How completed are the translations of the mentioned languages ? I could definitely help If It's needed , should I submit a pull request on the Github repo or simply post in the forums ?

Quite complete I think, but all help is welcome because the new "Launcher" will be build in the Beaker browser. So yes please, join the forum and contact the folks who are doing translations right now.
I can do the Hindi translation should you need.Which forum can we get this info from ?

That would be great!

This is the topic and "Mav" is the user to coordinate all these efforts.

https://safenetforum.org/t/launcher-with-multiple-languages/11843

You want to download his project from Github as a .zip:

The instructions are here. I did some translations as well and used Notepad++ as an editor. Works quite well:

https://github.com/iancoleman/safe_launcher/tree/alpha-i18n#adding-translations

So would be great if you could help out.

Here's the Chinese version for Windows, looks nice:

Use this link if you want The Launcher in different languages. It connects you to the Maidsafe Alpha 1 network where you can test several SAFE features like publishing and browsing websites and storage.

Who translated the Chinese? Bad translation, they need a pro translator, not just a suck translator

This is a community driven effort. Maidsafe will probably hire a pro for their upcoming releases as the whole Launcher got removed and will become part of the SAFE browser. Until that moment people are putting in some efforts to translate the current Launcher so everybody can try the alpha 1 network in their own language. If you spot errors feel free to come up with a pull request on GitHub. all info in this topic.

I don't speak any Chinese at all so I have no clue  Grin

The Beaker Browser is created by Paul Frazee. It's a browser optimized and specialized for distributed websites on networks like SAFE and IPFS. Maidsafe and the SAFE community funded a developer to fork the beaker browser to work with SAFE. This process is almost done and Maidsafe will bundle the browser in upcoming releases. For SAFE it's called: The SAFE Beaker Browser.

Here's a presentation by Paul if you want to learn more about Beaker:

Quite a long update. TL;DR

- The Vaults we can run from home are tested again (they have new routing in place called 'Disjoint Groups').
- Lot of updates and refactors to the code.
- The community/Maidsafe sponsored SAFE Browser is approved and will be part of the official repo.
- Progress on the "authenticator" which will replace the current Launcher.

Safecoin isn't implemented yet. But Safecoin will be a form of so called "structured data". An external dev did some tests which showed that 1 single group in SAFE can handle over 100 transactions per second.

1 group of nodes shares a routing table and is responsible for a particular range of the addresses in the network. So it might be responsible for Safecoin nr. 100 to 200. In this test it's shown that handling a lot of transactions by 1 group shouldn't be a problem. The good news is that in SAFE these numbers scale if more groups are formed. This was a local test, and of course there's more structured data that the group is responsible for. But this is very promising. You could multiply the number of groups with the number of transactions per second. So if we have 1000 users in 50 groups they might be able to handle 5000 TPS. I really can't wait until we have test-Safecoin to test all this stuff for real  Tongue Tongue Tongue.

Using both Ethereum and SAFE. Quite cool.

I'm sure this is nothing to worry about...

"UK-based tech is now unsafe. All drafts of #IPBill "Code of Practice" require big companies offer Gov a chance to backdoor it, pre-launch."

Yikes. Will MaidSafe be moving to Zug?

Maidsafe is not a big company. It's also not a communications provider but a software company that makes open source software. It's also in the link provided by Snowden:

These rules don't apply to Maidsafe. but Icebreaker likes to troll a bit now and then so we know where it's coming from  Tongue

This one is tonight (CET) in Amsterdam. Later this week, there's a SAFEDEV-meetup in Amsterdam as well. Bitcoin Wednesday's presentations are available (not live) on youtube. So maybe at a later moment I'll post a link.

how do you see storj progress vs progress of  MAID ?

and in relation to above generally releasing software that is ready to be released means death to that software.

You have to release something, and make it modular enough for the rest later.

StorJ did a great job. Their software is focused on data storage as the name implies. Maidsafe tries to be broader than storage alone. It also includes "namecoin" in the way of their DNS. It will also include "Safecoin" where we're not limited to the 7 transactions per second like Bitcoin has. With StorJ you need to create an account on their website. Maidsafe lets you create an account on the network and even they don't know that you made it.

how was eth able to launch b4 maid, despite its short comeings eth did launch....

Completely different projects. Ethereum is a blockchain on which you can run scripts that gets executed by miners so to speak. They are working on data storage as well (Swarm) but that one isn't launched.

Maidsafe is focused on storing data on a P2P-network but next to that they also fix several other things like 100% privacy on the system. A decentralized naming system (DNS) without a blockchain. A way to log in to a P2P-network without a server, which is weird as you normally log in to a server somewhere. Next to storing data they also built a messaging system as well. And they allow "dynamic data". So normally a forum like Bitcointalk uses servers where data is stored and you post and edit data. On SAFE it's done on a decentralized system without servers.

So the full Ethereum (as promised) would be: MIST (GUI), Whisper (internal messages) and Swarm (data storage). And we're quite some months (at least) away from that.

The Full Maidsafe would be: The Launcher (GUI), SAFE Beaker browser (surfing websites), Vaults (running network from home). We're also some months away from that  Grin

But it's a weird comparison. Although I have to say that Maidsafe has Alpha 1 live with a Launcher and demo-app running on Linux, Windows and OSX. We are waiting for "The Launcher" to be implemented in the Beaker Browser. On the other hand we're waiting for the Vaults we can run from home again. So in the coming tests we probably see something like:

The Vault - for people that want to join the network and help with storage and provide bandwidth.
The SAFE Beaker Browser - to connect to the network and browse sites, upload and download data etc.

The DNS, Messaging, account creation, datastorage, website publishing are already working for months now. We are waiting for the next steps. Since a few weeks they have extra devs working for them. Quite a dedicated team working more than the normal 40 hours per week.

https://github.com/orgs/maidsafe/people

Great times are coming, but I think we''ll have to wait to 2017 for the real firework. They new routing called "Disjoint Groups" is implemented. They are doing tests and optimizations right now.

Several community members worked on a translated Launcher to connect to the Maidsafe Alpha 1 network:

https://safenetforum.org/t/launcher-with-multiple-languages/11843/21

The Maidsafe-devs aren't implementing this as they're working on a log in system using the SAFE Beaker Browser. So in the upcoming releases
you'll probably start the SAFE Beaker Browser to log in to SAFE. But until that time people can use this version with Arabic, Chinese and other languages supported.

guys what has happened. why the price went down. and question to devs - when it will be the next update?

I'm not a dev but all the dev-updates can be found on their forum. They post weekly updates and describe what they're doing with quite some details:
