Happy to help but can't find any info on differences in setting up testnet node and real nodes.
itīs all the same, only in darkcoin.conf you have to add testnet=1 and on your server you have to open Port 19999 instead of 9999. Darkcoind and darkcoin-qt is available into the testnet threat of darkcointalk |

It takes an incredible amount of time and energy to accomplish what Evan and all involved are trying to do. Any other coin that claims to have developed an "Anonymous Currency", is so full of crap that it's not even real. Patience. Things are being done and actually worked on. Real innovation takes time. I donīt know why there are not moere nodes. On mainnet we have more that 800. On testnet no more than 20. It takes around 30 minutes to set up one and the cost of VPS is not worth to talk about. Come on and set up one. If you dont know how to do let me know. Iīll set up one for you on testnet. VPS is also no problem. |

I was bored and decided to some math.
The DRK ANN thread took 77 days to reach 644 pages.
DRK/BTC at 644 pages=.0014
The CLOAK ANN thread took 59 days to reach 644 pages.
CLOAK/BTC at 644 pages = .00207
What does tell us this math. The first 1000 DRK pages were nearly only about tech. discussions. This 644 Pages are full of price speculation. You would be much higher if you wouldnīt delete posts in the moderation mode |

Mostly I think we are just buying and selling to each other depending on our joint mood is. Some are longer term, some are taking some profits. I do still fear a big zero sum game building here. There are 600 something wallets with over 100 cloak, 340 or so with over 1000. I know there are wallets on exchanges, but this gives a good idea. I really wish we had wider distribution. You would think that just by being near the top in volume on the big exchanges word would get out. Or is altcoin market in general this small? Is DRK distribution also concentrated? I think what we have seen is the Altcoin market in general is shrinking. The money is leaving and there will probably only be a few coins left by the end of the year. However, Cloak is the best coin out there and deserves to sit beside Bitcoin. I have fulll confidence in Cloak - but my confidence for the other coins is getting worse and worse each week. The days of 8000 BTC volume on Mintpal like with the Blackcoin pump are probably gone for good - unless the big boys decide to make Cloak their weapon of choice. Thats really a good piece of writing. With all the shitcoins created day by day and all only based on promises without a technical background we are only playing around with our coins and no fresh money comes to the market. So the money is left into the market goes to the best organized P&D team and the rest has to pay for these bullshit scams. Only coin left over is BTC. All others seems only to be here to get converted from P&D teams to BTC. With such kind of crypto community behaviour there is no future for any altcoin, maybe no future for cryptocurrency at all. Crypto community is the ugliest community iīve ever joined. As i am no member of any insider team you guys will never ever see one more cent from my side. Good luck with defeating yourself ! You sound like someone who thought that the altcoin markets are a get-rich-quick machine, in which you insert money in one side and receive 10x money from the other. You see a coin like Auroracoin doubling everyday for 2 weeks straight but you missed the boat so you jump into the next coin that doubles overnight and assume your money will grow exponentially for the next week at least. Then you wake up the next day and half your money is gone, because the pumpers are not stupid and realise that they have to be unpredictable for their pumps to keep working. Ive been there and I lost half my money when I started. Untill I realised that money doesnt come for free and that it requires hard work and experience to make money in these markets. Now I am at 5x my initial investment. You have to be able to seperate the pump and dumps from the legitimate rises. Darkcoin was legitimate, since it brought innovation and proved capable of technically executing those ideas. Innovation goes fast in cryptocurrency though and DRK has been surpassed by multiple coins, hence the continuous downtrend its been in for the last months. So what do you do if you missed the DRK train and are sick of getting screwed by pump and dump schemes in coins with names like flappy- and coinye west? You are patient and you wait for the next coin that promises and executes actual innovation. And right when you have found it, you post in that coins thread that you are out of crypto? Are you sure about that? If you missed the real anon train you wait which on the next that makes promises and wait until there are signs of pump. Then jump on the train and hope you get out before the real dump takes place. If you got out before you are happy and made a btc profit. Thats all, and thats why you are here on this train. You missed a train, got the next one and only want to find the best point of time to leave. I have learned that crypto community behaves like that and thatīs why i call crypto community is misbehaving because itīs a dead circle with no fresh money input. Hope you will find the right time to jump out of the wrong train :-) And no, i never want to make a quick profit, i always was long term in crypto, but it makes no sense. So no fresh money from my side. As you can see on the declining market itīs not only me making scam teams no longer more rich. |

After a month, my masternode went listed and inactive (or enven not listed) on the Chaeplin site.
Is there some update to do? Is it normal that since the 27 the masternode became inactive (or not listed on 2 nodes)?

ssh into your server and see if darkcoind is still running. What does darkcoind masternode list | grep <your server IP> report? Check the 1000DRK balance hasn't been touched. I'm an absolute noob in linux and I was helped to set the MN up a month ago. Since then I only look on the Chaeplin site with my Pubkey if the MN was up. Today it's not green anymore. So you say that even if I did not perform some updates recently the MN has no reason to be down since the 27 (last payment)? You have to check if all is good. I had same issue. My masternode was unlited on chaplins side only on two sv and i didn 't got a payment over 5 days in a row. It was listed wizh masternode=1 I had also the same on testnet. The minmum on testnet i had to do to get it working again was into the console with hot wallet to do masternode stop and after a while masternode start. If your wallet is encrypt you have to do following in console - walletpassphrase "yourpassword" 300 ( opens your wallet for 5 minutes ) - masternode stop "yourpassword" - you get reply "masternode sucessfully stopped" - Wait a while, you can check if it dissapears on chaplins side - masternode start "your password" - you get reply " masternode sucessfully started" |

Because we want to be... anonymous. Total annonimity. But if it's so important, why doesn't Litecoin hide IP addresses of people that use Litecoin? @coins, you made some important questions a few pages back about privacy in general. I hope you found all your answers. Could you share this informations on a small summary to put these important things together ?
I didnīt know that my IP is trackable back to my home ( my IP changes every day, who should collect all this shitdata), and i also heard that my email could tell somebody directly whereīs my home or my company adress ? So for example a computer crack could track back to my company if my adress is for example average.joe@mycompany.comThats very strange.  |

Without reading back the last 100 pages can anybody sum up why the price is dropping so much?
People are inpatient becauee there is no RC4 announcement ( concrete day ) and working on testnet could take another two weeks. But things on testnet doing very well. Day by day new updates are out and if you join the testnet you can clearly see the progress with denomination and darksend+ |

Even though im a big darkcoin holder and a huge supporter im so dissapointed from dev's for not announcing any news!!! if the situation continues like that for the next 10 days and price keeps going down....im going to dump my bag of 20k dark and crash the market like there is not tommorow!!!

Also the decision to take 20% from the miners as an incentive to operate a masternode was just plain wrong. You now have a network where the wealthiest are literally taking money out of the pockets of the little guy. And why are they getting 20% right now? They're not doing anything except holding 1000 DRK. Pay them when they start to actually perform the function they're intended to. Add to that that the amount of actual masternode owners is a very small percentage of people invested in Darkcoin and you start to get a coin and network that resembles the network of the big banks. Darkcoin may not be centralized but it is definitely not decentralized. I think the methodology used to achieve anonymity is flawed and can't be fixed. Darkcoin has taken the wrong approach to achieve something and it's in too deep to turn back now.
QFT This is why I dumped all my DRK's. All alt coins expect DRK that are still minable are only to convert them to BTC. Miners are only dumpers. I am not able to mine and support and secure a coinnetwork because of my powercost. I have to pay 0,36US$/kwh. Only people are mining right now with GPUīs are people who have free power or live in a country where power is nearly for nothing. Look at VTC. A very good coin died because of misbehaviour of dumpminers. They dumped it until nobody is willing to buy from their dumps. |

correct me if I m wrong, but this price dropping looks to me was triggered from the moment when owners of MNs started to earn DRKs.
Maybe most of them are selling immediately upon received payment.
But again if there ware not MNs, more coins would be available for trading - so it make no sense to blame MNs.
There are around 500-700 coins a day going to masternodes. You think thatīs going to drive down the price  Never. Masternoders manly hold their coins. Crypto learned them that all coins are only pump and dump and they canīt see the difference between a working project and a P&D scam. As there is no announcemnt of concrete day of RC4 release they dump because of their fear into their neck. Watch progress on darkcointalk an you have no reason to feel any kind of fear ! |

It hurts a lot to see current DRK price. The constant drop of price is starting to wear my patience thin. If the price keeps falling below 700 mark then I would have no option left but to dump and say good bye
Do it - sell your coins, if you aren't prepared to wait for quality. Sick of these impatient kids wanting price rises every hour or they sell. Investing in DRK is more than just a pump train. Its investing and believing that DRK will change the crypto world as we know it. I've been burnt on those stupid pumps before, I dont bother anymore. Crypto world is stupiest invesment community i haver ever seen. And as stupid i do not mean that the stupiest do the worst trades. Maybe these "stupids" made the most money - in short time. Long term they destroy their own bread they are eating day by day. Sell now and you get 50000 sat more than wait until its unter 700000. There is no devteam and in bitcointalk there was no communication. You were able to trade this on on swisscex @10 satoshi
They added it because of their voting system.
Coin has a blockreward of 40coins and a blocktime of 30 seconds and 1% premine = 2.000.000 coins
Now it is getting pumped to 700 sat. Some people will have to pay this bill
These scams are the reason why no fresh money comes to crypto and why it will never go mainstream.
I sold my old pocket @240 sat a feeled shamed to the buyer and though you are not better than other misbehaving people in crypto world.
I have no words over for such as misbehaviour community as crypto world is.
I really have to think about leaving this world behind me !!!
