Is it true that LJ777 holds 2% of all iotas and doesn't want to donate a single iota to foundation ?

And AltcoinScamfinder so busy with finding next altcoin scam that doesn't appear for a month in forum to pay the buyers theirs iotas ?
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 18, 2016, 09:54:41 AM
IOTA Foundation is still short ~22.2 Ti (~2220 Ti). If rest funds don't get raised in time, IOTA will fail*. Please Donate ASAP, this might be the last chance to save your investment!! http://foundation.iotatoken.com/

Dead line for Donations is 19.07 if I recall right.

*This is my Personal opinion.

Some of us can't donate yet. So they should extend deadline.
If the minimum goal is not meet in July 19th, what will happen? How to deal with the collected 116.8296 Ti fund as of today?

And will developers stop development and our IOTA in hand will be a sh*t? This will be a disaster.

I believe "iotatoken" or  David will make an official statement regarding that today.

From what I have understood, should the foundation not get funded, further development will stop as the devs have delivered a working platform as promised in the Agreemend when we bought the Iota tokens.
They try to make it a community driven project, should the community fail they will continue development with Privat sponsors/company's.

But please take these assumptions with a grain of salt and wait for an official announcement from David. Then we will know more I guess.

Come on people pull your finger out.  Would be completely stupid to let IOTA fall over for the sake of 22TIOTA Huh

I have donate a few GIOTA

244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Altcoins coming from? on: July 17, 2016, 12:26:33 PM
why all this coins need?

Trying to make something better then Bitcoin of course.  Smiley
No every altcoin better but it is like evolution. New designes, new implementations on new languages.
I guess no one wanna to say: here is the bitcoin and it is the last stage of development of all crypto, so we can stop forever.

Do we need to uninstall old version and delete DB before installing latest version v1.0.0-minus1?

Also, when moving genesis account to new wallet what are the pro tips, do's and don't's - I get the impression from slack that many people have had troubles. Is there a summary of moving genesis steps?

I believe yes, it is advisable to delete the DB files before installing the latest version. Exchange some node IPs in order to have a sound neighbour list and leave it running for the sync. It usually catches up really fast.

The first thing to do, indeed, is to send the whole balance of the genesis account towards a fresh new address, and wait for the 100% persistence.

At first it is possible that you get the "tangle is not solid" error, due to still weak connections. If your neighbour nodes are "healthy", just by leaving your node running for a while will be enough fot a stronger connection, solving the issue (it seems that generating addresses also helps).

Sometimes the transaction from genesis will remain 0% like "forever" (hours without reaching the 100%). The solution I suggest is to create a new transaction (like double spending the first unconfirmed one). In some minutes the second transaction will finally receive the 100% persistence.

I have got three different nodes, and they have been working great.

Thanks! Is there a limit on how large a transaction can be? I see mention of 3.8Ti, is that true? My genesis balance is greater than 4.5Ti, can I send all of it in one transaction to the new wallet?

Yes, limit is 3.8Ti
So you need to make 2 addresses and to make 2 transactions.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 07, 2016, 03:55:07 PM

It has worked great for me. I have already sent (and received) a couple of successful test transactions today (including in your direction Wink ).

It's great to see iota making huge progresses!

I like this version too - everything run good for me  Smiley

Sorry, I need to ask just to be sure. If I get your post right, 4th of July will be the day when send feature will be activated on the client, right? I thought it will be on 11th :/ What is right?

so 11 july the balance will be sendable (the network definitely starts)?

4 july the network will be sendable, so people can finalize trades.

In 11 july - I don't know what there will be I guess some media coverage  Huh

11 of July is the day of official launch.

But there were some trades in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1440112.0 thread, and we expect to have the ability to send coins before the official launch day so that people can finalize trades.  Smiley
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest loss in Alt-coin on: July 02, 2016, 11:41:20 PM
Hey,

Been compiling a list of alt's that went dead over time.
Was wondering

-What is the biggest loss you have taken in an alt-coin investment
-What do you think made it die / killed it
-If you were to do that investment now, what would you do different ?

Looking to compile information on the rise of alt's and how it is changing the financial world by storm.
All inputs would be appreciated.

P.s - PM's are always welcome.

My maximum loss was 35% of all my stash.

Where did you take 4th July? Is it true or just perhaps?

On 4th July I think in respect to USA?

Cheers

Only a little part of 1000+ PoW tokens is generated. I'm writing code that will allow to go without that PoW.
Going to spend the whole weekend on that,

So cfb is busy writing code this weekend.

why no rent computational power?

Cfb wrote that it is not parallelizable job.

Is Bitcoin legit/legal?

How much donated to foundation ?
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: June 30, 2016, 12:14:46 PM
Real prices from sellers who use escrow would be much higher imo.

E.g. I would expect something like 3BTC/100gIOTA and later 5BTC/100gIOTA or even 10BTC/100gIOTA - after release. That is because I have faith in IOTA and realize it's potential.

@ICO investors got approx 0.004btc/100gIOTA. CryptoKnight is selling for around 0.6btc/100gIOTA. In USD terms, that's about $15 vs $400!!

That's 26x profit before the foundation is even funded! There is alot of risk still. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves people.

It's smart to sell half of a large postion at this stage and it would be greedy to demand ridiculous prices like the Nxt initial holders did.

@WizzardTim's most conservative estimates, that's over 125x profit, with still alot of risk! Over 500x profit with what he expects. This is pre-launch madness. I sense greed.

I think cryponight is a scammer, cause he doesn't accept escrow and he doesn't provide his seed to CfB.

Current iota marketcap in USD is ~ 15 - 20 mil USD.

I think no one doubts that iota will hit at least 50 mil USD cap. I personally think it will likely be in 100 - 200 mil range.

Or a few billions, if JINN project will come out of stealth mode. But don't tell anybody

Ok guys, this is some contest

Who can write the best one or two sentences in their own words to catch essence of the IOTA,   wins teh game.

Next generation of Bitcoin.

You know, you do proof of work to send coins, thus you do not need fees.

And since proof of work gets accumulated on each branch of DAG, it is as secure as bitcoin, but it is MORE DECENTRALIZED then Bitcoin!

And the more you use the system - the more secure it becomes -> more PoW in a DAG.

So the two most active sellers both happens to be scammers  Huh
258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: June 18, 2016, 06:30:08 PM
I do not like conflicts and to behave in a way which annoy people, but the killer feature of Bitcoin is DECENTRALIZATION.

So I hope there will be no lock for CH address, even so it hurts some buyers, sorry, but to be DECENTRALIZED is more important.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [IOTA] IOTA Speculation on: June 15, 2016, 07:01:17 PM
