241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 14, 2018, 06:44:50 PM
I just saw a msi 1080ti go for $1220 on ebay.

Briefly thought about buying 4 titan xp and holding onto them for a while to see where this debacle goes.

Just can't bring myself to spend over 4500$ on some gpus. Too risky. For all we know next week stock will be there to satisfy demand or the crypto market will dive.

Just because someone is crazy enough to spend $1220 on a 1080ti doesn't necessarily mean they'd spend $1600+ on a titan xp even if that was literally all you could get.

X17 is up again and I've been mining XVG a few hours.

Total Unpaid seems to be growing but not Balance.  Perhaps consequently payouts aren't being made.

Am I wasting my time?

How is Verge now as I have some sitting my wallet for most of the day. I am worried about pointing my miners back to it?  Is the x17 pool healthy and paying properly?
There is a tweet up stating to switch over to another currency if you are being paid in XVG.  Since I want to get paid in XVG I am on my backup pool right now.  Hopefully they get this fixed up in a few days so I can move back over to zpool.

We'll shoot. Stuck at the office can't do anything about it until lunch. Oh well cookie crumbled that way this morning lol

Is x17 still jacked up?  It went online this AM so I moved my miner back over to it. Now it looks to be down again.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Are 1070 TI's the next best GPU for mining? 4.7 sols per watt on: January 11, 2018, 02:14:24 PM
Good luck buying anything right now.  You are SOL unless you have a jar of lube handy and an ebay account.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 11, 2018, 02:05:50 PM
And everything out of stock for the last week or so.  No 1080, 1070, or even 1060 really.  Is it really miners that are cornering the market on these devices?

Makes me glad I bought the two GPU I have when you could find them.  Now it's impossible without an ebay price gouge.

If you're trying to build a gaming computer right now this sucks.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ x17 XVG ] 1080TI Core clock and PL oscillating on: January 11, 2018, 01:23:49 PM
I think its normal behavior.  Mine do it too.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you report mining income with Suprnova? on: January 10, 2018, 05:43:34 PM
Yes it is we todd ed.  To the max.

If your mining all day and getting dozens of payouts you literally need to record every last one and the market value for each at time of payout. This is what they want.

They are dumb.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How do you report mining income with Suprnova? on: January 10, 2018, 04:47:29 AM
I keep track of how many coins I make over a two week period.  Multiply that number by the highest value the coin reached over that two weeks. Then claim that number as my income for the two week period.

It is lazy and it costs me extra in taxes. It is simpler and easier to track.

The whole tax situation is ridiculous making us claim each block reward as income. Nothing we can do about it sadly.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 09, 2018, 09:07:54 PM
Using Alexis non palgin I get 19.2 mh/s. 100% tdp +75 core -400 memory. That hash is reported by the client.

Ccminer 2.2.4 was significantly slower and also didn't like my overclock.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 09, 2018, 03:32:29 AM
Almost everyone on yiimp x17 uses ccminer 2.2.4. On zpool it's ccminer Alexis.  You can see this by looking at the bench tab. Seems odd the two use different clients.

I am trying 2.2.4 tonight. It runs the GPU cooler than ccminer Alexis and pulls less power. Hash rate reported by the client is lower.

I'll let it run 24 hr and if it really does run slower I'll go back to ccminer Alexis.
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Yiimp invalid job id rejects on: January 08, 2018, 04:38:36 AM
I'm getting a lot of invalid job ID rejects on yiimp. This doesn't happen on zpool.  Same client and settings. Ccminer Alexis x17 algo.

What could cause this?  The stratum is full on yiimp could that be the issue?

Where are you guys mining this?  I look at the pools in the OP and most of them are ghost towns.
255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL] YAAMP.COM multipool multialgo profit switch with exchange on: January 07, 2018, 02:38:13 PM
I'm getting a lot of invalid job ID rejects on the x17 pool.

Is this because of the stratum being full?

We'll x17 pool was working again for a while then dropped me about 15 minutes ago. I give up for now switched over to yiimp for the evening. Will try zpool again tomorrow morning.
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 06, 2018, 05:15:11 PM
Gentlemen/Ladies

Currently running ccminer-alexis 1.0

Is this still one of if not the best option for x17 and CUDA?  Has worked well for me but as you all know efficiency is king.
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 06, 2018, 04:04:38 AM
Thats where silicon lottery kicks in as some of the cards are already maxed out at factory settings like aorus extreme  while others are can be oc without problem. Also different algos different power draw and oc
Yah while I like how cool and quiet the aorus extreme runs I've noticed is about maxed out of the box.  I can barely overclock it at all before it becomes unstable.  My evga sc2 on the other hand while not clocked as high out of the box is able to run higher clocks after adjustment vs. the aorus.

Both are IMO good cards.  Heat and clocks you can get are heavily dependent on algorithm.  I typically don't like to run them over about 65c for long periods of time.  Probably don't need to worry about it I just like to be on the safe side.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: January 04, 2018, 02:09:40 PM
Apologies in advance since I imagine this has been covered before.  Basic simple question.

What temp range is safe to run the 1080ti at long term without seriously degrading the longevity of the GPU?

Got my e-bill today and it wasn't as bad as expected.  So am going to push TDP up and get more hash - while also getting more heat.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Speculative Coins to mine with GPU Rigs for 2018 on: January 04, 2018, 03:41:30 AM
I see you can mine XSH with x17 which should work well on nvidia hardware.

One thing about XSH and other less known and newer options like it.  Bigger exchanges like bittrex and cryptopia don't trade it.  You can't park anything in a wallet up there or mine directly to the exchange.  And some of the bigger pools like mph for instance don't host it.

Takes some extra effort.  Might be worth it though who knows.
