241  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can gambling sites provide proof of auditing that was done on their RTP? on: March 08, 2024, 04:46:44 AM

So, I know these audits are done on "brick n mortar" casinos, but what about the online gambling sites?

If these audits are done on online gambling sites, why are this not published online for transparency? It does not even have to be detailed reports, just a summary report of their findings.

I would venture to say that for the Brick N mortar casinos they are regulated with much more scrutiny but the online casinos are probably a lot more loose, proabably letting things slide or not double checking everything as much probably due to lack of regulations. There are so many small casinos now, I think that something like chip mixers are more on the radar but online gambling casinos even crypto ones are probably more so overlooked compared to something like that.
242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the most you have ever won gambling? What is the most you have ever lost on: March 08, 2024, 04:42:25 AM
I've lost about $1k in a single night when I was still nee in online gambling.  It was with roulette which is a pure luck game. I was frustrated that time which made me bet continuously and ended up with nothing, was also equivalent with my 1 month salary back then which really made me struggle and became a lesson. I took a break from gambling and moved with sportsbetting. My biggest profit is $3k I guess, and that's for more than two months of having quite of a good win-lose ratio with my bets but I'm still happy with it. If we would look in a deeper context, you could really lose big amount in an instant and will more often win smaller amount that what you have lost. Luck is not something we have control of. Up until now, I am limiting the amount I am engaging in gambling to avoid the unwanted outcome. Winning is surely difficult therefore to be preventive of loss is important by means of self discipline and regulation. You could be lucky indeed and we don't have the same fate.

I have a friend of mine who won $50k in a single night with slots. Also a family friend who won the lottery with big reward. It is really envious however we know how gambling works. Not because other people won big amount, it will be guaranteed to all of us already. It depends on your luck, but pushing it won't be of any help.

Wow! 1k loss and 3k winnings, thats pretty good! Hopefully some of that luck from your friends will rub off on you! If you have been on a gambling streak it is always a good idea to step back for a time and reassess yourself, especially if you are depending on the income to live. I hope you win big buddy!
243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 08, 2024, 04:38:34 AM
I imagine gambling like .there will be a device where in all people will be just a hologram, and be on the same table seeing other participants, because what we all see in the movies are coming in real-life like flying cars etc., so i think its easy for gambling to innovate.
That's going to happen someday, people that are inspired by sci-fi movies have a way of finding out ways to figure the things that they want to create, that's how it has been for thousands of years, innovators getting inspiration. I don't like your idea of flying cars though, have you heard of the 9/11 attacks? Flying would enable that event en masse, let's just stick with gambling for now, I think what the VR technology that we have right now, it's probably getting closer to us achieving that dream that many of us gamblers been wanting to for so long and another advantage of this is the fact that if physical casinos get involved with this technology, we might see more people from all over the globe playing in a physical casino without leaving at the comfort of their own home.

They have been talking about flying cars since before the Jetsons. The hologram idea has a Star Wars vibe to it that I like, and if you imagine that type of casino I think that ought to be interesting, I wonder what the view will be from the other end of that hologram though. If something like that does happen which I do also think it will, it will revolutionize gambling. Imagine poker tournaments with all the top guys just tuning in appering in their hologram as if they are in person.
244  Economy / Gambling discussion / What is the most you have ever won gambling? What is the most you have ever lost on: March 06, 2024, 01:36:22 AM
I was scrolling through this section and I noticed that I hadn't really seen a thread that talks about the best wins and fatal losses.

Maybe if the loss part is still a sore subject just refrain from posting anything about that, I am just curious to see what people will say.

If you'd like to, please comment the most you have ever won gambling, please describe what you bet on, for how much, and the winnings (for fun tell the story).

I'd like to know how it changed your life (if that was the case), what did you do with your winnings? Would you have done anything differently now looking back? Do the same for the losses if you choose to.

As for me: The most i've ever won gambling is also the most i've ever lost gambling! Because it all happened at the same exact time. I actually have and old thread telling this story that I will dig up and post the link: Here.

247  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] RARE Casascius Bearer Bar 2FA (1 of 3 Remaining Handwritten First Bits) on: March 06, 2024, 01:10:27 AM
I thought that this would be fun to add into for your post this is straight from Elias Encyclopedia First Edition Page 113:

" The 2-Factor Storage Bar uses complex two factor authentication to access the stored BTC value once it is sent to the bar.
these bars have their public address laser printed onto them, as well as 'casascius.com/2factor' which explains how the bars work.

In order to redeem the bar, on emust not only tear the hologram to retrieve the private key, but combine it with another code provided at purchase.
If a 2-Factor bar is sold, the seller will have the other part of the code, but is not able to access the funds as long as the hologram is intact.

For an unknown reason, all the first-bits appear to be intentionally obscured by black pen markings"

That last part in the quote doesn't appear to be the case with this bar, from what I can see, can you confirm m8? IF not, then you may have something  even rarer than you thought....

250  Economy / Collectibles / Re: NGC formally announces 250 Brass Cass Coins being Auctioned w/ Heritage Soon on: March 05, 2024, 04:11:57 AM
I too love the historic ANACS slabbed coins. This may sound crazy, and I am kinda half kidding. . . but not really, could you treat the whole slabbed coin as a collectible and would PCGS slab the slab? They have been slabbing Kialaras, cas bars etc, I would think a yellow slab would fit into one of those larger slabs and would be super cool way to preserve the yellow, error, and early labels etc., but still update to PCGS. I can’t imagine they would ever even consider doing this, but it would be super cool in my opinion.

Otho collection is out of my range, but just a thought.

Geophphreigh

damn I love this idea so much, and wow would a ANACS yellow slab look so amazing inside an oversized PCGS slab. please make it happen M.J.  Wink. lol

Ha, I'm not sure I have that kind of crypto-witchcraft up my sleeve... but I am happy to try

We would have "slab inception" then... lol Tongue

I know grading companies will do things like cross-grading, but this is another level!! Cheesy

Honestly this is a really good idea. Considering they are a retired category and historical ANACS collectible I feel like NGC would hear that argument out, grading a slab and putting it in another Slab it's actually not unheard of so to speak, this concept was employed with a 2019 'slab shaped' medal in October 2023 to commemorate 5 years of NGC's Shanghai office. According to VanEck, early SegMint adopters who complete the identity verification process will receive a free “Adventurer NFT,” allowing them to participate in quests and earn additional benefits.

VanEck, a global investment manager with a rich history dating back to 1955, has set a new milestone in the crypto space with the launch of SegMint, an innovative Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplace and digital asset platform.

In collaboration with industry leaders like Nueva.Tech, Delegate.xyz, MINtangible.io, Portals.to, and Walletchat.fun, VanEck aims to simplify self-custodial crypto sharing by filling accessibility and security gaps in the space.

Wow, this is actually really cool. This beginning of this article is also freaking wild! We are in the middle of history in the making and it really is riveting !
252  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 05, 2024, 02:04:18 AM
Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?  Is there chance of major correction from here as prices have already peaked now.
How could you tell that the price has already reached the highest that it could?
I believe that it would continue to fly higher, halving is near and more investor would surely come in.
We couldn't tell how high it would go or if it already reached the peaked because of the halving.
I know I am not the only one who thinks about it this way, and more of us believe that the halving would drive it even more higher than what it already reached in the past.

You hear so much of this and of that there is no telling what the price will be. Nobody has a crystal ball, although I wish we did! I want to keep HODLing but I keep thinking of the last bull run and how I didn't cash in and then it plummited. And i'm still holding. I still WANT to hold on! We are SO CLOSE to a new ATH!!! I wonder how long it will hover there before a retracement, my guess is that it won't be there for long!!!
253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: March 05, 2024, 01:55:44 AM
I personally don't think there is a real possibility of Nikki becoming president.

The numbers are just so far behind that I really don't think it is even possible.

If anything, Trump charges are making him more famous and more people are supporting him.

President is a far reach sure, I guess I was focusing on the nomination to the party and what happens if Trump is just not available.  In that sense she has the greatest chance an also ran ever could claim to have, hence I do understand why she continues to run for the nomination.

Trump is cleared of exclusion from Colorado by SOCTUS for the simple reason he has not been convicted of insurrection and so that rule cannot apply.  Making a speech in a country which protects free speech is not grounds to exclude someone from political office.  Regardless of Trump the person, the concept of democracy ranks far higher then any of the candidates and should never be compromised.

Its fair to assume Trump is eventually allowed to run for the election and makes the nomination easily due to such widespread support in at least his own party, I do doubt he wins the actual second term.  I would bet on that outcome if the odds were high and profitable but they are not and Im not persuaded by a poor risk low payoff bet so Im not looking to do that.  I might even lay Trump bets if I get the chance.

9-0 decision. Since he is now on the Colorado ballot, he might as well be in all states in Nov.  The ruling doesn't make sense and it's all because of an accusation. Illinois will follow soon. They know Biden will not win with all the mess right now and the speculation that they will not nominate him is likely to happen but there is just no one to put that can possibly win against Trump.

With the current odds, I think it's still a good bet.

Now this is a fun thread, I don't think there could be any more of a controversial thread that is geared towards the US. As for me I would put all my money on Trump. And honestly I think that even if you look at what Putin recently said about Biden, how he is better suited because he is "old school" and having him as President is better for Russia is such a great endoresement for Trump lol. I don't care what you think about Donald Trump, that mother fucker has a moxy unlike anyone else on this planet. His shit always seems to stick, he is tough as nails, a savvy businessman, and so much more. If you can't tell I am very much Pro Trump, he will win in a fair fight! Grandpa Joe will be in the retirement home soon.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Latest News On Golf Sports Betting. on: March 05, 2024, 01:43:26 AM
That golf course could've housed the homeless population but no, the rich white guys that cheats on their wives with sexy caddies have to have a place to do their boring sport, mini golf should've been enough.

Lol what are you smoking bro? "The golf course could've been used to house the homeless" hahahhahahah what are we going to be giving them tents to pitch on it too? What a joke. Golf is a legandary sport and the only reason you hate on it is because you probably suck ass at the game (like most people) lmao. It used to be boring to watch as a kid, shoot I used to hate playing it as a kid, as an adult now there is literally nothing better than gettting to the course with your boys, cracking an ice cold brew getting up to the tee having your buddy hold your beer while you absolutely crush a ball 250+ yards onto the fairway. Those are the shots that keep you coming back, and I feel sorry for you that you are missing out and hating on golf. Oh well. As far as the gambling goes, I have more fun gambling with my buddies when I am actually playing. That is the only type of golf betting that I partake in and I usually win  Cool
255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: March 05, 2024, 01:36:00 AM
I came across on YouTube where a gambling casino social influencer was streaming about a casinos platform.
He literally brought out his phone and was illustrating to the audiences that it is just few steps to take the winning on your games which is making choice of your predictions, choose amount to bet and also indicate his hashtag referral code and click on confirm.
Immediately you get credited directly to your account that just you won.
I just smiled but I want to ask, how many of you guys develops interests on a particular casino platform due to the influence of the casinos streamers?

There is this really famous poker player/ sports better. He recently had a ton of critical acclaim for refusing to split the pot of a like 1 or 2 million dollar pot, which he would have made several hundered thousand dollars. I thought that was pretty G. He was the only one who refused it but he didn't have any regrets. He had since ramped up his betting group on telegram or discord I forget which one. I joined it, and honestly I can't even remember the guys name at the moment, but I will say that he is heavily enticing to get me to use some of his bets. He posts like 4 of 5 free ones a week and they usually hit! I will go find the name and update this post...

257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 03, 2024, 09:53:49 PM
The Celtics are absolutely blowing GSW away. 82 points for Celtics in 1st half while the Warriors just managed 38. 82-38 half time score. Is there any chance for Warriors to make a comeback?  Would be an epic comeback, one for the ages, if it does happen. Highly unlikely though. Curry has only 4 points in the first half.

Rob Hale (one of the owners for the Celtics) is certainly having a good season so far! I used to work with him at his telecom corporation, if you havent' looked him up he has quite a crazy story, (just google Rob Hale). Anyhow, it surely wouild be something if the Warriors were to make a comeback from being down 44 points! I wonder what the betting odds on that woud win if you placed some kind of crazy parlay, probably a lot!!

Ooops, sorry, just noticed already was posted above  Embarrassed

That's amazing! Congratulations Otoh, this sale was an absolute hit! This was a win win win for everyone involved. Didn't you say you meant to do another one with Heritage soon?

Yes indeed, I am in talks with them now about that, if it goes ahead then there'll be much more variety and rares on offer this next time, I don't want to list more than the present physical crypto collectors market can comfortably absorb, but on the other hand I do want to make a bigger splash with an amazing catalogue, and maybe facilitate some whale/s to make a potential one off world class collection/s in an easy swoop if they liked, and to also allow others to pick up some of the rarer gems that are getting very hard to source nowadays, so I have inventoried for a Part 2 and am awaiting their feedback on that.

A lot of the coins I had slabbed by ANACS between 2014 and 2016, most in early 2014, when they were the only game in town for that, so they have great provenance, kind of like the old green label slabs for regular coins from PCGS, and also it wouldn't have been cost effective for anyone to make forgeries back then so that helps, the only issue though is ANACS were very slack and didn't give many of the coin's addresses on their verification links page, or photos of them, they did offer to put this right afterwards but I didn't want to keep shipping them back and forth as they were rising in value a lot, so I'll need to decide if keeping the old slabs, asking Heritage to send photos to ANACS and the addresses for them to add, or to re-slab them with NGC in 'Otoh Collection' slabs instead, I did feel that ANACS graded them rather conservatively back then as well, so it could be that they'd do better now if resubmitted to NGC, but perhaps Heritage will think that maybe the market could prefer them in the old slabs, no idea or preference myself, and I will be guided by them on it all.

Very exciting news! Thanks for that update. Hmmmm that is surely quite a predicament you've got yourself in. I would have to agree on your comparison to the green labled slabs w/ PCGS for those crypto ANACS slabs. That is definitely a tough nut to crack. Honestly you might be right though in what you said about them being graded very conservatively and  might be better off getting them re-slabbed/re-graded through NGC, as you said. I think just for your namesake alone having them slabbed and labled with your collection pedigree would be more appealing to the collection but on the other hand the ANACS slabs offer a vintage feel and are semi historic being that you can't replace them becuase ANACS doesn't grade crypto anymore (Pity). Good luck with the gathering and careful consideration here! I'm sure this next sale of yours is going to be quite the sight!
259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: March 03, 2024, 09:32:27 PM
You feel excited when you win of course, but I think I can speak for everyone that it is the opposite when you lose! That excitement can turn sour in an instant with the simple pair of cards or the roll of the dice! You've got to take your chances and risk it to get the biscut! But at the same time, you have to be responsible and know when to say enough is enough. You have to keep your emotions at bay!
The Op did not mention that his case is that of pain due to lack of winning. It is normal just as you have explained, a gambler will feel excited when winning and bad when losing takes over. The level of pain is dependent on if the gambler use amount he cannot lose without distress. A situation where the gambler is losing seriously yet feeling excited is a case of addiction, the type of addiction that appears like catching fun meanwhile deep down or maybe after the gambler run out of funds the real pain will manifest.

Looking at the context of Op's thread, I think it focuses on distress, over, loss or win. A gambler can be tired of gambling often but isn't in control of deciding when to stop the habit. As it's already a habit and can't be forsaken easily. That could cause the player to feel less excited while gambling. On the other hand, if a gambler has been away from gambling, he could be happy to gamble again after a while of not participating in the game. Hence, win or loss is a part of the excitement gamblers get, but the stress can be a major attribute to how we feel while gambling.

Many gamblers have mentioned they regret winning with a smaller amount of money. They were supposed to be happy for winning, but due to stress or greed they don't appreciate it anymore. Such a gambler may have been so deep into gambling that it doesn't excite him anymore. When we constantly do something, the fun gets going gradually. That's why it's crucial for a gambler to take a break from gambling.

Yes that is an interesting take, its like their tolerance level is so high that they no longer feel the effects of the endorphins flooding into their system so essentially they feel numb to it maybe? Or maybe there is just a lack of excitement because gambling is such an emotional roller coaster for a lot of people. I don't think i could ever get to that point. I don't think that there is ever a time when I don't feel nervous or anxious when I am gambling unless I am exuding full confidence in what I am doing and maybe I have had some of that liquid luck myself lol.
260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 03, 2024, 09:22:45 PM

Today i decided to try one of my sweet predictions in the EPL games. So, i predicted in 4 matches and placed my net. However, during this time i watched my games played so well but two games were holding it and i felt i would lose this game. It was already 83 minutes and i needed these games to play at 87 minutes i gave up and decided to cashout the amount i used to stake since it was the amount that was showing there. I thought it was clear and instead of losing i should rather just get my money back. Just in 15 minutes after i checked the live score and found out that the game played. I felt so angry and unhappy because i have not trusted my instincts if not i wouldn't have cashed out at that time.

It is a shame that you didn't stick with you gut! I too just had this same feeling when I took the cashout option on the Chiefs Superbowl game. I didn't think they were going to win and the clock was winding down, had I just left my bet that the chiefs were going to win I would have won a nice little sum but instead I made it out completely even. Honeslty you can't be mad about that but in this case as well as many there is that FOMO factor and the regrets from not doing what you thought in the first place. Consider yourself lucky, you could have easily been wrong and lost it all!
