241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Incorrect Bitcore(BTX) Circulating Supply on CMC on: November 19, 2017, 10:38:17 PM
Greetings Community,

As many of you know, the Bitcore team have been trying to work through the issues with CMC about our circulating supply being incorrectly displayed. I believe CMC views our "virtually forked" coins to Bitcoin holders to not be in circulation so in response our circulating supply has been arbitrarily frozen at 1,195,602 as of November 6th. Since November 6th, we have tried to establish direct contact and consequently we have been waiting for our circulating supply to be corrected. We are now creating this poll to enlist the help of the community in determining a good solution to the problem. Below is a brief description regarding each option and also the spreadsheet that documents everything from the airdrops, first claiming period, virtual fork, development fund addresses, and even the supply from mining. We stopped the calculations at block 84700 so anything that has occurred after that is not accounted for in the spreadsheet. We hope that you find this poll satisfactory and if you have any questions then please be sure to ask.

Sincerely,

Your Bitcore Team

Option 1: Circulating Supply includes the "virtually forked" coins

This option would essentially mean that all coins not currently controlled by the development team are considered in circulation. The numbers are documented below in the spreadsheet and this would mean the circulating supply would be 9,945,943.897515 as of block 84700. We think that this treatment is very fair since the coins are not in our possession and it is exactly how Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, and even additional forks have been calculated by CMC.

Option 2: Circulating Supply does not include the "virtually forked" coins but still all of other coins

This option would not consider the "virtually forked" coins to be in circulation but all other coins would still be counted in the circulating supply. The circulating supply for this option would be 1,625,941.46974566. All additional airdrops and coins mined beyond block 84700 would of course have to be added to the running total.

Option 3: Circulating Supply should be permanently frozen at 1,195,602

This option would mean that our circulating supply, despite any proven numbers, would be permanently frozen at 1,195,602.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gzHqrDDCHyfBtA4H4wl15VYHQzwwfULcJq1r4JcVnOA/edit?usp=sharing

To be fair with all other coins, Option #1 is the logical choice.

Having said that, I also understand why CMC is questioning the virtually forked coins. From all the 8M coins, how many were redeemed? I mean probably 99.9% of all BTC address holders have absolutely no idea they can claim 0.5BTX per 1BTC they own. Even if over time more and more people will claim their BTX, one could argue that the vast majority of BTC holders will never claim their free BTX.

Am I right if I assume that the only virtually forked BTX coins that are in circulation are the one that were claimed by BTC address holders. If yes, then the true circulation from that portion of the circulation is not 8M, but just a few thousands?

So I think you should have an option #4 that would be Option #2 + the virtually forked coins that have been claimed by BTC address holders.

Why, because these virtually forked coins if they never get claimed, they will never really be in circulation.

My 2 sense!

BTW, I'm one of the early adopters of this project. I first invested last summer.

It would be nice if we stayed around the 40$ level so we could accumulate more but I don't think that will happen... Sky's the limit when we hit the big exchanges IMHO  Cool

Agree!

We had a pretty parabolic rise over the past few days. I think we'll a pullback to $25-$30 and then slowly climb up again to a new high.

On the flip side, many people invest in BTX for its stability and airdrop, so price may stay in the $35-$40 for a little while.

Either case, BTX is a nice ride!

Where can I find more information about the dev team for this project?
What have they accomplished prior to this project?

ETA for BTX to hitbtc?

About 20Hours  Smiley I am watching the war in the troll box BTG vs BCH war. Wait till BTX in the mix hahaha
i don't need to watch . won't sell under $70  Cheesy

Hell no 70 is way too low. Maybe 700 Grin

We have a lot obstacles until $70   ... first the correction will be  around 10 - 13$. And if every thing is normal then will goin up again.

If BTG can hold $150+ value, the is no reason why BTX could not maintain $100-$400 value over the long run.
I'm bullish on BTX and with the airdrop, I don't plan to sell anytime soon.

My price target was $20 for January, which already reached. My next target is $100 by June 2018 and $400 by January 2019.

My goal is to accumulate as many BTX as possible in my crypto portfolio.

WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS COIN  FROM 2$ TO 25$

DEV. Why did not you tell us you would go to the moon?

I am crying now because I have missed a spacecraft

Market decide the price, not dev team!

I've been posting the specs of Bitcore all over Youtube. I've even posted some comments on the Bitcoin Cash thread on Reddit. I typically comment about the fact that it has more than twice the block size of Bitcoin Cash and that it's faster. I also mention that it's a fraction of the price of Bitcoin Cash and that it has a lot more room to grow than Bitcoin Cash. Lastly, I mention that there is a 3% airdrop every Monday during this month and that it will increase by 1% each month until the coins are fully distributed. Spread the word and focus on those key points and the community will continue to grow.

What kind of response do you get from these communities?

The response was actually pretty positive, especially on the Bitcoin Cash Reddit thread. Surprisingly, when I list the specs of Bitcore with more than twice the blocksize, plus Segwit and Bloom online, the fact that Bitcore is faster than Bitcoin Cash, as well as the currently low price of Bitcore, I really didn't get much of a push back. Of course I had a bit of resistance, but Bitcoin Cash really doesn't offer any feature that is superior to Bitcore. It's difficult to make an argument when they have the inferior coin that is overpriced and artificially pumped up. Bitcoin Cash's primary argument is that they have larger blocksize and are faster than Bitcoin. Bitcore destroys them in both categories. Think about it, when you put Bitcore next to Bitcoin Cash, Bitcore absolutely destroys Bitcoin Cash in every category other than price. And to be honest, price is the category with the greatest potential because we have so much room to move up. I am waiting for negative comments, but so far none have been posted. I'm going to continue working on the Bitcoin Cash community and I think that I can get many of them to see the light Grin

Great leadership Cryp0kid!

Indeed I have yet to come across a negative comment about Bitcore, except the CMC issue, which has nothing to do with the BTX dev team.
So glad I first invested in August at $2.15, and in September, and in October and again last week!

Wonder if BTX will one day take place that BCH want to become and be the REAL currency that most merchant will adopt as a payment solution.   ...but that's a long way to go!

Hello everyone,

The macOS wallet is fully working the problem are the missing libraries that are not shipped with a default installation of macOS.

Please install homebrew by executing the following command in your terminal: /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

After it is installed just install the missing boost libraries with the following command: brew install boost --c++11

If everything was done correctly you will now be able to execute the wallet. Also if for some reason you keep getting a missing library error please link boost to your system with the following command: brew link boost --force

Cheers
I have only wallet on my MacBook, what i must do? I don't know what is terminal(( Can you make step by step? Help, please!

Hello,

Sure thing.

Go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal

In terminal write: /usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

When it is finished write: brew install boost --c++11

When finished try to run your wallet, it should work now.

In case it doesn't please write this instruction in the terminal: brew link boost --force

Cheers
Thank you! Writes that you need a password. What is it?
Yes, a stupid question, I already understand password))

It's your macOS password.
Thanks! And how much time there should be an installation after the command: brew install boost --c++11 ?
The last thing that is now indicated is:
./b2 --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/boost/1.65.1 --libdir=/usr/local/Cellar/boos

Hello,

Please wait until it finishes, it can take a couple of minutes.

Cheers
Is it the same, so it should be? Already 17 minutes ((

Hey, did you had another message after this one: ./b2 --prefix=/usr/local/Cellar/boost/1.65.1 --libdir=/usr/local/Cellar/boos
Yes, and not one. It is necessary to wait, my process took almost 28 minutes)

Does anyone know how to stop MN for a restart?

Took me 13 minutes

Mac OS wallet fixed.

https://github.com/lazyboozer/Desire/releases/download/Desire-v.0.12.2.1/desire-0.12.2.1-osx.dmg

If errors occur, then install boost libraries (brew install boost --c++11)

Ok Thanks.
Looks like everything is working fine now. The wallet is synching at the moment.

Nice graphics in the wallet background BTW.

Cheers

The airdrop wallet has 5,243,485.92 BTX.
It was 5,195,...BTX last week.

Anyone know why it went up instead of going down?

Desire Core 0.12.2.1 for Linux and Mac OS available for download.

https://github.com/lazyboozer/Desire/releases/tag/Desire-v.0.12.2.1

Hey, your MacOS wallet doesn't work!!!
Impossible to open the wallet. The error message has something related to the fact that your wallet is not compatible with latest macOS version.

Please fix this ASAP, my DSR are sitting on the exchange for several days and I want to put them in a wallet!

Dev team please reply with status.
