242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: March 06, 2023, 02:38:34 AM
I mean without even looking why would anything called "Bonk" be something that's needed anyway.  The amount of tokens and coins that keep getting developed with little to no value and gets pumped is beyond amazing.

We should not judge by name only but by the features the coin has. Most of these coins do not solve any real problem. They exist just in order to make the developer or person behind the coin rich. Most of the people see good price rise in these coins and they start running towards the coins. The price rise is also bought using fake manipulation.

The amount of greed in crypto is hilarious.  Seems like it will never end until everyone one by one loses theor money to all of these scams.

This greed is everywhere where money and power is involved. And whenever, we have so much greed, there is always room for corruption and scams. However, the people who want crypto to prosper should always bring it in open if they find something misleading in crypto world to save others.

244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 04:18:35 AM
One of the expenses that most people will ignore in this is legal expenses. You need a good legal team to start an online casino and even to run it. Like for starting the casino, you will have to check the laws related to online casinos in your country. In some country, it might not be allowed and then you will have to fight legal battle to get is allowed by court. In my country, a leading site which deals in sports betting got this done through court and today they are the leading payer in this niche as they were the first to start and execute these type of betting games.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 05, 2023, 04:14:49 AM
Even in countries where bitcoin is banned, people are still using crypto because of the benefits. It is very hard to regulate crypto in general even for the government. One example of this is in China where people are still using Bitcoin to pay for different types of services.

However, I am in full support of all governments throuhoght the world making crypto legal. In fact, bitcoin should be made a legal tender so that it can be used like currency. Then we will see it being adopted even by small stores as a means of payment.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 01, 2023, 04:34:08 PM
You should better find own sources of income so that you do not have to sell your wife jewelry. In some countries, people consider jewelry as means of survival in bad times. Also, if you sell the jewelry , what will your wife wear in parties. She will feel left out among friends because of this. The invested amount is expected to give you good returns but there is no certainty about the amount of time required. If you develop new sources of income, you will have additional savings at the end of the month which you can invest in crypto and enjoy profits.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 01, 2023, 04:26:24 PM
Many people will read this thread and move towards gambling. I am not saying that is a bad thing but one thing that differentiates OP from others is that he applied the knowledge and experience he has and placed the bet on only those games he has full information about. On the contrary, majority of people just leave to chance and think that if OP can get lucky , they will also get lucky.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the IMF Qualms With Regulating/ Banning Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2023, 06:59:26 AM
There are different people with different opinion regarding bitcoin  and crypto. Some people are in support of it because it is backed by blockchain technology. On the other hand, some people are against it with the logic that it can be used for illegal activities. I personally feel that these people who are against crypto have not themselves even tried crypto. They have formed an opinion against bitcoin just based on past bad experiences with other investment options. Thus, as crypto users, we should ask others to start using crypto even in small quantity. Once they have used it, they will also understand the benefits of crypto.

Fortunately, this member will never join a signature campaign; thus, his posts are only limited to the altcoin bounty section and at least are not spamming throughout the entire forum.

Even the altcoin bounty section should also have similar requirements like the signature campaigns paying in BTC. If we moderate spam in one section and let it continue in other sections of the forum, it is a not a good sign for the forum. However, I feel, that such measures will eventually be introduced by moderators and campaign mangers in alt coin section also in very nearby future. We already have the input in terms of efficacy of the merit system in handling bitcoin signature campaigns effectively so as to keep the spammers out.
250  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Casino Website Development? on: February 26, 2023, 12:40:41 PM
Hey, guys. I didn't know where to start a topic, and I saw there was discussion already here. So my friends and I decided to start a crypto casino that has only dice. I don't know what technology to use. The website will have register/log in/log out, bet history and dice betting. I am currently looking at HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL. Will this be enough or there are other languages? I looked at Nodejs but find it difficult.

How much familiar are you with these technologies ? If you have basic knowledge, do not attempt to design the casino website by own. Instead, hire some professional who has done it for other casino websites in past. This will ensure that your website will have less number of bugs because bugs affect user experience and can annoy initial users to move away from your casino. You should also do beta testing after launch to remove further issues on the site. Also, have a bug bounty program live for security researchers to report any security issue on your website. This will ensure that the data and money is safe on the wallets on the casino website.
251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 years ago Theymos sold 160btc at $0.003 per 1, lowest price ever recorded on: February 25, 2023, 06:01:00 AM
If the buyer is holding the bitcoins till day, he must have retired.

At that time bitcoin was in early stage so I do not think he did any mistake by selling at that price. In fact, by doing such transactions, he encouraged other bitcoin users also to use bitcoin for transactions giving it an use case. After so many years, it has evolved and now we see millions of people transacting using bitcoin. This will only grow from here onwards. So, that first transaction was a good initiative that fueled the further growth and adoption of bitcoin.

252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Achievement through the help of bitcoin on: February 18, 2023, 06:36:13 AM
It is good that you have kept your mind open. Currently , I do not think you should live on crypto investing alone. There are months and years of bear market and thus it will not give stable income. I am not against crypto but it is not an alternative to job. It is a good tool to diversify your investments though. Now there are people who invested in bitcoin in beginning and and have retired now with the money. But those days are not going to come now. It is hard for everyone to show that amount of patience. We should keep both positive and negative side of crypto in mind as an investor.

So, they are looking to make some collective decision with other countries for regulation related to crypto. It is a welcome step in my opinion as it will open the doors of crypto to people i countries where government is not much in favor of crypto at present. In current time of globalization, it is not possible for one country to effectively implement these regulations and thus this decision for collective effort might work better according to me.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency industry challenges and impact on Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2023, 01:49:20 PM
What are the current challenges faced by the cryptocurrency industry, and how are they affecting the growth and adoption of Bitcoin?

You are asking question related to Bitcoin and have posted this in altcoin section by mistake. So , please move this thread to correct section.

Here are some challenges being faced by the cryptocurrency industry which are affecting the growth and adoption of Bitcoin

1) Scams : A lot of people are doing scams related to bitcoin and crypto which has reduced the trust of people in crypto. Some people are still scared to use crypto because of fear of these scams.

2) Price fluctuations: Imagine investing in bitcoin when prices where $60000 and it reducing to 1/3rd in just few months. That can also affect the trust and faith of common people in bitcoin. This will however get solved in future with mass adoption. There will be less fluctuations when there are more users.
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum cofounder :Vitalik Buterin donates 99 ether to Ahbap Earthquake Support on: February 11, 2023, 01:44:36 PM

https://www.theblock.co/post/210804/ethereum-cofounder-vitalik-buterin-donates-99-ether-to-ahbap-earthquake-support

He has donated Ethereum worth $150000 to help people in Turkey and Syria because of recent earthquake. This is not the first time he had done this. He did a similar work in the past where he made big donation using crypto in India.

When we talk about crypto and alt coins, so may people associate scams and bad people related to it. But this is an example that there are good people associated with crypto and crypto can be used for good work also in the society. Have you ever made any charity in crypto or plan to do so in future ?

258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Fake paid promotions on Twitter on: February 05, 2023, 05:42:24 AM
Here is one example of kind of string operation done

https://twitter.com/coffeebreak_YT/status/1621581040539033603?t=Vy7hWZYrxK4mob8EeFMeHw&s=19

It amplifies the need for investors to do their complete research before investing in newly launched projects. Even the person you had been admiring or following on social media platforms can be just promoting a scam. So apply some common sense next time instead of blindly following the expert financial advice of these gurus. Another platform, where this abuse frequently happens is YouTube where creators promote number of fake projects.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / FBI says scams involving Tether are on rise in Denver on: February 05, 2023, 05:38:38 AM

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/news/fbi-says-cryptocurrency-scams-involving-tether-and-usd-coin-on-the-rise-in-denver/ar-AA175wgQ

My take on this is that scams related to alt coins are on rise all over the world. There is need to take concrete steps to fight against this like

1) Strict punishment for scammers who are caught doing fraud with crypto. This has not happened in past. In fact, in some cases, major scammers were let free because of connections or other reasons. There should be such strict punishments that no one can dare to think of scam in future because of fear.

2) Government should take steps to increase awareness related to crypto in general masses. They should hire experts to give detailed talks and  recommend measures to general public to remain safe.
