241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your Portfolio before and after the pandemic on: November 18, 2020, 11:48:17 PM
There is no big change with my portfolio, only the value has changed as the market progressed good during the pandemic. By the time I converted little of my bitcoin to ethereum, and now that has caused some loss in the value due to higher percentage of growth with bitcoin. Maybe the upcoming growth of ethereum will make things compensated.

Same here. I have been holding old coins for years, the value just move a tiny bits since paypal accouncement. But I got high hopes still because the tokens are still listed on binance. Thats is the only that made me hold on to it, if it were just on other exchanges and not with binance, I probably have dumped it not mining how much I'd get.

If ETH will go up to $1000, it will probably start a bullrun as well but the development of the team will really initiate it.
242  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after 3rd Halving prediction on: November 17, 2020, 05:55:04 PM
We may not see that much increase like $100k or more until end of 2021 because we all know what happened when Bitcoin reached $20k in 2017, we will see more people dumping their coins once they made enough profits and waiting for their next turn which will trigger the oanic button so in my opinion there is another correction waiting once we reaches new all time high.

Will there be another long crypto winter?

It's likely to happen. There is just more fud that will sprout soon. I don't think good and facebook will just start banning ads again, it already worked the last time. But there could be a different banning or regulation or sanctions that will cause the bear market.  I hope to be ready to dump for USDT.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading... on: November 17, 2020, 04:35:12 PM
When cap and/or liquidity is low, it can turn into some pump and dump schemes where pro traders use followers as a leverage for quick profit.
Some platforms as -snip- only trade large cap assets which acknowledge for this risk by default.

Understandable that you are trying to push out your propaganda because you earn from it, but that is not completely correct. After being in the market for several years one which is unregulated and always under the vigilance of bigger authorities and scammers, manipulators, I can safely say that doing so can make you rich or poor at the same time.

The term "pro traders" is a misnomer and one that is rampantly used in the forum like they are real pros, they are not, but only self-proclaimed ones. Majority of the users who are making money are not directly trading but only marketing scams/gimmicks to newbies who are gullible enough to fall for it.

In short, like I said above, copy trading is a scam and if you dont believe it, dont. See it yourself and you will find out on your own. No need to trust my words for it. Roll Eyes

I'm very skeptical about copy trading as well. I've lost trades many times and I can't remember hitting big since 2018. All I want is to earn big every week but who should I copy and for a pro trader, would he want someone leeching over his trading activity and making money just copying him?

I wouldn't expect a yes to that question. I haven't heard someone really earning big with copy trading. Did Baldwin really do rely on it?

244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: November 15, 2020, 06:19:21 PM
To be frank, I once had this palpable fear around the time the Chinese government banned crypto activities in China, and I was like what if that happened in my country? But great a thing the ban didn't come, following the Chinese ban. That would've dislodged so many crypto lovers and investors in my country. Since it didn't happen then at a time when Bitcoin had so much bad reviews, I don't see it happening now when the globe is getting into full grasp of its benefits. So, I doubt if the government of my country can ever ban Bitcoin.

I was also thinking of that possibility during that time. The problem, if this will happen today, is that some people had already relied on cryptocurrency earnings. Some users are dependent already on their cryptocurrency-related jobs at home.

If the president of my country makes BTC illegal I'd be one of the users that will be affected too.
245  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think COVID19 is a scam? on: November 14, 2020, 04:17:55 PM

You don't really have a choice when you are in a country that has a strict implementation of the laws. Once you have flu or even have a toothache and visits a dentist within a hospital, you will need a swab test/rapid test for it. If they decide that you are an asymptomatic covid carrier you will be locked down either in the hospital or in your house.

Whether Covid19 is a scam or not, you'd still be afraid to socialize somewhere.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 EASY WAYS to MAKE MONEY w/ Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies! on: November 14, 2020, 04:06:02 PM

I have doubts that Gold Secured Currency (GSX) offering 200% to 500% by next year is a heavy promise. Doesn't that sound a scam to you? It's not when there is a bullrun probably.

Among the top 5 easy to make money with cryptocurrency you didn't include a gambling platform that could be more attractive and fun for the investors.
247  Economy / Economics / Re: A problem that can’t be dissolved: mission impossible on: November 14, 2020, 03:14:15 PM
Family is Family. They are all you got whenever everything falls apart. But don't always show that you have everything and you can provide all. We all have different situations but it's almost alike. I always tell my brother that my money is all I got left but I give him something to start. If he wants to loan $100, I give him $50 and that's it. He is grateful already for that, he better be otherwise he'd get a slap lol

248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time that there will be no new altcoin projects anymore on: November 13, 2020, 09:44:06 PM
Unlikely it will happen for the next 20 years because the new standards will change the industry conditions and the new projects will find feasible solutions to these problems. The investors will find an excuse to invest more no matter there is a newly launched crypto projects or not.

That is for the old investors but for the new investors and can't afford to buy the old projects that had already moon, the new investors will just bite every project that they think will also give them a fortune.

There is no SEC that will control developers to pursue a new project to compete with the old ones. Right now we can find hundreds of exchanges but there will be thousands more created because the industry still is very new. Not more than 20% of the entire population on earth even hold BTC nor altcoins.
249  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin payment for passport on: November 13, 2020, 09:05:29 PM

That's good to know the adoption of BTC is growing. Bitcoin is slowly gaining momentum after Paypal's announcement.

This Peninsula Visa & Passport Service is just one. I hope companies from other industries will also follow. US could simply follow what Asian countries by disinfecting their dollar bills since it's also one carrier of the virus to spread.
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Post-COVID World Powered By Blockchain Technology on: November 12, 2020, 09:10:52 PM

There were speculations that Covid19 will end by 2024 so it would take time and before that year many things will change including the adoption of cryptocurrencies, its still a short period of time actually that after just a decade and a half, blockchain can take over old finance technology and probably other systems too.

Our predictions that computers, robotics and machines will be the first to take over in the future but the guys back in the 20th century had not seen blockchain coming.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Pain of bounty hunters on: November 12, 2020, 09:00:32 PM
Nothing can be done because campaigns not regulated.

Its the risk bounty hunters are going through when it comes to fees. But it's not supposed to be a source of income so don't expect too much from the campaigns that might just be a scam later on. This is also the reason why bounty hunters are just dumping the tokens before the project ends up as a scam and also most bounty hunters are up to grab BTC, not an altcoin.
252  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin ready for world wide 1 currency? on: November 12, 2020, 08:14:04 PM
Well, I don't want any crypto to become a worldwide currency.
If it happens people stop using the fiat and the government can become poor which highly affects our economy.
When we buy something we pay some taxes to the government which helps to develops the country.

If we stop paying our government then it will be awful for us.
That's what bitcoin and other cryptocurrency are doing these are tax-free and that that's the main point why governments are against it and they don't want their people to involve with it

If bitcoin is the world's currency, it doesn't mean it should replace national fiat. Your country's currency can still be used only in your country, but bitcoin can be used in any country. after all, why are you so dependent on the country and the government? can't you be independent without having to be financed by the country?

That is not how it would work. The fiat wouldn't stop even if we in crypto just use BTC. In fact it won't stop because the government is already up for digital fiat. The US government even has a whitepaper for the digital dollar to which they can certainly collect tax from it even if we use crypto.
Bitcoin also will not be a worldwide 1 currency.

253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitShares 2.0 on: November 11, 2020, 07:25:12 PM
bitshares destroyed by wars between their developers :/ dam it should be one of the absolute top coin. They have defi many times before Ethereum but devs have preferred to argue with each other. What a wasted opportunity :/

This is one of the top coin back in the days, one of the platforms that is probably the source of ideas for newer platforms today like the WAVES and even EOS. Basically, it's almost the same concept but being rolled and outcome as new. If you were one of the old users, you probably have invested heavily in this project as well as holding more than a million of it.

Dan has the habit of leaving the project to the community though to make it more decentralized. I think BTS still is a good investment, its still one of the oldest DEX.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the new US administration be friendly to bitcoin? on: November 11, 2020, 06:47:12 PM

Biden just appointed a former chairman of Commodity Futures Trading Commission Gary Gensler as a leader of financial policy transition team, which is not bad cause he seems to be pro-crypto, he testified before Congress against comparison bitcoin to Ponzi schemes.
source: https://www.coindesk.com/biden-confirms-gary-gensler-will-lead-financial-policy-transition-team

Too bad trump lost the election to Biden, although trump never liked bitcoin, and so far have not heard Biden say anything about bitcoin, i believe that hasn't crossed his mind yet, so i guess we just have to wait till he assumes office and see what his administration brings, I just hope it will be good for us bitcoiners, because slowly US are becoming an out cast to crypto, so many platform refrain from distributing crypto to citizens of US, due to their regulation system.
I think we have the same situation like when trump elected 4 years ago.
I mean there are some people who claimed as pro-crypto settled in a strategic positions back then but nothing happened after it.
So it could be only a coincidental , or we as a crypto enthusiast overreacted on it which i guess it is we are too excited.
I will not expect too much about this. Time will tell.

I also remember that but later on Trump tweets, he doesn't like BTC. But then anyway, Biden being elected had given a positive effect that it's about to break another resistance. The bullrun is going to happen anyway even if the administration isn't a pro-BTC, this had been overdue since the halving. But if Gary Gensler can help slip some information to make people invest in BTC, it would be good.

255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: November 11, 2020, 02:28:51 PM

Is it possible that they'd be really back?

When investors hear about ICO or IEO, they are now just avoiding such project even when its a solid one. There are projects right now just using Uniswap for a token offering.   Terms can be very scary for investors because normally after the offering, prices are just going to be dumped by the early investors.  They may be back if the regulations of the project are handled by the government agency but who could tell when it will happen.

256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does crypto custodial service work? on: November 10, 2020, 03:37:05 PM

I heard this is one way to make your coins available and to be inherited by your children once you're dead. It's not really the ideal one but it could work if your kids are just not as techy for now. Sending your BTC to a 3rd party is like giving away your coins already. This contradicts the famous mantra in crypto that goes “Not your keys, not your coins.”  This is why sending your coins to a  digital bank means you already lose your coins.
257  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Using private key for spending bitcoin on: November 10, 2020, 02:55:47 PM
Thanks BitMaxz,

Its the signing part I was missing.

I've done a lot of research to get to this point. The problem is that many times subtle parts like this get glossed over or assumed.

For example: Another big issue I had was the question of where "Value" is stored (i.e. ones account balance).

This was unclear to me for a long time and many people describing it would say things like "store your bitcoin in your wallet" - which is not where the value goes... it lives on the blockchain and your wallet only ever contains the address (public key) that points you there.

The struggle I had with the exchange I was using to clarify this point was epic. It was no surprise to me that the support people on exchanges often have less knowledge than those asking the questions.

Once I understood that a lost or destroyed wallet could be recreated and no value was lost it became clear to me that the value was not in the wallet.

Thanks everyone... great community.

Be careful when you ask for help/support on the telegram channel of the exchange, whichever exchange it is. There are many scammers in telegram channel acting as support of the exchange, you'd be surprised they know nothing actually but will ask you to send BTC.

Its very unlikely for an exchange to ask private key, it basically just need a password and 2fa to get into your account. If it asks for a private key, you might wanna ask around and check the URL of the site.

258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets imagine world without fiat currency on: November 07, 2020, 09:38:29 PM

Countries like China were already issuing digital currency, it's been running for months I think we can scratch the idea that Bitcoin will be a currency that we can use daily to make transactions like buying something from a local store. With the transaction fees, you wouldn't try paying $10 worth of items.

259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin dumping right now? on: November 07, 2020, 09:14:06 PM

Can't expect it will really continue to go up to its ATH. It was fun though. You really can't remove election as its cause, its just too timely.

Now its going to be bloodbath again. Sometimes I really wish I have kept my BTC to an exchange which I could take profit every time and not have never really taken the advice of keeping it on my personal wallet. It could have been a big profit if I sold it and buy back later.
260  Economy / Speculation / Re: All time high is just around the corner are you selling all on: November 07, 2020, 06:12:36 PM
It will not even need another Paypal or big company that will announce their bet to BTC to break another resistance. The decrease of supply I think will be enough to reach the ATH but it's going to take time.

I do not believe that the value of bitcoin will reach the maximum values of 2017 of about $ 22,000 by the end of the year but already at $ 15,300 that is its current value I believe that most of us are making a profit

It's due to the traders taking a profit. It could be due to the election also but once the price this the bottom again, traders will start buying back.
