Here's a weird one...this address/wallet only has around 86,310.49975752 POT but shows 124,877.65794073 POT?!

I tried -resync and -salvagewallet but nothing changes.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/address.dws?PSbEfgz1EVA5z2mNwwbiTftgPBzFjhY6p5.htm

Edit: CAUTION...I found that the wallet would no longer accept my passphrase after running -resync or -salvagewallet. Fortunately I backed up the wallet before I did -salvagewallet and -resync.

Am going to try a restore from an older backup to see if it fixes the higher amount.

Has there been any word from forrestv as to weather this new "XT" client is actually compatible with p2pool with it's different block size params?

I'm using XT. Working good here. Still looking into what it actually patches and how it effects mining. Any info would be appreciated.
XT implements BIP101, among other things like improved double spend tracking.  BIP101 allows for increasing maximum block size, thereby removing the 1MB cap currently in place.

If you find a block with an XT node, you'll be able to tell because the version number will be different.  Currently, all blocks found by Core software are version 3.  Blocks found by XT are version 536870919.

Right now, it makes no difference because BIP101 (larger block sizes) doesn't go into effect until 1/11/2016 at the earliest.  However, come that date if 75% of blocks found are by XT then larger block support goes into effect and we've got a hard fork.

Have any blocks been found by a node running XT?

If it does fork to support larger block sizes I believe a code change on p2pool would need to be done for it to create larger blocks.

Posting here since it is more active than reddit.

Anyone else seeing their potwallet use up a ton of CPU cycles? Mine is cycling between 64.8% up to 97.9% on Windows where I have a bunch of coins...my Linux wallet with zero coins is cycling between 0.0 and 16.3.

How many individual blocks of coins do you have? The more chunks of coins, the more cpu and ram the wallet is likely to use. The upside is that when we do get the POSv going, those blocks will be combined by the wallet and if I am right you will see your resource use drop.

Yes, have a ton of small chunks of coin! Dating back to early 2014..over 8972 received transactions. Cheesy

Have another wallet with much smaller chunks of coins and many more transactions but not actively staking that one since the total # of coins is about 1/10 the size.

247  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF100-the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner gets into mass production on: August 19, 2015, 06:29:22 AM
That web interface and the way it works is similar to the one that was available and used mostly by people in China when the original gridseeds came out. It functioned with a specific controller that was available as an option with the 5-chip gridseeds when they first came out. I still have two of them around here somewhere. I only used it for just a bit to check out before rolling my own version of cgminer with gridseed support.

It wasn't until the 5-chip gridseeds started to become available outside of China that people started building alternate mining software. Until then everyone used it. It used to drop miners all the time so custom methods were developed to power cycle automatically. The old controller is a device similar to a Pi...forget exactly what it was but the generic version (without their custom firmware) is available that does something I forget. Tongue (might have been a WiFi extender.....but again, I forget)

You're lucky...the original web interface was (originally) only in Chinese. At least this newer updated version is in English.  Roll Eyes

Either way...I imagine most people here will soon ditch it in favor of something more common such as cgminer once support is built. It seems this time around they built this controller into the device? Hope it is something generic like a Pi that we can provide our own firmware for....otherwise an alternative controller will need to be devised.  Cool

Although the concept of a central cloud managed web interface to your miners is kinda neat...it even allowed updating of the device firmware from their site... I imagine it would make it easier to manage 100's or 1000's of miners... I personally was just more comfortable with cgminer at the time as it was familiar to me. I haven't checked out this new version so they may have made a lot of improvements....such as it being in English now Wink

...also in theory I would think someone with back-end access to this cloud managed web interface could direct hash anywhere they desired...even siphon off tiny amounts from everyone so no one notices....we're such an untrusting lot aren't we Cheesy

when we can buy again these miner?
Nobody knows really but I think zoomhash has a couple instock at the crazy price of 2000$, so if you really want one and want to lose money you could get one from them, I would wait it out,  they seem to be having issues.

It is crazy how much they jacked the price a 40 percent margin on a reseller is rediclous.  I think were better off waiting on future batch and we will have a chance at roi then.

I predict resellers start at high mark, and run them their self  until sold.   Most likely keeping a high margin till next batch is close to shipping.    It is sad but we can hope next batch soon.
Oh most definitely they are doing that and until the next batch is there they can drop it down to a 10% percent mark up and make a ton still and have had some free machines to mine off for a couple of months.

I don't believe it's legal to do that in the USA (selling used equipment as new). I would hope zoomhash would know better. If anyone receives a unit from zoomhash that obviously looks used they should explore their legal options. I bet you could end up getting the miner for free after damages Smiley

Personally I like the A2's, I think they're a great scrypt miner, although my experience with any other scrypt ones is zero (I primarily do BTC).  If you haven't checked out my custom A2 image, then you definitely should, as it adds some nice features to the unit:

How did I miss that? Thanks for making that image! Going to check it out after I read through your thread.

my wallet is froze sinking up at 897474.. ?

Did you resync with the new wallet? If not, then you need to.

I would also add:

banscore=5

to your conf file.

Thanks for your input MarkAz! I used a Kill-A-Watt for my readings and saw it go up to 1170w max. Once I get the Corsair Link monitoring working I will get a better look at what's going on. Unfortunately it only runs on Windows  Undecided

The AX1200i's efficiency is much better on 240v! Unfortunately I am on 120v for now.

Power results with the AX1200i:

I keep it running at 1100 freq. That is already over the 80% rule and I would be uncomfortable running at 1200 freq since that is pushing the AX1200i to its max rating. Thoughts?

The surprising part is that the Mh/W and W/Mh both get better as I get closer to the power supplies max rating?

Updated the second post with my power readings. I just noticed that the freq almost equals the amount of watts the miner users  Smiley

The wallet of a pool synchronized blocks from a node with the version less than 0.8.7.1, happened FORK!

Now REINDEX is again started!

Why it is impossible to make so that the wallet didn't use a nodes with the version less than at it?

I posted that info a few posts up....guess no one reads my stuff  Undecided Cry

banscore=5

..will keep you from connecting to older versions.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PotCoin | GROW WITH US | CRITICAL WALLET UPDATE - POSv | on: August 07, 2015, 06:04:58 PM
Is the wallet still fubar? Is there anywhere I can mine this? When is the fix for the wallet?

why the block reward was reduced with 52 to 12 POT?

The wallet wasn't fubar. The issue was the pools creating their own blockchain and forking the network. The devs fixed it by bringing on enough hashpower to force the network back onto the correct chain but all of that will be moot in a couple of weeks when POW is over and everyone is on POSv, after that the old wallets will fail to work regardless.

xpool.net is a good place to mine...although I am bias it has been on the right chain. I have been keeping an eye on it.

Anyone know how to kick off a peer connection from the daemon?

I have one connection (162.243.5.214) that is still on 0.8.6.4.

Edit: potcoind addnode 162.243.5.214 remove? Gives me an error Sad
In my quest to figure out why I was missing some receive addresses I stumbled upon something that answers one of my previous questions: "How do you keep your wallet/daemon from connecting to older version"

I noticed that older clients had a ban score of 10 and then discovered the banscore commandline switch. If you don't want to connect to older versions add banscore=5 to your conf file or alternatively launch potcoin with -banscore=5.

No more connections to previous versions Cheesy

Here is something I haven't seen before. Followed the upgrade instructions by deleting everything except for my wallet.dat file and letting it resync (still syncing).

I noticed that the wallet now has a new address that did not belong to me before. My other addresses are gone. All my transactions are there and I am not missing any coins.

I tried using a backup of my wallet file and my old addresses are there.

New address (valid?):
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/search.dws?q=PXh1tH3pxVkvNLcSxA4nrZnF7bHHaLkdRd

Any idea? Did my wallet file somehow get corrupt? Where did this new address come from and what happened to my other addresses?
I am guessing I will need to revert to the backup wallet file.

Any address for any coin will not be seen as a "valid" and existing address until it has at least 1 input. Your wallet may have become corrupted, you should have no issue falling back to a backup, you can also export the keys from the backup and import them to a new wallet.

Well, I'm now all synced up and my old wallet addresses are still not there.  Embarrassed
Tried running -salvagewallet and now my list of Receive addresses is completely empty.

Edit: Sent 1 POT to a missing address and it showed up! Cheesy
Edit2: Strange...been mining on p2pool and receiving payments but that did not cause the missing address to show up. Probably because blocks mined on p2pool are "generated" not send/received.

Thought I should post that I have finally (about a month ago) retired this system. It has been shut down and is in the process of being dismantled. For most of it's life it was mining scrypt but towards the end when the GPU fans gave out (and they ALL gave out eventually) it was transitioned to X11.

One of the power supplies has found a new home in an A2 Mega Terminator. More info on that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1145159

This being a hobby I do not really track profits/loss but without a doubt it has made many times over the cost to build...but if you factor in my normal hourly bill rate I'm not so sure.  Wink
