HAHA this guy is insane. ASICMINER sells a USB miner that does 300MH/S for less than $300. How does this guy expect to bring 614KH/S for $1500 to us without being laughed at?? Maybe this is a joke?

burnside, there is a html problem with your main page right now. crypto-trades announcement isn't breaking soon enough before the trades list. It's all messed up!

I'd suggest anyone who hasn't, and refuses to return the double div, be blacklisted from btct.co.
thats the dumbest thing i ever heard. there are ways to correct something like this but solving this with a nazi mentality is far from the best way

I also heard that SEWAGE is the new GOLD! The big advantage of sewage is that its MUCH easier to mine than gold, so opens itself up as an opportunity with people who don't have expensive mining equipment! Finally, something that's easy to mine!

With 2590/3972 yes votes(65.2%) I'm going to proceed with the assumption that the motion to invest a portion of idle funds in ASICMiner-PT will pass. If enough votes are changed over the next few days to alter the outcome of this motion I will liquidate whatever shares have been acquired at the best price available. I feel it's in our best interest to obtain these shares over time so as to maximize shareholder value.
Last dividend from ASICMiner was .02653753/share. With a current 24h avg share price of 2.5131 that translates to a generous APY of 55.061%. Their current hash rate(23.97Th/s) and share of the network(28.28%) are both at or near all time highs.
Cheers.
Good decision. Call it a savings account for when the time is right This is so much better than dead money

its less productive than a bottle cap collection

need to implement some kind of tor-style bitcoin exchange, with "IBAN" nodes that can convert to cash, so the same business account isn't used to deal with all transfers.

it's called supply and demand if difficulty gets too high and miners drop out, difficulty will drop, as new miners who can take on the challenge take over that simple

And that would matter why? Each coin has its own life once it leaves the gates.
If the block time gets to low it does sacrifice the security of the network. Someone with more knowledge could probably explain it, but I have seen several core devs state that it would cause problems if you go 1 minute or less or anything close to it like 1:15 also would probably be too low.
so then why doesnt bitcoin make it 2 minutes?

I noticed all these altcoins seem to aim for faster block time. I thought this speed was chosen by the creators of bitcoin to obtain a balance of speed and network security. From what i've read, network security is sacrificed when you choose a faster block time for a new coin. What is the argument that altcoin lovers have against this? Or are people simple falling for a "faster block time is better" perception that non tech savvy users (apparently) share?
If this perception is false, there should be a sticky thread explaining this so people can understand that faster isn't necessarily better, otherwise bitcoin would already be doing it...
If this perception is true, then bitcoins block time should be adjusted, right?

When buying ASICMINER shares how does the profit vs share work?
thanks!
I'd like To see this as well. I have now 3 5GH butterfly rigs on order but none delivered. I've read you can over clock butterfly's rigs to do double their spec output so that could put those 3 rigs as 30GH which wouldn't be bad unless difficulty skyrockets and I'm sure it will. Are there any engineers or hackers around that can shine some light on how difficult it would be to over clock butterfly's 5GH unit, if/when it ships? TIA. seems kind off off-topic?

Anyone else get double divs on the TAT PT?
A glitch in the payment system caused the dividend to go out twice. This coin did come from my pocket, so I ask that you please hold onto the extra amount for now. I am waiting on Burnside to decide the best way to resolve this. Please note that a snapshot of all accounts was taken, so we can separate who owned shares at the time. Please make this easy to resolve by sitting tight. Thank you! I believe the best way is just lock trading for a week and deduct them out of future dividends. PLEASE DON'T GOX US!
