241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders - Learn from my mistakes on: March 12, 2021, 05:07:45 AM
Every human being has to face many crises at the beginning of the business but gradually they move forward by gaining good experience about the market. No one can do business without mistakes losses must be faced and corrected not everyone is wrong in the same place business mistakes vary from person to person if you have good skills about trading techniques and its charts before trading you are less likely to make mistakes.
You can learn from mistakes but if you are too smart then you will learn from others mistakes which means you are not going to lose your money and time but experience is indeed so starting with small capital for trading is wise choice and lot of simulation available to work your trading strategies and find its effectiveness.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When did you learn about crypto, and how fast did you get comfortable with it? on: March 11, 2021, 04:00:16 PM
Learning how a cryptocurrency works is not complicated, pretty much anyone with basic computer knowledge may get it if they see the tutorials about it but we can never get comfortable with the prices of cryptocurrencies. In 2013 bitcoin was worth few dollars buy in 2021 its is nearing 60K per coin which is unexpected for sure even by the creator itself.
243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The knowledge we seek on: March 11, 2021, 02:53:02 PM
Better concentrate on the sections rather than posters because you may not gather knowledge by simply following few users. It is important to learn about the things you are trying to get better at. Let's take technical discussion where you get all the threads related to technical knowledge and difficulties so following threads in those section will give a better idea about for your future contribution to the forum.
244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has anyone used Paxful before? on: March 11, 2021, 11:24:09 AM
Not much of a difference between paxful and LBC, both require KYC for higher tier and both are having potential risk of trading with hacked accounts. If you are okay with the paxful's KYC requirement then you can start trading there but you need to be careful while choosing your trading partner, and avoid newly created accounts and accounts with less number of trades and inactive accounts came back to active after a while.
245  Economy / Economics / Re: Central banks around the world want to get into digital currencies on: March 11, 2021, 07:56:03 AM
China is developing their digital Yuan for very long time and many other countries already created their CBDC and India also maybe trying to do the same when they mention that they are nit encouraging private currencies. But its not an actual cryptocurrency and its not much different from the digital fiat money then why these governments are trying to create new to hide their old fault system is doing the worse.
246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 11, 2021, 07:06:55 AM
^^ I hope they don't. Empty stands looks bad but there should be no spectators in any hot zones, especially Mumbai.

Mumbai getting fair amount of IPL games this season despite their covid problem, only shows that how powerful Mumbai Cricket Association is IRL. On the other hand we have state board like Hyderabad, who like to mess things up and then cry.

Maybe due to the influence from the Mumbai Cricket Association, or maybe due to the influence of Nita Ambani who own Mumbai Indians. Ideally I would have liked the IPL restricted to just one city. What is the point in conducting the tournaments across so many cities, when the crowd is not allowed? Why can't they stage all the matches in juts one city, may be Bengaluru, Chennai or even Lucknow, where the number of cases are low? These cities do have multiple stadiums, so it should not be an issue.
Ditto!

There is no gate money (in case of empty stands), no additional benefits and no home advantage for any franchise. In case they were to stage all games in one state then it could have been Gujrat without any doubt, only because of new Motera stadium (Modi Stadium). It can even hold double header on weekend easily and i think they do have fair amount of good stadiums as well.

BCCI governing body needs to reconsider their decision but, there is so much politics involved in Indian cricket that the board members might be helpless. I think they want to show the world that they are capable to conduct the tournament all around India in this pandemic situation. Another reason might be the vaccine, but there are news report which confirms people are still getting COVID19 after completing the vaccination.
So the new strain is capable of making the people inflected? Its more dangerous than I thought. But government is not imposing any lockdown like what we had in the initia stage of spread which means the cases are going to rise continuously. I do agree with that empty stadium because atleast everyone can watch the IPL on AIR instead of completely missing out.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 10, 2021, 05:17:15 PM
As compared to Maharashtra other states are not reporting so many cases. Out of the 17k cases reported yesterday Maharashtra has contributed more than 50 percent. Yet, BCCI wants to organise in Mumbai because of Ambani's influence. Bio bubble only works when the rules are followed if they are not then PSL like situation can arise.

Yesterday there were a total of 17,596 new cases and 102 new deaths being reported. Out of this, Maharashtra accounted for 9,866 new cases (56%) and 45 new deaths (44%). At this point, it will be foolish to schedule any matches in that state. I am not sure whether Ambani had any influence in this decision or not, but BCCI must have taken the other franchises in to account as well. More then the absolute number, I am more worried about some of the new strains of the virus, that have been discovered in Maharashtra.
If cases are increasing like this then BCCI may change the venue for sure because they are more towards conducting the IPL even in the middle of pandemic last year so they may not hold back from anything. Anyone knows about the spectators are allowed for this season or not?
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Cardano (ADA) surrounded by vagueness? What are the actual features? on: March 10, 2021, 03:43:08 PM
Its simply just another cryptocurrency and nothing more, even though it was profitable for the holders due to the bull run there is no great future for such coins. You may follow their official site for the future updates and if they are not following what they have been told then its risky for the holders.
249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to decide about fees? is it necessary ? on: March 10, 2021, 01:14:32 PM
that's why I recommended electrum Mempool if that user is not good at analyzing the mempool by himself.
Sometimes it gives you the wrong estimation too. As others have said, using multiple sources to determine the best fee for you is probably the best idea. I usually use mempool.space (link above) to find out the lowest fee on the latest block and check out Electrum mempool estimation, and then decide the fees. It takes some time to learn but helps a lot in the long run.
AFAIK, Electrum never game me overkilling fees but I do cross check the values with Mempool.space or other mempool recommendation websites. But I used to keep checking the mempool overtime when I wanted to make transaction because it often coming down to 20sats 30 sats in this week for very minimal time period.

1) BTC - the only future - digital gold. that's it
2)a) what is the real usecase? If I wan't to send money, I need price stability -> I will use tether (don't kill me..).

   b) It's open source -> anybody can clone it to new coin name and use it so no sense for bigger ecosystem to adapt to cardano.

   c) governments will NEVER approve 3rd party coin for paying (any coin) -> they will create their own coin

   d) seems like alt coins development guys just taking time and money from it - why it takes so long to develop? l

3) many ICO state that they collected millions USD pre-sale (or how it is called) -> is there any way to check, if the money was really collected?

thanx...

1.BTC is not a digital gold nor for investments, it was supposed to be used as a currency without any middlemen.

2. a) Just eliminate the third party in the transaction, if you believe that tether can be used over BTC then you don't understand the importance of decentralization

b) BTC too have lot of clone and forked coins which doesn't mean it can run on its blockchain, they dev needs separate blockchain so its completely different and one who can differentiate can use the cryptos efficiently.

c) Decentralization doesn't need approval from anyone.

d) Fiat system also took lot of time and evolution before the system we currently we have.

3) Just check their smart contract address and find the claimed value is actually received or not because everything is transparent in blockchain technology.

IPL 2021 schedule has been released people. Am already excited for it. Odd thing is that there are no matches in Hyderabad due to Hyderabad Cricket Association issues.

https://mobile.twitter.com/IPL/status/1368535256014356488

I have no idea why MI are up against RCB in the opening match when it's supposed to be MI vs DC since they played against each other in the finals last year.
Another interesting fact about this IPL edition is there is no home ground for any teams, they are playing away all the matches due to the limited availability of pandemic free cities. How fans are going to react for this? Especially MI and CSK fans because those teams have more fan base than anyone else?
252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to decide about fees? is it necessary ? on: March 09, 2021, 05:51:46 PM
If you are using coinbase or blockchain.com as your wallet then you no need to select the required amount of fee, which is determined by the wallet provider itself

people shouldn't be using these two services as their wallets ever. both are bad for different reasons. but when it comes to fees it is still determined by the network not by them. but they both charge more, coinbase as a payment for the service they offer and blockchain.com because they used to be (and still are) very terrible at writing a code that can analyze mempool and suggest a good fee so they overcharge.
and both overcharge because they don't want the transaction their users make be stuck so that maybe the user starts thinking about moving away!
Yes I know these should not be used as wallet, even I am having bitter experience with coinbase's vault service.

And coinbase doesn't give option to choose the fee by the user itself that is what I meant to say but their overestimation save people some time but end up paying more fee most of the time, that's why I recommended electrum Mempool if that user is not good at analyzing the mempool by himself.

Hello, can anybody help with Fees and how to determine how much it should be ? is it associated with amount of bitcoin?

some says fee is not required when paying with bitcoin ! and some wallets require you to choose fees !  is it necessary ?

How are fees technically calculated ?
If you are using coinbase or blockchain.com as your wallet then you no need to select the required amount of fee, which is determined by the wallet provider itself but if you are using other wallet like electrum then yu have to select the fee depends on how long you can wait for your transaction to be confirmed.

Even if you are using any other wallets having electrum may give clear idea of how much fee you need to pay with the mempool option s create a dummy wallet and tap the ETA to Mempool on the fee slider and input the fee shown there on your wallet.

Jadeja is important for sure because he is better fielder and can be considered as best in the world right now and also he can bowl along with his handy knocks and Sundar should be the second option if they want to go with the 2 spinners because he is looking more like a regular batsman with the way he is batting and his first class batting also impressive. As you mentioned Ashwin is having difficulties on batting apart from subcontinent conditions so he is likely to be dropped but wait we have IPL in the middle so selectors will pick depending on the IPl performances as well even it is not supposed to be like that.

I am more concerned about the openers because new batsman failed to make any impressive performances in AUS and in India too so Shikar Dhawan has nay chances to be back into an opener?

Jadeja will be the first choice for me. But for me, the second choice would be Axar Patel instead of Washington Sundar. Washington is a good batsman, but in terms of bowling Axar is far ahead of him. But at the same time, I am not sure whether Axar or Washington is the better bowler in SENA conditions. Ashwin can bat, but his poor record in SENA goes against him. Kuldeep is not that bad in SENA, but his batting record is not that great.
Spin bowlers are not going to be effective on such conditions that is why it is better to have better batsmen who can bowl. Ishant Sharma is important due to his experience and he is a wicket-taking bowler.
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 09, 2021, 08:41:55 AM
^^^ Sundar and Shardul, along with Ashwin have added crucial runs for India recently and I hope they will perform well during the WTC finals. But I don't know whether all of them will find slots in the final playing XI. If the pitch is not conductive towards spin bowling, then India may go with just one, or a maximum of two spinners. That means that out of Ashwin, Axar, Washington and Kuldeep, only one or two may get selected. Bumrah/Shami/Ishant may be preferred for the final match, and that will leave Shardul and Umesh out of the squad.
Hard to decide if India should go with 2 spin allrounder or just 1, Ashwin is sure tho. Jadeja is also important and Washington might be in contest due to his batting skill. Kuldeep and Axar won't get any chance. If Hardik is fit to bowl then he's playing 100% otherwise Shardul Thakur seems good fit, he's fast bowling all rounder and heard that he made some runs in recent vijay hazare trophy too. As long as India batting deep, they should be fine.

256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Tax Question on: March 09, 2021, 06:51:35 AM
The only way to reduce the capital gain tax is by holding your crypto assets more than a year, by that you can reduce great amount of tax rate. But if you are smart, you just cash out the capital money and keep holding the gains so you no need to pay any taxes unless you cash it out completely.

IIRC, you also can claim deduction in the tax of your capital gains from your capital loss of previous year if you made any and I guess it is upto $3000 but surely you need someone who is in that profession to give better knowledge about tax paying.

New Zealand vs India final at Lord's, June 18-June 22.

About WTC final, we have a new update about the venue due to ongoing pandemic. ICC planning to move WTC final out of Lord's

And the new venue is yet to be announced by ICC so we never know what kind of pitch the teams going to play.

Out of lord but still within England or are they planning to move the final out of England ?

I think ICC should think of moving the final to Pakistan  Wink
As of now, they planned to move out from Lord's but it is going to be inside the ENG for sure because ECB conducted series successfully by creating bubble among players even when the pandemic is at its peak in their nation so I don't think the series will be moved out unless entire England locked down completely.

259  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why P2P exchange is good and better on: March 07, 2021, 10:07:53 AM
The reason why I'm now very fond of P2P exchanges is because no one will know where your money is coming from actually, not even your bank, I don't know this until I give it's a try, after a successful trade here is what I got

From P2P platforms

200$ Credit alert from jeremiah johnson

From centralized platforms

200$ Credit alert from Luno exchange LTD

As you can see, you will get credited like a friend of yours sent you the money, no crypto or exchange involvement, no one knows where your money is coming from
Even though these are the positive side of using peer to peer trading platforms, still you need to know that the negative sides as well.

Let's assume you received $200 from Jeremiah Johnson, but you never know that you actually received from the real Jeremiah or someone accessed without the owner's permission and used to buy btc but when actual Jeremiah came and find out that you received funds so what will happen now?

You will be the one who is going to legal issues and huge penalty and long term jail. Grin
260  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bank withholding funds? on: March 06, 2021, 03:23:29 PM
Bitcoin is the online transaction and it's digital currency exchange system ,The Reserve Bank of India had asked them to stop providing services to firms and individuals who deal in bitcoins and other such virtual money. And exchanges got no relief from the Supreme Court.
You have not updated bro, India's SC overruled the restriction imposed by Reserve Bank of India so now people can trade and exchanges are currently working but in the future India may pass a law which can completely ban the cryptos or simply regulate the cryptos and impose high taxes but there is no sign of doing this yet.
