Actually volatility of bitcoin is natural. Only thanks to it we can make profit and earn money quickly. If you like stable fluctuating you can just trade in forex for example. But personally I like such volatility, because it provide us opportunities to buy cheap and sell in high.

The market is controlled by the whales. And as a rule it is controlled through Bitcoin. Today almost all trading pairs has bitcoin as a basis for trading. That's why it is naturally that bitcoin (whales - owners of big amount of it) can effect to the market as they want. But I am absolutely sure, that in the future Bitcoin will be replaced by another altcoin.

Given the volatility and manipulation of the cryptocurrencies market, investments in Bitcoins are more risky. The size of the expected income and the level of risk are inversely proportional and this is natural. The same with the Bitcoins.

Of course you are not late. There is no any right time to buy or sell bitcoin. But you can buy bitcoin now and just forget about this for several years and get nice profit. However I think it is better to wait and buy Bitcoin under 7K$ or above 8,2K$.

Personally I prefer to form portfolio main part of which  consists of Bitcoin and Ethereum. But also I prefer to invest about 30-40% of my portfolio into BCH, IOTA, ICX, ZEC, HSR, EOS. I don't like small altcoins.

This year will be the year of flat.

Now the market unpredictable and not stable. There is no doubt that in 2018 we will see tough measures by some states to limit trade in cryptocurrencies and, on the contrary, attempts by some states to legalize and regulate the cryptocurrencies market. Therefore, this year will be determining for the entire cryptocurrency community. Personally, I think that we will flat until the end of the year. That's why I think that we will see update of Bitcoin price maximum records only next year.
