241  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gated communities are real future on: May 15, 2024, 07:38:36 AM
I don't think that gated communities are the solution to safety in this present generation, warfares has gone beyond shooting and physical confrontations, it's now more of controlling missiles to hit intended targets. I think that gated communities should be a temporary measure till a lasting solution to the problem is found, because they can be targeted and hit at anytime, because their static position can expose them like sitting ducks. Besides it'll be very expensive to live in a gated community, because food and other essential needs will have limited supply, and it can lead to crisis on the long run.
242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could Bitcoin be fixed by someone? on: May 15, 2024, 07:03:33 AM
Anyone can see something not perfect in Bitcoin, sit down and code but to change Bitcoin protocol, that Bitcoin Improvement Proposal will need to be voted by Bitcoin miners, Bitcoin nodes.

This shows decentralization of Bitcoin project, its protocol, blockchain can not be changed by a single person. Nowadays even Satoshi Nakamoto returns and want to change something, he can not do it only by himself.

The Blocksize War: The battle over who controls Bitcoin’s protocol rules is a good book for reading.
There's really so much more to Bitcoin than buy, hodl and sale, if any bitcoiner that wants to go further into it's technicalities, then it requires learning it like a course in a higher institution. I read the post of odolvlobo, and his calculations were totally new to me, despite my time in this forum, I keep learning new things everytime.

It's good that Bitcoin improvement proposals are put into a vote first by Bitcoin miners and nodes, this shows that it's truly decentralized, even if it's creator Satoshi Nakamoto, were to emerge now, he can't independent change anything that he feels is not perfect in Bitcoin.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tornado Cash Developer Was Convicted and jailed on: May 15, 2024, 05:46:21 AM
No longer News that privacy in the cryptocurrency space is a thing of the past, with various government taking a strong stance against privacy it will be hard for any decentralised projects most especially those that seek to protect users privacy will be taken down and term as tool for money laundering.
This is not only happening in the US alone but other countries around the world, regulations is the most important thing right now for the government and in doing that, their pick decentralised projects as the main enemy on target.
I can't blame the US government on their stance against decentralized projects, it's a good cause for them to protect against money laundering, some of which  goes into sponsoring terrorism and illegal activities. The tornado cash developer, should have known what he was up against before going into the development of a decentralized privacy project, I guess he must be an informed person and won't claim ignorance of the law. Normally cryptocurrency promotes privacy, but due to the fact that criminals and terrorists have hyjacked it for illegal activities, then I personally don't blame any governments that will wield the big hammer on offenders.
244  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to HODL for long. on: May 14, 2024, 05:16:12 PM

245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's Hidden Benefits. on: May 14, 2024, 03:58:36 PM
snip~~

Exchanges need promotion like you have said because they need new customers. Banks have been in existence for a long time now and they don't need such kind of marketing or promotion as they know customers need banking services to survive in this world. Crypto has been in existence for a decade and as it is a new concept these exchanges need to lure new customers in a competitive crypto exchange market.
Banks have been in existence for some centuries and over time they've gained trust and reputation, people feel very comfortable to leave their money in banks, even when they're not getting any incentives for doing so. Crypto exchanges are quite new in the financial industry, so they've not gained adoption and reputation like the banking system, no matter the rewards that they give their customers for keeping their cryptocurrency in them, it'll take a long time before people will fully embrace cryptocurrency and exchanges.

In reality, Banks are safer to save your money than exchanges, because Banks are regulated by central banks, but an exchange can go bankrupt or be hacked at anytime and investors funds will be gone. Despite the advantages of leaving my coins in exchanges, I'll rather leave them in a none custodial wallet, where I'm the custodian of my coins.
246  Economy / Economics / Re: Your own people family best friends and loyal supportive people are true wealth on: May 14, 2024, 01:40:28 PM
The best investments that anybody can make is on another person, because when you empower someone, you've reduced dependency, I believe that one of the major factor that separates loved ones is money, the richer you get the more easier for relationships to become apart. Money is important, but it's not everything, relationship with loved ones, especially family is very important, they'll be there for you in the time of emotional support and when you need loved ones to stand by you. People give different excuses for not keeping relationships going, but a few minutes of call to a loved one can still keep me bond, let us prioritize family and good friends relationships.
247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions gone silence since the DIP. on: May 14, 2024, 11:47:56 AM
The promising approach about the rising of Bitcoin price seemly to have emotional influence on investors which at some points triggers market sentiments.

Who has observed that the speculations and predictions  of Bitcoin price has gone silence since the market went DIP after the halving?
Before the halving, there was high expectations that we're going to see a massive bull run, this could be because of the price surge before the halving, that even made it possible to see a new ATH before it. I think that the approval of Bitcoin ETF triggered a lot of excitements, because of the massive price increase that followed it, now halving has ended and the excitement has suddenly ceased because of the price dip. I know that it's just a matter of time and the price predictions or speculations will become more exciting and loud, when we enter bull run.
248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are most scammers from Nigeria? on: May 14, 2024, 10:22:23 AM
Are most scammers from Nigeria?

CIA, FBI, Biden & US gov, fiat banking system, NATO, UN, etc.

Cool
Thanks for your unbiased view to scams, it's not exclusive to Nigeria, or any other countries in the world, criminality is a global menace, I think that cybercrimes will even be more in developed countries, because they own these technologies, unlike third world countries that are trying to catch up.

It'll surprise the OP to know that CEOs, top government officials, politicians, the wealthy are the most corrupt, they'll involve in shady deals, high level scams to remain super rich. He that is down fears no fall, but the wealthy will do anything to remain very rich, because they have phobia for poverty, therefore they'll do whatever it takes to be rich, whether legit or scam.
249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Wars not really about resouces nowdays anymore its revenge on: May 14, 2024, 08:16:23 AM
The OP should have provided some links or examples of countries that went to war just to revenge what another older generation did to their older generation, revenge is the aftermath of a wrong done to someone, community or country. Something must've caused the initial war or conflict that'll necessitate a revenge, so it's definitely resources, encroachment, colonization, power and the rest that starts a war, if the receiving sides resists, revenge mainly comes after surfering a defeat. I can say that most wars are started out of interests, to fight for something that will be beneficial to you as an individual or a country as a whole.
250  Other / Meta / Re: Could there be a "like button"? on: May 14, 2024, 07:29:26 AM
Like button is not necessary.
The uniqueness of the forum is the difference it has from other forum, and that is in the merit system. Like buttons are common with other forum, and can just be easily given, but not with merits. Because it is not easy to earn merits, it is not easy to give, and when some people in forum earn merits, before that person will give you their smerits, it means they really like what you have shared in your post.
In the first few months of joining this forum, I also thought like the OP that if there could be a " like button" to posts, that it'll be fine, so members can appreciate a post that they feel is quality, even if they don't have merit to give the post. But I soon realized that it'll probably never happen, as the merit system is a unique feature of the forum, to make it stand out from social media sites like Facebook. One of the reasons why I think that " like buttons " is not necessary in this forum is because members might start to be giving unnecessary likes to posts, even the ones that don't deserve it, thereby spamming the forum with too many likes.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming A Confident Trader In The Crypto Space on: May 14, 2024, 06:01:34 AM
Nice story for another shill post for Bitget competition. Everyone knows that exchange competition are for whale traders because it always involves trading volume which is impossible to conquer with low capital even if you are using futures trasing since other user use futures trading too with high capitals.

This KGCI tournament or whatever kind of competition you are shilling for Bitget exchange is surely the same with other exchange competition. You should chicken out when participating on exchange competition since you are struggling on your trading while this competition will not help you to improve.
Even though I wish the OP luck in this competition that he's obviously shilling for bitget, I also doubt his chances of winning, since it's the whale traders that have the more trading volumes in these exchange competitions. It's a good thing that he's not relying on signals from his friend to trade and I'd advise him again to concentrate on improving his trading techniques and increase his confidence, so he won't be trading with emotions.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will altcoins fly? on: May 13, 2024, 06:33:55 PM
Are we gonna have one more chance to buy altcoins with low price ? What do you think about this

One more chance? In fact, we still have many opportunities to buy altcoins. Many predict that the bull run season will occur in 2025. Of course this is just speculation and everyone has their own opinion. I have personally accumulated several potential altcoins such as Manta and Hbar. Always do your own research and this is not financial advice from me.
We surely have more chance to buy altcoins now because their bull run has not started, Bitcoin halving has come and gone and the after effect is price dip, as of today Bitcoin price is $6.9k, so it's obvious that it's bull run has not started. Bitcoin bull season precedes altcoins bull season, and as neither has started, I still think that it's very safe to keep accumulating them, so yes, altcoins can still fly high. Although altcoins are not as reputable as Bitcoin in the crypto market, so carry out your research first before buying any of them, especially the new projects.
Just to correct BTC price as of today is around $63K not $6.9K. No one can tell how high alts can fly and specially which one will fly. All are speculative for now. But sure thing is alts season will definitely come. But Doing some research before investing is must. And patience is the key to success.
Remember that the crypto market is very volatile and despite our best speculations, crypto price can swing unexpectedly, meaning that the price you see now can change in the next few minutes. I want to correct your impression and tell you that I wasn't wrong about Bitcoin price when i made my post that you quote, I confirmed price before posting and it was $6.9k then, later it pumped to $63k, and as I'm typing now Bitcoin price is $62,692k. One thing is for sure, we will pass this phase and enter steady price surge that'll take us to bull run.
253  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why people dey plagiarise for forum and how we go avoid am. on: May 13, 2024, 04:22:40 PM

254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price analysis: Mixed opinion by investors and experts on: May 13, 2024, 02:59:29 PM
Just some random crap in the internet and you have posted it here I mean you just type anything about the crypto market and it will have a news related to it in the internet but it doesn't mean you just post about it in the forum without any validation. I think we shouldn't be taking such news seriously and move on with our preparation for bullrun.
I'm just glad that the news has been confirmed that it's fake, it's the handiwork of of mischief makers to cause panic around Ethereum, with the aim to rubbish it's reputation in the crypto market. But for most of us that knows Ethereum, it still remains the number one top altcoin in the crypto space, and we're looking forward to seeing it bull in the coming altcoin season.

I agree that forum members should verify information before posting, because most of us take crypto news that are shared on this platform seriously.
255  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying BTC in Russia on: May 13, 2024, 01:58:16 PM
Maybe you can use the local language board of Russia on this forum to get more advice on how you or your friend can Buy Bitcoin in Russia.
I personally think the only possible way to do it is with a Decentralized Exchange, I am not sure if any CEX is there in Russia.
Asking in the local board is the best bet.
Why wandering about when you can hear it from the horse's mouth, it's a good thing that we have a Russian local board in the forum that is active, so let the OP take the best option by making the enquiry there. Whether they have CEX there in Russia, or if Binance p2p is functional in Russia, can be best answered by the Russians themselves.
256  Economy / Economics / Re: Choosing Between the IMF, World Bank, or Direct Borrowing on: May 13, 2024, 11:55:27 AM

Question
How does a country determined  which of these organizations to approach for funds. If these institutions are always availed to receive. Some countries are not going through these structures rather they borrow directly from the bank of another country. Which is better?
I think that most countries are more concerned about which of them that will give them loan without a problem, I don't think that most politicians are bothered about making the best choice that'll benefit their countries, they're more interested in getting the money. Politicians will collect loans from these global financial institutions, mismanage and embezzle the funds, then leave the responsibilities of repayment to the coming administrations, the moment they leave office, it's no longer their responsibilities to repay the loans that their administrations collected. I've heard of some African countries that collected loans from China, and they're not able to repay, China, is now in charge of some of their parastetals, to recover their money.
257  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: May 13, 2024, 10:53:51 AM
I've been seeing this thread and I think that this is the first time that I'm opening it and reading through the comments, I think that it's interesting combining physical well-being through 100 push-up exercise, in anticipation and speculation until Bitcoin price reaches $100k.

I just finished one set of pushups now before taking a few minutes rest before typing now, shamefully I couldn't go more than 12 and crashed down on number 13, I've really gained weight. Thanks for this challenge, I think that I need to take it more seriously, I don't remember the last time that I exercised, hopefully before price reaches $100k, I'd have improved and slimed a little.
258  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Meme coins signals group here on: May 13, 2024, 09:32:12 AM
People still follow "signal" groups, most of which are just scams?

One day you will get rugged and the small profits you though you had made will all go down the drain. The most important aspect in trading is learning for yourself how to trade rather than following signals. A huge percentage of them are even just organized scams.
I've never been involved in a signal group, and the reason is very simple, their trust ratings from experienced traders that I know is very low, even on this thread, I can see a lot of negative remarks on signal groups. I've heard how the inexperienced traders are scammed in these groups, so trading is not something that you totally rely on any group, you have to learn to do it by yourself, so that you can learn from you own mistakes, and in doing so, it's also important to trade with the amount that you can afford to loose, to minimize loses.
259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Only way russia can be equal with military with USA on: May 13, 2024, 07:58:45 AM
Russia and the US are not in a war yet, so there's no necessity for Russia, to have any millitery base near US border, besides, like you said, USA can not allow Russia, to have any millitery base near them, they'll make sure of it. The US clearly has more allies than Russia, and if there's any escalation between the two countries, Russia, will definitely suffer more, they know this fact, and that is probably why their war with Ukraine, is still ongoing, because Ukraine, is an American ally, and it means another strong American base near Russia. America and Russia, have always flexed muscles as far as I can remember, but as it looks today, America, is having an upper hand against Russia.
260  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake website on: May 13, 2024, 06:53:52 AM
Bitcoin investment has been so good to people, but to some they got scammed because they invest in a wrong platform, and now with the way things are going scammer are alway busy creating fake website to scam people

My question is that how can someone dictate a fake website? because is getting too much, is there anyway the comonas need to know things like this if there is any.

The recommendation is "Don't trust, verify"
We all can start with big websites in cryptocurrency market like Coinmarketcap.com, Coingecko.com and find information of cryptocurrency exchanges or projects.
You've given the two best recommendations as far as I'm concerned, when choosing a website to buy or invest in Bitcoin, or any other assets, it is 'don't trust, verify first. Even when your loved ones whom you trust introduces you to any websites that you can invest or make quick money on a short time, don't take their words for it because you trust them, because they might have sent it to you as received, it doesn't mean that they've cautiously verified it. When dealing in Bitcoin, it's best to get information from renowned crypto platforms like coingecko and cointelegraph, it helps to focus on these  known sources to avoid scams.
