241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 08:14:33 PM
So this evening, I was thinking within myself, Businesses I could start if I made good money, I mean money large enough that I could start any business comfortably(no matter the cost) without going through any financial crises before, during or after starting the business.

So one of the ideas of businesses to start that came to my mind was a gambling casino, online casino preferably for me, so as part of my research, I thought I should put this question out here to you guys …

If you made a billion dollars or even more, as someone who love gambling/betting and have been doing this on several other casinos for many years now, would you rather start your own casino?
Or would you prefer to keep gambling, doing your sports betting on other casinos even when you know you have more than enough money to start your own casinos and make the casino as big as you want it to be??
Technically speaking, we all can. It is really not that difficult, it is financially pretty impossible to build and that is literally the reason for 99% of the people in the world not starting any type of business. If you give people the capital required to build any business, it could be casino, it could be anything else, then 99% of them would say yes.

This brings us back to the question, if somehow magically I get money, then I would start one for sure, why not, if someone gives me money to build a casino then I would do it. However, if I were given the same amount of money and asked "do whatever you want with it" then I would probably just buy bitcoin and hold instead.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: March 05, 2023, 06:46:09 PM
We cannot compare Airdrops from the past and how it is now so best to remind yourself if this is still worth it or not? because the way airdrops being advertise now it is given that they are only luring stupid people to let them becomg popular and earn while airdroppers will be losers.
I forget about this since years ago because of constant scam accusations  i have been reading , lucky that i never become one since day one.
It's not. The airdrops of the bull period were at least worth something and it was good, these days we have things that do not even worth anything at all and they are just futile working attempts and nothing more.

I highly suggest that if you are in the crypto world and want to be interested in making small amount of money, then chase faucets or something, don't know if there are still any, but it would be smarter. Hell go for community moderator jobs, there are websites with crypto jobs, and you could make a bit of money that way, otherwise it makes no sense to actually make a big attempt and work hard for any airdrop at all, they are all worthless.
243  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Disrupting our Financial Landscape? on: March 05, 2023, 06:12:50 PM
As we all know that Bitcoin is firstly introduced to us for it's convenience and numerous benefits. Being banked or underbanked, we can still enjoy the benefits and the accessibility of transactions as long as we have access to internet. Another benefit also is the anonimity it gives to people(although some would probably say not totally). By this, it is only right to say that Bitcoin has the potential to completely transform the way we think about money and finance. Compared to what we traditionally knew about finance, cryptocurrencies and bitcoin allows an individual to participate on the global economy without much requirement that otherwise it would be impossible.
I think it is not really about age, or not even about disrupting at all, it is about do we need it? I mean if bitcoin is capable of disrupting the current financial landscape and there are millions, even tens of millions of people in the crypto world, does that say anything about fiat world? I think that should be what we should be focusing at the moment.

If the fiat world is bad enough that people are moving towards bitcoin then maybe the problem is not with bitcoin but the problem is with the financial landscape itself? We should try to fix that before we try to attack bitcoin to be fair, that should be a lot more valid and a lot more important to all of us.
244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price guess for March on: March 04, 2023, 09:08:22 PM
I think it wouldn't be really as much as people make it out to be. First of all we are going to see most of them want to get back in, because why not make a good return of your investment with something that both gives you a staking reward but also goes up itself?

I mean the savings account in a bank gives you a return too, maybe even more in some cases, but doesn't go up itself at the same time, in this case ETH goes up AND gives you more ETH at the same time, it is an investment that is amazing, so many will want to go back in. Secondly, even if there were, we are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars worth of bitcoin mined every single day, and it can still go up, so should ETH as well.
I agree with you, I do not think that this would really be big enough to actually change the price. It will be fine, and there will of course be some people who will sell, and that's not a good thing for the market obviously and it would hamper the increase in price. I am not against any of that, but that alone itself is not big enough to actually crash the market, not even by a mile.

I think the best thing to do right now would be to make sure that it is going to end up with a good return eventually and that should be more than enough, give people their money back and let them sell if they want to and we will be fine afterwards when the day comes.
245  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your bitter-sweet experience in trading that you can't get over. on: March 04, 2023, 08:21:16 PM
This is a pretty common mistake in trading because we are controlled by our greed. I think all of us experience this and that we want to earn more. That is why others are just going to hit and run or just set a daily goal and if they achieve it then they will not trade again on that day because, I don't know what the explanation behind this , but the market will kind of take those profits from you if you are still trading even if you already hit your goals.
That is called a strategy, people with strategy will focus on just that and they will buy and hold and sell when the time comes and that is how they make their profit, they are smart people and I try to be like them as much as I possibly can.

However, there comes a time when things change a lot and we end up with something much worse, which I believe could be a bit of an issue in the long run, the "fools eye", I don't know what it's called in English but a person who is mesmerized by the beauty of something and can't move or talk, you see it growing higher, and you are seeing how much profit you are making, and you get stuck and can't do anything, those people make the biggest loss.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: March 04, 2023, 06:33:25 PM
Survival without bitcoin is possible, what about all the investment we've made over bitcoin through the years. Always there'll be a solution and we don't experience such scenario with bitcoin. Complete ban on bitcoin isn't possible and if such thing is possible long back itself countries would've tried it.

With time the market is getting regulated and the acceptance level is high. So, we can expect positive things to happen relative to bitcoin than something negative. Few countries have given it utmost importance to improve their economy which itself enough to describe it will be used for long.
The funny thing is, there are governments who already regulated and check on bitcoin as something that people could invest into, and I do not mean just El Salvador type small nations, I mean like literally UK and USA and France and Germany, these are all huge nations and they are doing what they can to help people with it. On the other hand, we have topics like this who talk about cutting the whole internet infrastructure like North Korea suddenly.

Why would anyone ever imagine that we would go from what we are right now, which is supportive, to suddenly being something so dark? That's not going to happen, stop considering the worst possible thing that could ever happen.
247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 03, 2023, 09:21:43 PM
Yeah the money will be the issue with him staying at Napoli for a longer period because his performances are outstanding and it is normal that the wealthy clubs will come with huge offers that might change his mind. Napoli will not be able to compete with them by stepping up his wage to a certain level to fend off the competition.
As long as osimhen will still be loyal to the club and money shall not become a problem for him. Napoli will put him as an exception for the club to give him more salary once he will agree to keep playing in napoli. It's now osimhen's choice whether he wanna stay in the club even longer or not.
The thing that must become his main concern about his career. He can go to a big club like real madrid or something else to make his career go even higher. It has been published so many times if napoli is willing to increase his salary for the next contract. I see that money is not a problem here.
It's not just about him wanting to stay, it's about the team wanting that money for sure. I mean if any team offers as high as 70 million euro, or even more, then why would Napoli want to keep him? Don't get me wrong he is a great player and him playing for Napoli would be a great thing for them, but having 70+ million would be even better for them as well. They could spend maybe like half of that on a player and still get a Serie A level striker, so why not take the money?

I get that Napoli fans wants to see Osimhen stay there until he retires, why not right? That's a good player to have for many years, but the team has a responsibility to keep the team going, and spending more than they could afford to keep him is not a good decision.
248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 03, 2023, 06:19:58 PM
Odds are basically predictions. Odds represent probability. So there's really nothing special about AI predictions aside perhaps from the possibility that all the pieces of information fed to it will definitely be made use. Human odds makers could forget or miss a factor or two.

In fact, it is possible that AI's prediction is of lesser accuracy than odds makers' predictions. I am doubting if everything that should be taken into consideration in creating odds could be appreciated by AI. Things like the level of chemistry among players or their comfort playing with each other might not be understood by AI if it hasn't encountered it yet.
I would agree that some oddmakers could miss a thing or two, but not tens of thousands of gamblers, in fact call it over a million people in most bets. And since they all calculate together, when you look at everyone who wagers, eventually every single data is covered, if I miss X but not miss Y, and you miss X but not miss Y, then we together miss nothing.

Why does this matter as gamblers? Because we will end up betting accordingly and then oddmakers will change it based on our bets as well, which will be the odds. So all in all, odds are already telling us what we need to know, and no AI could ever do anything better than that ever, not even with all the data we can feed it.
249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 03, 2023, 11:00:31 AM
But Sevilla is not among the favorites for the win as of now. They are a team that plays well at tournaments and that could help them, but if they are up against Manchester United or Arsenal London, it is hard to believe that they could win it. If they reach the final I would be more optimistic as it is a single game situation. But in a two game competition I don't think they can win it.
Sevilla will face Fenerbache in the 16th round and in the league the performances of the two teams are very different, Sevilla have lost more got 10 defeated, so their position in the league is quite bad, there is 14, while Fenerbache is in 2nd place in their domestic league, but bookmakers still have more favorite Sevilla in the first leg later maybe because of the host factor so Sevilla got lower odds, but if Sevilla can go to the next round and face a stronger team Sevilla might not survive in this competition and get eliminated, two clubs from the English premier league are very favorite especially after Barca was eliminated and there Juventus which also cannot be underestimated.
I think it is more about the difficulty difference between the leagues. Being 10th in la liga is still seen as better than being second in the Turkish league. And you have to consider two questions when you are betting on this game "which place Sevilla would be if they played in Turkish league?" and "Which place Fenerbahce would be if they played in La liga".

It is easy to say Fenerbahce wouldn't be second in la liga right? It is Barcelona and real there, so we know it would be worse, but would it be 10th? I would say probably so, maybe ever worse, but I can't say that Sevilla would have been able to be second in Turkish league that easily neither, they do not look that great.
250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 02, 2023, 08:41:46 PM
Maybe we don't expect to see AI predicting matches but if that's the case in the future, we can't do anything about it and can only accept it. After all, today's AI technology is not as perfect as desired, so the parties involved still have to work harder to achieve the desired results. Maybe later, AI will provide the probability of opportunities that a competing team can obtain, and it will be up to us how we can choose the team.

Meanwhile, collecting more valid data may still need us because we are the ones who will choose the stakes.
Probability is already there right now, go check on google and it will show you the probability of which team to win that game as well, and if you check the "odds" that's actually what people are wagering on. The odds are adjusted constantly based on how much is wagered on a team, and that means if you wager a lot then the odd will fall, and that's how it all works.

I believe that it is not going to change much in the world of gambling, AI is something that learns from us anyway, it's machine learning, and we teach it all this stuff, all that data it gets is from us, if we feed wrong information then it would be wrong, so it is really not a big deal to me, and can't be that great in the future.
251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: March 02, 2023, 02:41:20 PM
although the Saudi Professional League is not as strict as the big leagues in Europe. Ronaldo certainly can provide traction for other players to show their quality.
when there are players with a higher level of play, it will also make other players to catch up. so this is a good motivation for players in the Asian League. especially the Saudi League.
Ronaldo played 5 times in the league, and scored 8 goals. very short which makes him ranked 4th in the current top score list. all players have to increase their game level to compete. otherwise there will be more European players who eventually replace local players.
I think it shouldn't be getting younger players to show themselves, I think it should be older players who could get paid more here than anywhere else. I do not know what the foreign player rule is, like if they can have all 11 players as foreign players or not, and I wouldn't be able to say how, but if they could get some 35 years old or older players that has been superstars at one point, like Ramos or Di Maria or even Neuer if Bayern gets another Goalkeeper to be fair, if not then maybe Navas.

These are all old players that could be great for them in the end and I highly suggest they get at least 3 more players at that age, and some domestic players along with paying huge sum for some talented younger players.
252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 02, 2023, 01:56:02 PM
It is weird how Reis turned Schalke into a team with such a strong defense. That is a riddle to me. They started with 1:10 goals after the winter break and everybody thought that this is going the same way it ended before the World Cup started. If they keep going like this even with their draws they will have a chance. A chance which nobody thought they could get close to this season.

Hoffenheim is in a free fall and Bochum are back to losing many games as well after they recovered for a short time. For Leverkusen and Hertha these upcoming games are also essential way markers for the rest of the season. If Wolfsburg loses they can at least temporarily stop dreaming of the Europa League and Leverkusen, in case they are losing, should take care of not getting even lower.
Well, if they didn't had such a terrible start, they could have been out of the relegation zone by now, and they do not have a great roster so they are playing pretty defensively right now and park the bus all game. But that doesn't mean that we shouldn't really expect much from them, it is going to end up being a bit of a tough deal in the end.

I expect the situation to calm down a bit and they will get back to losing again, and they will actually be relegated anyway. However, if they end up being this good for a while longer and somehow manage to stay up, I think next season could be even better for them with some additional players they could have.
253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: March 01, 2023, 09:03:20 PM
You don't have to be the best trader to start trading. Right?
You have to know how to trade and where to trade. I am not talking about bot trading here. I don't suggest bot trading as it won't help you to learn trades. I do not agree that you must lose your money to learn to trade, and it will teach you the best lesson. If you are a billionaire, that's a different case. But, On an online platform, You shouldn't suggest such things.

Surely demo balance and demo trades help newbies how to do it. Even some casinos offer demo tokens to test their games. Some of them offer faucets for their games. Did you see when a new medicine invent, researchers never test them on a human at the beginning? They try it on other animals first. You don't have to lose to learn something. I respect your opinion. But, I don't agree with you.
I think you do not have to be the best trader to start, nor you would need a bot to trade, or you MUST lose money, those are all very true. However, you also can't start (or shouldn't) when you have absolutely no idea, you should study and learn a bit before you do anything, a month or two with some courses and demo trading would definitely help you, you won't be the best but you won't be the worst neither.

And about losing money, when you trade, you will always end up losing eventually, when you are a newbie you lose more frequently than veterans, that is just a fact and we can pull data from newbie traders on exchanges versus veterans and can see that. It's better learn from them at least.
254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Neither Good or Bad on: March 01, 2023, 03:16:15 PM
People losing 5 or 6 houses is the exception, not something that is widespread. And they had all those houses to begin with, which means they were rich, people usually have a house half paid for. It is normal to lose more than expected at a much lower level. On the rest of what you say, I agree, and also with the general statement of the thread. It is neither good nor bad, just like a knife. You can use it to entertain yourself like most people do and walk away with some extra cash from time to time.

The problem is when people put too much hope in something where the odds are against them.
It is exception but it does exists unfortunately. I have a friend whose father is a rich politician, and to be fair I kind of not feel sorry for him too much because it is corruption that got him that much houses, but he lost 11 houses over course of 5-6 years when he went to gambling, and that is why I feel like it is still possible to lose that much. People who can't control themselves while gambling is the bread and butter of this industry.

If everyone was like us who could control themselves, and limit their budget, then it wouldn't really make any sense to run a casino since casinos wouldn't be making too much profit. But when there are these type of people who lose everything, they start to make some serious profit.

Here is something that causes controversy and that can leave PSG in a bad light:

Report: PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi under investigation for kidnap and torture

Quote
The Ligue 1 club's president is being accused of detaining man who allegedly acquired sex tapes and documents in relation to the 2022 World Cup.

The president of Paris Saint-Germain football club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is facing an investigation in France over allegations of kidnapping and torture. The case relates to a complaint made by Franco-Algerian lobbyist, Tayeb Benabderrahmane, who claims he was detained in Qatar for six months in 2020 because he possessed "sensitive" documents, including a smartphone belonging to Mr Al-Khelaifi, and compromising materials.

It is alleged that Mr Benabderrahmane had documents relating to the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar, as well as the awarding of the 2026 and 2030 World Cup TV rights to beIN Media, of which Mr Al-Khelaifi is president. The lobbyist claims he obtained the materials from Mr Al-Khelaifi's butler.

Source: https://www.livesoccertv.com/es/news/464180/report-psg-president-nasser-al-khelaifi-under-investigation-for-kidnap-and-torture/

Although sometimes everything can be set up to make certain people feel bad, it is a pity that problems of this nature always arise that tarnish fútbol.
I am 100% certain that certain rich people at the very top probably all have these type of tapes. In fact, when panama papers and similar things came about, where we have seen the clear corruption of the rich people, people who avoided taxes in billions of dollars, and even sex tape of so many famous people, it literally did nothing for their career at all.

I understand that you may want to hide all of this information, it's only natural to want to hide it, but when once it's out, you would just need to take it and move on, in a year it will be all gone anyway and wouldn't really matter. This response to just kidnap and torture a person in retaliation? That's sick, it's disgusting and the owner should be banned from being an owner straight up, how can we support a person who kidnapped another person and tortured him to keep being an owner?
256  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is for the important things on: February 28, 2023, 08:14:03 PM
While you are still building your personal finances in a sustainable way, it's important to keep focused in spending money only with what really is necessary, thinking on your long term goals, so once you achieve it, you can start spending your money with superfluous things, like branded clothes, acessories, restaurants and travels without worring if you are going to have money later for your basic needs.

For everything there is a right time in life and I believe if we respect it, we can enjoy the fruits and rewards that reach to us gradually.
That depends on your income though. If you have a good enough income that you could spend less and less, while your income stays big and you could save a good amount to bitcoin, then you are definitely right and there is no issues about that.

However, if you end up with something a bit worse, something that will make you lose a lot more money, then it wouldn't really make sense to invest in that regard, like lets say you are making lower than you should and even your income is not enough, in that case you can't invest. I personally invest 10-20% of my salary into bitcoin every single month, sometimes I fail like this month, but usually I do, and that's how I like to keep it forever.

Interesting, I tend to not have a lot of luck on the slots so I just mine my tokens by playing the inhouse games on the lowest risk. But I always go from game to game: Dice, Limbo, Spacedice, Keno, Plinko,…
I think it is still worth the wait, I would also like to know the plan for the future or a new roadmap, but receiving the daily dividends is still nice.
From my experience i won way more often from house games than slots, but as in slots you don't get to set the difficulty levels, they sometimes hit and when they hit it's months worth of gambling in one win. I really don't except to win big with house games, and it kinda sucks when you have to set up your own risk level if you want to win big.
I agree with this a lot. I am not really a big slots player but I know someone who is one, and they end up gambling on slots with a huge volatility, sometimes they get nothing, but sometimes they can make as much as 5000x return as well, it's a weird play.

I like to gamble knowing the odds that I gamble, so stuff like roulette, dice, sports, all those matter to me because I know what I gambling and I know what I am doing, and I know the odds of me winning or not. Slots do not give you that, you could wager and get nothing back, half your money back, all your money back, double your money, quadrable, 10x your money or anything else, it's unknown, you have no idea, same with plinko too.
258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 28, 2023, 01:29:18 PM
Real Madrid most likely lose La Liga to Barcelona so they will more likely concentrate to beat Barcelona in Coppa del Rey. They also have Champions League to fight and it's reasonable to give up in La Liga and reserve energy of their players for more achievable targets like Coppa del Rey and Champions League.
I don't think so, despite Barcelona have eliminated at all Europe competition but head to head record both team Real Madrid always dominance on every el clasico match. Honestly Real Madrid have busy match after facing Barcelona on first leg of Copa del rey and three days later against Real Betis in La Liga before facing Liverpool on second leg. I believe Carlo Ancelotti will full team against Barcelona because Copa Del Rey seems important have to collect this season.

Realistic with Barcelona achievement copa del rey target after losing compete in Europe League and La Liga still possibility to be winner in this season regarding 7 points behind Real Madrid.
How long are we looking? I mean last season Barcelona won 4-0 and yet they lost the league and Real got the league, this season Real won but Barcelona is leading. Are we looking historically? Because Barcelona won more than Real, which should be pretty obvious that they are better historically in that case, or we could just look at the recent games both teams played and make a calculation based on that?

I would say that whenever it is about el classico, it is not going to be a simple solution, anything could happen, nobody expected barça to win 4-0 on their worst season, and yet they did, those type of unexcepted stuff could happen in el classico in any game.
259  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: African government against or for crypto?? on: February 28, 2023, 09:29:56 AM
I think it doesn't really matter if the government like bitcoin or not. The most important thing is that it helps people and people will be using it no matter what. So I think the adoption of bitcoin will be getting bigger no matter what the government is thinking. And in the end, bitcoin is created to take away our freedoms from the government and make a revolution. The best way the government can help is not to slow down adoption.
There is also a situation where governments are elected via elections, which means that they need votes, you can be the greatest government the world has ever seen, but if people do not vote you then you will be ousted on next election. So, what does that tells us? They could change their point about bitcoin depending on what people say, if enough people say it's bad, then they will ban it, if enough people say it's good then will make it legal.

It is all about votes that they could get and what they do will bring in how many votes. My nation did that for example, government didn't like it, people protested, now they made it legal and can be used very easily.

If an investor who enters the crypto trading industry does not know of it, he only has capital, he is called a "Gambler" not a trader. He just depends on luck to earn the amount of money he will use. That means he can do that, but the risk is high because the investor is gambling with his investment.

Apart from that, he also knows in himself that there is also a high possibility that he will lose his investment in crypto trading. Then he should not have regrets about losing his capital because most cryptocurrencies are volatile.
There are plenty of people who could be considered gamblers in the crypto world, and I mean literally tens of thousands of people if not more. Because, they both put in money that they can't afford to lose, which is already gambling because if you lose it then you are screwed, but also they do not study how to trade and then they end up losing money that way as well.

Both of these makes you a gambler and not a trader and yet unfortunately there are tons of people who do not make any type of changes at all. I believe that we shouldn't be focusing on something this small, it really doesn't make any sense to me at all to gamble this way when you can do it normally.
