Working on my coding skills, but still have a lot to do.

Wish you best of luck with that, gimme a month and will be providing people to train, me and anyone who wants. Not knowing how to code now is ... inconvenient but not hard to live without, imagine in 20 years time ... non-coders will be basically illiterate ... think back to Dark Ages when only a select few knew how to read and write.

_________

Couple of years back came to a conclusion that working full time as an accountant while trying to learn code and everything that changed in past 15 years is next to impossible.

Had I stayed with KPMG in 2007, would have been at Tax Technology Team, writing tax software ... which would have helped with coding, but would have destroyed any creativity for the future.
Gaming is what I wanted to do, hence being involved in every gaming coin since 2014.

The quote I sent was for game development project. Sometimes the old "just believe in yourself and have a goal" actually works .. may take 15 years and happen in the most unexpected of ways, but come Friday ... I may just prove that correct.

... Luck is a Construct ...

Not sure what is it about crypto that makes people just glaze over and can almost see them mentally sticking their fingers in the ears going "scam scam scam .. lalala .. scam"

Since my involvement in EMC2, we have tried so many ways to attracting developers and designers - from begging to paying - has been incredibly hard to convince someone to do some work and get paid for it.

So the only thing left was to say .. you know what? Fuck it, I quit my job and now you get to see how the master does it ... I am willing to bet 4 months from today I will know more about coding and design than half the muppets who were getting paid to do it. Have not touched code since 1999 ... and now I am going to put many to shame!

yarr  Grin

In addition, it will be fun seeing the reactions from all those doubters. I've had 2 people offer assistance in past few weeks, who I begged and bribed before and they did fuck all. Now ... Nope .. just Nope.
No second chances in this game.

Promised someone €1000 bonus in cash on top of monthly payment for 10 hours work a month. Targets were not met, as far as I am concerned, nothing was done. Wages over, no bonus.  Cool

Hiring starts in 4 weeks  Wink

Mystic brings an other aspect to life which can make it interesting if you don,t loose yourself in it.

The things I have seen with my own eyes in past 30 years ... both good and bad. Some things I'd not even wish on my worst enemy, who happens to be the person who ruined my 2014 crypto adventure with some .. dark arts ... When common sense fails, a true scientist finds an answer ... in what ever way possible. Although, absolutely, mysticism has a way of warping minds if not kept in check. Science method can be applied to everything.

Astrology is not mere star gazing any more and wishful thinking, real science goes into working out charts. The interpretation is the key.

... something magic happened. I guess by Friday we will be informed what happened, I was "informed by a higher power" that it happened.

Thank you @Varvarin and @OKorator. I've done your steps. Let's see if I have more luck going forward.

Little update on staking .. in general.

Here is a quote from ZeitCoin guys: applies to all (regular) PoS coins.

ZEIT Interest Calculations

original post for 25%:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.msg9439264#msg9439264

Updated for 15%

Current rate is 15% per year (365 days)
Which Breaks down to % 0.0410958904109589  per day, and the earliest you can stake is 20 days,
20 days * 0.0410958904109589 = 0.821917808219178

So if you have 10,000 coins in a block and it stakes right at 20 days
10,000 coins*0.821917808219178% = 82.1917808219178

But if that Block of 10,000 coins does not stake til the 25th day then your numbers are
25 days * 0.0410958904109589 = 1.027397260273973

10,000 coins*1.027397260273973% = 102.7397260273973

If all of your coins stake at 20 days the interest amount seems lower , but it will stake more times in the year and compound interest will be included in the 2nd and beyond stakes increasing the final amount.

 Cool

 P.S.
Write down the amount that is being mined and calculate the days since received and you should be able to compare calculations with amount received.
This is a rough estimate, You would have to Calculate by Hours & Minutes to get an exact match instead of days.

In essence, one does not lose stake by having less coins in wallet, just has to wait longer to receive more coins per stake.

Saying that, if you want constant staking, keep blocks above 1500 coins. Lower than 1500 and it may take days, or 20 to stake.

@Varvarin what is the ideal block size for OKCash?

I send all my coins to myself pretty often, I'm sure there's a technical response, but "Every so often, just do it Smiley"

Checking now, had builders in and staking machine got turned off. I keep blocking every week or so all the sub 1000 coin blocks, have a few 1200 coin blocks sitting 20+ days.

Since OK stakes so fast, it's not a big deal to send entire wallet to yourself every 2 months roughly.

The green outline is ... BTC spike to $480 somehow.

Yes indeed OK is in same league as other similar coins as outlined in red. I wasn't even logged in from this machine, fresh install and there it is .. OK  Grin

Anything I can do from my end to prevent the loss of staking portion?
My last successful stake was May 01.  Huh

Keep bigger blocks in wallet, too small a number of coins per block will take longer to stake.

Coin control and sort by size, tick, then send to yourself.

The buy support on Bittrex just doubled to more than 25btc today. That's nice Smiley

Now if only they'd gobble up some sells, we can call it open field day on trading Smiley

Grin Grin Grin

...
Good news, keep it up!!

Cheers, it .. will .. happen .. a money spider told me so today.  Wink

Quote
The spiders which originated the name "money spider" belong the the genus Erigone. Several of these are abundantly common in Britain. They use a method of dispersal called ballooning.
The spider lets out a strand of silk into the air and wind resistance lift the spider into the air and it "flies". At certain times of the year many millions of money spiders use this to move to new areas.
This is how spiders occasionally get caught in people's hair - it was thought when this happened the person would be coming into money - hence the name money spider!

Making some good progress with building my own geek team ...

... just realised something, in 17 years I have never failed a job interview, every single job I applied for and went to interview, I got. This little business plan is a "job" ... and the customer meeting was the interview.

True story: KPMG hired me after 3 rounds of interviews back in 2003.
- 1st round I was alone to pass.
- They found no one comparable for 2nd round, so I was alone with senior managers.
- 3rd round was with 2 workers, manager and assistant manager. No one ever until then went alone to 2nd round, so 3rd round was just to test me and see if the 2 ladies wanted to work with me.

This is it ... just need to seal the deal now and finance sorted until year's end. Developers on hand, contacts being made.

When .. when this goes through, EMC2 will have real development and I really mean real.

ps: (the two teen devs are still on payroll, just not bothering them now until school year is done. Older one is doing finals now)

"Just getting started?  Where have you been for the past couple years?  XBC has died, been revived, died again, revived again, and now is gasping for it's last breath.  Long live the struggle of XBC"

Here's where ive been:

May 2014 dropped $5000 on XBC

Dec 2014 dropped 5 figures on XBC

late 2015 dropped another mint on XBC.

XBC has died, been revived, died again, revived again, and is now stabilized. Be patient little one. This is bigger than you.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I LOVE this coin, I love this community and I really appreciate the work everyone is doing - particular shoutouts to OKtoshi for your technical work, OKorator for your promotion and Varvarin for generally being an upstanding member of this project!

For what it's worth I've held more than 2M OK for almost a year now and I'm staking 24/7 to secure the network with absolutely NO intention of selling anything until our market cap exceeds a few million dollars.

I'll be honest that I'm in this project to make money as a long-term investor and will cash out responsibly into a rising market when the time is right, having been in crypto since 2013. The growth, friendliness and attention to detail is what attracted me to OKC in the first place, and the continuing commitment of the community is what keeps me staking in confidence every day.

You're all doing an awesome job and I appreciate the ongoing work given freely to the cause of furthering novel payments in a crowded marketplace, so often beset by fly-by-night scammers and devs with short attention spans.

Everything I've seen in the past year fills me with the confidence I need to sleep soundly and feel good about my position.

Keep up the great work! OKCash is one of the soundest investments I've made in the last three years.

Usually I snip comments, but this would be just a shame to snip ... so ... thanks  Grin

Messy couple of weeks in markets ... did warn of BTC at $500 .. and it's coming.

I like to think EMC2 is way undervalued, of course I don't like losing either ... but still undervalued. Trade away.

SO close to moment of truth on my plans ... next week I hope and we'll have much to celebrate.
