So you transfer USD to btc-e, buy BTC, do the arb trades and end up with USD at LakeBTC. But there is no good (cheap) way to get the USD back to btc-e or your pocket? Or maybe you see other opportunities, than I cannot see...
I'm thinking that much of what people do here is not accurately described as arbitrage. Rather, people are buying BTC when it is low on one exchange to sell while it is high on another. Then rinse/repeat when the spreads return to the mean.

Very interesting. I take a look at swaps from time to time but I don't take them too seriously. For one thing, how do you account for, say, the increased volume and liquidity on Bitfinex now vs. last year?

The trouble is the higher degree count. Is it possible this impulse is not a C wave but rather a I or A wave in a new move up? It looks to me like the 1370-ish lows may have terminated an ABC already.

Its simple, if you see opportunity, you buy altcoin on one exchange at lower price and sell on other exchange at higher price.
But is really hard to catch profitable arbitrage opportunity, because exchange fees
Calculating the fees is not such a big problem. Problem is the time, that the btc transfer takes. So you'd need many coins on many exchanges to catch all the opportunities. Bingo. Usually, the arbitrage opportunities are such small margin that the time-risk aspect is too great. It can be done, if you manage risk effectively, but if you can do that, you're probably just better off trading IMO.

Hero soon
Took a glance at the thread. If activity = 305+ at that post count, I'm guess it is 308. Which means that to get to Hero Member, you've got another 26 weeks to go. "Soon" is perhaps the wrong word here. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I know you can deposit BTC -- can you also withdraw it? At first, I simply assumed you couldn't, since this is typical. But if I could deposit/withdraw seamlessly with BTC and not bother with fiat transactions -- that sounds like a dream! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

But wont the exchanges, stop this?
Why would they? Bitcoin exchanges are barely regulated, and it would take regulators quite a lot of time to built any sort of enforcement effort in relation to an exchange. So at the end of the day, no, exchanges won't do anything to stop would-be "manipulators".

I saw Hero/Senior accounts going real cheap lately. Maybe that will continue. But Da Dice and 7BitCasino have new high-paying campaigns for Hero Members, so sellers may start upping their prices. Just my two cents on the current state of the market. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Not sure what to think here. Off the lows, there actually looks like there is some strength to this rally. But we are also approaching the 232-238 high resistance zone. I'm not confident in any rally until we are firmly closing candles above 238.

You need incredible amounts of liquidity to move the market. Usually this would be a huge mistake, as moving against the market will surely fail. Remember the 30k bear whale on Stamp? He tried to hold the market down and failed miserably. Smart whales move with the market, not against it.

This is true, although there are some rumors as to the nature of CloudThink and whether or not it can sustain. Many think it will go the way of other cloud mining schemes -- i.e. exit scam. There are more reputable signature campaigns to join, so do your due diligence, IMO.

I've been churning out some free bitcoins by signing up some referrals on 1broker. Nothing huge, but it's nice seeing some bitcents roll in when the markets get moving. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Hopefully this keeps up.

Just this morning, on nitrogen
Is that Starcraft 2 that you are betting on? I had no idea there was even a betting market for this. How predictable is the action? I'm always looking for something new to bet on. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I tripled up some freebies on 777 the other day and withdrew the profits. I had forgotten I had funds left in there. Too bad it was only a few mBits. Still fun to come out ahead. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Is trading forex much like trading bitcoin? The swings and such? I've never traded another market before, but I'm getting pretty bored of this sideways action. Seems 1broker is the broker of choice?
in forex from what i've heard, the swing cycle follows a certain path, so it is easy to predict it and to make profit, usually they buy in bulk and wait for the big crush and repeat, basically shorting everytime the difference is that there are plenty of market(akin to altcoin but less unpredictable, altcoin are a bit too random), so if one is stuck there you move on another, with bitcoin you have one option only... I wouldn't say it's "easy to predict it and to make profit" -- otherwise we'd all be rich, hehe. For some, it is easy, but most retail traders will not be successful in the long run. After all, trading is a zero sum game, and there are much more sophisticated players in the forex markets.

nice scam okcoin has ruined btc
What are you talking about? Well, not for nothin, I heard a few people on the TradingView chat call it OKGox. I guess there is some speculation about their solvency after the stuff that came out after the Ver dispute.

nice scam okcoin has ruined btc
what happened with OKcoin? [aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa]I saw some mention of them running bots on the exchange, and there was that time when most of their top executives jumped ship. But I haven't seen much concrete evidence of anything yet.

While I think price may go lower, and I am planning for that contingency, I'm not going to do anything because farting_shot said so. That's for damn sure. ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)
