in my opinion altcoin can make a huge profit or income after you buy it, but it has a big risky too.
bitcoin will never make 2-5x in few month, but altcoin can make it in only 1 month.
so that the different, and also bitcoin already has a big marketcap,that too is a reason.

I don't think altcoins can survive without btc, so I think the price of btc will continue to affect the price of altcoins.
