+1 after 20 seconds on this site  i decided it is the one I want to use.
I also read more into google and it seems I could pull it off. but since it is one or the other I will go with the open source program.

I need to have  maps on my website of geocache coordinates marked on it.
Is there an easy way to add overlays to google earth? Or should I use something else?

Have you tried Google Maps? I think google maps covers your needs.

I read through what they can be used for, but I kind of need to cover every possible area in the future, my understanding was they provide simple way to use small maps, I will look again maybe I overlooked something.

245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What exactly makes a 'good' Altcoin? on: March 18, 2014, 07:35:29 PM
All the same users making the comments, after spending a year on the forum they follow users they know around IMO, usually they do not oppose each other on if a coin is good or not.

Are you currently mining for someone? When would the contract begin?

Mine coins that are supporting BTC, Bitcoin is not going away and only coins that protect its success are going to climb with it, there will be no replacement.

Now! It feels like only yesterday I opened this account and started speaking my mind, how time fly's. I've had a great time here so far and look forward to another 1000 great posts.

Thanks to all of you who chatted with me over the last little while, even the bigot racist losers who troll the forum.  Wink

Looks like your going to pull in 2000 quick at this rate, What do you do when you hit Hero member?

Pro Asic here and I am just wondering why it is better to go without millions of dollars investment in hardware going towards your blockchain security? Makes no sense to me!

Well, I've always been open to the "ASICs secure the network" argument (or rather, open to the idea that I am wrong and other people are right), however I think https://blockchain.info/pools shows that ASIC mining is scalable in a way GPU mining really isn't (in fact, that pie chart looked uglier last time I looked, so well done BTC for spreading the hashrate around a bit) and that this leads to more centralisation of hashrate. I think it's probably still to early to say conclusively what impact ASICs will have (or cryptocurrencies as a whole - we're still in the complete infancy stage here, even with BTC).

I also think it's entirely possible that there's a good future for both networks that welcome ASICs and those that actively resist them as we do. Either way, we're all on the same side vs. fiat currencies, central banks and their orbiters, so long live BTC long live VTC.

+1 well said, IMO the developers of the chips need to be recognized for the part they have played in bringing BTC into the light, they too started against centralized fiat, a pool will never actually be centralized as its made up of many many pieces, i too think there is a place for both network's, thanx for the reply.

So what happens when the vertcoin developers offend someone and drive away all the hash power in 5 years? Pro Asic here and I am just wondering why it is better to go without millions of dollars investment in hardware going towards your blockchain security? Makes no sense to me! If Bitcoin did not have Asic mining then you would have seen alot more people with "Goxxed" written on there walletts.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good name for a coin? on: March 12, 2014, 04:09:44 AM
Activecoin, wont appeal to those in tech though, I read this thread 3 times to be sure I did not pick up one of the names here.

Now really why would you want to be Asic proof?
