241  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria's Economic Problems on: February 21, 2024, 04:00:53 AM
Posting in the local board would be better, as most of us do not have data of the economy in Nigeria and government data may not be accurate.

Government intervention in times of crisis is good, but the type and manner of intervention will determine the impact of the measures that can be taken to solve the problem. If the government is part of the problem, it will not be part of the solution, and citizens must look for alternatives such as investment, converting part of the local currency into dollars, and long-term investment in Bitcoin.

governments in the world were affected by inflation after 2020, and few of them were able to succeed in providing growth, so do not expect quick solutions.
242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Coin suspension on: February 21, 2024, 03:45:57 AM
What happens when a coin is suspended? How long does it take for binance to release from suspension? Especially from conversion.
Coins are listed on exchanges to be traded, so it is normal for them not to be suspended,  this may happen for several reasons, some of which are related to liquidity, technical problems, or even legal problems, but this is supposed to be temporary and be resolved quickly so that trading can resume, if coin is suspended on one exchange, such as binance, the problem will be resolved quickly, but if it continues for more than two or three days without an explanation of the reason, it will most likely be delisted soon.
243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fixedfloat has been hacked, don't fall to phishing sites. on: February 21, 2024, 03:22:19 AM
Usually newly created domains do not appear in Google results or at least on the home page.  the closure of Fixedfloat will be exploited for phishing links if the domain does not return to work soon, as users will receive emails that Fixedfloat has returned and the link will be to a phishing link or any of the usual behaviors of these scammers. Google search will help them as they know how to make their links appear first.

245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Spot ETF's Manipulate Bitcoin's price? on: February 21, 2024, 02:49:01 AM
Price has been manipulated for a while and in many ways. What you are talking about is manipulation of the asset, not the price.

The only Bitcoin you own is the one that you have withdrawn from the platforms to your wallet where you have the private key. All other forms of ownership are certificates from a third party telling you that you have an amount of Bitcoin that is kept for you, but these claims cannot be believed or denied. These entities can manipulate even the presence of observe bitcoin hodler wallets, and it is easy to buy bitcoin, so there is no need to trust a third party to do it for you.
246  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FixedFloat has been hacked (26M $) on: February 21, 2024, 02:37:20 AM
This means they had more than 50% in their hot wallet. Needless to say: that's incredibly dumb.

Their description of the hack indicates that the security structure allowed hackers to access the basic functions of the service. It is a complete failure and appears to be access to cold storage, as I see in the explosion that the 1,700 Ethereum were transferred from one address. If they were in the hot wallet, there would have been a large number of addresses.

“The problem was in our infrastructure, which was compromised due to flaws and insufficient protection,” the company said. “This allowed the attackers to gain access to some of the functions of our service.”

247  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Blockstream Jade QR PIN unlock on: February 21, 2024, 01:59:38 AM
Wow great information. I had no idea, all three (PIN, wallet, & phone) need to be specific to unlock. BTW, what happens if I lose my phone (the one I used to scan the Jade QR)? I guess, I need to set it up again by restoring the wallet. Thank you so much, folks.
QR PIN Unlock adds more process to the setup as it requires several encryption and decryption settings, so as long as you have SeedQR you don't need to worry about losing your phone. It is a specialized mode against certain attacks, so if you do not know what you are doing, simply connect it via Bluetooth.

Adding a passphrase to SeedQR will enhance your security if you live in a shared house and are afraid that someone will find your SeedQR.
248  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [QUESTION] Service for secure anonymous P2P messaging? on: February 20, 2024, 05:10:19 AM
I do not think that many will be enthusiastic about downloading an app, if develop a website that provides P2P messaging with an encryption layer, you will find more demand.

249  Other / Off-topic / Re: Super Tech Movie-the Advent of Bitcoin-Blockchain-'' Satoshi Comes'' $1.1bln. on: February 20, 2024, 04:37:41 AM
No search results for Blockbuster Mega Super Feature Movie and did not find much. How can a movie with a budget of 1 billion not be able to get well-archived content on Google?
There is a large list of Bitcoin movies, and it will not be difficult for them to search for the story of Satoshi and the early days, especially since everything is open source and can be easily obtained.
250  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Blockstream Jade QR PIN unlock on: February 20, 2024, 04:20:07 AM
If you do not like Jade QR Mode, connect the device using USB or Bluetooth. QR Mode also has two modes: SeedQR and QR PIN Unlock. Yesterday you asked about SeedQR, and what you are explaining now is QR PIN Unlock. It is true QR PIN steps are slow, but it presents fewer risks than SeedQR, and in both In both cases, you can bypass this by connecting via USB or Bluetooth.

251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Demand for bitcoin exceeds supply by a factor of ten? on: February 20, 2024, 04:10:14 AM
It is true that on average, 900 new BTC are mined per day, and in the coming weeks it will become 450BTC, but it does not affect the market directly, as these 900 are not sold directly in the spot market, and most of them are sold OTC, so changing the supply will not immediately affect the price, but there is a possibility To increase demand in the coming months in exchange for a shortage in supply, which will cause the price to rise.

If the fees continue at an average of 0.2158 BTC/block, this will be after halving

Total block reward: 6.25 + 0.2158 = 6.4658
new total block reward: 3.125+ 0.2158=3.3408

6.4658/2=3.2329

Halving still works, so the cheaper the fees, there is a good chance that the price will rise and vice versa.

for high fees:

3.125+1.5 =4.625
Far from 3.2329, which means less influence of halving
252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Spot Trading vs Futures Trading on: February 20, 2024, 03:34:33 AM
Popular platforms often have higher liquidity volumes that vary depending on exchange, but by using an order such as limit order for sale instead of market order, I do not think that you will encounter problems with liquidity, even if it is low, but the execution of orders will be slow.

Trading altcoin contains many risks that are not related to liquidity, but rather to the difficulty of predicting the direction of the market. The lower the market value, the more difficult it is to predict and the less liquidity. Therefore, use limit order and set the selling price close to the available prices or slightly higher than them in order to be executed quickly.

There is a converter command that you can use if you want a simple exchange.
253  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Convertex24.io - service of depositing, withdrawal and exchange of cryptocurrenc on: February 20, 2024, 02:56:03 AM

Still the same as getting paid/rewarded to make a review  Wink
It gets to affect the outcomes of the general reviews as users are compelled to make sweet unrealistic reviews because they expect something in return.
You can ask Bestchange whether such notifications might lead to exchange being removed or their reviews being flagged because it might give an incorrect signal of trust. With this https://convertex24.io/en/aml-kyc-ru/ there is no advantage to using the service.
254  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Referral Code Not Working in My Region on: February 19, 2024, 05:03:08 AM
Anyhoo, I tried to find out about prohibited regions on their referral program -- provided that the person invited is eligible ofc, but I forgot talking to binance.com support hurts so I gave up after one try lol. I'm not sure it's the answer, see: https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/02/19/YmbAG.png
support team sometimes gives answers that make you to get into more problems instead of finding solutions. Referral links cannot be at the same level for everyone, but the way the system works may not be available to everyone, so they give you general answers and every non-payment case is dealt with on a case by case basis.
255  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: SeedQR on: February 19, 2024, 04:48:07 AM
I should have provided the context. I am using Blockstream Jade. As a part of the setting up the Jade wallet, it gives me an option to "draw" the seedQR, which is used to login to this stateless wallet (which forgets the private key when power turned off). What I don't understand is, why would anybody want to create this seedQR, which is like a card with the 12 words written on it. Sure, you can write down the words and put it away somewhere safe, but you shouldn't be using the card everytime you log in to the wallet.

Stateless wallet does not store any data locally after turning off the power. Thus, wallets are useful in case of physical attacks as If your wallet is stolen and the thief wants to brute force the wallet PIN or for those who have different seeds for a multisig wallet.

In this case, you will be required to enter the seed every time you use the wallet. To speed things up, instead of entering the words manually, you can simply scan the seedQR. If you do not need a Stateless wallet, do not use this option. the seedQR option may be bad, as everyone who accesses it accesses your money, so the option of manually writing the seed is better.
256  Economy / Economics / Re: I went London i have questions now the wealthy life there on: February 19, 2024, 04:18:30 AM
Tourists go to London to shop and buy things that are not found anywhere but there, so they prefer luxury goods, but how did you know that people are rich there? Does sitting in a cafe or buying a bag for 2000 dollars make you rich? I know friends who spend two weeks in London for an average of 7,000 to 15,000 dollars, and this is not a large amount, as it is an amount you can save in less than a year with the average salaries here.
Rolls-Royce cars are not a sign of wealth as you can rent some of them or some rich people want to go shopping.
257  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Convertex24.io - service of depositing, withdrawal and exchange of cryptocurrenc on: February 19, 2024, 04:07:30 AM

I don't think the idea of paid reviews can bring in any confidence to new customers, as they could just end up getting biased because the reviewer expects a reward.

Also, you haven't added any link to your best change profile at the bottom of the site. The link is just Bestchange.com.

They did not even mention that the $10 amount is withdrawable, but rather get up to $10 towards your exchange, which may implicitly mean that they may pay less than $10, and it may be a reduction in the service fees (if the translation is accurate).

I found no negative reviews but 155 positive reviews from October is not something you would trust.

https://www.bestchange.ru/convertex24-exchanger-1.html

I cannot read the reviews because they are in Russian, but they seem to be short reviews and not real experiences.
258  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A possible problem with one reputable mixer service on: February 19, 2024, 03:54:18 AM

Interestingly, the same user donated 10.6ETH to the forum, I guess to demonstrate that he has available money. This raises the suspicion that it may have been thought up by a third side like competitors or the FED for example.

What is confusing in all of this story is the issue of donation. No one pays $30,000 to harm Unijoin's reputation usin a trolling account without details or even giving more information. It is too much, and in a better way, this story can be avoided.
The amount of loss is not known yet and uniJOIN has been paying here for a long time, which gives them trust and less possibility of scam.

It seems that the owner of that account is linked to illegal or that the story needs more details from @jessuni or unijoin.
259  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Has anyone used the 'Bitgamo' platform for cashing out BTC without KYC? on: February 19, 2024, 03:36:29 AM
Greetings, friends!

Has anyone had experience with the platform called 'Bitgamo'?https://bitgamo.com/ They claim to provide the option for cashing out BTC without requiring KYC, and the funds are directly transferred to your bank account.

If you want to deal with your bank account, you must forget the term noKYC, as all bank policies require the disclosure of user data, and any banking service that tells you this is closer to fraud and will be quickly detected and forced to stop or request user data.

The site's registration data suggests that it is a scam, in addition to false offers.
Use P2P from popular platforms.

Referral links are a type of promotion for a service. If the service is banned in that country, restricted, or Binance cannot make profits from it, it will definitely not pay you for the Referral Code. These regulations may change according to what the company wants to achieve in terms of promotional goals. Therefore, ask the support team directly or Try to create content using Referral Codes, as inviting friends will achieve limited profits.
