When I call balances to counterpartyd, it gives me the output in a visually appealing table, but a form that is a little difficult to parse. Is there another way to get balances? (Or better still, something like list transactions that wouldn't necessitate checking every balance individually?)
Can you use the API, or do you need something like a CSV table for shell scripting? I'm looking into the API now. It would just be easier if I could do everything from the command line, because nothing is set up to make API calls.

Thanks, PhantomPhreak. One more thing. Bitcoind can generate an arbitrary number of addresses for one wallet. Is XCP aware of this, or is every BTC address a separate XCP wallet?

I'm the owner of Poloniex, and I'm trying to figure out how to get XCP on the exchange. I have some questions, as I'm not completely sure how it works yet...
1. Someone sent me 2 XCP for testing. I also got about 0.0001 BTC. I'm guessing this is because XCP is sent over BTC transactions, and you have to send at least a little BTC in order to send XCP. Correct? 2. I tried to send XCP to another address, but it tells me I need 0.0003 BTC. Why this amount? Where does it go? Is the amount adjustable? 3. I can see this being a bit of a problem, keeping track of both BTC and XCP. What if someone sends a deposit of 1000 XCP and then withdraws 1 XCP 1000 times? Would this not drain the BTC balance?

add maxcoin!
Why do people keep asking for this? https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_maxAddress generation is running a bit slow now. It will take less than a minute once the new server arrives.

Is any progress being made to fix this 0 confirmation issue? I might have to suspend it from Poloniex if it keeps up, it's accounting for the majority of support emails.
Let's wait few more days and let's see. I think that these new transactions have no problems with confirmations...correct me if i'm wrong thought. Just got another that's getting 0. Not sure if sending using the newest wallet fixes this.

The display of the order book froze overnight. The actual order book and exchange continued to function.
Time for another technical explanation. Until now, there were two ways the order book and trade history were fetched. When you first load the page or refresh it, they were fetched from a text file on the server that was updated every second by a server-side daemon. Every sixty seconds, or right after you place an order, the info is fetched in a different way--directly from the database.
The first method was put in place to reduce database queries. But it has proven to have a critical flaw--if that daemon goes offline, people can see out-of-date info, and that can cause people to make the wrong trades. In light of this, I have just switched all order book and trade history fetching to the second method--it is always fetched directly from the database. This means that it can no longer be out-of-date when you refresh the page--if it's there, it's up-to-date.
The candlestick chart is still fetched in the old way, because it takes a lot more processing power to construct. Perhaps in the future the construction of the chart can be moved to the client side.

awesome! the exchange works pretty good There server cant handle much traffic. Waiting on a confirmation email to be able to login... Going on 20 minutes and still no email (not even in spam folder). The server is running well--it's been keeping up with the traffic nicely. Still not sure what causes the occasional email delay--emails are always sent out immediately. May have to switch SMTP providers.

MtheK, the ticker for all markets at Poloniex can be fetched in JSON format from poloniex.com/ticker.
Looks like a nice app!
Thanks for that! But NXT Watcher focuses on drawing charts of the price history, do you provide an API for that? It's coming--it will be the next thing to be implemented.

You should only get Infinity if you don't enter a price.

So is it safe to deposit now or should we wait until the new wallet server is up and running?
It's perfectly safe. porcupine87--it has been suggested that the markets be re-sortable on the client side, alphabetically, by volume, or whatever else. Making them alphabetical would be a good start, though. About the volume not adding up--oops. I never used that feature on exchanges, so I didn't realize that it adds up the volume, but that makes sense.
