2381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos and Tech Devices on: February 23, 2023, 06:22:54 PM
When I played slots on a tablet device I thought it really entertaining and addicting, maybe due to the fact the tablet's screen isn't too small like a smartphone's one, while being very interactive. I also thought the experience was much more immersive, however I still prefer desktop for the convenience when doing multiple tasks at same time and also because it's the device I use the most during the day. Moreover, desktop is the best device to browser safely, without misclicking places you weren't supposed to with your fingers.
2382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good to accept crypto as a payment? on: February 23, 2023, 04:29:18 AM
Are you guys accepting crypto payments for your business?

for those who know and use Bitcoin of course using it as a means of payment will be very enjoyable. unfortunately, I don't have a business for that. I am still an employee of a private company. but if companies could pay their employees with Bitcoin it would be great of course. but the current problem is related to the regulation of the use of digital currency (Bitcoin) as a means of payment that has not been legalized in several countries. Bitcoin is still considered an investment asset, and ownership is permitted but not for fiat as a means of payment.
I also don't own a business right now, since I'm studying, but if I had one or if I were employed in a private company like you, I would also accept being paid in bitcoin if they gave this opportunity, so I could convert the amount I need for daily expenses to fiat, keeping the rest in bitcoin for investment purposes. I plan doing this futurely, if I achieve the dream of graduating and starting in a new career, as employee or business owner.
2383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting fraud in Brazil 😦 on: February 23, 2023, 02:53:02 AM
It is extremely difficult to catch the heads of those operations. Once you as a player agreed to collude with them you are also into serious trouble if you ever want to get out again, let alone talk to the police and tell them whatever you know. Even then you probably have no idea who the bosses are and maybe you don't even have the real names of those guys you met in person when they gave you cash or whatever.

What is also possible is that some players get blackmailed. Depending on where you are in this world it is not impossible that if you can influence a game and are a potential target for betting fraudsters, they could approach you and leave you no choice but to cooperate.

If I was working with some mafia and then get busted or want to stop, hell I would be afraid of talking. You never know what's going to happen to you the next time you leave your house.
It's true it's difficult to reach the bosses of the mafia, because their structure is composed by many layers of "professionals" who don't interact with partners from too different layers. Someone at the top of the pyramid doesn't have direct contact with someone on the bottom and vice-versa.

But once one or another fraudsters are caught, they should count with protection from authorities and police, through witness protection programs, so they can be free to talk what they know about the scheme without retaliation to their lives and the lives of their families. As far as I know it's an obligation of the state to guarantee this right to the individuals involved on the case.
2384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is currently the best crypto to invest in? on: February 22, 2023, 07:41:36 PM
I have been a crypto enthusiast for some time now, thou I have lacked consistentency, but over the years I have seen people who have carved out good lives for themselves with crypto, either by direct or indirect investment.,as a result I wish to invest in crypto with cash, but with minimal knowledge,so I seek the help of this house in advise on which crypto to invest in currently as someone who is just getting to learn about crypto currency.
If I give you advice it will definitely motivate you to invest in Bitcoin only. Bitcoin is the only currency in which to invest without doubt. But it will not always guarantee you profit unless you can hold it for a long time. So if you are interested in long term investment then invest in Bitcoin. Because investing in altcoins may give you a high profit but there will be high risks which Bitcoin does not have. yes, investing in bitcoin is also riak but less then Altcoins
Bitcoin is indeed the best alternative for newbies and for experts. Bitcoin is for everyone and OP will be doing the right decision if he goes through this way on his investment. However, I just fear his minimal knowledge may prevent him from storing his coins safely in a decent wallet, like a hardware Ledger or Trezor one. More or proportionally dangerous to investing in the wrong cryptocurrency, is to not know how to hold it with security.
2385  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 22, 2023, 06:39:01 PM
~snip~
Most of the negative ratings are related to the multiply BTC game. The users are complaining that the hi-lo game is unfair. Seems like people are leaving negative feedback on Trustpilot after losing their account balance in the hi-lo game. Some people have mentioned that they have lost most of their bets and getting longer losing streak. Maybe they are ignoring the 5% house edge of the multiply BTC game of Freebitco.

Some people also complained that their account was blocked without any reason. But it only happens if anyone creates multiple accounts or use bots to claim the faucet.
Probably those people saw videos on youtube from referrals hunters promising safe income by playing the multiplier game on automatic mode. Those videos have always been very popular, with many falling for them. Actually, they should blame the scammers who promise that is a money making method instead of blaming the platform. I can really feel on those comments the anger for losing money they didn't expect to lose, due to believing it was a "safe bet".
2386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Ways to Make Big Money at the Casino — Without Gambling on: February 22, 2023, 06:02:03 PM
The "Sue the Casino" story remembered me another story which was shared on the forum weeks or a month ago about a woman who also had won big on the jackpot of a land based casino, but had the prize denied, due to it being considered a glitch or bug from the machine. In compensation, the casino had offered only a dinner as consolation prize. And even after suing the casino, the woman still had her jackpot denied by the justice system.

At least on this case shared by OP the woman has received her full prize after suing the house. When gamblers face this kind of issue they have to be lucky in double: first to win the prize on the machine, and second to have their lawsuit on the hands of a judge who will grant them the reward after all.
2387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 22, 2023, 03:36:19 AM
It makes me wonder: why do gamblers tend to wait until they have suffered a catastrophic loss or a string of losses before quitting or seeking help?
It depends on the gambler. The same way I've heared many stories of gamblers who say gambling ruined their lives, I've also heared stories of gamblers who stopped in time and didn't let this hobby become an addiction. I guess gamblers don't tend to act like that. The point is that there are every kinds of gamblers around, and what will really matter for you is what kind of gamblers' behavior you take into consideration to make your analysis.

Without further evidence and data, we can't really claim gamblers tend to ask for help only after they are screwed up.
2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 22, 2023, 01:52:54 AM
For the new generations there aren't excuses to not know what bitcoin is. The lack of information and general knowledge those 2 girls displayed on the shared video is astonishing! I imagine the kind of content those girls access daily at school and on the media isn't something very educative...

I can't blame their whole generation for that, though, because it's not fair to take 2 examples and consider it as the general rule for everyone else on the same age range. The objective of the channel is to show absurd decisions by the interviewed people. So the youtuber is definitely going to show only this side of the coin on his videos, although I'm sure many other interviewed people have decided for bitcoin, without any doubts.
2389  Economy / Economics / Re: The Rise of GPT AI. Crypto is at risk? on: February 22, 2023, 01:43:20 AM
"GPT AI has also been used to develop trading bots that can automatically execute trades based on pre-programmed rules and conditions. These bots can monitor the market 24/7 and make trades based on real-time data, which can lead to more profitable trades and reduced risk."

Based on that statement alone, we can conclude that there will be potential risks such as trading bots that could manipulate the market which could lead to significant losses.

How about you, what are your thoughts regarding this one?
Trading bots and AIs aren't something new on the internet. There is a lot of talk about it right now due to the hype which was created around ChatGPT. But that is still a hype and nothing else.

Crypto market has been manipulated since the beginning by whales, so what difference does an AI make on this process? And regards trading bots, keep in mind they aren't an assurance traders are going to have profit. Many traders have already lost money using such tools.
2390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge really go to the moon? on: February 21, 2023, 09:08:45 PM
The majority of people are believing that Elon will do something and Dogecoin will hit $1 by this year. What do you think guys? Will tesla accept dogecoin as a payment? And the chances are high that other merchants do accept dogecoin as a payment.
Where did you see majority of people predicting DOGE is going to hit the 1$ mark this year? The last DOGE's ATH was highly speculative and I doubt the same impact will be felt on the next bullish season. It's really likely this cryptocurrency will have a nice progress, but something like 1$ doesn't look possible, because DOGE is pricing 8 cents right now, what means it has to grow x12,5 times in order to reach the 1$ mark.

It's like saying Bitcoin will hit 300,000$ this year or on the next bull run, what is also really difficult.
2391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to run a bounty campaign? on: February 21, 2023, 08:05:48 PM
What can I do to become a manager, please tell me
You have to be able to create spreadsheets, keep them updated and be an organized person to handle every participants of the campaign. You need crypto knowledge to execute transactions efficiently, keep funds for payments safe in the campaign's wallet. You need domain over English language, so you can communicate with participants and your employers properly. You also need a lot of time available to execute every tasks required from you.
2392  Other / Archival / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: February 21, 2023, 07:39:53 PM
I have some difficult explaining bitcoin to people, because they seem to not absorb its concept very well, besides not feeling excited by the features bitcoin provide, such as decentralization, boardless transactions, person to person negotiations and self custody. I'm not so sure they don't understand it, though. It just looks like they aren't interested on bitcoin, because they think fiat perfectly fufill their currently daily needs.

Maybe once inflation starts kicking harder, people will change their point of view in bitcoin's favor.
2393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 21, 2023, 04:16:43 PM
I was actually wondering if there are any restrictions on age as to investing in Bitcoin?
I read threads where people have constantly introduced Bitcoin to their underaged children (10years below) and I really don't think it's necessary because I feel those kids still have some mental growth  to do and since Bitcoin is a very volatile digital asset, I think children shouldn't be made to go through such stress.
With proper guidance from parents and mentors I believe there is no issues or stress for kids when investing in bitcoin. Of course they won't be aware of everything, like a teenager and an adult would, but they can already become part of crypto environment, thinking on long term goals.

Same thing also applies to the elderly as I've also read news of people trying to get some retirees investing their pensions into crypto rather than advising them to relax and enjoy their pension and I really wanted to know if it's wise to get kids and elderly into the crypto industry.
It's hard to guide elders through bitcoin investment, because they aren't skilled on informatics matter and are usually very close minded to new concepts, but still possible to introduce them anyway, if a guidance measure is used, just like when introducing kids to bitcoin.

Important to keep in mind a lot of patience is needed when dealing with kids and elders, so it's not for everyone...
2394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the future of bitcoin without powerful nations? on: February 20, 2023, 06:32:55 PM
Countries like USA and China have great influence in bitcoin's price. As we have seen, always an impacting news come from those countries, like China has banned bitcoin or US has raised interest rates, we also see an effect over bitcoin, usually negative.

On the other hand, I've never seen any influence of such strength coming from any african nations regards bitcoin, so I really don't understand why you added Africa in your post.

What is your speculation if bitcoin keeps revaluing in price?
Do you see a good outlook soon?
Despite the negative influence powerful nations have over bitcoin, there is still a bright future for the digital currency, as supply gets more scarce, mining difficult increases, fiat loses purchasing power and centralized institutions lose credibility with the public.
2395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: February 20, 2023, 03:59:35 PM
There is nothing wrong with USDT. Right from the first day I entered into the cryptocurrency market till today, I have been hearing the FUD about USDT. The story of it being centralized, the story of it being closed source and the owners keep minting new USDT illegally. The story of it being freezen by US government.
Some of the stories are even laughable but yet the coin is still strong. The last time I checked that is the second largest cryptocurrency in adoption and cap after bitcoin.
I believe the only way you could assure there is nothing wrong with USDT would be if you were inside the company, having access to details of their business. Between trusting a private company and the government, I would still prefer to hold fiat, because at least that way we have the guarantee from the central bank we are going to be reimbursed up to some amount of money, if something goes wrong with the bank where we hold our money.
2396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give it a break. on: February 20, 2023, 03:14:40 PM
At this point what do you think about this gambling strategy I use? Although yours may not be with 5-7 streaks in a week you can also set a number of streaks convenient with you to use. Or is there anyone out there already using this strategy and how beneficial has it being to you?
The strategy is good, as long as it's working for you. It's similar to setting a fixed budget for the week, so once you spend it entirely, you give a break till the next week, when a new budget will be disponible for you.
By respecting these limits you can maintain a healthy gambling activity week after week without major negative consequences over your financial life.
2397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: February 20, 2023, 03:20:15 AM
I agree that a team's superstars don't guarantee success. It depends on individual talent and teamwork. France, an example, has succeeded because its players know each other's strengths and weaknesses. I believe the Netherlands can recover from their recent struggles. Despite their lack of celebrities, they have a strong foundation of talented players who have performed well in their domestic leagues. They can improve their game and become powerful with proper instruction and tact.

In football, especially modern football. a team doesn't only need star players or superstars as the key to victory or a determinant of the team's overall performance. Football is currently more adopting a teamwork game system, not just relying on superstar players. and if we refer to France at the 2022 world cup Qatar, even Mbappe doesn't always show his best game, except in the final match vs Argentina. but here too we can see the role of the coach, and how they mix up their team so that the players play in an organized manner. the coaches build a system, chemistry, bonds, and finally the talent of the players.

As for the Netherlands squad, even though they failed to qualify for the next phase at the Qatar 2022 world cup. The Netherlands showed quite an impressive game, even though it was not supported by very well-known star players. Van Gal was able to take his team a step further, they showed a good game as well as solid teamwork. unfortunately, the Netherlands had to meet Argentina in the quarter-finals and they were eliminated from the penalty shoot-out. but to be honest, the Netherlands has had a pretty good performance and I'm quite happy with the current development of the Dutch squad. maybe, in the 2026 cup later they can surprise again.
Sometimes the key players make the difference for the final victory, and sometimes they don't. On the last two world cups we have winners featuring star players as the major reason why they have won. In 2018 it was France with Mbappe and in 2022 it was Argentina with Messi. However, in 2014 Germany was the winner with a pretty solid and balanced team, where there wasn't a star player carrying everyone else on his back.

So it's kinda of random, it seems.
2398  Economy / Economics / Re: Keanu Reeves says Principle behind Cryptocurrency is Amazing on: February 20, 2023, 12:39:51 AM
Quote
Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves talks about cryptocurrencies, NFTs, metaverse, and much more, during the promotion of John Wick 4, saying the principle behind cryptocurrency is amazing.
Last June Keanu Reeves launched Futureverse Foundation with Fluf world NFT along with artist Alexandra Grant. Regarding the foundation, Reeves stated it’s something his partner, Alexandra Grant, is really interested in, so he’s kind of riding her coattails.

“I helped set up the launch. We’re trying to take this technology that people are interested in and give opportunities to artists with different viewpoints,” the Matrix star added.

https://www.cryptotimes.io/keanu-reeves-says-principle-behind-cryptocurrency-is-amazing/
That is probably the reason why Keanu Reeves is shilling for cryptocurrencies now. After all, it's a capitalist world where each individual, despite them being celebrities or not, will pursue and endorse products they are involved with.

The most recent memory I have about Reeves and business is his participation on the Cyberpunk 2077 game fiasco. He was the poster boy of the game and a lot of expectations were created due to his participation, as he is seen in a very special manner by the audience. Anyway, it didn't end well for players who pre-ordered the game, paying a much more expensive price for the product, which was considered a failure due to the blatant number of bugs, glitches presented.

So, be careful with what celebrities endorse, even if it's Keanu Reeves. Cheesy
2399  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: February 19, 2023, 08:30:26 PM
there are many people investing in bitcoin, some are profitable and some are losing. and I believe bitcoin has a big advantage. The question is whether when you benefit from bitcoin, you can help your economy and your family?
Not solely bitcoin, but adding bitcoin to bitcointalk forum and Stake casino I can say thanks to that junction of factors I'm able to benefit myself economically and also help my family monthly. However, if I was simply investing in bitcoin, without other sources of income involved, I believe I couldn't say I was being benefited at all in a sustainable way, because I would have to use my holdings for daily expenses and emergencies, therefore at some point I wouldn't have bitcoins from early years of investment anymore.

So it's important to respect the time bitcoin takes to mature into a more valuable asset, while not using it for banal reasons, rather using it for growing your patrimony even more, like purchasing a house or property, for an example.
2400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've invested around 450 dollars into bitcoin so far and I am 16 years old on: February 19, 2023, 06:38:30 PM
Okie dokie everyone. A lot of people are saying that I should invest in a hardware wallet to secure my future of holding my btc. The idea of a hardware wallet is very attractive to me and I will get one as soon as I can. Currently, I don't have the money to even get a hardware wallet so I'll try to ask for one for my birthday or I'll save up for one. Some of the bitcoin wallets I see are rather expensive (Like ledger) these bitcoin wallets are pretty much off the table since currently, I have no way to make money other than on birthdays and holidays. My dad has a lot of experience in crypto so maybe he'll have one lying around I'm not sure. It's super awesome having a dad who's into programming, crypto, and tech stuff especially since he's 46 years old and most people his age don't really understand much about programming/tech especially crypto. I will try to get a job as soon as I can (since I'm not actually 16 yet I'm 15 lmao I turn 16 next week sorry for the clickbait). I've applied to many jobs but they never even responded since it's most likely due to me being 15 and not 16.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
I believe this model is one of the cheapest ones:

https://trezor.io/trezor-model-one

Although it looks outdated, it fulfills its purpose very well... It shouldn't be that hard or challenging to have enough money to acquire this device in a country like USA. And since your father is into this universe for longer, he will understand your demand in having a hardware wallet sooner as possible to store your currently 450$ in BTC currency safely.
