241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold on: November 26, 2017, 11:46:21 PM
i dont think there is electrum support. i'm willing to claim and send your btg to you since i have the full wallet installed. just pay me a fair fee. no guarantees but i'm highly trusted.
All he needs is the private key and he could import that information into a Coinomi wallet then he could claim Bitcoin Gold coins.

I'm not sure that's true. My coins were all stored in standard addresses, so I was able to use Coinomi to sweep the private keys. However, I've heard from multiple sources that this only works for standard (1xxxx) addresses, not multisig (3xxxx) or bech32 (bcxxx) addresses.

For multisig, I think the only option at this point is to use the BTG Core wallet. And honestly, I don't know if they support bech32 addresses at all.

And downloading anything from the Bitcoin Gold website is pretty dangerous at this time. They put out a warning on Twitter yesterday that their website had been hijacked. Apparently they were serving up malware in their wallet downloads for the better part of two days. So I would be careful downloading anything from their site. Hopefully some better solutions emerge. Right now, there's nothing besides Coinomi, and that only works on Android with standard addresses.
You might be right, I did read about some people having problems with it before.
I moved coins out using that method though so I am pretty sure it's possible.

It's safer to move the coins to a new wallet before importing the old wallet information. It doesn't hurt to try.

243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in the top 20 coins on: November 26, 2017, 11:36:40 PM
Is it a safe bet to invest in the top 20-25 coins on coinmarketcap.com? I’m looking to invest about $20,000 into some cryptos.
Investing in the top 20 could be a smart thing to do though you have to realize that the ranks could changed when a new coin gets introduced.
244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading or ICO on: November 15, 2017, 09:14:46 PM
Hi, everyone. I got about $5000 to invest in crypto. Which one is more secure and profitable: trade crypto (yes, I'm a newbie) or invest in ICO?
I've made my own research and investing in several ICO's seems more attractive for me, but want to know your opinions Wink
Studying the market does help some but it would all be worthless if there isn't any action done after that.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin to invest in right now for BTC? Need opinions. on: November 15, 2017, 09:13:49 PM
Hello guys!

I have some spare BTC so invest in alt coins, I'm not sure which coin I want to go with though, can you give me your opinions please ? Smiley

I had on mind these ones: NEO, GAS, QTUM

Thanks!
Why are people trying to invest in GAS? Is GAS the same token that is used in the Ethereum platform or is it different?
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Authorship ATS on: November 15, 2017, 09:13:25 PM
How many beta-testers will be there? Will they plan to test system not only by writers? Any info about that, please
This project might have a little bit of success through their first week then it will prolly have a downhill turn from there.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Carbon Token Classic Official Thread (CTC) on: November 15, 2017, 07:33:52 PM
www.ctchub.io

Carbon Token Classic (CTC) is Asia’s first decentralized multi-ICO investment platform which takes advantage of the most sophisticated and cutting edge blockchain technology. Carbon Token Classic is both a decentralized application platform (DApp) and intelligent financial technology 5.0. The platform offers the release of a special cryptographic asset, the Carbon Token Classic, which will have a maximum supply of 100 million units.

Multi-ICOs Ventures – Creating more opportunities to entrepreneurs.

CTC TOKEN FUNCTIONALITY
Carbon Token Classic (CTC) is represented by ctchub.io. CTC is the only currency used across DTPPP (Decentralised Token Private Placement Programme) platform. Every purchase, sale, exchange or any other transaction on the platform will require the use of CTC.
It will be used across the DTPPP platform, and will not be limited by the platform in the future. CTC will be used:
As a currency for buying or selling DTPPP Tokens. Delivering dividend to the owners of the rights on digital property
Purchasing Token Investment Big Data analytics.
The number of CTC tokens will be strictly limited to 100 Million units only. At the end of the first phase of token sale we will conduct an additional issue – 10% of all Carbon Token Classic sold. Additional issue will be another 15% of the Total Token Supply.
ICO / TRANDIN
The coin is not worth anything from me. I will not be investing in this coin and people do have the right to state anything that they please.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - more or less valuable after the nuke? on: November 15, 2017, 07:23:32 PM
Yes, Ethereum shows yet another vulnerability after the freezing of countless wallets and now will almost certainly require a hard fork to overcome this latest speed bump. But for the time being, does this make Ethereum that much more valuable due to the fact that the freeze limits total circulating supply?

Thoughts?
The pump been climbing the price of Bitcoin for a while now. People don't really care for the hard fork that much.
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you hold your coins? on: November 15, 2017, 07:22:46 PM
read this thread and chose myetherwallet and it really is easy to use, i'm quit satisfied so far
Myetherwallet is a nice place to have coins stored on though nothing really competes with having a regular wallet to put coins on.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term Investors Doomed on: November 15, 2017, 07:14:00 PM
Bitcoin seems to be skyrocketing however, alts are slowly coming up too. Long term investors of alts may see future ROIs..but that depends solely on development of these products. Let's wait and see.
Bitcoin is going up in price, there is no stopping it when more people find that they can make money just by investing in it. There will be blood.

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any bounty campaigns for Newbies? on: November 12, 2017, 06:15:27 PM
Cybermiles has a very cool bounty going on right now. Very generous. Here's the link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2346767.new
That coin cannot be worth anything of real value as long as Bitcoin is still climbing up the charts. That is the only coin worth holding long.

258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was that guy...Centra ICO PHishing scam on: November 12, 2017, 04:48:31 PM
Hey y'all, newbie here from Texas. I was one of the ppl who was caught in the phishing scam Angry trying to support centra. I was just wondering if there was any recourse. Huh

As a back note i happened to come across Mayweathers post on IG and took a crash course on the whole digital currency. So please don't get too technical or be to hard....i lost about .34 eth
People fall for these type of things all the time. People liked to use Slack when that was popular and a bunch of people sent money to a scammer.
259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Value of Airdrops? on: November 12, 2017, 04:47:39 PM
For anybody who has created their own digital currency and ran an airdrop, can I ask what value did you get from running an Airdrop? I guess of course it is a marketing exercise so would like to know if it was worth the effort and expense?
A coin that is given out for free doesn't do any major movements in the charts because mostly everyone is trying to sell their coins. It's better to just invest in something.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AIRDROP on: November 10, 2017, 10:48:48 PM
It's free money anyway! But I doubt these coins have huge values in the first place, since many people received such coins for fee.
It's free money but people won't be able to cash their money out when the price goes next to nothing of value.
