legal proceedings against him and he will be asked to resign. And here is the big news:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66621772

Jenni Hermoso made it clear that the kiss was made without her permission or consent. A statement signed by all the 23 players from the world cup squad (including Hermoso) says that consent was not given. At the same time, FIFA has also initiated disciplinary action as per Article 13.
2399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 25, 2023, 07:36:37 PM
Al-Nassr had a bad start to the season. After 2 games without a win, today they were 2-0 up at half time against Al-Fateh. Al-Nassr dominated the game in the first half. Al-Nassr had 15 shots and Ronaldo finished with 1 goal and 1 assist in the first half. More goals are likely in the second half. No goals have been scored yet in the other games. I can say that Al-Shabab and Al-Taawon could score in the second half. We can say that the hosts played more dominant football.

Good to see both Sadio Mané and Cristiano Ronaldo scoring for Al Nassr. Before this match, Al Nassr was at the 16th position, after having lost both of their opening matches. The win today will help them to move to 10th position. But it is still disappointing. Looking at the squad strength, Al Nassr is the strongest team in Saudi Professional League. But then no one expected them to lose matches against Al Ettifaq and Al Tawoun. Hopefully today's win will start a chain reaction and they will be able to improvise further in the coming matches.
2400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 25, 2023, 07:26:19 PM
No trick or controversy IMO. Nonstriker was dumb enough to leave the crease way too early. Clearly, Shadab was taking an unnecessary advantage and not a small one.

Good to see bowlers now have the courage to run out striker and that should be the norm but so called guardians of cricket cry about the spirit of the game and their lackey rally behind them.

Too much drama regarding Mankading going on. First of all, ICC should clarify the rules. The rules are somewhat clear, but there is a lot in the grey zone that needs to be eradicated. If the batsmen is getting undue advantage, then it should be the duty of the umpire (and not the bowler) to ban him. Or a better option would be to impose penalty runs on the batting team, in case the batsman at the other end step out even before the ball is being bowled. That would eradicate all this controversy about Mankading.
