My favorite part about scripting smart contracts with Counterparty, Pyethereum, and Serpent:

They have the same motivation to make XCP succeed as any other serious investor. They put their own money into the project, instead of using investor funds. This ought to make them much more dedicated, since they have something to lose.

Now that there is a scripting language for smart contracts, Counterparty users will be able to create their own functionality as needed. (Once it undergoes security testing). But apparently there are a few other things on the horizon as well.

Yes, I fully agree. Bitcoin and Counterparty as a protocol are essentially an anti-fragile substrate on which black swan events occur. I think the intesting price behavior of XCP adds a lot of credibility to this perspective.

Yeah, that makes more sense. I like the idea of travel also. Because people will not have to exchange currencies and pay ridiculous fees for it. But I don't think that will be the first either. Maybe in niche markets.

But anyway Counterparty is at the highest point since Overstock news, 0.01337470 BTC. And I think it's clear where we're going. And there is more than enough room for other pioneering technologies that use XCP in completely original ways. It was a great idea to create something like canvas, so that it wouldn't be necessary to guess what the users want to do with it.

Most of the potential is still in the yet unknown unknowns, multi-sig and the mass adoption of broadcast betting.
