After some thought I have decided to abandon the altcoin space. I feel the energy should be better spent to improve BTC and enhance the protocol to cover the things it needs. Of the alts I have seen in the last 5 months, I am convinced that all are pump and dumps and truly do not intend to do anything more then create, pump, exchange and dump for BTC. I am continuing this project but will be converting the investments to BTC instead of ZET. Having checked out inputs and other off chain systems it seems the need for an alt to accomplish the fast deposit needs of the app is not really needed. If the app supports the alt coins in the future it will be through and exchange with btc. I have returned all investment of ZET to the addresses that sent the deposit. Once the app launches the only investment system will be the in-app system. Once I have the beta ready I will open this thread for IPO purchase. Is anybody else concerned about the lack of a price spike after the block halving? It makes me think there are no new buyers in the zet market. So the holders will continue to hold and collect more coins mining, all the while the price/hash power slowly declines over time as people leave the community. 75% of all coins have already been mined...and a market cap of just ~650 BTC...is this coin dying?
I don't think the coin is dying. We need to get the services in place. If we can get the following in place, this coin should have a bright future. 1. Android/Iphone Wallet - I am porting a wallet I found but have not gotten it working 100%. Have limited time to spend on it of late. 2. Online Website Wallet - I bet 90% of folks holding ZET are using Cryptsy or Coin-ex wallet. 3. Payment gateway for merchants. Anything else I have forgotten? Do we need to offer greater bounties for the services? |

As for banning. You are using their site and agreeing to their TOS. The article: http://falkvinge.net/2013/09/13/bitcoins-vast-overvaluation-seems-to-be-caused-by-usually-illegal-price-fixing/ was a good read, although these issues should resolve as more people switch to using BTC instead of BTC valued at USD. We welcome your honest feelings on your hunches, thoughts and speculations. Just remember, everyone has the right to learn from their own mistakes, you are not the protector that must protect the naive little newbie altcoin day-trader(lol). We are all passing the bag around on day-trading alt coins to address the want and greed that is ingrained in us. Occasionally one of these alt coin experiments will have some merit and move the greater experiment of BTC along to the next level. So stay spunky. |

I think I've painted myself into a corner. I created the address ( http://bit.usr.sh:2750/address/Za5W5jHtjiv1bpVrU8cETBNH9u5qGGkYqC) for My Durrell Wildlife Conservation Fund-raising in the same QT client as my main Zetacoin address. I thought I could move funds from my main address, not touching the Durrell address. I use Blockchain.info for BTC and that is an option there. Not in the QT client. I cannot say which address to use when transferring funds. The only work-around I can see now is to install the QT client on another of my machines and use it explicitly for Durrell charity, transferring the so-far accumulated funds to the new address and retiring the current one. Any other suggestions for practical wallet.dat management for ZET? For the different projects/raffles I like to rename wallet.dat and load the client with a new wallet.dat. I then use that one specifically so all the history is in one place and when the project/raffle is over I can rename the wallet and store it in a safe place. HTH |

My ZET android casino is eating up all my spare time but is moving along. I have a semi functioning Mycelium wallet working. https://github.com/mycelium-com/wallet but still am getting some random crashes on my android phone. Any other projects going on? How is the faucet doing? For the official domain, what are the plans with it? Would be nice to move the forum to it, maybe add in a vanity address gen. Perhaps officially creating/announcing the dev team would be useful to the community. Without a strong dev support, this coin may not have a future. Giskard has done a great job of keeping it updated and being responsive so far. |
