nem.io is unfortunately still flagged in Chrome, though.

this is a pretty big problem.  we need to try to get this resolved asap.  anyone who has not already done the whitelist report with google please do so asap.   for nem.io

I should say so:

Quote
Reported Unwanted Software Page!

This web page at nem.io has been reported to contain unwanted software and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Unwanted software pages try to install software that can be deceptive and affect your system in unexpected ways.

Why has this happened?

Google is throwing false positives for something that is hosted on download.nem.io which has spread to all of nem.io (the alert, not the hosted file).
People are on it. Google is slow with these things. The only thing Google processes fast is DMCA take downs performed by big companies Tongue

Thanks for the quick reply. I was being lazy and about to edit my post with a similar reply from two pages back.

Do we know which file(s) have triggered this?
And can we be 100% certain this is a false positive, and not the result of a hack?

I trust gimre when he says it's a false positive. I'm sure he had the signatures for all the files stored localy and checked them.
It started when the lighwallet was hosted on download.nem.io and then spread across the entire domain.

I just heared that Google has already responded so problem will hopefully be fixed soon enough.

Everytime i try to do delgated harvesting I get an error NIS reached limit.

I followed instructions and changed the properties file and I am still getting the error.

Are you connected to a remote NIS?

Did you restart NIS after changing the config?

I am connected to remote NIS, I am not sure if i restarted the NIS, also everytime i restart delegate harvesting or deactivate it i get an error but it starts or stops after the error.

Well there's your problem. You're on a remote NIS. You can't change the limit of that NIS. You're gonna need to find another NIS to harvest on or run your own.

That's Dmitri Mendeleev (the one who invented the Periodic Table).

I have a very similar look, maybe that's why Google returns that picture.

pic or it didn't happen Tongue

I get this error now when attempting to download the installer:

Quote
The site ahead contains harmful programs

Attackers on download.nem.io might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit).

I concur getting warning from Chrome?
can someone look into this ...

*img removed to save some space*

Let me dwell on that.

Basically google has agreement with multiple AV companies to block certain URLs.

Which boils down to the following : if ANY of AVs makes an FP (False Positive),
it means google makes an FP.

Apparently one of AVs, qualified our lightwallet zip (which contains nginx webserver executable) as a malware ...
(If I knew which one was that I'd be open about NOT recommending that AV).

We'll trying to get a proper review from google. nis2 - wait, what?

All of nem.io seems to be affected now.

do i need to do anything special to run a masternode or just make a 3million XEM deposit?

https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-supernode-rewards-program/1735

That article doesn't include any info on required internet connection to make the cut for a supernode, any ideas?

Jeff said it is 10 Mb/s right now.
I have Intel core i3 CPU@ 3,5GHz and 8 gb ram with 30 Mb/s internet conection,and still didn't pass the test

Remeber that the uplink is being tested.

I hold around 600k how much should i expect a day from harvesting?

depends on what kind of blocks you hit. you will hit a couple of blocks a day though.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 15, 2016, 12:28:20 PM
It should make us aware though, that XEM needs to be decoupled from the bitcoin and needs an exchange of its own. A fiat/XEM exchange is necessary, maybe the devs can create like a video concerning the current problems with bitcoin and why XEM as a currency is a much better alternative? Can somebody here tell me how does the transaction capacity of NEM compare to bitcoin?  Huh

NEM currently has 120 transactions per block so this equals out to 2 TPS.

Is that good?

No but it's more than enough for now.
However that 120 tx is a limitation that is afaik mostly catered to nodes that couldn't handle more during the early beta tests. If nodes were stronger (and they will be due to supernode rewards) NEM could prob do a lot more than 120 per block.

hmm okay, but in the future it can be adapted even further right? Not like bitcoin when it reaches its limit it melts down? Huh

Yes the limits can be set higher in the future. I don't think it's a priority for the devs right now though since there just is no demand for it.

Hello everyone here

I want to start invest in this coin
But I can't read all pages in this topic it is too much

Just answer me. Is this coin staking profitable or no ... and what percent reward for staking ?

Is that daily reward ?
If you hold 2-3million XEM, you will harvest at least 100 XEM per week on average, bear in mind that once NEM gains adoption and the value increases tenfold, this would be a substantial amount of earning each week.

I think the fake txs that are being sent to reward harvesters right now will prob stop once node rewards are up and running.
Earnings will prob drop a bit then until there are more tx in the network.
Since people running nodes are getting rewards for that and harvesters that are harvesting on 3rd party nodes don't really have to invest anthing it should be fine though...

i have my dedicated server online and uptime 99,9 %

i want to know what the reward i can make if i start staking with my dedicated server

I'm not sure if any specific amounts have been mentioned yet.
All we knows right now is this https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-supernode-rewards-program/1735
Also afaik it's going to be a lottery so at best people can tell you an average over a period of time.

excellent

i have one q;

step 7 of turtorial ; whai if i dont have static IP address?

If you hav a fully qualified host-name or a domain that'll do to.
You could also use one of those dynamic dns services.

For everyone using VPS from OVH you should be able to use the fully-qualified hostname they provide you in your admin panel.
E.g. vps1337.ovh.net

how do i import the exported wallet?

you need to extract the archive and copy the files to your nem/ncc folder which is located in your "home" directory.

somebody knows what was the price for NEM at ICO?

THX

that ranges from free to .75 btc (750 NXT) i think. It depends on when you signed-up.

range from free to 0.075

right...was missing a 0 in my post. Fixed it.

259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DECENTRALIZED crypto currency (including Bitcoin) is a delusion (any solutions?) on: January 12, 2016, 04:46:10 PM
This does need to elucidated unequivocally. I don't think it is my role to impact Iota's launch. Come-from-Beyond demonstrates a very high S/N ratio, he has brought important ideas to the community which have even aided my design, and who knows I might even want to work with him. Let him get a return on his investment. I have said enough for the time being. I can say more at a future date.

I don't think a general discussion about why you see blocks as essential will be seen as an attack on Iota. I'd also like to know for my own learning process what ambiguities in particular you are referring to with double spends in a generic system with multiple chains of POW.

I want to write that white paper.

I want to write that white paper.

That's good, but it's a shame you can't talk about the ambiguity; I think it's possible you may have overlooked something in your analysis. There again, I may be plainly wrong, but I am happy to be proved wrong.

For us to be sure that all chains would never end up creating a double-spend (i.e. that they watch each other in real-time) would require signing all transactions synchronously (one after the other, so the entire world has a simultaneity requirement to stand in a global queue to send a transaction), which is of course impractical.

So there will be windows of propagation wherein double-spends can be inserted in various places in the DAG that invalidate good transactions. The ambiguity is which of the double-spends is the valid one. You proposed a rule that selects the double-spend with the greatest succeeding cumulative proof-of-work, but it is possible this is also ambiguous. Can you really not graph scenarios to confirm this to yourself? I suspect your myopia is because you didn't do a holistic analysis. Incorporate the first paragraph above and then suddenly it becomes clear that the longest chain rule is ambiguous within the propagation window of asynchronous activity. Now do you start to see why it is impossible to resolve ambiguity without a block chain.

Fuserleer pay attention.

In that case can't you drop both of the transactions ? If it's truly impossible to form consensus on which of 2 conflicting tx is supposed to be apended/included then drop them both.
But maybe I'm thinking a little to simple here and am missing the bigger picture.

Using the letters for adjectives is still the best replacement for New Economy Movement I've seen so far. Of course which adjectives to use is debateable but i really like the general idea.
