241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Final countdown [10 Days before the halving] on: July 03, 2016, 07:50:39 PM
This is not a good time now for Steam user, because the Steam Summer Sale ends on July 5th but the halvening is not started yet. We want to buy games by spending our Bitcoin, but it's not a good time to spend our Bitcoin now.
What an irony Cry
If i were you, I would just go ahead and spend my btc on the steam sale. Because i dont think the price is going to change too drastically near the halfing. we will prolly see a rise in the price couple of months after the halfing takes place imo.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Final countdown [10 Days before the halving] on: July 03, 2016, 07:44:19 PM
as we get closer to the halfing, the number of blocks with 25btc rewards decrease. so i wonder if miners think " oh, I better mine more btc now because after the halfing i wont get as much of a reward" and this results in more miners now, making the halfing come faster than expected.  Cool
anyways less than 6 days left now, can't wait to see what happens.
243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you allow the Government to look into your bitcoin wallets? on: July 03, 2016, 07:28:49 PM
In the coming days when the government will legalize bitcoin and puts up regulatory rules and policies on the use of bitcoins it is a prerogative of the government to monitor the bitcoin transactions as well as your bitcoin wallet. For how many years bitcoin has been operating outside the hands of the government and many illegal operations especially in the black market is taking place without being traced. This coming events may be helpful to the stability of bitcoins in its operation and security.
a very very easy way to bypass the government forcing to look into your wallet to have multiple wallets, and just show them one that looks all nice and formal, and do your bitcoin stuff on a different secret one.
244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: no faith in bitcoin (ddos) on: July 03, 2016, 05:59:44 PM
Why would I trust a coin that drops in value massively when sites selling it are getting DDoSed?

this means it has no credibility at all, people can choke it with DDoS and then short it over and over again

too bad, it was a good coin
But it doesnt drop in price when sites are being ddosed. the exchanges being attacked only results in a slightly lower amount of bitcoin being exchanged. Huh
I dont see how it affects the bitcoin price in a negative way.
245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best long term cold storage? on: July 03, 2016, 05:57:45 PM
Steel wallets are the best IMO. It's like a paper wallet. Create it offline then store it in steel. It's fireproof, it won't fade and best of all if your house does burn down just grab your metal detector and voila, you have your millions in bitcoins to self insure.
Thats actually a really cool idea, how and where do you get these steel wallets. I assume its a sheet of steel with your keys engraved on it?
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best long term cold storage? on: July 03, 2016, 05:20:46 PM
you could create a HD account and just memorize the 12 words, but theres always the chance of you forgetting. i recommend getting one of those durable usbs on amazon and store your keys on there, pretty much guranteed to last a lifetime.
247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What prevents one large player from buying up most coins? on: June 30, 2016, 05:19:10 PM
Say an interested party has 10 times Bitcoin's market cap to spend. He buys up the entire order book on the largest exchanges. Once he holds a significant percentage of all bitcoins, he waits for some kind of negative news, then dumps, causing panic sells, which he buys up at the bottom. He repeats this pattern until he owns as many bitcoins as HODLers allow.

How would this affect adoption and confidence in the market? Is there anything that would or could prevent this from happening, aside from the amount of fiat money required?

well then he would spend trillions to destroy a currency, which no one would ever do. if you are that rich, you should be smart if to know that spending that much money to take out a currency is useless.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where can I keep my BTC during the halving? on: June 30, 2016, 05:17:32 PM
I normally leave my BTC in Polo so I can exchange them whenever I want.
During halving I was wondering whether this is advisable, or is better to keep them in cold storage.
What do you think about? Any suggestion?
Thanx to everyone!

it doesnt matter where you put them, your coins arent affected by the halfing, only the block reward is. continue to use your bitcoins as you would.
however i suggest not keeping them in an exchange because thats not that safe.
249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: June 30, 2016, 03:26:06 PM
if you're talking bout bitcoin gambling then i have a solution for you, throw all your bitcoins on a paper wallet, and hide it or give it to someone to hold. then if u dont have access to the coins, you can gamble.  Grin
250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nothing big really happened on: June 30, 2016, 03:15:38 PM
the fact that bitcoins been alive for 5 years is a pretty big deal. bitcoin still being valuable after 5 years shows it has amazing potential. once it gets adopted within everyday merchants we will see the real power of bitcoin.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know when to stop? on: June 30, 2016, 02:40:26 PM
i dont really have a daily limit but i do have a good method of not losing everything when i gamble. whenever i go in with lets say 0.1 btc,i stop and leave when I've lost 0.04 btc. so if i lose ~40% of what i came in with i know its time to leave.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling made for kids???? on: June 30, 2016, 02:23:10 PM
Someone just argued with me that gambling can be done by kid too.. Huh
I believe its the exact opposite, kids dont really care about mony as much as adults. they care about material things. so they probably dont feel that rush of excitement when they double their money, hence they probably dont enjoy gambling as much as adults.  Tongue
253  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean.com Scam or legit plz on: June 30, 2016, 02:21:14 PM
hmm I dont know to be honest, my gut is telling me its fraid and they're gone. but then why would they post on facebook saying the hacker only hacked domain and not the funds, meaning they will eventually be back and be able to return the funds. whats the point of that?
254  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you like to receive your salary in BTC? on: June 30, 2016, 02:17:21 PM
bitcoin completely  cannot be made as salary , because it fluctuates everyday , so better to make 10 or 20 percent as salary and rest 80 percent normal currency as no wants to loose money and if bitcoin price rises that is good and that can be gained via 20 percent what you have allotted Smiley
thats exactly what i think, my salary decides my lifestyle and what i am able to buy and eat. if the bitcoin price crashes right after i get paid, then i would have worked for no reason at all. i would rather get paid all of my salary in fiat, but then be allowed to buy bitcoin as my mind desires.
255  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use multiple Bitcoin Wallets to store your Bitcoins? on: June 30, 2016, 02:13:34 PM
no i am using a sing wallet for storing my bitcoin and that is enough for my bitcoin to store there.it is a reliable and trust-able wallet. i can do fully trust on that coin.
its not about the security of the wallet, its about the anonymity. if you continue to use 1 wallet forever then you arent being anonymous in bitcoin.
I use a HD wallet that always changes my public address, but i also have a paper wallet for storing funds long term.
256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever lost Bitcoin? on: June 30, 2016, 03:46:36 AM
no i myself have never lost any bitcoin other than gambling, but my friend told me he lost around 0.3 btc a year ago because he lost his paper wallet lol.  Smiley
257  Other / Off-topic / Re: How much do you earn per day on: June 29, 2016, 05:31:42 PM
online i earn pretty much nothing everyday, but i do have a job in real life that earns me around $100 usd every day, so thats pretty good i guess. might look into buying some btc before price goes up.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many mining site were closed?Halving is near what happen to the bitcoin? on: June 29, 2016, 02:46:36 PM
who can we trust about mining?do we have any source on how to get bitcoin?
getting rid of these fake cloud mining sites is actually great for bitcoin. when people fall for these ponzis they get angry and leave the bitcoin currency. no ponzi means more people using bitcoins.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2016, 02:44:28 PM
i don't think there's any way of telling. maybe verified accounts on exchanges and places like circle might give you a snapshot but i guess they're not gonna share their figures. i think it's lower than the average estimation.
thats interesting, i checked out the coinbase website and it says they've served over 4m members, that seems a little high for one exchange.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: actual number of people using Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2016, 02:41:27 PM
Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.
I think its hard to know how.many people are using bitcoin cause many bitcoin user are using bitcoin anonymously.  Even my sister is using bitcoin.before and i didnt know it
well to be honest it is impossible to tell how many people are using bitcoins because one person might have a lot of bitcoin addresses and a lot of bitcoin wallets in my opinion

i think that around 5 per cent of the peopel of the world use bitcoins from time to time or hold at least a really small amount of bitcoins, though i might be very wrong about it
5% seems like a pretty high number to be honest. thats around 370 million people. also less people use bitcoin in third world countries than first world. my estimate is that there are probably around 1-2 million active bitcoin users.
