Hello guys! How I can collect GEOCOIN by what ? It mean whats app? Is there a android phone app for collecting geocoin that works now? I can think of a lot of applications...
We are still under development. We need to fix our wallet backend first, then we will be pushing for the launch of the new MapBox interface. I'll be sure to post here and on other social media channels when the Proof of Location (POL) geocashing goes live!

I received back in the mail a few of the physical trackable $GEO. Sorry for the inconvenience to anyone who did not receive theirs. I will need to speak with the local post office to see what the issue is. Some of the packages were successful, others were not. https://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/994997907827769344

so what about the people that had old chain coins they cant swap them anymore?
People who held their balances in the GEO desktop wallet at the time of the snapshot block taken at #1568125 can use the following form to request a manual swap claim. http://geo.money/coinswapclaim/

the old chain is still under the same logo and essential function right?
The old chain is using the original blue north arrow logo, the only market that exists is Yobit as they did not support the swap. This chain is considered developer abandoned. Back in January the GeoCoin project migrated over to the Ubiq Network as an ERC20 token. This chain is using the new GEO logo shown in my avatar. It is currently available for trading on both Bittrex and Cryptopia. There are also a few additional options provided at Indacoin and CoinSwitch. Hope that helps clear things up.

my wallet isnt working right, do you have any nodes?
The original POW blockchain is now developer abandoned so the network stability is not guaranteed. That being said, there is a list of nodes found on the old blockexplorer here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/geo/#!network Try adding these nodes manually: 147.135.191.162:9748 145.239.30.140:9748 46.105.118.15:9748 138.201.221.88:9748 104.237.4.33:9748

I think your project gives us less information. I want to ask about the purpose of this project? The benefits are quite interesting.
The main goal of GeoCoin is to bring GIS & GeoTechnologies to the blockchain. We've been developing our new MapBox GeoCashing interface which allows users to drap and drop GEO right onto the map for other users to pick up. Where you choose to place the GEO is up to you. You could use it to promote your business or an event, create a scavenger hunt, contest or any other promotion that you want to encourage people to get outside.

Geo in January had a switch to a new blockchain. The 1st link is some different coin, it's supply is 20milion and last transactions occured over 30 days ago. 2nd link (chainz) is part of old blockchain that is developer abandonded and coins from that chain can only be manually swapped with developers if coins were present on the wallet before the swap occured - therefore transfering old coins to a wallet and requesting manual swap is not going to be honored. Only official exchanges trading Geo coins are Bittrex and Cryptopia, recently there were rumors of other exchanges offering Geo, but it has not been fully confirmed yet. Yobit used to trade Geocoin, but they did not participate in the swap and they remained trading old coin, those are worthless as they cannot be swapped. As Geo is part of Ubiq network it uses it's block explorer - https://ubiqscan.io/contract/0x500684ce0d4f04abedff3e54fcf8acc5e6cfc4bdThanks for the detailed explaination YoggYogg. For those people who had GEO left in their desktop wallets before the snapshot block taken at #1568125, they can make manual claims with the following form: http://geo.money/coinswapclaim/Yobit is still operating on the original POW blockchain which is now developer abandoned. I'm not familiar with that link you posted, but it appears that someone has likely created some scam versions of Geocoin on the ethereum network. As YoggYogg provided, the real GeoCoin project is part of the Ubiq Network and the explorer is found here: https://ubiqscan.io/contract/0x500684ce0d4f04abedff3e54fcf8acc5e6cfc4bd

I've never used Telegram myself, I prefer to use the Ubiq Discord chat. It's possible that someone in the community setup a Telegram chat for GEO, I'm unsure.

Maybe we all need to be little bit more patient. There is announcements about that GEO will be listed on Indacoin. But i can't find it there GEO now. Maybe it will be listed later and it will make permanent rise to GEO price, we need to wait. Also i found GEO listed at https://coinswitch.coBut wasn't any news about GEO had added there. Indacoin listed GEO a few weeks back, but I agree I'm not seeing it there atm. I'll send them a message to see what's up. I didn't know about https://coinswitch.co, thanks for the heads up. Anyone have any experience with that group?

Greetings folks, glad to be back after an awesome trip to Japan! Still dealing with some of the jet lag, but I'm excited to get things moving once again on the development front. As I mentioned before we will be partnering with KryptoTech.io blockchain technologies for their assistance with our wallet backend. Here we GEO!

---Everyone We now support GEO - Just to FYI - We have 4 locations worldwide - East & West USA, UK (London) and EU (Germany) right now for local stratums - Will be opening APAC (Singapore) within 2 weeks. www.QuantumMiningPool.comDiscord Link - https://discord.gg/dWNJEpxMine here for more - Over 225+ coins... Please do not open up additional mining pools for GEO as this is for the original blockchain which is now developer abandoned. The POW mining phased ended back in January with our migration to the Ubiq Network.

Do you guys have a video tutorial about this swap. I finally recover my GEO from Poloniex and they are stored in the old GEO desktop wallet but I have not been able to get the watch contract. What is suppose I have to type for the contract name space?
All the instructions for making a manual swap claim can be found here: http://geo.money/coinswapclaim/You'll need to add the GeoCoin contract address in under "Watch Tokens", not watch contracts. 0x500684CE0D4f04aBeDff3e54fCF8acC5E6CFc4bD Dear Dev my apologizes in advance about the stupid questions I am going to ask you. It is about the swap. STEPS) 2. Enter Address. To view all your Addresses, check them out in the address book. WHAT ADDRESS I HAVE TO TYPE HERE?3. Enter Signed Message (corresponding receiving Ubiq Network address from Fusion wallet) I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS PARTI am so sorry to bother you. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the confusion, I sent you the info in a DM and I believe I've processed your claim

Last night I was able to get 6 more physical trackable GeoCoins off to people from the geocaching.com community to help us get them spread out around the world!

Yes always nice to see some volume on Bittrex Exchange! Ubiq is launching a new governance token called Escher (ESCH). If you're interested in helping shape the evolving community this token will allow you to vote on upcoming proposals. Users who make a claim to Airdrop #1 will be granted 12 ESCH for every 1 UBQ they have in their balance at snapshot block #448000. For more details check out https://ubiqsmart.com/escherhttps://twitter.com/geo_coin/status/982309445563633664

weifa, will geocoin have ability in future to feel the height of dropping? I mean, for instance, in a trading mall on the 5 floor. is it possible? or only GPS coordinates without geodesic lift?
Currently the dropped geocoins are spatially located with x,y coordinates. We do offer the ability to toggle 3D buildings on/off but I believe your GPS position would still show you at the base of the mall in your example. However, over time we could try and include a spatial z value for a more 3D style. Do you guys have a discord channel or a slack? We are now part of the Ubiq community discord channel. Follow the invitation link here: https://discordapp.com/invite/HF6vEGFSign up to the discord channel, upload an avatar picture, then ask to be verified in the #guests channel. Once verified you will gain access to our #geo channel. See you there!

but can you explain to me what is the purpose of the project? what is the finished product and what is it for? I apologize, but I just saw this project and it became very interesting to me
The GeoCoin project was designed to bring GIS & GeoTechnologies to the blockchain. We're developing a GPS based geocashing game which allows users to drag and drop crypto right on the map for others to collect through Proof of Location (PoL). The number of applications is up to the community, whether that be advertising for a company or event, creating a scavenger hunt, or even trying to pick up coins while snowboarding. looks like something interesting and worthwhile. Do I understand correctly that you have already released the application? Will there be a version for the computer? We are currently under development. We recently migrated over to the Ubiq network, so with that comes the need for an entire new wallet backend. The MapBox frontend interface will be accessible on a computer (which is helpful for planning and dropping GEO) and also on your smartphone.

The GeoCoin project was designed to bring GIS & GeoTechnologies to the blockchain. The number of applications is up to the community, whether that be advertising for a company or event, creating a scavenger hunt, or even trying to pick up coins while snowboarding. This project is REALLY interesting and the implications for advertising are through the roof, you could promote any kind of event by offering an incentive to collect geo coins by attending. This concept was attempted back in 2014 by checkcoin and they funded an ico but unfortunately later just abandoned the project, but i still think the concept would work. Think of games like engres and how popular it has become, you throw a real world crypto currency worth real money and the concept takes on another meaning. I have asked before but not sure if an answer was received but how much real GIS tech is used in this project, i work in GIS and would be interested to support this coin In terms of GIS, the MapBox interface is itself a form of GIS. We also use spatial analysis for our Proof of Location. All coins are spatially referenced to an x,y location and we've got some more areas to develop in the future (driving directions etc.)
